Kasumi lowered her hand, watching her shadow out of the corner of her eye. It was busy doing what looked like jumping jacks. Or maybe a rendition of Thriller. She wasn't sure. Her shadow was likely in the "neutral" category from the way it was acting - neither hyper nor lethargic. Miss Hellma said this was a reflection of their inner darkness? By the looks of Miss Hellma's shadow, her inner darkness must be fierce. Admirable! Either way, the Headmistress called on her and the siren boy hadn't asked her question already, so here went nothing! To Hellma "Ma'am, how does one go about catching a shadow if it happens to wander away? And is there some sort of... I don't know, radius where we should be within at all times? I wonder if mine or someone else's might wander too far? What would happen then?" Truthfully, she didn't think her own shadow would wander far, but she was busy taking notes of everyone else's shadow's performances. If there was a test involved, she wanted to be prepared!

Siddie puffed up just a little with pride; of course she'd have a talent for this sort of thing. She made sure to look like she was paying close attention. It was interesting to see what the other students' shadows were doing; but her own insolent shadow was taking up most of her attention right now. She frowned at it, trying to get a feel for where it had gone.
Her shadow tilted its head at Shadow!G, then huffed a sigh. "I guess you can't help it, huh?" It reached over to pat the big reptilian shadow's head. Then it turned its attention to Shadow!Sin, looking the shadow over; apparently deciding that this one was okay, it offered its hand.
"Shut up," Siddie hissed to her shadow. "I'm trying to listen."
Predictably, it ignored her.

Lilura watched rather embarressed as her shadow pounced the doctor's. She finally made it over there and frowned as her shadow hugged Val's. She put her hands on her hips and spoke rather harshly.
"Shadow Lily that is rude! You shouldn't just hug people without asking!" she huffed then turned to Val. "Um, sorry about that. I'm not use to controling this sort of thing."
Truth be told Lilura couldn't control anything larger than a basketball, and that was pushing the definition of control. Small objects like pencils, erasers, and sock were much easier to control. Even shoes were somewhat difficult. She did her best to herd her shadow back over to her original seat with Daisuke, but that didn't go over well. It just kept it's grip on Val's shadow.

Daisuke paused as soon as Lil!Shadow tackled Val!Shadow, he closed one eye and winced but his expression soon twisted to a somewhat dumbfound look when he realized it hadn't exactly tacked him but it was, hugging? No clinging to it. He tilted his head and laughed lightly until his eyes switched a look to his own which had also stopped. Why was it just. . . Standing there? It seemed to put it's hands on it's hips, in imitation of Lilura then turned and headed back to where they were seated previously. It stopped by the desk and made a motion like it was sitting on the edge of it.
He approached trying to figure the shadow out, tapping his chin in thought. Oh! He got it now. With a huffed, storm away act. He grinned staring at his shadow. "Don't take it too to heart pal." He went and sat at his desk now not worrying too much about his shadow going anywhere. He still watched the other two though, with a small smile. Yet he couldn't help wondering. Your inner darkness. . . Hmm. Something told him that wasn't hard to figure out.
His gaze switched to the different students and their shadows. This class pretty much exposed everyone for what they were denying in some way. Or helping to bring things to the surface. Otherwise just completely wanting to throw you off balance without a shadow.
Either way. His was still in a strop. For some reason or another.

Inner darkness?
She frowned slightly, staring at her own shadow interact with Alcie's. Her shadow seemed to be friendly, unlike what the Headmistress had described, although it was energetic, moving in rather eccentric patterns at the start... While it might be stationary now, it seemed all too ready to take off. Her frown deepened as she stroked her chin, trying to make sense of Hellma's words. Too easily controlled? Well, it did respond in a rather submissive way before; was there something wrong then?
What is her inner darkness anyway? Her fears? Her impure thoughts? A combination of the above?
She turned towards the class's Professor and gathered up enough courage to raise up her hand, "Excuse me, Professor, but will understanding our inner darkness help in controlling our shadows?"

