If anything could cheer Zhi up, it was watching River stretch again~! Add in that River had practically, indirectly, asked for another friend date with her! That was a bonus point in her River-emolument for the day. Not that she wouldn't hope for more, but she could be happy knowing she got something. She nodded at River in agreement, inwardly pumping a fist in victory over having an excuse to come over later. She could get a whole workbook to do with River! She didn't know if Mao would have any, but she still had.. er.. some money leftover from White Day. Plus, if she hadn't sent that check in to Kotone yet – which could very well be just sitting on her desk still – she could dip into it a little more for River's sake! Kotone would understand and, if not, then who cared?

Zhi started to follow River into the kitchen, before her wrist was grabbed and she was simply tugged. She struggled to keep herself from smiling widely and giggling – River was holding her hand! Well, not really, but it was close enough! She enjoyed it as long as she could, a frown forming when the woman let go. Oh, well, nothing good could last forever.. Unless it was her affections towards River, those would never die! Never! True love couldn't, after all~! The smell of baked cheese, tomatoes, and crust had her recalling how hungry she was, bringing her out of her mind to get herself a slice. Starving or not, she couldn't have herself seeming like a pig in front of River, so she only got a small slice.

Yes, please.” She responded to River and reached for one of the plates River took down, setting her slice on there before turning to head to the refrigerator. Ah, wait, this wasn't her house. She couldn't stand River having to serve her, though~!! Unsure on what to do, she stood next to the fridge until she remembered Elliot existed. Perfect! “I want Sprite or something like that.” She told the girl while heading to the table to sit down and wait. She looked at River again, “So, River, where do you work? I think I heard something about the bakery from Elliot before.” Of course, she didn't need to ask River that. She had made it a point to find out as much as she could find on River during her free time. Lucky for her she had a hairdresser that frequented the bakery! But, well, she needed to say something to start a conversation.

Elliot flinched when Zhi mentioned Sprite. She was right, she was mad! All of a sudden she almost felt nervous. Her heart was beginning to race and everything! She glanced from Zhi to the refrigerator. Yes... she should make sure that she stayed on Zhi's good side! Zhi didn't seem to be angry, but Elliot was sure that she was just keeping a sweet face in front of River. She wasn't eager to see truly, physically angry Zhi, so she stood up quickly and got Zhi her soda, handing it to her quickly.

River got her own food and dropped it onto onto her own plate. "Hm?" she glanced over her shoulder at Zhi's question. "Yeah, I work at the bakery. I'm a waitress," she replied with a smile, making her way to the table and sitting across from Zhi. She was sure that Elliot would want to sit next to her friend~ "But it's only temporary. When Alex gets his own restaurant, I'll work there instead," she said with a smile. She took a bite of her pizza before realizing that Elliot was still standing awkwardly off to the side. "...Elliot, what are you doing?" she asked her with a confused question. Elliot realized what she was doing (what if Zhi needed anything else?!) and shook her head, before sitting down at the end of the table. River laughed softly before continuing. "Zhi, you should come to the restaurant when it opens. It'll be fun. Oh, Zhi! You're the same grade as Elliot, right? Do you know what you'll do after graduation?" she asked eagerly. Yes, she did have some ulterior motives in asking that.

Oh, Sprite! She loved Sprite~! Zhi smiled as she took the soda handed to her, opening the can and taking a sip before anything else. Lemon and lime soda – what could possibly be better? Of course, she didn't get much soda when she was younger, so it may not be as phenomenal of a thing to someone else, but she still loved it all the same. The girl seemed pretty happy to munch on her pizza and drink her soda – this was the best meal she had had in awhile! Her aunt used to let her eat like this, but Mao was so stingy when it came to fast food – always shoving odd meals to her when it came dinnertime. Not to mention, River was eating with her~! It just made the whole experience that much better. She nodded at the explanation – Alex was going to get his own restaurant? She didn't think the guy had any goals like that. More importantly, River would work there! Alex seemed the type to stay out of her way and Elliot would learn to do that too.. So, if it stayed a family-run business, going there would be like guaranteed one on one time with River!

