Thinking the girl's reply was just cute, Markus laughed a bit and gave her a few more pats. "You may think that but a fighter can be pretty. you just haven't seen them yet but you sure seem tough don't you. So what's your name sweetie? I'm Markus, Vic's father or I guess you can say 'mother'." He was cheerful as he spoke but children just had that effect on him.

Vic soon tugged on his mother's shirt wanting to tell him something but he quickly stopped and went to Moira's side and took her hand then his mother's hand. He was trying to get the fact about all being a family. He knew his mother would get it and from the look Vic saw on Markus's face it looked like he did.

"Oh my. Vic are you thinking what i think you're thinking? Are you trying to say that you want Moira to come with us?" The male gave a frown as he saw his son nodding. "I'm not sure we can do that sweetie. She has family I'm sure and they'd probably miss her." Removing his hand from Vic's, he ran his finger's through his son's black hair.

The girl remained silent watching the two interact, almost envious of the relationship that they had. "My Momma wont notice. She hasn't noticed that I've been going out on my own for a long time now..." Moira says firmly before staring at her own mother, wondering if the horned female did in fact love her, or whatever parents were supposed to feel towards their children.

Sorrow filled the older male with what the girl said about her mother and in an instant he had her in his arms. "Don't say that. You don't know for sure. Maybe your mommy just has her mind somewhere else but I'm sure she cares about you." Pulling away a bit he brushed Moira's hair away from her eyes and gave her a small kiss on her forehead. "Maybe it'll be ok if we ask your mother if you can sleep over. What do you say sweetie?"

Patiently watching the two, Vic soon felt happy at what Markus suggested about Moira sleeping over. He wanted to jump around a bit but he stayed still, keeping it all inside but his smile showed what he was feeling.

"She cares more about Mommy right now.. Mommy went away and Gramma went poof too. Momma mostly seems to care about my sister Yoko right now..no ones told me why. They never tell me why..Its one reason I ran away!" Moira shouts, starting to get upset and frustrated. All she wanted was her parents to pay attention to her for more than just during 'food time' and for a minute every so often. "T-the only attention she gave me was when I threatened to run away..!" The pink haired girl starts to tear up, soon pulling the hood of her hoodie up and covering her face with her hair.

Patting the girl's back he hoped that it would calm her. He never thought he would hear a little girl say such words and even if she wasn't part of his family he still wanted to comfort her as if she had been. "I'm really sorry dear. How about we don't talk about running away. That won't be good at all but if you ever feel like that you can come over to our house. We'll all give you as much attention as you want and need as long as it's ok with you mother."

Vic's excitement had lowered and just as his mother he hugged Moira but from behind. Again Vic wanted to say something but he didn't feel it right just yet so he just kept on hugging.

Moira sniffles a little, leaning into the hug, something shes been wanting for awhile now. "Y-you can ask her... I dunno if I-I can ask her..."she sobs quietly before rubbing her eyes with the sleeve, looking down at the wet spots on it. "S-shes wif friends.. h-having fun. I-I didnt wanna be here.. Sh-she looks happy...f-for once..".

"Don'y worry I will so don't worry anymore sweetie." Releasing Moira from the hug he looked around. "Where is your mother sweetheart?" He asked as he still looked around. He didn't mind having to ask since he had brought it up, he just wanted the situation solved soon so no more cries would be shed.

Even if Markus had let go Vic didn't. He held on and he held on tight as he wore his serious face. The boy was a bit like his mother, he wanted to make the people he cared happy in anyway that he could.

"Over.. there" The pink haired girl points to her mother with equally bright hair, "She talks w-with thoughts..its scary at times.." she says quietly before closing her eyes as the boy held on tighter to her. Opening her eyes slightly, Moira looked at him, smiling weakly.

"Thank you." She whispers.

Sonnet really didn't know what to say to that. Alice had just run off with Rasiel and her mother and only one of the children? It was more confusing then it really needed to be. She really didn't want to say anything to Deskri just yet, wanting to wait and feel out what was going to happen, to hear his reaction before she decided what to do next.

Trying to divert her attention, she looked around and saw a girl looking rather sad over near the doorway. She tilted her head and looked at the girl for a moment. There was something about her hair that made her think...

"Moira," she said finally. Even though she had only heard a little about her from Deskri, she somehow knew it was Syth's other child. She had been getting those thought recently where if she looked at something hard enough and thought about it hard enough, she seemed to just know.

"Syth? Moira's here..." she said, pointing the saddened child out. "I didn't see her when I came in..."