Shehk's shadow had practically screeched to a halt when Hellma spoke, turning to give the woman an almost undivided attention, tail still thumping merrily against the ground. Thumpthumpthump. However, once the woman was done with her horrifying speaking, she bounded off to address another shadow, which was relative to it's interested, pausing at the feet of Sammy herself and giving her a look of interest, before bounding after her shadow as well.
Shehk could only facepalm.
A reflection of her inner darkness? Her inner darkness seemed to be about as deep as a kiddie-pool, and just as hard to drown in. Frankly, the Pricolici made her way over to Sammy and settled in next to her at the table.
"I don't think that little bugger is gonna want to listen to me anytime soon. I don't even see why it would want to." she shared in her woe, leering at it. Frankly, just seeing it so stupidly happy was sort of making her mad...on the inside. IT WAS SUCH A FRIENDLY PUPPY. Hell, she had a feeling it would have made cute-faces at HEllma's shadow if it could have.
Could you at least TRY to listen? she seethed at it mentally, the shadow seeming to look back towards her with some mild interest, one ear flicking before happily bounding back towar-fjals;fjkals;df.
Right as it passed under Shehk's feet, it seemed the chair she had been sitting on had been thrown from balance by it, taking both it, and Shehk, out.

"Well this is three degrees of awkward" Valentino muttered to the witch who was apologizing to him. His shadow seemed to be frozen in shock. That or it was trying to imagine itself in a Happy Place. Valentino imagined that his shadow's happy place was not unlike the lab, but with more blood. Both Valentino and his shadow started to giggle at the mental image of his lab ankle deep in blood, Valentino was afraid that he would start blushing. However, before he could be further distracted, operation 'Get your shadow off of mine' had to commence. The first step was dealing with the witch.
"Oh really it's fine, my shadow loves it when his personal space is violated with...hugging" Valentino was sure that his shadow was glaring daggers at him. He took a breath and hoped that his polished smile would simultaneously placate the witch, his shadow, and the ghost in the corner.
Valentino lifted his hand up and attempted to introduce himself. "Your shadow seems very forward. You however are not. My name in Valentino, Miss...?"

With all the noise and chaos in the room from the shadows of all the students it, it seemed no one heard Lucien's attempt to warn them of his mischievous shadow's behaviour. Everyone was too distracted with their own shadow, or another student's shadow. Lucien was running past them all, an undead doctor, an undead wolf-like creature, and even another ghost.
Lucien's shadow was in luck, Israfel's shadow was just sitting there like a duck when he finally got close enough and lunged onto the birdy shadow, grabbing hold of it tightly. It was his now! Bwhaha!
Lucien finally caught up with his shadow, but didn't get there fast enough. He found himself staring at his own shadow as it gloated about capturing the prize. Frustrated, Lucien growled at his shadow, looking to the side to see... a familiar face...s... and... a very awkward looking shadow being clung to tightly. He couldn't decide which was more urgent: to ask what happened to Tybalt's shadow, to ask who his shadow kidnapped, or to say hello; until Lucien's shadow noticed Lucien looking at it and flew up the wall again and out of reach still clinging tightly. Then Lucien completely forgot about option one to three.
Maybe no one would notice it was his shadow.

If her shadow was a manifestation of her inner darkness then Chuppi really had nothing to worry about, nothing except that her shadow was a far more honest individual than she ever dreamed to be. It had shown right away her feelings for Tybalt when it had gone and latched onto the black dog's shadow, unwilling to let go even when the actual person asked. Of course the chupacabra didn't understand what was going on and thought that her shadow was only trying to help, which was a good thing, and so she was about to respond to Tybalt with 'okay' when a rather large shadow appeared before her.
She didn't recognize the shape at all and therefore didn't know who it belonged to, leaving her a little nervous. Dealing with creatures of flesh and mock-flesh was hard enough, but now shadows? What did it want from her? It didn't look like it was trying to scare her or be mean to her or even hurt her, yet Temes pulled herself inward and away, putting her hands on her head.
"Nooo, don't come closer! Stay where you are!"
At the cry from the little creature, her shadow lifted her head up and looked over, eyes glowing slightly red. There was a thin hiss of warning as it released the black dog and marched over towards the other shadow, the shape changing from the human-ish chupacabra form to. . .something else. Sharp quills, distorted limbs. The shadow was still so small in terms of height but in bulk? It was the size of a small bear.
Without any warning it pounced at the shadow that had come near Chuppi, a shriek escaping its mouth. No one got near the Original!

Alcie had stopped chasing her shadow around the classroom to listen to what Professor Shox had to say about the driving force of the shadows. Staring at her shadow which was swimming about on the ceiling now, Alcyone had to rethink her strategy on how to control her shadow. Already she knew that her shadow was going to be difficult to... tame. If it was anything like Alcie, she knew that this was going to be a long day.
Inner darkness? It was a little difficult for Alcie to comprehend at first but eventually she wrapped her head around the concept. She needed to focus but it was difficult in this crowded room with shadows doing as they pleased. Closing her eyes, Alcie managed to get her shadow to stop swimming on the ceiling and return to her. Though, she was only able to maintain this concentration for a short while and in no time, her shadow was back to weaving back and forth between students.
Crossing her arms, Alcie just stared at her shadow debating what she should do next. If she could figure out how to control her shadow well, this could open up so many new plots for her.