That sounds very cool!” She stated her own approval and looked at Elliot with a raised eyebrow. What was she doing? Distracting River like that! She shook her head and returned her attention to the woman across from her. “I would be very happy to come to your family restaurant.” She added at the offer, pausing now to consider that question. After graduation.. It really was coming up, wasn't it? “Er..” She set what was left of her pizza down and set her hands on her lap, “A businesswoman.” She said firmly – Min-Ya always was so cool! Oh, but.. “Or a teacher.” Teaching River was fun and, well, she liked being in command of people. Ah, in command.. “Or a doctor.” They got so much respect! But so did - “A lawyer, too.” But did any of those people ever look good? She didn't want to lose her cute clothes either. “Or a model.. Actress.. A singer would work too.” Her eyes drifted off to her left for a moment, going over everything cool about all those jobs before she ended with a small shrug and a look back to River. “Anything like that.

River listened to Zhi carefully, nodding her head with every occupation that the girl listed. She certainly was... ambitious, wasn't she? Listing a bunch of jobs like probably just meant that she had no idea what she really wanted to do, but River wouldn't consider that a bad thing. Afterall, she was twenty-two years old, completely happy to do part-time jobs for the rest of her life. She wasn't exactly the kind of person who could lecture Zhi on her future. In fact, it never even occurred to her! She was just impressed that Zhi was so flexible~ She had plenty of careers she could do!

"Wow," River replied with a nod. "You know, I could see you as those," she said with a smile. Well, that was kind of a lie. Businesswomen and doctors and lawyers and teachers struck River as stuffy and boring. Zhi was too fashionable for those jobs. And it would be a waste to change her entire look just so she could have a boring office job! But the last three! Yeah, that sounded right to her~ "I think you would be a good model or actress or singer," she grinned. "You're really cute and fun to watch, so I think it would suit you really well~" Zhi was like a little animal. She was eager and cute, and River was sure that other people would think the same thing~ Besides, how cool would it be to know a model?

She was cute? Ah, even if she knew River thought she was cute, she still loved hearing it! Especially when she added in something new! Like how she watched her because it was fun! ..Of course, that sounded like she was talking about an animal at the zoo rather than someone she would like to date and hold hands with, but Zhi was still more inclined to believe the latter. “Do you think that?” She said, excitement filling her tone as she barely managed to keep it under control. A model, actress, and singer~? Could Zhi pull off all three? If River thought she could!! She always liked those jobs better! ..Well, not really, she didn't.. have a favorite on that list of possible careers, but that didn't matter now, did it? “Thank you very much, River~!” Well, wouldn't this be easy? Zhi was already thinking of how she would go about it, too. She just had to go to some big city, walk around enough, and then someone would offer her a job! That was how it would work, right? Yes, that sounded it.. She only needed to pick out the right outfit to attract a scout!

Zhi looked over to Elliot from the corner of her eye. However much she would like to pretend the girl wasn't there, she couldn't. Plus, she had learned that it was creepier when Elliot was simply standing around quietly and watching than when she was forced to talk in that monotone of hers. So, with mild curiosity, she directed the next question to Elliot, “You're graduating too, so, what about you?” Hm, now that she thought on it, Zhi had trouble seeing Elliot having any real interest in anything. Outside of being a servant or mime, that is. The imagery of Elliot dressed in white and in stripes had a small smile on Zhi's lips. How fitting that would be! She looked at River, “You too. What do you want to be?” She may as well ask everyone while she was at it! At least she was honestly interested in what River had to say.

River flashed Zhi a bright smile in return for her thanks. She was so cute, all flattered like that~ She was used to people like her friends in high school, who either accepted the compliments as fact ("What the hell? Of course I am!") or as a threat. ("What the hell? You messing with me?!") They were surprisingly alike. She let out a tiny sigh. How refreshing~

Elliot flinched when Zhi addressed her. She was completely blank for a long moment as she tried to figure out how to answer. What did she want to do? After graduation? Oh, that's right. She was graduating. And then she would have to start working! Was there anything she was particularly interested in? "...Maybe office work," she decided after a long thought. She liked office work! Stapling papers, making copies, getting coffee, it was easy and mindless and generally didn't require much social interaction!

River chuckled softly to herself. Elliot was so cute~ She was enjoying the conversation, when all of a sudden, she realized that Zhi's last question had been directed at her! Her smile vanished instantly. For the first time in a while, she was at a complete loss for words. What did she want to be? She was River Park! Wasn't that good enough? Besides, wasn't she too old to have a "What I want to be when I grow up" job in mind? She stared down at the table seriously. How should she answer? The truth? But the truth was... "Heheh, honestly... I don't know," she offered, tucking her hair behind her ear with an apologetic smile. How embarrassing.

