jez nodded, she'd had a feeling he was kind of guy, Those were the guys Blaise usually liked.
He was too old for her anyways.
She glanced at James and Poppy who were busy dancing with each other. Then at Blaise who was flirting with him. She glanced around for Alex for five seconds before going back to her drink.
He won't be able to be that way with Blaise, she thought to April, Haven't you heard "Hell hath no fury, like a witch's scorn"?
"Blaise" she answered getting her own drink and getting up "and you are..?"
Alex walked up to them.
"Hey" he said "Who's this?"

"I am-", he started.
"Leaving!", she said snarling at Charlie. "He was just leaving. He has to get to class. Don't you?" she said putting on a fake smile.
"I actually wasn't. I am prepared to stay and meet all of your new and interesting friends." he said eyeing Blaise playfully. "I'm Charlie." he said turning toward the new person who had walked up.

April's attitude towards Charlie affected everyone. Jez's eyes became slightly more guarded nt unfriendly but not open either.
Blaise returned the smile with a raised eyebrow. She'd never played with a vampire, but this guy looked like fun. Plus she could handle vampires. She was a Harman witch.
Derek moved in trying to diffuse the tension before it finished forming.
"Sweet start with me" he said with a smile-smirk "I'm derek, and you are...?"
Alex being Alex could pick up that April was mad but not what she was mad about, and stood there not sure of what to do.
"Um...good to meet you" he said a bit hesitantly.
((sorry. Had to fix that. My pc's acting up ))

"Hey, I'm Charlie, April's boy friend." he said with a sly smile. He put his arm around her, and laughed. "You guys are all vampire right? Except for a witch and a human?" he asked them.
April sent Charlie a disgusted look, and she twisted his arm back behind his own head. "You've done that twice now, and if you do it again, it's not going to be pretty. You're not my boy friend. Got it?" she said letting go of his arm.
He shrugged.

Everyone exchanged looks but didn't know what to say.
Derek shrugged he knew the whole cat-and-mouse thing, hell he'd been in that spot before-Alex and jez were there now!
"Ok, boyfriend, not-boyfriend, why don't we just call you Charlie"
he said trying to keep the tension low-which somehow always seemed to be on him (XD)
"This is Alex, kid over there's jez, the witch is Blaise and those 2 lovebirds are James and Poppy" he signaled to James and Poppy who were now dancing together.
"And like you said they're all vampires 'cept for myself"

April sat down again, and sighed. What was she going to do with him?
"Okay cool so I guessed right. That's a first.'' he said laughing. He then turned to Blaise, and in a gentlmany manner took Blaise's hand. "Would you like to dance?" he asked smiling at her.

"sure" Blaise answered with a smile
Let's see if he can keep up
Picking up the thought jez rolled her eyes.
"And now everyone's paired up" she said with an eyeroll and a smile.
"Derek and I aren't" Alex said.
"And that would be a good thing" Derek put in smirking at Alex "cuz no offense Al,but you're not my type" his smirk widened when Alex almost choked on his drink. Al was just too fun to mess with, " And fyi I am paired up my pair's just not here" at this he looked a little sad.
Jez snickered raising at eyebrow at Alex
"something you wanna share Al?"
Alex was too confused, first jez was mad then she wasn't all in less than 5 seconds.
He turned to April changing the subject and hoping he didn't say something wrong again.
"So..how long have you known Charlie?"

"Ever since I became a vampire." she said smiling at them. She then whispered to Alex,"Look ask Jez to dance. Please?" She then sat back down and waited.
Charle smiled and took her hand, and kissed it. He spun her around while walking to the dance floor.

Alex almost jumped out of his trench coat.
"What?..ask her to...why?"
"Listen to the girl" Derek said coming up behind Alex with an eye roll.
Alex shrugged but obliged, used to doing as he was told.
He walked up to where Jez was.
"um...wanna dance?" he said.
Now it was jez's turn to choke on her drink.
"Wha-what?!" she composed herself a bit then asked "why?"
"...i don't know really"
Jez tilted her head to the side then shrugged,
"ok."
She grabbed his hand and dragged him to dance
Derek stared at them both then at April.
"And then there were 2" he said toasting with his drink he then stared at her for a bit "are you a telepath? An empath? Or just perceptive?" he asked referring to how she knew Jez and Alex anted to dance with each other, with a smirk-smile that made it clear he wasn't trying to be mean to her.

April laughed and smiled. ''I don't think I'm any of those things. I just see how they look at each other. I've seen that look many times." she said smirking at him, and grabbing a drink. "How do you know all of them?" she asked trying not to pry.
Charlie spun around the dance floor with Blaise and smiled at her.

