Arya's young mind was getting impatient, what were those two doing out there! It wasn't like he had anywhere to go, but still these females sure knew how to take their time in the water.
Miko giggled, "Heliosyne, you are so fun to play with, I've never swam with an Adahy before, thank you."
Nara watched them and smiled. She spoke up. "A hem, boarder patrol is one of the important tasks of the Di'Taki, making sure that no intruders trespass on our land, especially Adahy. They are not welcome here. And any Di'Taki crossing the boarders, must pass through the boarder patrol." She narrowed her eyebrows.
"Hahaha, but I am just in training, hopefully someday I will fulfill the duty, as of now, I am enjoying you're company, and I haven't met another female Di'Taki, Heliosyne, and you are so beautiful."
Miko laughed, "Well since we're all friends I guess lets get back to shore, I think there are some MALE, Di'Taki awaiting us, but which way to go?"

Heliosyne chortled at Nara's compliment, clearly satisfied with her words. She didn't understand why the Adahy were unwelcome, or what intruders were (why would a Grimshaw hurt another?), but she did understand that Nara was kind and certainly was an enjoyable presence. Hearing Miko's question, she gave a soft call and bounced over toward the side of the river where Arya was, sloshing water all about in the process.
Realizing his nap was in vain, Cyranis uttered a hiss and lifted his head. Wait. Wait.
Who was that?
The male jumped to his claws, bristling as he stalked to the edge of the water, all ten eyes narrowed on Nara's form. She seemed familiar, and yet she was clearly a stranger. It appeared that she had already become friends with Heliosyne and Miko - typical females, never worrying about the dangers of strangers.

Miko swam to the shore closest to Cyranis, she could pick out his colors. They contrasted so vividly from the brown and green forest. She would have never seen Arya especially in the morning light.
Nara: "I guess I will follow the small one, although I am not sure what kind of creature it is. I see another Di'Taki on the shore, male it appears, very bright!"
"Heliosyne are you coming?" Nara called back.
Arya: "Why are they going to the other shore! I will have to wait longer." He slumps down on a rock, and puts his face in his claws. "Why, why did I get involved with these stangers? I need to find someone to wrestle with...now!"

Heliosyne meant to nod enthusiastically to Nara, but forgot to close her mouth and ended up with a mouth full of stream water. Spitting it out all over the place, the female crawled up onto the rocks next to the stream, still in good spirits. She snuggled against Cyranis, ignoring the fact that he appeared quite poofy and paranoid.
The male, however, was not in such an amiable mood. He eyed the newcomer with suspicion, hissing, "A new friend, I take it, Miko?" He was clearly unimpressed with all of the hitchhikers they were picking up. "And where did that boy get off to?"

Miko looked up at Cyranis in a very scared and nervous sort of way.
"Ummm well no actually she swam up to us...she seems rather friendly though," she tried to smile, but it wandered off.
Nara got out of the water and stood on the shore closer to Miko, and as far away as she could from Cyranis.
"Hello, my name is Nara," she bowed her head, she was not about to upset a male Di'Taki, she had been brought up to treat them with respect.
"I mean you no harm, I am training to be a border patrol and was swimming from lake Ha'tooka, down stream, you need to have endurance to cover all areas of our land," she nodded her head softly.
Arya had watched them climb out of the other side of the river, but there was a another Di'Taki with them, it looked to be another female! How many more where they going to encounter? He wondered. Eh, well, he thought I hope this one will at least wrestle. Should I swim back over to the other side? He wondered, what if this Di'Taki was dangerous. He thought about Miko and dove into the water.

Cyranis was just about to reply to the newcomer when he heard a splash from the other side. Tilting awkwardly to the side, he peered over and saw the other male making his clumsy way to this side. He shook his head and then turned his gaze back to Nara. She did seem friendly. And more intelligent than their other unwelcome guest, Arya. Finally, grudgingly, he growled, "I'm Cyranis. Welcome." Border patrol...an odd profession for a female. Of course, fertile females were in great supply - it was reproducing males that were an issue. And the ones that were fertile were...He pictured Arya as a father for a moment, and had to restrain from drowning himself in the river.
Ears pointed back, Heliosyne caught the splash of Arya descending into the river. Whirling, tongue loose as usual, she dove into the water as well and began swimming towards the male. "Play!?"
The currently-dull male shook his head before turning to Miko irritably. "Did you want to stay here or keep going?" Judging from Cyranis' irritability and bloodshot eyes, it was apparent that he wanted a nap, but ultimately he was in the human's debt. For now.

Arya swam towards Heliosyne. Play? Finally! He thought. Ducking under the water he swam underneath her pulling at her tail feathers before coming to the surface and giving her a big wave splash with his hands. He didn't notice the other female, he laughed and kept diving in and out of the water making big splashes around Heliosyne. Coming to the surface he looked at her. "Play tag?"
Miko walked over closer to Cyranis. She could tell that he was growing weary of all the antics around him. She bowed slightly. "Thank you, Cyranis for taking me this far, I am greatly indebted to you. I believe I can carry on now from here and I do not want to further impede on your original tasks. I did set off on this journey alone and understand the risks."
Nara watched the other male in the water with curiosity.

