Of course, such a typical Dutch thing, even in that joking tone she still gave a huff to it....even if she had a grin on her face. It may have been all the events as of late, yet that anger which had been so strong was something she was having a hard time grasping. It was the first time in her life she'd felt like the damsel, despite all her fighting and bitching about it....it was true that often they found themselves fawning over their Prince Charming.
....well, at least Dutch had a gentlemanly manner about him when he desired it; since he was far from charming. Then again, she wouldn't have changed a thing....since the last kind of Prince she wanted was one pansy enough that could be hog tied by her.
Yet when he'd offered that suggestion, that simple little wording which she could have shrugged off....that's when it hit her. He'd figured it out. That kiss could have damn well have been a test after blindly coming to her aid again....they hadn't hard a single harsh word to say to one another since well...back at the beach. All this prying and embarassing conversation....was it a gauge? She couldn't think of anything else which would warrant him wanting another try. Was it worth it....putting herself on the line like that after getting such a good glimpse of life without him?
Nariko didn't want to go back to that...and looked up to the ODST with that stupidly...attractive grin. Taking the slant of the hill into consideration she walked back up to him but remained just far enough that they were pretty much the same height. "How about you give me one..." She spoke softly, placing a paw on his chest plate and stealing a kiss of her own from his lips.

He watched her as apparently she was lost in that thought again. What on earth could be going through her mind now he thought as she noticed she had suddenly halted. He raised an eyebrow very confused as to why she suddenly stopped. He turned, to have a paw put on his chest plate, and words he thought he'd never hear spoken to him.
At the touch of her lips he felt his fur stand on end. Partially from shock and pure bliss that this was actually happening. At first he was stiff, but he just rolled with it and returned the kiss, hoping that he would be on the top of his kissing game as he heard the klaxxon in his head sound off.

Practically in her own mental bliss for a moment in time, a part of her was shocked when he'd relaxed and she felt that return...somewhere between utter elation and heart attack she assumed. As if on cue she felt her knees weaken on her as her paw grabbed sturdily onto his armor; but managed to keep herself up and functional.
Feeling her cheeks burn like if they had gotten radiation burns, she pulled back slowly and watched him for a moment...never realizing he had such a similar shade of brown eyes to she; so warm when not hidden by a scowl. Noticing she'd been off in lala land while staring she turned and cleared her throat, "And if you have nothing nice to say about that, don't say it....or you'll really get smacked this time." Nariko warned, already feeling her heart was going to burst if she kept this up...but she couldn't help it; between the confusion of the last one, there was no denying she melted this time.

Somewhere deep inside, his little lock on his heart just melted away..He was half way between tears of joy and just looking overtly happy. Somehow he managed to hold back the tears, but his eyes were still watery nonetheless.
She pulled away...he wanted more, but he opted for just that little taste...for now. He licked his lips and smiled. Speechless about her taking charge in this instant, and further more actually seeming to enjoy the moment. He tried to say something but it came out in a bit of a squeak. Turning red he coughed and cleared his throat. "I don't think I could say anything bad even if I tried" he said trying not to let out a dreamy love stricken sigh...or for that matter fall over

Glancing over her shoulder as she was aware he seemed a bit out of it like she, the vixen let out a giggle as she saw his face. It was amazing what happened when one took a chance...but like he said... Only the brave succeed. "Come on tomato, looks like that stuff is effecting your voice too so we best get to the doctor." She teased and started walking in a relaxed pace till he caught up.
Flicking her ear to the side she noticed the sound of the kits were gone, wondering what adventures were in store in their world of pretend today. None the less she had her own journey, as she lifted her nose to the air as she could begin to smell traces of the lake near the house. Still a bit off, she once more found herself glancing back to see he was still moving; surprised she was still walking as tall as she was.
Despite how fast her heart was still pounding, that is.

He finally turned around and started after her, wiping away the pesky watery eyes when he knew she wasn't looking. He didn't want to give her the impression that he was on the brink of crying, so he puffed out his chest and took his usual stance...at least to the best of his ability. "Ri *squeak*"...he cleared his throat again and with that deep gruff voice he tried again. "Right. Sounds like a plan."
Oh he was beyond embarrassed now. But he tried to hide it, despite now, he was looking like the tomato. Or so he thought. He hobbled along behind her, smoothing the visible fur of his puffy tail down with a free hand while the other clasped to the stick. He noticed she had looked over, and he followed her look. He wasn't sure what she was looking at, but he felt it didn't need question

Nariko smiled to herself, fascinated with this feeling of hope she felt inside. It was similar to the one she had of becoming a great spartan one day...but different, for she had a visible sight of that hope trailing a few paces behind her. Twisting her ears back to listen to him, her tail swayed in a happy rhythm, not sure what to think other than just wonder about the emotions swirling around in her mind.
It wasn't long that they finally arrived at the house, making her way to the door as she walked up the two steps to the front door. "You can come in if you're like...the place is kind of dead in the summer now that my mother is gone as well." The vixen smiled back and entered, immediately looking through the drawers in the sitting room right beyond the door. "Gotta be here somewhere..."