Office worker? Zhi looked at Elliot for a second, considering the girl in that sort of career. Office worker was something like a businesswoman, wasn't it? Zhi had always classified those as 'cool' people, the smart, serious, and stylish sort! Not short, dull, and creepy. If anything, the mime job seemed to fit her better or working as a living statue.. But, she wouldn't stop Elliot from trying out office work. Sure, it didn't fit into her ideals, but it wasn't her life anyway. She gave a small nod to show she heard, but didn't make any comment to voice approval – not in River's presence! It was her sister. She looked at River next and felt her heart skip a beat. River's expression was so.. so cool!! She wished she could take a picture for the second time that night, her hands tightening around each other on her lap while she watched. She must have taken her life's goals very seriously to put on an expression like that! It made Zhi feel somewhat lacking in comparison – she had only been thinking of what was cool or cute, not like how River was taking it at all!

Really?” The reply came instantly after River set that on the table. She didn't know? But, she had a whole set of years – Oh, no, Zhi couldn't criticize River! It went against everything she was forcing herself into ever since she first saw River in action! She just had to figure out – oh! Well, duh, River was so serious on the decision that she didn't want to jump into anything! She was only making sure whatever she was going to be would be completely perfect for her! That was smart! “Oh, I see.” She smiled and nodded thoughtfully, “You shouldn't rush something important like your life's career.” Dumb Zhi! She had been only thinking of it for maybe a year or two, nothing major like the obviously long time River spent on her own decisions! “When I become an idol, I'll be very happy to support you until you decide.

..Did she.. seriously just say that?! Zhi felt her throat dry and clench as soon as the words left her mouth. Asking River to live with her in a studio apartment in some large city while Zhi went out to work, coming home to her home-cooked meals and loving embrace?! That was too much! ..Oh, wait, River wanted to work at the restaurant her brother opened.. Then that meant she was asking for her to move in with her in a cute little cottage on the island so they could live together as lovers! Ah, it made her blush just thinking of the horrible proposal she had just done~! She turned her eyes downward to her pizza, taking her soda to get a long, slow drink from it as she thought on how to save this situation. She wasn't ready to be rejected!

In all honesty, River had expected Zhi to mock her. Not that she found the girl to be harsh or mean-spirited in any way. It was just that... Zhi seemed to have lots of things she wanted to do and be! She was young and pretty and must have been smart, considering she spoke English so well~ Of course she had plenty of options! What did River have? She had just barely graduated high school, she didn't have many friends at all, and she spent all of her time with her little sister! It was depressing. There was a reason she never spoke about her goals for the future. It made her feel inferior. So she was absolutely certain that Zhi would chastise her, vocalize all of her own insecurities, and decide that she deserved a better friend and role model! (At some point, she had decided that she was Zhi' role model, as she was an older female, and all older females became role models to younger females.)

But lo and behold, Zhi didn't mock her. In fact, she said something nice! Sweet, even! River gave Zhi a startled look. Did she really just hear her correctly? Did she really just propose that? She opened and closed her mouth a few times as she strained to find words. After searching for a proper response, she decided to just give up, and she laughed softly. "Thank you, Zhi," she chuckled, so flattered that she turned pink. She smiled at the girl widely before standing up. "Elliot, I'll take your plate. Yours too, Zhi, if you're done," she offered, taking Elliot's plate and spinning around to wash them in the sink. She turned on the water, but didn't do anything. She smiled to herself as she stood at the sink. How silly of her, to think that Zhi would ever be cruel to her. And how silly of her to get depressed over something so trivial! It didn't matter that she didn't have some great career plans like Zhi, as long as she had her friends and family, right? Even if it did sound so cheesy that her ears turned bright red just thinking about it. Quickly, she wiped her eyes with the back of her wrist and began to wash the plates in the sink. "You know, Zhi, you should come by more often. It's really nice having you over, you know?" she said to them, though she still refused to turn around.

