K'tir blinked as N'tren suddenly spoke to him, not really expecting it. "Oh, sure. Sorry, I'm K'tir rider to Cronth." He handed over his ball to the other weyrling.
About time you talk to another rider.
I have talked to others before.
As long as they were female, yes. The dragonet stated matter of factly.
K'tir shook his head and returned his attention to N'tren. "I do hope so. Cronth has no intention of concentrating on this practice. It doesn't interest him. Are you having the same problem?"

Nodding, N'tren accepted the ball and once again held away from Datiath. He could here his bronze complaining in the back of his mind even as he spoke outloud to K'tir. "He doesn't understand the lesson and doesn't care for it too much. But I think the other dragonets are like that..."
Looking over, N'tren noticed another bronze looking at his Datiath. "Cronth is a bronze right? The clutch was kinda big and we stay so busy, I can barely remember whom Impressed who. Though that day, I only had eyes for Datiath."
That is because you were mine and I had to make you see me.

K'tir nodded, he didn't figure that any of the fragonets were very fond of this 'game'. "Yes Cronth is a bonze, he's the one with the lighter snout." He pointed at his dragonet with a fond smile.
Tossing the ball between his hands K'tir shrugged. "I don't blame you for not knowing. There really were a lot of us, and I kinda stay to myself. I wasn't born or raised in a weyr, so I sometimes feel a bit out of place, and even ignorant when it comes to anything concerning weyr or dragons." He scratched his head. "Are you weyrbred?"
Cronth meanwhile craned his neck to get a better look at his rider and N'tren. He felt glad because K'tir seemed to like talking to the other rider.

rimedragona Looking back at R'ael, Remia smiled sympathetically. "It's alright, I wouldn't have expected you to know my name. I'm Remia," she said, and held out a hand for him to shake. "The only reason I know your name is because... well... I practice names so that I don't forget them," she added quietly with a light blush, realizing how strange that might sound. He is embarrassed because he didn't know your name, and you're embarrased because you did know his... I don't understand, mine... Trith said from where she was still sitting with the other dragonets. It is odd, isn't it, love? I guess... I'm embarrassed because I made him embarrassed? That doesn't make much sense either..."Still..." he says apologeticly, taking Remia's hand in his. "Well...you already know my name, so...Nice to really meet you Remia." He smiles. "Maybe I should practice a few names myself..." he nods in the direction of the young dragons, as Jaiereth obligingly shows off by languidly stretching his wings. "Mine's the blue there...with the lighter belly. Jaiereth..."

Most have finished now. Moth rumbled, her tail slightly flicking against the weather worn earth. It was still rather cloudy, and the air was beginning to feel heavier and heavier with moisture. It was wrecking havoc on Farin; who found her hair to be clinging to her face in a most agitating and unflattering fashion as she attempted to focus on the dragonet's progress, prompted by the constant mental input from the green.
Vaguely, Farin clapped her hands together. A few of them were taking to chattering amongst one another, which would have to do for later. "If you are finished- please return here. If you haven't finished the second guessing, then hurry up and do it." She spoke curly, and strode towards the group.
She stopped sharply and turned, facing Moth and the other dragons. "Alright- and now we shall reverse the exercise- although I expect this to be a bit harder. Moth will be showing all of the dragonets a picture. Most likely, your younglings will not understand what the picture is of, so you must try very hard to be able to receive the image from them without knowing what it is. Remember, it is in your best interest for your dragon to get it right- do not have your dragon simply pick up what the others are saying. There will be two images. Please try to locate them from your dragon's mind."
Moth sends two sets of images.
If your dragon's name begins with the letter A-L; The image is of an orange.
If your dragon's name begins with the letter M-Z; The image is of a fern.

Listening to Farin's knew instructions, N'tren whispered quickly, "I was holdbred. Third child, second son. I caught a cart to the weyr and worked the kitchens before Impressing."
Datiath crooned at Cronth before turning his head to the big green Moth. His eyes whirled fast as she impressed on him a picture of an orange. He was not sure what an orange was...only that he was to think of it. Mine...what is in my head?
N'tren waved at K'tir and then jogged up to Farin. Catching what she said and then Datiath talking to him, the bronze rider nodded and tried to focus on his dragon's thoughts.