Lost in his thoughts, he could only wonder what happened from here. Would he go back to being a drifter and would she go back to doing...whatever it was that she had done. He wasn't sure, but he was left with too many questions than answers. Nothing new
He soon found how lost in his thoughts he really was when suddenly, they were standing in front of her house. Immediately he hobbled over to a rock where he groaned as he sat down, rubbing his bad leg just a bit. "I'll wait outside" he said with a small smile.
Now was the time to investigate his helmet further. He took it from the plate it clung to and was shocked to find the whole thing was now covered in that eerie substance. "What on earth is this crap?" he said out loud, putting the blue covered helmet down on the ground nearby, and leaning over to examine it, quite perplexed at it

Quickly pulling out the little book when she found it, she sat on the edge of the chair while flipping pages; finding the doctor labeled well....under emergency contacts of course. Picking up the phone located on one of the stands she dialed the numbers before the man picked up on the other line.
Explaining the situation in a need to know basis while leaving out the part of a huge monster terrorizing the eastern beach, Nariko hung up and put the book back when she was done on the phone. Looking to her torn and battered suit she knew she wanted to get out of them, so she darted to her room to find nothing she could wear which would keep her back exposed. "Crap..." She thought, not really wanting to destroy the few outfits she had and certainly not wanting to wear nothing at all; so heading down the hall she went to the one member of the house who probably would have something.
Knocking on the door of the head of the house, she peeked inside to see everything in order, well, what was left as the room seemed a bit empty. Immediately heading to the drawers she pulled out what was some jeans and a backless top, probably for those dance party things she heard about. "It'll have to do." Wasting no time she stripped from her own clothes and put on the casual wear, the jeans more like capris on her but rolling the hem on her calf she pulled it off seamlessly. The shirt was just as nice, although blue wasn't her best colour she was sure she'd find nothing better since she was of similar size.
Dropping her own stuff back in her room, she headed back outside and found Dutch leaning over his helmet, walking up behind and peering around him. "What're you looking at?"

He heard chatter from inside the house and based on the tone, Nariko had gotten a hold of the doctor. He had to wonder how much fun it must have been to tell the doctor the situation...assuming it was brought up at all.
He soon felt the presence of someone as he turned just in time to see Nariko ask a question. HE looked back and pointed to his helmet. "Oh..just this...it's now covered in this stuff...what ever it is." he said scratching his head. He knew what would happen if he touched it, so he refrained. Then he did a delayed double take at the vixen to see that she was wearing something different. He wanted to comment on it, but wasn't sure where to begin, so he just pushed it aside and continued his examination
"Doctor on his way?"

"Seriously?" Nariko asked and headed around Dutch to crouch down, looking at the stuff as it had indeed covered the helmet. "Would you look at that..." She breathed before absently reaching out to get that little shock he'd already discovered and withdrew her paw quickly...surprised it felt like such a strong sting. "Ouch! Dammit..." Looking at her finger there was a small red mark, but nothing to serious as if she'd gotten a bad static shock.
Looking back up to him as she stood back up, walking over to one of the rocks and sitting down on it she nodded. "Yup, shouldn't be more than ten or so minutes since he was in the neighborhood. He's pretty good with the no questions asked, since i'm sure he must have wondered about my parents. Its not everyday such a little thing gets pregnant by a spartan no less around here." Grinning to herself, she was sure both her brother and her must have been hell on her; but shrugged it off. "So i'm sure he'll be alright about these wounds....not sure what he'll think of that stuff though."

He looked at her as she reached forth. He saw the little bolt of lightning arc from the helmet to her finger, and almost as quickly she withdrew her hand. Shocked and perplexed, he looked at her finger. "It hurt you?" he asked completely dumbfounded as he hesitantly reached for it, seeing the arc, but feeling no pain at all, but rather a tingling sensation. "Weird..." he remarked, removing his finger looking at it.
"Well that's good." he replied still transfixed on his unharmed finger, occasionally casting a glance her way or towards the helmet. Why did it hurt her and not me? he pondered to himself, soon noticing she was off on a little tangent about the doctor.
"Who was your father then?" maybe he knew him...probably not, but the UNSC was big about spartans so odds where he heard the name at some point in time

"It didn't hurt you?" Nariko echoed and gave a confused look, wondering what the deal was and had a right mind to assume the creature was just taking a womanly grudge....if it was infact female like she thought she heard. Leaning her body back a bit to be supported by her hands on the rock, she looked up for a moment in wonder, but was brought back when Dutch spoke up.
"My dad?" She questioned with a tilt of her head, realizing it was possible if her dad got stuck here than maybe...just maybe they could have been familiar. "His name is Jerome, he was leader of Red team...I remember him saying that the other members were around but I didn't ask further. You know of him?" A curious nature took on her tone....could it have been possible?

"Very odd" he murmured, playing with the lightening as if it was some electrostatic globe that kids played with to make their hair stand on end. His fur wasn't doing that, but it certainly felt like it should have.
"Jerome....Red team...You mean Spartan dash oh ninety two? I've heard of him, but never his name" he replied after she had finished her sentence. "I only have hear that he was around fighting for Harvest, which was a planet lost 50 some odd years before the Covenant war ended. Supposedly he and the rest of the crew on the Spirit of Fire went MIA, but about the time the war ended, the ship popped up again...everyone who was in cryo was alive, but the captain wasn't" he explained as he put his helmet aside, crossing his arms and giving a glance to the sky, almost as if he was expecting the ship to just appear

Nodding her head slowly, she closed he eyes and wondered what he would have been like as a human, if he was indeed the same Jerome from his time. It was hard to imagine, just like Dutch was too....since she'd never seen a human to fox since the head of the house; only because she had pictures to show the difference.
"Father never talks about the time before coming here, its nice to get a glimpse of what he's been through." Nariko admitted, looking down at her paws after she'd opened her eyes up. Grinning mischievously, she side glanced to Dutch before piping up with a flick of her tail. "So how old does that make you then, Dutch, since you were in the same era as my father?"