Oh, God, Zhi was stupid. River looked stunned by the idea, which of course meant she hadn't ever considered it which lead to the idea that she never even saw Zhi as a proper hu- wife! Because they would have to get married and – was that allowed – well, maybe, she would have to check the laws, but there wasn't a point in checking the laws when Zhi wasn't going to get married! She finished that all too long drink of soda, but kept it at her lips to at least mock-drink it. It felt like it had taken forever before Zhi could do much of anything, but the moment, which really was only but a moment, had passed with River's thanks. ..Did that mean she was alright with it? Zhi set her cup down instantly, a short-lived clack sounding while River stood. Was she blushing? ..Then.. was it safe to assume.. This was an acceptance?! If Zhi became an idol and supported River, then River would marry her?! Her face highlighted with a fresh layer of pink – she had a chance! She would work hard! Very hard, if she had to! In fact, she was so pumped up she was ready to do some actual studies so she could graduate and then get started!

She let River take her plate with an eager nod, returning that smile with just as much intensity, if not more. Look at how happy River was!! She wanted to be with her~! She wasn't just saying it to please Zhi, not that she would, but it was a desire now and Zhi would have to fulfill it, no questions on it. She kept an eye on River while she went to the sink, her hands clasping together tightly in a silent squeal of victory. She wanted to hug her! Thank her! Kiss her! So many things she could be doing right then and she had no clue where to begin! But, River was probably waiting for marriage! She wouldn't accept her until she was an idol, so all of that pent up joy had to stay where it was.

Her hands trembled with the energy and so did her voice to the slightest degree. “Yes! Yes, I'll be very happy to come over often! Anytime you need me or want me, I'll come over!” She gave a few more nods excitedly and looked at Elliot, “We should start studying now or else we won't be able to graduate, right?” She stood up from the table and took Elliot by the arm to pull her up as well, her tone just a little too peppy for Zhi.

Elliot was startled when Zhi picked her up from her chair. Uh... sure... okay," she said with a slight nod. She looked over at her sister for a moment before walking out of the kitchen.

"Ah, uhm, have fun!" River called after them before looking back to the sink. 'Have fun'? How stupid. It was studying! How could it be fun? She scratched her cheek bashfully before she set about cleaning the kitchen. Zhi had made her feel better, and she was in a good mood again. Might as well direct that positive energy into cleaning!

Elliot was confused. What had happened back there? She had done a lot of research on human behavior throughout the years, and... that sounded like a proposal! Usually there was a ring or a declaration of love involved in a marriage proposal, but Zhi had just suggested financially supporting River, which was usually an assumed aspect to marriage. And River hadn't gotten angry, she had thanked her! How strange! It was Zhi! And River! Zhi and River and! Ahhh, she just didn't understand!

She waited until they were upstairs in her room. All of a sudden, she closed the door behind them and looked at Zhi intently. "Zhi, do you like River?" she asked. That was the only conclusion she could come up with, but she still couldn't really understand.

Zhi smiled back at River as she called after them, still just as happy when she left the room as she had been when she was there. She didn't say anything as she walked up the stairs, simply smiling brightly and inwardly skipping about in excitement until they were in the room.

Once they were inside Elliot's bare room again, she pumped a fist in the air and gave a small, joyful hop in victory. She didn't think she would get to win this quickly! Well, she still had other things to do before she could claim River, but that meant she had a chance and that was more than Zhi believed she would at this point! She expected years before she could get anything! Ha, she bet Mao didn't even get this close to her principal! She couldn't wait to shove it in his face! She looked at Elliot and, in the same second as the motion, she flung her arms around the shorter and sighed out dreamily. “That had went so well! Did you see how happy she was~?” She rushed out in a low voice, uncertain how thin the walls were in the place. She pulled back and went to her knees to get to her bag, looking at Elliot blankly. Well, the cat would be out of the bag now that River had accepted~ There wasn't any fear the woman would be grossed out or hate her now! “I love her!” She said with certainty that could only be obtained by a teenage girl, having trouble holding back her smile. She couldn't wait to write this down in her diary when she got home~!

And Zhi managed to surprise a Park sister yet again. She... well, the only word Elliot could come up with was 'gushing'. She watched the girl bounce around her room. Really? She was this excited just because of something River had done? She smiled and thanked her, and now Zhi was overflowing with... well, whatever this was. Elliot was confused. Zhi was a confusing girl, but... this was an all new level of confusing.