"Alex" he said simply,
"My best friend from high school came to me freshman year said she needed to hide something in my attic" he shrugged remembering that day "well actually she threatened to throw me trough the window if I didn't help." he said, there was a reason he was her only friend. "I thought it was a puppy, thought I wasn't really surprised when she said her other best friend was a vampire and since she was a preacher kid she needed to hide him for a bit" he smiled remembering how he met 2 of his greatest friends in California. "Alex and I were both 14 back then" he said then looked down, he towered over everyone now "I'm 19 now and...well you get it" he glanced over at Alex "He's my best friend, more like my brother than anything..ironically my brother is his age"
Jez danced not sure just what had gotten into Alex.
"I thought you didn't dance" she said moving to the music.
"well you dragged me here I figured I might as well, after all we know u must always have your way"
Jez laughed knowing he didn't mean any harm by it she smirked at Alex
"don't you forget it" she said and kept dancing
"Obviously me and our other friend didn't stay 14" Derek said continuing the tale "Al stuck with me, even though she was his best friend..the only one he had for a long time, he couldn't go with her" he stopped there, Alex wouldn't want him talking about her much, not when she was probably not coming around for a while, it was pretty obvious he missed her. Hell, derek missed her too.
"As to how I met the rest, well it was a year ago and it was pretty much how you see her and Al acting now. He snarked she snarked back and before I knew it i was hiding her too, then she found Blaise..and I somehow managed to hide both them AND Alex from my parents, we came here, and like James said he and Poppy room with us so I met them when I got here" he hoped April wouldn't ask why they came to Blue Moon, Derek was here for his friends, but his friends were here for reasons they may not want t share just yet.

She knew she probably wouldn't get anymore answers so she just smiled. "How in the world did you manage it? My parents....nevermind." she said looking away. She would tell him her story if he asked, but if he didn't care then why tell him? ''You all are cool. The only other vampires I've met were literally trying to kill me." she told him. She looked over at Jez and Alex. "They really do like each other." she said laughing. She then looked over at Charlie and Blaise. She grimaced. She then put on a smiled and turned back toward him.

Derek raised an eyebrow.
"You can tell me y' know" he said, he'd told her all this in good faith, he knew from experience with both Alex and Jez as well as the other friend he mentioned when someone had something they both did and didn't want to talk about.
He'd been on that boat himself-for more..mortal reasons.
"I'll tell you this" he said keeping the conversation going "hiding them all wasn't so hard, we call my dad George Clueless, he's a good enough guy but he'll forget he has kids half the time, and that was before he married my step mom" Derek shook his head thinking of how he'd been the one to know his brother's crushes and school problems and to know when his little sister was pretending to be a cat or that her favorite color changed very week "My mom...well she hasn't been round in a while" a pained look crossed him for the briefest moment when he mentioned his mom before it was ,masked he went on "when he remarried I got 2 more sisters one younger one my age" he stopped for a bit, he and his oldest step sister weren't on speaking terms. "with 5 kids in the house, we could drag a dead body in and no one would notice" he shrugged, he was the one to teach his younger stepsis to play hockey and to beat bloody any guy that checked her out. It was the only responsible trait he had, being a big brother. He'd been the default parent without meaning to.
"We could also drag in 2 vampires and a witch without any reaction, during those 5 years I met Al the house was visited by demons and vampires good and bad day in day out..dad still cant figure out why people keep moving away from the neighborhood" he laughed picturing his dad scratching his head not knowing how a house could go down in value so fast "he still doesn't know about vampires and demons and all that. But everyone else including my 9 year old sister does" he finished with a shrug. He smiled at the thought of his youngest sister, everyone knew she was the closest to him, he loved the little girl she meant the world to him. And unlike most of the people he cared about, he wasn't shy about showing it with her.
He looked over at Jez and Alex.
"She's the first girl Alex's even looked at since....his last girlfriend" derek winced inwardly, that hadn't ended well. "Alex will never go for her though"

"He should. There is no one else like her, and I just met her." she said smiling at him. "Okay you're going to think I am selfish. I was born to a rich family, and I hated it. They would never get their eyes off of me, and I had no freedom. I was apparently incredibly beautiful because every man I met couldn't control theirselves, and they threw themselves at me. They begged me to marry them. I was tired of it. My parents were so proud to have a beautiful daughter, but they were never proud of me for, me. Just my looks. They pampered me, but I always thought they loved me for my beauty and not because I was their daughter." she said looking down. "After I was turned into a vampire, I was still pretty, but not like I was before. They felt pity for me, but they usually shunned me because I was no longer the beautiful daughter they once had. I never truly knew if they loved me for who I was. I left a note for them saying good bye and nothing else. No "I love you" or anything. I changed my appearence, my name, and anything else I could to get away from my former life. I haven't seen them since." she told him sadly. "I can't tell if I regret what I did. I will never know. Don't get me started on Charlie." she said glaring at Charlie who was showing off on the dance floor.

"jokes on them" Derek said after he heard about April's parents. "Vampires are actually more beautiful than mortals, enchantment's one of their abilities" he became more serious "parents are like that" he said then said a qoute he knew well from his friends and his own experiences.

He knew the quote by heart, he was screwed up by his parents himself, his mother more so than his father.
His expression twisted when he thought of his mother. He turned to April with a smile that was his best.
"Look i don't know everything you shouldn't regret what you did. Your parents had years to see what they had, if they didn't then it's they're loss.. Getting yourself out, was probably your best bet"
He glanced at Alex and Jez and smiled somewhat sadly, he did wish those 2 would get together.
"Jez is one of a kind. and Al is crazy about her. He just...he has his own issues" he then glanced over to Charlie and Blaise with a knowing smile but said nothing.
