Martufe's eyes flew open as the moment he snatched his shirt his arm was pulled out from under him. The movement causing him to fall heavily. Martufe however, being a gentleman refused to fall on top of Joey. Throwing his weight to the side so that he land and rolled on his back. Only there was one problem with his plan. Joey was sitting on top of him and hi shirt had fallen from his hands. Face completely flushed, Martufe looked up at Joey, his brother's overly large crimson shirt contrasting with his skin and bunched rather high for Martufe's comfort level. "I...um.." Martufe them realized his hand had landed on Joey's thigh and he swallowed hard biting his lip as he looked at it as if he wanted to do something before ripping it back against the bed. "I'm sorry...I can't believe i fell you..how horrible of me...I...If I can just grab my shirt I can...move if you...move." Move if you move? His words had been slow and eyes kept moving along Joey's features.

Joey grin gave way to a very devious smirk as he felt Martufe's hands on his thighs. Joey tilted his head and tried to think of something quickly he laid down on Martufe. "But I am cold and you are so warm" he rubbed against Martufe as he spoke "such a tone body I don't think I can move." Joey only trailed his finger down Martufe's arm.

Martufe's mouth fell open slightly as Joey simply laid his body down against his. It wasn't as if Joey was heavy enough to pin him, but...Martufe wasn't sure he trusted his hands enough simply pick up the other constellation and move him back onto the bed. He was so light...and soft and....oh again with the rubbing!?

"I. Um...a blanket...I can fetch you a blanket" His hands clenched the bed beneath him as to eliminate the possibility of them touching anything else. "...or...robe, Orillian was very found of robes" Joey's skin was still slightly cold against his. "...if..you just..." The other constellations finger bringing up goosebumps along his bare arm. "I could go get one..." he felt a shiver run down his spine but he was most and definitely absolute that it was not from the chill. "Tea...how about tea?" It was the only thing he could think of to get a hold back on his thought process but...Joey didn't seem very fond of tea.

Joey just sighed what boring reaction but what was he expecting to happen. He lifted himself up brushing some hair from his face. Martufe was more likely to hide in a corner than to actually do something. Again Joey's childish nature was showing through as he pouted looking away from Martufe.

Joey moved off of Marfue slowly "no I will be fine" such a childish reaction he was having. Since Martufe wasn't reacting to his taunting. With a heavy sigh "I better go wring out my clothing" he walked over to the bathroom to pick up his clothing it would be annoying if they mildew.

He messed with his clothing wringing them out. Speaking loud enough from the bathroom "Joey is just a nickname my real name is Izz-al-din" he gasped slightly. He said it without even thinking his real name something that he kept secret. Joey touched his collar there was a feather engraved on the left and lotus on the right. They were glowing lightly as Joey peeked his head out wondering if Martufe heard him the ears showing first.

Martufe could see the disappointment more than evident on the other constellations face. What did he want from him? They had only met a few hours ago or...if he was going by the Joey who sat on top of him...they were practically strangers. Though...he supposed he deserved it. had he not been the one to lick Joey because of the...the berry on his skin? if anything this should be considered his penance for such rude and crass behavior.

As Joey actually moved from him, Martufe seemed to melt into the bed. His deep red eyes closing in relief as Joey moved towards the bathroom before he heard the tone of his voice. The Sigh. If Martufe was anything it was a sucker for those he believed he wronged. Sitting up, shirt forgotten for the moment on the bed, he slowly walked toward the bathroom rubbing the back of his neck.

Tilting his head at the new name, he said it over and over again in his mind. Trying to commit it to memory. Martufe was all for formal name. "Izz-al-din...I shall make sure to remember that...and..." he saw joey peek out of the room and paused where he was, bowing his head slightly. "I'm sorry if I'm upsetting you...I'm just...I'm not taking your feeling or customs into account and I promise I'll try to be better I mean...I did try to lick you earlier and...I can completely see how that can give you the wrong idea...I mean not I didn't want..."Martufe turned bright red and cut off his speech. His eyes wide and gesturing hands frozen until he crossed them over his chest. "I think I should refrain from talking right about now..."