Malodore's shadow gleefully detached itself as soon as the last bit of candy slid down the plague doctor's long, bandaged throat. It could only watch, nonplussed, as the shadow sprang onto the ceiling and dangled there, beak gaped in a huge silent grin.
How... undignified.
Per favore, don't begin capering about like the others...
It threw its head back in an equally silent laugh, then launched into a delighted and deeply embarrassing tarantella, even going so far as to lift up its coat to display the shadow of spindly bone legs. Ugh!

There was so much going on in the room now with students and shadows and Hellma.
Tahki had to admit she missed most of the head mistresses talk because the room was just filled with so many distractions. Her shadow was still chasing after Julians for one.
"Yeah homework.. worries me," She admitted to the owl demon. "Really... worries me," The gryphon stuck her hand in her pocket and snagged the remaining candies and eyed them. Did she really want to go through with this chaos again?

Davi watched in horror as her shadow glided away from her, disappearing into the hullabaloo of students with more grace than she exuded in one tailflick. Her mad dash after the potentially embarrassing creature was cut off by Hellma's speech; despite the rapidly growing desire to go find her shadow before it did something terrible, the Garou paused long enough to listen. The darkness within was the darkness without, huh? Davi couldn't help thinking that it wasn't welcome news. Her shadow blurred, twisted, writhed in and out of form even as it did something so recognizable as a waggle of hips or a twitch of tail. She could tell that it was the silhouette of a monster, but she wasn't sure anyone else could.
And then, you had the fact that it hadn't immediately hopped up and away. Everyone else's had - the chaos in the classroom was proof of that. Was something wrong with her shadow? Davi winced. Was her inner darkness as pathetic as Hellma said? She was a Beast, jackdammit! It couldn't be!
The girl only winced again as, from clear across the room, she heard something distinctly and loudly shout her name. Okay...it wasn't a shout. More like a whisper, that didn't sound like anything at all. Or a twinge in the top of her spine, like that recognition you got when someone really did call you. She couldn't explain it. Davinica swung her head toward the not-sound anyway, only to pick her shadow out of a mass of others near the ceiling. She couldn't even see it! She just knew, as soon as she looked, where it was. And Shadow!Davi tilted her head at her Counterpart, smirking with a definite 'you've got to be kidding me' air that didn't make her feel any better.
She did, however, get to see what her shadow-self was doing. Shadow!Davi had managed to maneuver its way over to another shadow - a strangely dancing one. It leaned back, hand on one hip, as if it was studying the skeletal steps. Before Davi could do much more than whine in horror, her shadow had leapt into place in the dance, arms crossed and paws kicking up to some lively, completely unheard tune.
The wolf stepped up behind the owner of the dancing shadow, shifting gingerly on her paws for a few quick beats of silence. The dance happening on the ceiling was like some sort of train wreck. "Hi. Ah, we've never met before? But my name is Davinica." More staring, aghast, at her shade. "...And I am so, so sorry."

Malodore glowered up at its shadow as another shadow joined in the capering - then jumped as a real creature came up to it. "Ah... pardon, signorina," it said, quickly, regaining its composure as best it could. The plague doctor swiftly compared the shadow above to the form of the werewolf - surely that was what she was - before it.
Yes. The same.
"Mine is as unmanageable, it seems," Malodore said with a resigned shrug, trying to ignore the literal play of shadows above it. "I am L.C. Malodore, but you may call me Malodore. Where did your shadow learn the tarantella?"
At least, that was what its shadow had been doing. It wasn't going to look and see if it was still doing that dance or not. Not yet.

Israfel was terrified. His shadow was going to be eaten, killed, or worse. The idea that a shadow could be killed was strange but Israfel had no idea just what could happen to his shadow. So as the ghost's mass of black grabbed hold of his shadow self, Israfel made a small scream.
His shadow did too, only, no sound came from his mouth. Wings and arms started flapping wildly and Israfel!Shadow began to make attempts to dislodge the other shadow. It was not a flying machine! It was not an epic mount, (and ugh, not even in that way), and his shadow was also not a- Not. Wait.WHAT. Was his shadow trying to fling them off or was it wrestling? The blurry mix of black didn't allow for much definition, but Israfel hoped it was an attempt to get rid of the new found passenger. How embarassing it would be to have his shadow turned into the flight service for another shadow. Flight service, or, a snack. (He was still stuck on this idea.)