Cedric merely listened as Edmund and Aiden conversed. This was the awkward thing about trying to meet new people, they usually knew someone and if that someone showed up you started to get kind of ignored. Still, he couldn't blame them. Sure, it was a little irksome, but it was life. If he couldn't place himself into the conversation soon he would have to find someone new to converse with. Might as well not hover around.

Zahur clapped his hands together. "Ok, I keeps aways from Silas' sissy. Does Silas have any big sissies or brovers? I does!" he said with great glee as he pointed to River. "He's supah nice and helps me wit things if Daddy's busy wif work or sometin."

Deskri could only stare at her while she spoke, unable to comprehend what she was saying at first. "So they just up and left without a word to anyone?" He groaned, placing his face in his hand. "I can't keep doing this. He's gotta stick around or go away forever." The last bit was mostly to himself rather than to Syth or Sonnet.

He looked to the girl that Sonnet was watching and immediately frowned. His assumption that Syth wasn't the best mother ever seemed to make itself true. How did a kid get that miserable looking without having previously had a bad time? "Your kid looks miserable." He stated dryly, unable to put up the filter between his brain and his mouth.

"I bet evil hates high pitched noises." Hayden smirked and cranked up the volume on his headphones as he spoke. It was a hint for Hank, he was offering his services as the most annoying sound user on campus for free, just this once.

"Nah, we all borned at same time... Oh! Ther's Momo, she's m'sissy too." He pointed at Momo, frowning. "She look sad." He then looked to River when he was pointed out. "He looks naiss. I wanna big bruther, mebbe he play wif me." Silas looked back to Zahur with a small grin.

River allowed Isolde to pull him along. Since he had someone to be with and share the fake spotlight with, he felt more comfortable moving to the song. "Th-this is nicer..." He smiled a bit, starting to loosen up.

It was well into the party when another car pulled up in the Academy's parking lot, two costumed passengers tumbling out; one a young, dark-haired boy dressed as a Roman soldier (toy sword and all), the other what appeared to be his older sister, clad in a brightly coloured clown dress. They waved their goodbyes to the driver as the car drove off again, entering the school and making their way to the ballroom from there.

Before they could enter the ballroom, however, Sorrel grabbed the bright red cape hanging from her brother's shoulders and tugged him back to stand just beside the doors.
"Are you going to be okay?" she asked in an undertone, releasing the fabric and regarding him with one eyebrow arched. She knew he wasn't a shy kid, but this would be his first time attending a public event and he hadn't met many people yet, seeing as though he hadn't yet been attending the school very long. Thinking about it, her newly discovered Big Sister Instincts had kicked in.

Sergei stared back at her, frowning a little bit.
"Yeah, I'll be fine. Let's just go."

Sorrel straightened up, expression softening into what was almost a smile, and straightened her headband and the hat attached to it. "Just find me if you need me. Okay?"

Sergei made a face that made it seem as though resisting the urge to roll his eyes was physically painful. "Okay, mom. It's not like I could miss you." He jerked his chin towards her, eyes sweeping over her outfit to indicate its bright colours.

"Oh, shut up." A detectable note of amusement was in her tone. "That cape isn't very subtle either." She snorted softly as Sergei pushed past her to get into the ballroom, obviously eager to join the party. She slipped in after him as discreetly as her eye-catching costume would allow.

The two split up immediately. After taking a quick glance over the occupants of the room and seeing no one she instantly recognized, Sorrel decided to plunge herself directly into the fray and make a sweep to see if she saw anyone she knew. If she did, awesome - but if not, she had absolutely no qualms with mingling with the unfamiliar faces.

Blue and yellow eyes searched the other students as she moved around and between them, mind half-occupied by the energetic beat of the song that was playing. She could feel the urge to dance beginning to grow - but it was always better to dance with others than alone, she thought, so she would wait.

Just as she had decided that, a flash of familiar purple and gold along the edge of the room caught Sorrel's eye and she paused. Adeline? She couldn't be sure - it was too dark, and everyone was in costume. But it couldn't hurt to check, could it? So she turned on her heel and started towards where she had thought she had seen her friend.

Meanwhile Sergei had also strode into the midst of the mingling bodies, but with much less inward confidence than his sister. It wasn't that he was nervous or intimidated - just that he had never been to a party of any kind before and had no idea what to expect. Rather than immediately looking for people he knew (which were few to begin with), he wandered aimlessly, more focused on absorbing as much of the atmosphere of the place as he could. It was the energy of it all that he found interesting, second only to the mysterious atmosphere set in place by all the costumes everyone was wearing. He was thrilled to be allowed to be there by himself - his sister's presence didn't count in his mind. She wouldn't be with him the whole time.

