neutral To sum it up, Cloud was trying to get back at Seph for ruining his life, betraying him as an idol and destroying everything dear to him.
Final Boss Fights with Seph and Jenova differing formations: Blah blah blah.
After defeating Safer Sephiroth, his physical state is destroyed and the team starts walking away and expecting Holy to deal with Meteor. Yes. Cloud's conscious is called away to Seph to deal with his mental self (As in, of the mind. Don't think of it the other way.) Cloud defeats him, Seph is brought into the lifestream to be 'recycled' into something else. (Of course, that takes some time. AC proves that with his return and Zack and Aerith around.) Speaking of which, Aerith comes at the battle's end, helping Cloud return to his body and get the hell out of the Crater.
Airship comes. Woot.
Holy comes. Yay. Lifestream brought out to aid it and defend itself and the planet. Shiny.
Aerith, if you remember, said in Cloud's dream after the whole Black Materia/Temple of the Ancients episode: "I'll be leaving now. I'll come back when it's all over."
Yes, she did come back when it ended. Meaning that she won't leave their side and will always be there to help. After all, it was her prayer to Holy and her helping hand in the Crater. So, yes, she's there.
Cloud's happy Aerith was there. Woot.
Everyone's accepting that the planet was saved and are happy, too. Woot.