She giggled as she felt her tail feathers pulled, ducking underwater for a just a moment. Wait, where was he? Coming up to the surface, Heliosyne was immediately overcome by a wave of water. Ooooh, how'd he do that? The female, upon hearing the word tag, lunged at Arya excitedly. Tag!
Wait. He wasn't in her debt anymore? Cyranis eyed the human skeptically, suddenly very aware of the cool stones around his neck. She was releasing him from duty, and her certainly wanted to get away from the growing parade of Di'taki, but...He peered over to Arya and Heliosyne playing in the water nearby. She clearly didn't want to leave, and though he felt confident she would make her way to his den (whether he wanted her to or not), he still felt oddly reluctant to leave her here. Finally, with a resigned snort, the male replied, "No, I must see this journey through. I agreed to see you to the Elders at the start, and so I will."
It was almost like his duty, and these three harebrains certainly couldn't manage to protect the human on their own.

Arya swam quickly away from Heliosyne, tag was one of his favorite games, he made a big splash to slow her down.
Miko eyed the two playing and laughed, the only way to get to the elders was to swim across the river so she dove in after them.
Nara seeing the human dive into the water suddenly felt obligated to follow her, in case anything could happen she was training to be border patrol after all!
And so the journey towards the elders continued.
Arya saw Miko dive in, "Hurry! Heliosyne is it, don't get tagged!" He called to her as he swam quickly to the other shore.
Nara who also liked tag but liked being around the other female swam close to her playfully dodging her paws.
Miko dove under and swam right underneath Heliosyne closer to where Ayra bobbed in the water.

Heliosyne could understand the concept of tag. If you were it, you grabbed people. If someone else was it, you stayed away from them. Knowing that she was it at the moment, she flailed at the human and Di'taki swimming under her, but missed them. Clumsily she swam after Nara, tongue loose, paws uncoordinated and sending water everywhere.
Well, maybe they would be alright. Cyranis watched the four for a moment more before disappearing off into the woods. He would remain near - if there were problems, Heliosyne knew what to do to call his attention. But a nap sounded so lovely...

Arya swam to the other shore and shook his feathers, she wouldn't be able to get him over here, he thought, hiding behind a large tree.
Miko swam towards Arya, swimming away from Heliosyne's tongue, she could only take so much slobber.
Nara decided to be on Heliosyne's team and swam after Miko and Arya.
It was all very tiring, Miko flopped onto the shore laughing, as Nara licked her face, great she thought more drool!

Seeing that Miko was covered in an acceptable amount of drool, she bounced over to the tree line. Arya had been over here a second ago...She peered around, ears swiveling, listening. She could smell him, but he was nowhere in sight. Heliosyne blinked and stood stock-still, clearly confused.

Arya watched as his companions flopped ashore, he was confused at the site of the new female. He strode up to her defensively puffing his feathers out in order to protect his friends. When he got up closer to her, he noticed they shared the same marking and colorings, which infuriated him more. It was as if he was looking at a female version of himself. She was clearly no harm to Miko, or Heliosyne but he didn't trust the new female.
Nara saw that male, as if a mirror image of herself. She too became defensive as if her identity had been violated. She sprang up and faced the male locking her eyes with his.
The two Di'Taki's circled each other, they were ready for a fight.
Miko was now retelling the violent stories she had heard in her head. Unsure if she should interfere. She decieded against it, if this was a fight and she got involved it would surely be her last. The Di'Taki's were strong and powerful, and she especially did not want to come between a male and female.

Heliosyne grinned stupidly at the two circling Di'taki. Oooh, circle walking! Circle walking was always fun. She bounded around the similarly marked pair, much more energetically than the two. They weren't going fast enough at all! It got boring if you went slowly. The idea was to run in circles until you got dizzy and fell over and the trees were spinning and...

Arya didn't even notice as Heliosyne started following him around, his eyes were locked on the other female, he wouldn't let his gaurd down for a second it would mean certain death. He was excited he had been longing to show off his fighting skills especially in front of Miko
Nara growled at her opponent, and let out a howl, she was ready to fight, this was the ultimate test for boarder control, even if he wasn't an Adahy, he would be good practice for her. She lunged forward, but he caught her attack and rebounded back, she had barely reached his muzzle.
Arya was taken aback that the female had made the first move, but seeing that she was ready for a fight he used the power in his hind legs to jump clear over her, now that she was in front of him he tackled her to the ground, they rolled and kicked at each other.
Nara had forgotten how powerful the male Di'Taki's legs were and wasn't ready for this male to jump right over her head, as her face hit the dirt she quickly flipped onto her back, kicking her front legs out, and nailing her opponent right in the stomach. That should stall him for a bit.
Arya gasped the wind was leaving his lungs, but he let out a growl and swiped at the female.
Miko looked in horror as the two wrestled with each other, hadn't they all been playing in the water just a second ago? What had brought on this fight? Part of her felt it was territorial. They were both strong Di'Taki's, and a very close match for one another, neither one seemed to have the upper hand in the fight. She wished Cyrannis was here, at least he could explain to her what was going on. She continued to watch, Heliosyne was also caught in the middle, she didn't seem to be fighting only mirroring what the other Di'Taki's were doing, whatever they were all doing Miko hoped that no one would get hurt.