Joey moved his head back into the bathroom he knew it was a long shot. Whispering to himself "what are you thinking old boy he is praticully a pup comapred to you." He sighed and looked for his shoes he was glad he had small feet and they didn't change. They were small squish sound as he put them on he thought if he put the wronged out clothing in his bag it should be fine.

Joey is still sulking his childish mannerisms was enough to annoy anyways. Martufe barely knew anything about him it is no surprise that he didn't go for his advances. Sighing once more "just a pup really" He rolled up the sleeves and wrung out as mush of the water as he could before folding them up.

Taking a deep breathe "I think it is best if I leave now I have out stayed my welcome." He walked out of the bathroom keeping the slightly wet clothing away from the shirt and cradled in his bear arms. He was actually embarrassed of the way he had been acting.

He felt like when he was a child crushing on the boys in his neighbor. His face turning even more red pushing his feelings on somebody else how childish of him. He shuffled around becoming very clumsy as he looked for his bag that had the sweets.

Martufe thought he heard some quiet murmuring from the bathroom and sighed turning back for the bed to find his shirt that had caused all this irksome trouble. Perhaps he should burn it? Starting to pull the shirt on over his head, one arm through the hole he heard Joey’s voice and felt himself freeze. “Leave?” he didn’t want him to leave. To stop trying to get him to do…things… maybe, but not leave. He hadn’t had company in so long.

Scrambling over to him as he looked for the sweets, Martufe tried to pull his shirt the rest of the way on. ‘Wait…ugh…Don’t go.” He managed to shove his other arm through and then pulled the tight ribbed cotton tank over his chest instantly looking a hundred times more comfortable. “You can at least wait till your clothes dry or borrow some pants as well…I’ll go down and stay in the workshop if you’d like…That way you can be up here in piece while your things dry.”

Joey sighed and rolled his eyes and his head back thinking why would I leave it is your home. “Martufe that doesn’t make sense this is our home.” He placed his clothes on the table crossing his arms wandering how dense he could be. It might be best if he kept his mouth shut he had already caused enough problems for Martufe. “No it is alright I don’t need any pants the shirt is long enough” he looked down to make sure the shirt was buttoned all the way down. “It is already very late I have kept you up long enough really.” Joey spotted the bag across the table and thought he could reach it by leaning on the chair. The chair slipped right out from him as he grabbed the bag almost hitting the table a small scratch on his cheek from it. His behind in the air he felt a breeze and pulled the shirt down quickly. “Yes I better go” he hurried to his feet feeling his arm that he landed on stinging. He cradled it slightly he hated getting flustered his dexterity was horrible when he was embarrassed. He pushed his clothing in the bag feeling his face to his rear turning red as he hurried to the door.

Martufe’s face actually fell as Joey pointed out that this was his home, so why in the world would he leave. Martufe left a lot actually. The shop was more his home than this space and this had probably been the most time up here besides sleeping since he had lost them. In fact it had been the first time since he had opened the trunks…or got out special tea or…lived here really.

Jaw tightening as he insisted that the shirt was enough, Martufe was about to argue when Joey slipped and the shirt…well it only proved Martufe was right and it wasn’t enough for the love of chamomile! Face bright red, he stared and was unable to turn away, still looking at the spot as Joey ran for the door. Shaking his head, Martufe bit his lip before dashing to the trunk and grabbing a floor length heavy wool robe with fur lining and a sash. If he wasn’t going to stay then he was at least going to dress appropriately for wondering about at night!

Taking off to follow Joey he got in front of him and skidded to a stop. His face still red, Joey tried to throw on a slightly gentlemanly air but it came off as mostly protective. “Joey please…you’re going to be wandering around late at night in naught but a shirt! Please if you’re going to leave at least take this.” He offered the robe and tried not shove it into his hands. If the other didn’t want it…then…then he shouldn’t force it.