Next thing she knew, she was pulled into a hug. She froze. Was Zhi sick? What was wrong with her? Usually their friendship consisted of them merely existing next to each other, not anything that would make them close enough to hug. So she let the girl hug her until Zhi let go, leaving her to stand there awkwardly. River was happy? River was always happy! Was it really any more than usual? She hadn't noticed. And to top it all off, Zhi just didn't say she liked River, she loved River. Elliot was startled by the intensity of her statement. "You love River?" she asked with a confused look. "But it's different than how I love River... right?" Of course it was. Zhi wasn't her sister. It wasn't a familial love, she could at least tell that much. She was struggling to understand, and she wouldn't be able to get that far just in her head. "Like... in a romantic way?" She knew Zhi always liked River, since the Tomato Festival. But when had it switched from 'personal idol' to something more? "And you meant what you said before?"

Did Zhi really need to answer that? She glanced back at Elliot to give her a look that just screamed 'Duh'. It would just be creepy if Elliot shared her love of River! It almost made her shudder just thinking of it..! She shook her head free of those thoughts and just went on to opening her bag to discover that.. she hadn't taken any textbooks with her. So, she guessed that meant no studying.. She raised an eyebrow at herself – not even one book? This sucked! She was all pumped to get started, too.. Oh, well. She took out her nightgown instead and stood up, turning back to Elliot. “Yes, in a romantic way, and yes, I meant what I said. I'm going to become an idol and support River!” She announced firmly, to both herself and Elliot. She would be happy to be the man in that area – she just needed to figure out how.

She held the gown to her chest and stared at the girl for a few seconds. Well, she admitted to loving River, she wasn't going to admit to everything.. “..Turn around.” She should be happy that they didn't have to change next to each other in a locker room or else she wouldn't be able to preserve some hidden truths~ But, the thought of school alone had her frowning. Ugh, Judith. “What do you think will be easier? Modeling, acting, singing..?” She asked aloud, trying to figure out where she should begin in the whole 'idol' path. She didn't think she could just get handed a microphone, script, and swimsuit at once, after all. She wasn't that naïve.

So that's how it was. Even though Elliot had practically figured it out on her own (all Zhi had to was confirm!), hearing it out loud made it sound a little more real. She didn't know what to say, so she stared at her friend for a moment until she spun around as instructed. What was she doing? Oh, changing. It was a sleepover! She had almost forgotten, what with River's involvement and using studying as an excuse. And at sleepovers you slept! That's what the 'sleep' meant! She glanced off towards the side at her own sleepwear, neatly folded at the foot of her bed.

She furrowed her brow at the question, but Zhi couldn't see the change in expression. Or expression, period. Modeling, acting, singing? That's what she was going to do? Oh, well, being an idol wasn't just being cute, it required skills! "Well..." she began, placing her hand against her chin thoughtfully. "Acting is one of the harder industries to break into, I hear. And modeling can create eating disorders and unhealthy lifestyles... Can you sing?" she asked, glancing over her shoulder at Zhi before remembering that she was supposed to be looking away.

Meanwhile, River had finished cleaning up their dishes and wrapping up the leftovers -- clumsily, of course. Alex would probably redo it all when he got home, but for the time being, it was the thought that counts. She had even started to pick up the living room when she noticed how late it was getting. So, she gathered up the pillows and blankets and rolled them all up into a big mess (she was terrible at folding~) for Zhi to use~

As soon as Elliot turned around, Zhi started to unbutton her dress, turning her back towards the girl just to make sure she couldn't peak. So, acting was hard, huh? She figured it would be.. Plus, she doubted she would be any good as an actor without paying for some classes or something. She spent a second folding her dress, not wanting to crease the outfit she wore when River accepted her love~ She would have to frame it! Take a patch of fabric and put it in her picture album~ ..Wait, was that romantic or creepy? Zhi paused to debate on that when Elliot asked her about singing.

On reflex, as most would when they're speaking to someone, she turned her head over her shoulder to look at the back of the girl's head.. only to meet with a pair of wide, blank orbs looking back at her. She paled and let out a shriek in that instance, two hands diving down to cover her private areas. Until she realized that she was still turned away from Elliot, that is. That split second of panic slowly lowered it's guard as she glared back at the girl, unwilling to uncover herself even with the assurance that Elliot couldn't see her front. “Turn back around.” She hissed warningly – really! Zhi didn't think the girl was dumb enough to kill the mood like that! Now she was only angry, nervous, and a little mix of some other emotions rather than the joy she was prancing about in earlier.
