Amestru nods. "Yes, the red flowers are very dangerous, and destructful... which leads me to the fact that you did something you shouldn't have done. Now I understand you didn't know what would happen, but there are a great number of things in this palace which can harm you just like the flowers do. What did Mommy say about going into her room?"

Kero cocks his head at Amestru, giving him his best innocent face.

"I no knows, Dadsdy. Why Yoo no wisten to Mommy?"

Ame pokes him gently in the side, tickling him a bit as he makes a face. "Kero, I'm serious. She doesn't want you in there unless she's there, too. Got that? That also goes for my study. I have some very very important things in there, things so old, they may even be older than you..."

He winks and gently rubs his head. "A lot of people live in the palace. And we all have things that are important to us. Most will be willing to have you visit, but I think I need to make a rule here. Knock first and ask if you can come in. If they say yes, by all means visit. If no one answers or they tell you they really can't visit right now, then I ask that you leave them alone. There are many rooms in the palace that are for everyone to use, the nursery, the dining room, our game room, the main hall... the chapel to Luaria... even the kitchens are free for you to explore. And there are the gardens outside. Kya loves the gardens, but Enia has other chores she has to do from time to time and can't always go out with her."

Kero nods, happy that Daddy isn't mad at him, and happy he managed to charm his way out of being in trouble again.

"Okies, Daddy. I take hew owt dewe wight nows."

Anything to get away from Daddy....before he remembers Kero is supposed to be in trouble.

Amestru lifts a finger and waggles it at him in warning. "Kya is still asleep and you, kid, are in deep deep trouble... Hmmm... I think that you need to do something to show your Mommy you are sorry. Let's go write an I'm sorry letter to her, ok? You tell me what to write and I"ll write it and then you draw her a picture to go with it. Sound fair enough?"

Before Amestru even finishes waggling the finger, Kero has vanished, darting off for parts unknown (to him). In truth, he is darting towards the kitchen, in the hopes that the various sights and smells will confuse his pursuer.

Amestru stands up with a frown, eyeing the stranger in confusion. He had no idea what was wrong with Kerobian, why he never seemed to want to take responsibility for his misbehaviors, not even when he gave him resonable and easy to perform ways to make ammends. But this man before him he had never seen before. No that wasn't exactly right. He did seem a touch familiar, but he couldn't place him and knew for certain he hadn't been in that room a few minutes before.

"Are... are you a friend of my mate's?" he asks helping to dust the ash off his clothing.

Streaking away from the strange man, Kero gets a good idea. He darts into the Strange room with many fun things that had a mean red flower in it, and sits down, starting to play with the funny red sticks again, and making another red flower.

Amestru smiles thinly as he straightens up. "I'm not sure how you got here, but however it might have been, it's left you a bit muddled I fear. I'm no ma'am... that title would go to my mate, Lyssan. Did you happen to see a small copper-gold dragon run by, by any chance?"

Clapping his hands, Amestru summons two small brownies.

"Bash, Clash.... please show our guest to a room so he can rest a bit after his ordeal. And no... no experimentation. His memory will clear on it's own once he's rested, I'm sure. You don't have to help him.."

Then in an aside, he whispers to the stranger. "Trust me, you don't want them to help... the Smash brothers are a bit over zealous..."

Once he is sure the uninvited guest is safely tucked away out of harm's way, the old wolf kami braces himself to face Champhy in the even more chaotic than usual kitchen.

Meanwhile back in Lyssan's office, Kero is having a hell of a time getting his claws off the funny red tipped sticks which keep burning right down to his fingers, singing him terribly. They seem to be enchanted so he can't put them down. And nothing he touches them with catches fire. The only way to get rid of them is to keep striking them and letting them burn to ash, but it is such a painful ordeal, he's almost in tears.

From the shadows a small red fox watches on with a sad grim smile, winching each time he's burned. She knows he won't get seriously hurt and if he thinks to call on his salamander friend, Thyrion will get rid of them in the blink of an eye. But he needs to be taught a lesson. Fire is not a play toy. And with Kero the best lessons are the ones he teaches himself.

Finally, when there are only five of the funny red tipped sticks left and his paws are dotted with small burns, Kero tries to put down the box, having at last had enough. When he can't, however, he growls, trying to throw it out of his paws. When that fails as well, he curls up into a ball, starting to cry. As he does so, the pain from his burns, coupled with the emotional anguish he is in right now, cause the little bit of crying he was doing to become a full on baby crying fest. Tears everywhere.

"Sniffle...Sob...Mommy...Sob....Daddy...Owie....Sniffle..."

Lyssan sighs and ports to just outside the door of her office, then enters as though she hadn't just witnessed the whole thing. Padding over to where he was lying, she nudges him gently. "Kero? What's wrong, little one? Why are you in my office again? I thought I asked you to ask first?"

Her voice is loving, gentle, and so familiar, Kero immediately dives for her comfort, but it doesn't take long for him to realize Mommy is different. Before he can say anything though, she curls about him gently and nudges the box with her nose.

"You really should put those things back on my desk. My... my... how did you get so burned?" her voice is so sad and so loving he begins sobbing all over again. Shaking her head, she gently removes the box from his fingers, sets it aside, then gathers him close once again.

"Let's go see Enia. I think she has a really good salve to put on those burns. And if that doesn't work, I can always dig up some of Uncle Bob's universal for whatever ails ye, tonic. But that stuff will knock ye out like a light at your age."