Joey just shook his head too embarrassed to turn around and say anything. He didn't want to say anything but a simple head shake wouldn't be enough. "I am fine really you won't have to worry about me getting in any trouble." He nodded looking back slightly trying to give a smile that he is okay. "A robe might send the wrong message you know" he nodded and walked out the door as quick as he could his face turning red again. Joey rushed out the door before Martufe could say or do anything else.

Joey left quickly making sure everything was in hand and it was. His mind was now only thinking about what he did and how embarrassed he was for doing it. Joey hated when others forced their emotions on him and here he was doing the same to Martufe. Joey rushed home knowing there would be plenty of question about his appearance and whereabouts.

As Joey left, Martufe just stood there holding his brothers robe and staring at the wall. Just as abruptly as Joey had entered his life he was gone. Alone again. Alone in the shop and the apartment that was far too big for just him. Sighing, he walked over to close the door. The lantern catching his eyes as he pulled the door and stopped for a moment just to look at the comforting flame. They'd come home...they had to come home. Once they did everything could go back to how it was and encounters like this...well maybe they wouldn't be so hard.

Going back inside, he left the cleaning and apartment till tomorrow heading straight for the shop. He didn't want to be up there right now and...well there was always work to do. The door to the workshop shut lightly and the sound of leather tools clinked softly as he set about work. Another sleepless night of designs and etching that would hopefully take his mind of things.

Hope turned into certainty, for when the sun rose again and it was time to open the shop Martufe had gone back to routine. It was funny how routine was like that. It could block out almost anything that was trying to get passed it walls no matter what the memory. That must be what had happened the day before. He had been out of routine and there fore lost in the memory's.

So routine it was...and it went like that for about a week. Open the shop, work in the shop, close the shop, work on the shops inventory. Of course...it was inevitable for it to happen. He had to run out of supplies and food at some point and be thrust out into the world. As daunting as it was to close the shop for a day, Martufe flipped the open and closed and wandered out into the village.

He managed to find a few fabric, hardware and skin vendors. His pack stiffed with furs, skins, trim, and metal claps and buckled that would be utilized for the shops specialties. He had even found a few a few dyes that would make his next mural a great visual piece. Of course...it wouldn't be a great piece if the drops of rain that suddenly appeared had a chance to ruin the leather before it was treated. Brows furrowed in frustration, Martufe scanned the lines of shops and located one that seemed to be remotely slow. A book shop. Pushing the door open, he slipped into the shop and covertly slipped into a chair behind a shelf of books.

Joey seemed unwilling to move from his bed that past week was horrible for him. It seems he caught a cold on his little night walk back home. The worries of how it went with Martufe weighed heavily on his mind and made him even sicker. There were a few people in the home worried about him. Really just two Kaantaa and Corbin the only ones worried that he was so ill.

It was odd for Joey to get sick and almost sent them in a panic as to what to do. Corbin didn't like to show his soft side and when he did it annoyed him slightly to have to worry about anyone. Joey just rolled over in his bed as he laid there staring at the same ceiling but today he decided to get up. Rain always made him feel better most would feel bad but he loved the rain.

Joey wandered out of bed with a slight cough the overly large shirt that belonged to Iah fell off his shoulders. He pushed them up and tousled with his messy hair. Rain meant slow days in the shop so he could wander around as much as he wanted without running into anyone. He walked through the sheltered path in the back to the shop.

A glass backing to the shop made it look almost like a cafe if weren't for the over grown plants creeping up the back. One wouldn't even know there was a back way trees and plants covered everything. The glass dome shaped ceiling made the most interesting view at night but not fitting for a book store. One would wonder what in the world this place once was. Cobble stone front with a few steps and even fewer windows. The sides had large stained glass windows and concrete siding and the back was plant entwined brick. The had a open siding but the top was glass covered in plants. The enclosed path led to a cobble stone house covered by trees and to many windows.