L'mur closed his mind to Moth, thankful that he'd learned to shut out other dragons when necessary. Ready, Saranth?
The green dragonet nodded and "listened" to Moth. I don't know what this is, but this is what she sent me. A deep green, similar to the color of Saranth's own hide, filled L'mur's mind. Fringe surrounded the main shape, and thready veins winkled through it.
L'mur wracked his memory, trying to match the image to something he knew. Is it.. a plant? A fern!
That is the word Moth said. These fern-things are pretty, Saranth remarked. Although I do not think I would like to eat them..
The greenrider giggled under his breath. No, they are not for eating. Now, pay attention because Moth will probably give you another image to relay.

Jaiereth shifts his feet tensely as the image of the fruit is given to him. A strange thing, it looks like a glossy ball with dimpled skin, and a green spot on one end. Mine...I am puzzled. Do you know what it is? It looks most unpleasent... He attempted to share the image with his rider the way R'ael had shared the pictures of the balls with him. Perhaps this is what the strange thing is? Another kind of ball?
R'ael rubs his chin slightly, staring at the ground as he picks over the image that Jaiereth is trying to share with him. Taking and giving images is different than the words and impressions he's becomeing accustomed to getting from the blue, but he'll have to ponder the matter later. It's a bit harder than he would have thought, to give the blue a good deal of credit for his own speed in picking it up. At first he thinks 'ball'...then maybe 'berry'...which is a lot closer. I think it's an orange...they're a kind of fruit. I guess they do look sort of strange though if you think about it...

G'dor had done relitively well with the first excersise. Hesitant at first because of the strange evasive feeling that it carried with it, but then again his dragon already knew his thoughts. To see what he wa seeing wouldn't be too much of a step past that one. The first ball had been red- but it had taken a few guesses and some time for G'dor to get the color's image into his dragon's mind. Queth constantly had to remind him that it was safe, even then the boy had taken some time to calm his mind enough to show the color to his dragonet. The second time was much easier and by the fourth time- he had taken a few extra rounds to ensure that he had understood the lesson -he was able to do it without much trouble.
The next excercise was a bit strange, he'd be recieving the image of a fruit. Queth recieved the image in his mind, turning his head to the side. G'dor closed his eyes to make the process a bit easier on his mind, that seemed to work well for the ball excercise. Green was the first thing he saw, swaying gracefully against still more green. The outlines sharpened and soon became the image of a plant.
The blue sends this image..., Queth informed G'dor along with the image, I have seen them before.
"Yes... it's a fern..." He opened his eyes and glanced to his dragon with a smile, then turned to check on his brother's progress. He seemed to be doing well.
"Well looks like your dragon did manage to send the image into some manner of brain, good job." He flashed a teasing grin, again just a joke, but it might take their minds off the impending rainfall.

"Oh ha ha...." R'ael snorts, raising an eyebrow at his brother. "I'm surprised you're having any luck at all then..." He fires back, under his breath, with a grin. "You're going to get us both in trouble you know..."

"Can't be too much trouble," He snorted, patting his brown's crown a bit as the dragon nosed at his hand for the attention, "I'm already doing all the laundry on top of my usal duties.."

Interrupted from her conversation with R'ael, Remia turned to listen to the Weyrlingmaster's new instructions.
She nodded, and closed her eyes, hoping to find that she could better see what her dragon was sending.
This is what I see, mine, but what is it? Trith asked, and a hazy image started to drift into Remia's mind. She concentrated more, making the same connection she had with the ball excersize, only in reverse.
The image focused suddenly, and she let out an "Oh!" of surprise.
It's a fern, love! It's a plant, one that grows in the forests. Remia answered her dragon's question, and anticipating her next question, answered it as well.
A fern... I see. Will we send another picture now, mine?
"Yes, dear one, I think so. But we're getting faster at this, now!" she said happily, and opened her eyes to find G'dor nearby, talking with R'ael, and waved to him.
"Hello, G'dor! Did you two get the images? It's getting easier with practice, I think!" she said cheerfully, but trying to be diplomatic, in case it wasn't going well with them. She hadn't heard their results, as she was still talking to her own dragon.

"I think I got mine..." R'ael answers for his part, rubbing the back of his neck. "I think it's an orange...or if it's not an orange I'm going to look darn silly..." He rubs the back of his neck, glancing back toward the weyrling master and wishing he knew for sure.

"My image... oh.. oh yes...", he cleared his throat a bit, feeling a good deal less comfortable, "I... it was a fern... at least I hope so."
He was never the social butterfly that many of th eother wyerlings seemed to be, around R'ael he was completely at ease having grown up around him, though there was always that tension between them that could only come from brotherly pranks on eachother and a few jokes at eachother's expense. Around just about anyone else- especially girls -G'dor became a bit more withdrawn.
