Horus tried not to laugh. Actually there was more to telling the river was about to go violent and began heavily flooding as a fox he was able to tell some thing was coming in the river as was the other animals. However in this case he could see the rising of the river do to a more man made structure. “Yes and no, if you look over there at that abandoned human structure there is a slab of the rock partially in the water. It has little notches to let you know what level the water in the river is. It’s higher than normally meaning the start of the flood is happening. There are all sorts of buildings like this along the river in kemet territory.” He told her.

Fascinating. Rynn listened to Horus's little spiel about the river. She politely coughed though to interrupt after he explained how he knew the river was flooding. If the river is flooding do you need to make any arrangements? Batten down the hatches and get to higher ground or whatnot? If so I'll help.Honestly she didn't know the know the first thing about what to do in a flood but she figured she should help the elder of this land. Rynn turned her head toward the fox she supposed was Hitoru who had fallen. The poor fox is gonna need all the help he can get.

Jaci looked up at the pyramid next to them. Even a fox versed in water would tell the structure was quite old. The rock was crumbling in many places, but on the whole the thing was in excellent condition.
"Wouldn't think we're in great danger right now. Unless there's a really big storm comin', the river won't swell at this moment. And we would have time to get away." She flicked her tail at the pyramid to show what she meant. "Look. It shows very little water damage, so the water prob'ly doesn't get too bad over here. Somethin' that old, the river would have torn it down by now if it did."
Jaci felt reasonably sure with her assumption, but looked to Horus for confirmation.
((We should make a map..... Just a simple paint map or something, so we know where everything is in relation to everything, and also were all the sand is and where the green stuff is. I could do it, but I fear what I have in my head will differ from what it's supposed to be >.> ))

After tumbling his way down the pyramid he landed with a soft thud in the warm sand below. He moaned a little felling sore and dizzy after his little joy ride. Note to ones self... never run down the side of a pyramid when in a hurry.
"Ow..." He looked up at the foxes and Horus. "I'm... Ok... I think..."
He tried to get up but his right paw was hurting. He must have landed on it when he fell. He sighed feeling like a complete idiot having ruined his mates cool look with this clumsiness. He looked away embarrassed. He figured he should probably just stay out of the way but looked up when he felt a tongue on his paw. He blushed a little seeing Horus licking it.
"I... i'm fine Horus... really."
He blushed then gave his mate a quick lick on the muzzle as a thank you. Now that was over he felt like vanishing. Maybe he could burry himself in the sand with nothing but his eyes and nose showing. He then soon realized that everyones attention was on the river and once again his mate had done that 'I'm going to vanish and re appear somewhere else before you could notice' thing. He quickly made his way over to them.
"Hey the Ahket is starting." He looked over at the little kit that was standing in between him and his mate then to the other foxes that had followed Horus to the river. "Hello." His tail wagged happily. "My name his Hitoru... I uhh... didn't quite get to introduce my self..."
Once he had his drink Amun raised his head and noticed that that the animals around him were making all kinds of noises. He also noticed that where he hand been standing the water had rose and now his front paws were submerged under the water. He blinked and took a step back not understanding what was going on. Of course as soon as he took a step back that paw was soon submerged under the cool water. By the looks of it the river was getting bigger. How? he had no idea he just figured it would be best to get some distance.
He quickly backed up toward what he hoped was out of harms way. Once back he watched the crocodiles with rather amusing interest. He didn't know weather they were happy or freaking out due to the rise in water level. He looked over to left and noticed the group of foxes he had seen earlier were all gathered near the river. He figured if anyone would know what was going on these desert foxes would.
"Excuse me..." He walked up to them slowly to make sure he didn't scare any of them. The last time he had encountered other foxes he had scared them off due to his size. "Can ether of you explain whats going on with the river?"

Rynn only shrugged at Jaci's comment. Horus will eventually say what would have to be done. Rynn looked at the Phim who was approaching. Oh the river is apparently flooding. It's a good thing from what I understand. My name's Rynn. Why not come over and sit in the shade? It's much cooler then roasting in the sun. She smiled a bit trying to be nice. She couldn't help but remember Anila who she loved teasing as she looked at the Phim.

“The water can occasionally get this high but most of the time the irrigation system diverts it so the pyramids are pretty safe. The water shouldn’t get that high until next month and the river will continue rising until September. However the bottom of these pyramids is granite so they are safe from water damage. Hmmm preparation, yes I do hate to start moving up river a bit but I don’t think I have to worry about that quite yet. If the river reaches the level it should I would love your help if you are still here. However I should check the irrigation tunnels to make sure everything is still working.” Horus explained. He looked over towards the new arrival glad the phim had decided to land around here. “Oh Hello there, ah yes the river… as Rynn stated the Nile is flooding. It is a very good thing as it allows the greenery to spread back.” Horus stated.

Jaci looked at Horus, curious. "Tunnels? How would you inspect a tunnel? Do you swim through it?" From her questions it seemed the perma was intriuged by the land. She had never been in or heard of a place quite like this one.

Horus smiled and thought on the best way to describe them. “Yes I suppose some are under the ground and need to be checked by swimming through them. The others are more like Canals and I can just walk by them to see that they are distributing water properly. I remember how to do it from when I was young and my parents took me. We often went with the humans that used to live here.” Horus reminisced. “Although a rather large and powerful storm I know damaged some of them. I wish Atum had thought to send me gatherers to help repair them. I’ll probably have to go to the temple and talk with Atum to see how to fix them myself. Would everyone like to come with me?” He knew they couldn't talk with the modeity or hear them but Atum used other methods to tell people what he wanted. Some times he gave them little visions or had an animal of his nature walk by. Other times images on the wall would come to life before going eerily silent again

Jaci shrugged. "Lead the way, Heru. If I can help, I will." The permakit thought her best bet would be swimming through the tunnels. She knew Horus could swim, and she was sure the others could as well, but she didn't think any of them could swim as well as she could.