Joey sighed as he walked over into the building with a cough as he pulled open the door. False plants covered to door except one real one that opened the way to opening to the door. He walked up the back steps into the building the hard wood floor full of carved patterns. Cherry oak looked so lovely on the floor Joey touched the side of dark cherry oak book case for support. Joey went through the books shelves and when he went towards the front he saw a man sitting in a chair. One of the multiple chairs the shop had for patrons. He was going to greet him but noticed it was Martufe slowly and quietly backing up. Joey knocked over one of the short stacks of books that sat on the end making their own shelves. He gasped with a cough as he heard them fall trying to pick them up to scared to look back in case Martufe saw him.

Calloused fingers flipped through a rather thick book that Martufe had no real interest in. he rarely read but that was just because he always had so much work to do. The books on the shelves in his apartment already covered with a thin layer of dust hadn't been touched since his brother's left. Orillian and Bastian's collection biding its time until they returned.

Shelving the book with a gentle sigh, Martufe suddenly flinched as he heard a whole stack of books crumble to the floor behind him. "Oh dear..." Rising from his seat he rushed over to the pile of books, his mind and eyes focused on picking up the pile and not really on the person who had dropped them. "Are you all right? Did anything fall on you? Books can be quite perilous that way...if..."

Martufe trailed off slowly, his lips not receiving the rest of his thoughts as he took in the constellation before him. "Joey..." He froze, a book midway to the stack as he saw that Joey seemed sick. His mind immediately recalled that night and his cheeks warmed. "Joey I...you're coughing..."
PostPosted: Mon Sep 20, 2010 9:27 pm

Joey blushed and coughed turning his head away from Martufe "I am fine just a dry throat." Joey didn't want Martufe to know that he was ill he didn't want to worry him any more. Joey slowly got up his body was a bit shakey from his cold. He really shouldn't have gotten out of bed and now here he is facing Martufe the last person he wanted to face. He forgot the books only just remebering them he bent down and picked them up. "Thanks for your help" he tried to smile but was to weak to do so and was walking very unevenly with only a few books in hand.

His breathing was still heavy and he couldn't help but he fell over with books in hand. Coughing as he tried to pick the books up quickly so not to worry Martufe.

Martufe caught the simultaneous blush and swallowed gently as he went back to picking up the books with great fervor. Now he really wanted to make sure he helped. Especially when that cough kept rearing its head. Dry throat? he didn't think so and wouldn't let Joey fool him that way. "You're more than welcome Joey...I just...it sounds bad. Not just a dry throat and I think you should be..." He sighed as Joey stood up to put the books away and trailed off. Would Joey even care if he told him he should be in bed?

Then, as he stood to put his stack of books back he saw Joey falling mid cough and couldn't get to him in time despite the fact he had dumped his books and was at the constellations side as he tried to act as if it was nothing. "You are not fine...Joey you just fell..." He started to pick up Joey's books now, a look of deep concern furrowing his brow. "You should sit...o-or lie down. Please...let me take care of these."

Joey muffled his cough in his sleeve as he turned further away from Martufe. "No this is my job in the book store I could never ask a patron to do my work." He nodded and try to keep from coughing. But the heavy breathing was most likely not helping him sell his story. He slowly got up a little more steady than before as he took a few deep breathes. Joey smiled slightly and patted Martufe's shoulder picking up the books.

Only a few this time he wobbled over to the shelves trying to put on a professional look. He really doesn't know how to act around Martufe. His body is weak so he knows he might say something he would regret. "I am glad you....." coughing inbetween his words. He took another few deep breathes. "I am glad you found the book store and hope you find something to your liking."

Martufe sighed heavily as he had to watch and listen to Joey suffering as the stubborn constellation refused to accept the fact that he was ill and needed rest. No...it wasn't necessarily Martufe's business but somehow Joey just made him want to intercede. "I just came in here to hide from the rain...I highly doubt that is enough to count as a Patron...please..."

He rose with the books he had already picked up and began to shelf them with Joey, staring at the books on the shelves as he tried to get up his courage to say what had first come to his mind. Normally a filter of twenty would have stricken this comment from his mind...but he couldn't help it. "And...wh-what if I've already found something I like..."