"Huh?" It was a simply remark from Syth, who seemed to be looking away from the two towards where she could only assume Moira was at. And much to her amazement, the hooded child was there. Looking as Deskri had dryly stated it, miserable. There was pain from the appearance of it, that and embarrassment. Moira had said she wanted to stay home. She had remembered it. But, without a further word, Syth merely vanished from the both of them. Instantly appearing in front of the Child, sitting down an looking at Moira, just as confused as ever.

She had no clue what to do, or what to ever say to attempt to cheer up her daughter. Looking over her with a lost expression, trying to find the proper words, before turning up to look at the adult. The way she was feeling, it was out of place, the first time she had felt speechless since... well, if ever. Biting her lips, pondering what to say still.

"I-i'm sorry," She spoke aloud to both of them. Not sure of what exactly. Momo had wanted to stay home, and yet she was here, not even dressed up. And even then, looking up at Markus. It was obvious that he had to take care of her.

Still, she curled up her arms around her legs, looked over at Moira, and just wondered what she could do to sate her needs for attention.

Flinching when her mother appeared in front of her, she seemed to shy away, though when she heard the words in her mothers voice she couldn't help but look away. Moira let out a strange sound as she looked to the bag that held her few clothes and her Journal, the only things she really had aside from the adventures she went on.

"I know you cant take care of all four --- three, of us, Momma." She starts to speak, remembering that Lucian had been taken by Alice for who knows what. "I'm... I'm running away so you can give Silas and Yoko the attentions they need, more so Silas... h-... he's been painting his room hoping you and Mommy would see it..or gramma, but you never see them.. hes also been talkin to hisself and someone at the same time.." The girl whispers, looking at her brother with a slightly terrified look before looking back to her mother.

Seeing as to where the girl was point, Markus soon noticed that they had been getting some attention which made the man a tad bit nervous. Gulping he took a step forward to meet with the pink haired girl's mother but by the time he did, she had disappeared from his sight. "Wher-" He paused from hearing a voice from behind which made him turn and there she now appeared. A puzzled look was on his face as he wondered how the other had done such a thing but he remembered at that moment what he had been told the first time he had gotten Yoo. It seemed clear to Markus's now and made him a bit more interested in knowing more about them.

Kneeling right next to both mother and daughter he quietly listen to their situation before he could start talking. It had pulled at his heart strings as he listened but it only made him want to help even more. Taking a small breath, Markus opened his mouth and spoke. "I know that I am of no relation or connection to your family but still I would very much like to help." He paused for a moment as he looked to Syth. "If it's alright with you, Moira could stay at our house until things get better for the both of you. I can even give you directions if you wish to visit her. You will always be welcomed." Taking out his wallet and removing a small card that had his home address and both house and cell number.

All the time that everyone had been talking Vic had stood there right next to Moira, trying to understand the situation. He didn't sound much emotion but inside he honestly cared for what would happen to the girl he had befriended that day. Looking from one parent to the other over and over he got a bit dizzy but soon he just looked over to the girl next to him.

Yet though, with the other man offering, there was part inside of her that wanted to look at him, stare into him with such a ferocity that it would make even the darkest soul cringe. But yet, her face remained emotioness, her mind still busy, her body feeling uneasy at her present situation. It was sickening that here, she was dealt with a girl who wanted to run away, to help ease the pain of taking care of, now, three children.

"Moira," She managed to cough up, obvious she was on the verge of crying. Her mental voice unable to distill the emotions she was feeling, "I don't want you to run away. Not now, and not ever," She added, now sniffling. It was obvious some emotion was leaking, but she had to keep herself under control. She couldn't let herself give in.

"Lucian's sick, and Mummy is trying to help him feel better. Yoko is blind and I have to help her. And you... you're a very smart girl," She reached out, moving to extend a hand out, reaching for the child, "I can trust that when you're gone, you'll be safe. That you'll know who to trust, and who to stay away from. I'm sorry if it doesn't seem like I'm paying attention sometimes,"

She paused though, choking up a bit. Her eyes slightly red from the tears, "Plus, I know you've met some nice friends, and I've been wondering when you might bring them over," She remained quiet afterward, giving Moira small hug, before pulling back, looking at her, "Plus, I seem to remember a girl who didn't want to come,"

Though, she remained cross legged, turning back to look over at Marcus. Trying to keep herself straight, by giving the kindest reply she could, in privacy.

'Things are fine, Marcus. If she wants to stay over, she can.'

By now, she was finding it that much harder to not peer into other people's private life. She always gave her children room, because she didn't want to get caught up in worrying about them every time they got hurt. She had gotten pretty beat up herself a few times while growing up.