I'll go. Rynn waved a paw. It could be interesting to see how an elder prayed to the modeities. Rynn didn't really know if she would be of help but why not. It's not like she had better things to do with her time at the moment.

Hitoru sighed as he sat down and looked out into the water. It would seem he didn't make that good of a first impression on the others. He sat watching the crocks fight one another for some reason on the other side of the bank when he noticed the 'Phim that came walking over. His coat was interesting but nothing like the little kits coat. He nodded to the 'Phim as he walked by.
"Hello... names Hitoru..."
Amun looked over at the black and yellow fox then to the orange one. They were rather friendly and that meant that he wouldn't have to worry about being attacked... not that he couldn't take on a fox but 4 he would have a problem with. He nodded his head to the two and smiled.
"My name is Amun... pleasure to meet you." He smiled at Rynn. "Shade sounds good." He walked over to her passing the Black and yellow fox. He seemed to be sad about something. "I see... so the river is brining life to the shores." He listened to the the fox with the strange coat talk. "I assume you are the Elder of this tribe?" He nodded interested. "I will follow as well... I'm rather interested to hear more of your tribe..."
Hitoru watched the fox pass him. He was an interesting 'Phim... nothing like Hibari or the others. He listened to Horus explain more about the tribe though he really wasn't interested. He didn't answer Horus question to come with him. With all the new foxes around he figured it would be crowded enough walking through the halls.

She took a mental note to remember the clumsy one was the Elder's mate. Fyra listened to Horus explain the raising waters and how that was good news. "Do we have a way to celebrate this good news?" She stood up to follow them to help out where she could. There wasn't much she was doing at the moment anyways and well maybe she could watch for attacks or something.

Horus walked over at the nudged Hitoru on the cheek knowing his mate seemed rather depressed. It would be very non mate like of him to just leave Hitoru here to bake in the sun. “Its okay if you first impression was a little bad. Everyone has mishaps. Just laugh it off and brighten up. I still like you and would love for you to come with me to the temple. There is more than enough room for the group to fit in.” Horus smiled before leaning back. “So I’ll lead the way then” Horus nodded seeing as most everyone was going with him to the temple any how.
Getting to the next question in the group he turned towards Fyra. “Ah well normally we get a rest of complete festivals and dancing and singing and generally doing nothing except for of course the occasional hunting and we bring the statues of Atum out of the temple and line them down the banks of the river. This year we don’t have enough food for the event since the land is just beginning to come back so I’m probably going to skip the even this year any ways.
He finally turned back to the very large phim and nodded quite used to seeing them considering one of his very good friends was a phim. “Yes I am” he smiled and then chuckled a bit the phim reminding him of something. He turned back to Jaci. “By the way Persephone is here” he smiled. “She’s actually up at the temple sleeping of all things”

"Sephy," Jaci said, her voice disbelieveing. "Why didn't you tell me before!" Jaci would have dashed off to the temple, had she known where the temple was.
A glance back showed the black and yellow Hitoru just standing there, looking lonely. Jaci knew what it was like to feel left out. She sighed. Compassion wasn't something she did easily since she wasn't very good at relating, but she figured she may as well give it a shot.
Jaci drifted to the back of the group until she popped out by Hitoru. She trotted up to him and weaved through his front legs, something she knew evoked parenting instincts in foxes. She only made two quick laps to get his attention before backing off. "You gonna come?"

Hitoru looked up after something or rather some one nudged his cheek. He spotted Horus who was standing right in front of him. Had he not stopped his head in time they would have bumped muzzles. Of course that wouldn't have been a big deal but it would have been rather embarrassing.
"A little bad?" He looked at him with a 'yeah right' look. "I tumbled down a giant pyramid and landed face first in the sand..." His ears went down. "That goes to the top of my Clumsy Things I Did list."
He blinked when Horus mentioned everyone had mishaps. Ok... that was true. Everyone did have those. Though not everyone tumbles down a giant stone triangle. He also was right about laughing about it. Even Hitoru thought it probably looked rather amusing to watch him role in a ball down the steep slope.
"Your right... It was rather funny... and kinda fun." Only he could say that. "Alright..." He smiled. "I'll come too. why not." he then looked at him surprised. "You... you want me to lead the way?"
He sat there for a moment in thought. He didn't even hear his mate mention that he was going to start leading them to the temple. Though he was soon brought out of it by Jaci who he noticed was weaving through his front legs.
"Uhhh right!" He stood and cleared his throat. "On my way." He looked down at the little kit. "Did I get a chance to say hi to you?" he didn't quite remember.
Amun smiled as he watched the the two male mates talk with etch other. He was glad to know that the one called hitoru seemed to be ok and that he apparently tumbled down one of the pyramids. He must have missed that when he was looking for a place to lad. Pore fox. That couldn't have been fun. He looked up when the Elder stated he would lead the way.
He stood and took a few steps closer to the group so that he wouldn't fall behind.
"I thought so." His reply to Horus being the Elder. "Your celebrations sound like fun." he smiled. So far he was liking the sound of the tribe and the way they did things. It was true that he hadn't visited many tribes but for some reason here he felt like he belonged.
