The purple goop splashed on Beaker's breast-plate and she looked down at it curiously. It smelled terrible... Beaker's head raised and she stared at the little electric type before letting out a great roar. Glorious combat! At last!
"B-Beaker, Skull bash!" Nyx was intimidated by her Blastoise. She was battle hungry and large.
The turtle heard the command, but had a better idea. Roared again, but this time a ball of light blue light formed in her mouth and then shot out towards the other pokemon in an Ice Beam attack.
"Beaker, hey, listen to me!" This was frustrating.
(1-85 poison, 86-100 not)

Ire squeaked in surprise at the hug thing and really didn't want to fight it anymore. Skull bash sounded painful! She turned to run away from the attack, but was hit with the icebeam. The attack sent the pokemon skittering across the floor, knocked out. Mau called her back. He though a moment. Ran still had some fight left in her. Having a water on water battle would probably get tedious.
"Alright Ran, come on back out!" He tossed the battle worn pidgeot back out.
"GOOOT!" She eyed the white turtle.
"Twister."

Yes! She was victorious! Beaker roared in triumph, but her celebration was cut short when another challenger appeared. The Blastoise narrowed her eyes at the bothersome bird.
And then there was the twister to deal with. Beaker assumed sumo position once again and took the twister head on. It hurt, but when all was said and done, she was still standing.
What she didn't notice was the toxic seeping through her breastplate.
"Beaker, do that thing again! Ice Beam!" Luckily for Nyx, that was what she had been planning on doing, so it almost seemed like she was following orders.

Ran took the the blow head on. The ice rushing past her ears made it hard to hear what her master said. what was that? Try? High? FLY! That had to be it. She flapped her wings to get over the ice attack, feeling woozy and weakened. But then she launched herself right towards the blastoise.

As the bird took time to gain air and momentum for a fly attack, Beaker made preparations for a Skull Bash attack. Nyx watched as her Blastoise prepared to meet the attack head on. Literally.
Maybe it was better that she didn't command her pokemon. Most of them seemed to know what to do all on their own... Especially Beaker. Though, what Nyx didn't realize, was that Beaker's health was slowly waning due to poison. The Blastoise was too proud to show sign of weakness.

Ran's head collided with Beakers with an audible crack sound. If a bird could limp while flying, that is what Ran was doing. The impact had shaken her quite a bit, and she seemed stunned. Mau smirked and called her back. Beaker was a pretty good pokemon.
"Alright Aki!" He tossed out the vaporeon. The first thing the blue-eyed wonder did was roll on his back, expecting some petting, but saw the other pokemon. Ok, fight now, play later. "Aqua ring!" Aki spun around once, creating a soothing barrier of water around himself.

Nyx sighed. There was nothing to be done. Beaker was her last pokemon, and when it came to a battle between water pokemon, Vaporeon had a leg up.
"Beaker, don't hit him with water, Skull Bash!" It was sort of sad. Beaker was a proud and strong pokemon, even with the little training Nyx had given her.
The blastoise lowered her head in preparation for her attack, raising her defense at the same time. Hopefully she held on for that long... the poison was slowly taking its toll.

Mau thought about going easy on Nyx. But, somehow he didn't think Beaker would feel it was a fulfilling battle if he did. And Nyx... Needed the experience. Loosing was a good way of learning. "Ice beam."
"Por!" Aki puffed up his chest and fired the freezing beam at Beaker as she readied herself for another Skull Bash.

The charging tank of a turtle powered into the ice beam and kept on going, straight towards Aki. Little icicles hung from and broke off of Beaker's shell. She'd never admit to how close to defeat she was. The turtle's vision was cloudy. There would be no more attacks after this charge. The toxic had taken its toll.

Aki tumbled back with the attack before climbing to his feet. The aqua ring made him feel better as it restored some of his strength. Mau decided to go out with a water attack. "Surf."
Of course by this point, Mau wasn't sure if it was needed or not.

Beaker stumbled and fell as the wave crashed over her. Nyx flinched when the water receded and all that was left was the island shell of a defeated Blastoise. She returned the pokemon to its ball and sighed. Defeat had been inevitable. Nyx's shoulders slumped. There was a reason, besides overwhelming fear, that she didn't battle.

Mau called Aki back and walked across the wet floor and extended his right hand to her. "That was a pretty good battle. You have decent instincts when it comes to... some things in a battle." He smiled warmly at her. "Now, how about we go and heal them up?"

"Mm..." Nyx seemed to whine and growl at the same time. How embarrassing, losing to Mau of all people! Not only that, but he saw her at her most vulnerable. She looked at his hand for a moment. Why did he have to be so nice after beating her? Her ego was damaged, she wasn't sure what to do.
"Fine." She said more to herself than to Mau. Nyx grabbed his hand with her right and shook it roughly and quickly, then let go and crossed her ams to pout. "Lets go."

Mau smiled at her and shook her hand. "You did really well." He said before motioning her to join him, heading to the clinic to heal up their teams.
