Leo knew a case of stubborness when he saw it. Shoot, he himself was a walking case of serious mule-head! His mate was much the same. Time to approach from a different angle!
"Alright then, if you're sure." Leo put on his best doubtful and hesitatant face. He turned and ran to shimmy up the nearest tree. "I guess, see you around." And with his green coat, he vanished.
If Charis suspected there was more to the sudden disappearance, he'd be right. Rather than waste time convincing the unsure Phim, Leo plotted to follow him. If things got bad he could step in, and if not Charis would never know! Seemed fool-proof!
((I'll let you decide where the RP goes next. You can end it if you want, or do a time skip to some dilemna that Charis really does need Leo's help for XD ))

(Lets let Leo help poor Charis out one more time. I read your post and this was what popped into my head….)
Charis winced. He looked at the ground and sighed. Feeling the blood rushing to his head he was a bit worried about fainting. He really felt stupid. He knew he should have asked Leopold for help.
Swaying gently Charis made a grasp at what he thought would be a branch in reach. No such luck. The modeites where not going to be that nice to him it seemed.
Shortly after having left Leo Charis saw a nice apple tree. The only problem was that the only apples that were on the tree were up at the top on the outside. Charis really surprised himself for being able to climb up and get them. He managed to get up onto a branch that lead out to a beautiful juicy able after quite a few missteps and scraps . He was much more a flier then a climber but his hunger made him determined to succeed. Just as he was withing reach of his delectable prize the branch gave a sudden loud crack and fell away from under Charis. He yelped as he started to tumble afraid he would damage his other wing. He needn’t have worried though. The wrapping for his wing had caught the surrounding branches at just the right time to leave Charis facing the ground dangling like a large fuzzy doll.. He had tried swaying back and forth to grab a branch but that didn’t work, and the wrappings were holding his weight just fine. Ah hell.

Leo sighed. He knew he had made the right call in following Charis. For a nonclimber with a busted wing he'd done alright getting up the tree. He should have known that branch would never had held his weight though. The best solution would have been to stand on a safe point in the branch and bounce it until the apple fell, or find a stick to attempt to knock it down.
Apple trees didn't grow by themselves, or if they did they didn't stay that way for too long. Leo himself was occupying one such tree, a young one with apples that were still a bit too unripe to be eaten. It was only a short hop to the ground the the green male was sauntering over to Charis.
He didn't say anything, just lifted a single brow.

Charis saw Leo after Leo had walked under the tree he was suspended from. The shame in Charis’s face was palpable. He didn’t want Leo to see him hung here trapped in this tree after having refused Leopold’s offer of assistance. He sighed mentally and looked at Leo. So what are you doing all the way out here Leo?
Truth be told Charis had already figured out that based on Leo’s appearance only when trouble had happened that Leo had decided to follow him just in case Charis did anything stupid. It is a good thing he followed me but now I feel like twice the idiot I felt like before when I didn’t know I was being watched!
Charis swayed a little in his branch and vine harness. If it’s not too much trouble could I bother you to help me again Leopold?

"Yea, give me a sec." Leo bounded up into the apple tree in a thrice. Soon he was at the branch that managed to capture the poor Phim's ivy bandage. It revealed another surprise.
That branch must have reeeally wanted that vine, because Charis was being held in place by a fork in the branch that only extended up three inches.
Leo stared at it measuringly, then down at Charis. "Your wings hollow or solid bone?"

Hollow for flying but quite strong. Why? Charis swallowed hard. Just what was Leo planning. Charis was a bit nervous.
Turning his head at a rather awkward angle Charis did his best to look up at Leo. Leopold what are you planning to do? Charis flapped his good wing once in agitation which only lead to the poor fox being spun around in his harness.

"Try. Try to do. I'm going to try to lift you about four inches to unhook this ivy. If that doesn't work then one of us will just have to bite through it." Leo looked down at Charis. "Either way, I'm thinking you'll have to drop. Lucky for you apple trees are much smaller, so it shouldn't damage anything else."

Oh lucky me I’m the only Phim in the world who could get hooked on a twig! Alright Leo. I’m as ready as I think anyone could possibly in this strange situation. After this I’m staying out of trees for at least a week! By then my wing should at least start to mend since I didn’t break anything and I’ll be ok. Charis shifted his feet as much as he could so that if Leo could lift him those precious inches he could land safely. Charis wasn’t stupid. Flying or falling landing was always the most dangerous part.

Leo took a few moments to make sure his paws were placed just so. The downside for apple trees being smaller meant that the branches weren't as wide. And lifting Charis' weight meant that his footing would have to be firm, or he could end up hurting himself.
He grabbed the vine in his jaws and carefully worked around it to make sure it wouldn't snap as he hauled. As ready as he'd ever be, Leo pulled!
Man, Phims were heavy! The muscles in Leo's neck and back screamed for him to drop the weight, but he resisted. Inch by inch he pushed himself, until the vine was high enough to move to the side so Leo could release Charis to the ground.
This was something he had forgetted though. In moving his head forward to let Charis drop he overbalanced himself, and his right front foot slipped. Charis' weight was still pulling him, and together the Phim and fox fell to the earth.

Charis landed alright. A little bit more pressure his his front paws then he would have liked, but what else could have happened hanging as he had been. He thought he was in the clear as soon as he landed he was happy. Then only a fraction of a second after his hind feet touched down. He felt a weight landing on his back. The elated feeling in his heart quickly died down. Did the whole branch break? Charis's body took some weight but the way he had landed saved him again. His legs acted as shock absorbers slowing the object that was falling on him but also lessening it's impact on him as they folded under him. He was sore but nothing was broken. Turning his head he saw green fur. He didn't say a word to Leo, Charis just smiled and lifted an eyebrow. Well, well, well. Even a squirrel can fall out of a tree.

"Next time you decide to get stuck in a tree, pick a bigger tree," Leo grumbled, laying where he fell. He was slowly flexing muscles and making sure nothing was damaged. Turns out nothing was. A few bumps and bruises, but those would heal up in no time. He rolled over on his belly then gathered his legs beneath him and pushed himself up.

Ha. If I picked a bigger tree to fall out of you might have ended up having to lift me up further to unhook me, and of course we would have fallen further and landed harder. Charis looked at Leo the grin on his face not fading. Thanks again Leo

"No problem," he replied. If he planned to say anything else he was so very rudely interrupted when about half a dozen apples decided things were too lively in the tree and came tumbling down. Curse delayed effects.....

Charis laughed. Ironically as he started to make a comment teasingly at Leo, Charis was struck by an apple on the head. You know I think this tree is just mean and spiteful. I don’t know about you but I think the sooner that we are away from this tree the better. If not a branch might come down next.

"Please don't say that, I'm still under the tree," Leo begged, quickly moving away. He took Charis' words seriously; he knew some grumpy trees. He left the apples on the ground, not being very hungry and not wanting to risk the posibility of a belly ache.
"Let's find something else to eat. Maybe find a nicer tree."
