Hi! My real name is Guillaume, i'm french (from quebec) and my english isnt alway correct so please forgive me sweatdrop I was raised as a christian but I never believe that religion. I dont concider myself a buddhist because I'm not err.... practise it (I'm not sure of that word if its correct) enough. But I do meditation and I fully agree about the saying of the Dalaï-Lama. He's the one who give me interest about buddhism. I saw him on television and I listen to his word. Every time I see him, my heart feel like warm eek
I'm not sure if you would understand but my belief is: "love and compassion is one of the key of happiness" and "you have to understand your source of pain"
Oh and also, have a good scense of humor whee
(I hope I said everything sweatdrop )
I'm glad to join you 3nodding

I'm not sure if this is what you were thinking of, but the Dalai Lama did at one point say that "The central practice of all true religions is love and acceptance." I might not have given that exactly, I don't have the quote in front of me at the moment, but you get the idea. By the way, you wouldn't happen to be a Dune fan would you?

You gave me something to think about... its very hard for me to explain what (I've been thinking for 5 minutes without finding something coherant to say in english xp ) But I still think buddhism is more like that... err... *sigh* too hard for me... Hi! I'm a 14 year tibetan buddhist from Helsinki, Finland. Firstly, my English is terrible. Please forgive me my typing mistakes and so sad
Anyways, I have thought myself as a buddhist for a very little time. I don't know so much of buddhism. I meditate rarely, since I dont know many forms of meditation (the only one i know is metta bhavana, but I dont think I do that correctly either...). So I hope that here I would learn more about buddhism, specially about dharma ^^

Hi I'm KC from Malaysia (If you don't know where that is, it's that piece of land between Thailand and Singapore sweatdrop ), 20 years errr... young? blaugh I'm the eldest of two children, and am currently pursuing my degree in Biotechnology.
Anyway, I was raised on the Chinese folk religion (which incidentally is commonly mistaken here to be Buddhism), but when I started reading about Buddhism, I finally discovered that it is more than mere superstition and praying. So technically I follow the Theravada school, but I actually mix and match more (I'm even part pagan). But I'm looking forward to learning more on Buddhist philosophy, in fact I plan to start reading the Abhidhamma soon...

はじめまして、みなさん。 ぼくは リン デイモコ です。 どうぞ よろしく おねがい いたします。
Hello, everyone. I am Rin Daemoko. Pleased to meet you. I am 22 years old, and I became interested in Buddhism when people coming into my bookstore kept buying Lama Surya Das' book, Awakening the Buddha Within. At the time, I knew nothing about Buddhism, and I was curious, so I read the book, and I was sold.
Naturally, I am primarily invested in Tibetan Buddhism, however I do enjoy the Ch'an/Zen aspect as well. I am pleased to have been informed about this Guild. I look forward to getting to some discussions.
じゃね。

Hello. Im Tallon and Im an 18 year old atheist from Canada. I was raised christain but I found I dident really agree with some of the things that were preached to me. However I have not closed myself off from ideas and I have an interest and respect for certain things about religons. I have over the past few months become interested in Buddhism, its ideals, and meditiation. I am interested in learning more so I joined this guild hoping I would get something out of it.
