"So can Persephone go with her?" Persephone joked already guessing the answer.The stern look she received from Horus confirmed her answer.

Jaci already knew a little something about currents from the river, though she would admitt that this was a lot more powerful. In the shallows she had already found a way to swim that keep the waves from pulling her back with them. She wanted to make sure she knew what she was doing before she tried to go any deeper.
One of the waves shoved her all the way back to the beach. Her multi-colored fur scraped sand, and came to rest on something hard. Jaci looked down and dug a bit, coming up with a magnificent speciman of conch shell. "Ooooh, lookit the pretty I found! Whatever it is....."

"its a type of shell. Its called a conch shell little crabs and stuff use it to make homes out of." Horus explained as he walked over to see what Jaci had found.
"So shouldnt she put it back so the crab has a home?" Persephone asked. Horus laughed a bit.
"no if its up here on the beach most likely it means the shell got abandoned for a new home." Horus explained.

Jaci sniffed at the conch shell. She found out quickly (and painfully) that the shell was still occupied. The creature didn't actually pinch her nose so much as the fur above it, but it still tugged at her skin.
"Ow ow ow!!" She ran around the beach, flailing her head in an attempted to dislodge the horrid creature.

" I thought it was supposed to be empty" Persephone asked looking up at it before watching Horus try to catch up with the kit to rescue her from the crab thing.
"I said most likely... most likely." Horus pointed out before slowly dislodging the pinchers from Jaci's nose. "I'll be back, let me go put this guy back in the ocean"

Jaci had flopped down on the sand with both paws over her nose. Her mutterings about creatures who lived in shells would have been termed as "unlady-like".
Her eyes glanced up to look at Sephy. "You get to sniff the next shell," she said, voice a little muted coming through her paws.

"well silly you just shake them like this first. I see it all the time when the large predators go after those big spiky needly things." Persephone said shaking out a little shell or trying to.
Horus raised an eye a Jaci's language but figured it was probably warranted. "You mean porcupines?" he asked. Persephone nodded.

"How was I supposed to know there was something in the shell," the pouting permakit protested ((XD?)). "It all smells like salt and fish here!" Which wasn't entirely true, but Jaci had yet to fully acclimate to the territory. Oceans smelled a lot different from rivers.

"Dad said something along the lines of you cant always rely on your smell so you should make sure you use other things first to make sure the area is clear.... or something like that" Persephone frowned and then sighed a little. Her dad must be worried sick after all she had been carried off by the river.

Jaci grumbled a little more, then recovered from her tiff. "Well I'll remember that next time." She looked at Sephy with a small frown. "You dad's not gonna hunt you down, is he?" Despite the nose pinch, Jaci was having fun. It had been a long time since she had other to play with.
((I was looking at our sig pics. Amaidi and Mercury would make cute kits, I think :3 *is a very evil plotter/matchmaker*))

"ah well he has to take care of two of us since our older brother is with daddy and we got into a fight. He was trying to calm down the but... little brother and I stormed off to sit on a rock and went sailing off to sea..." Persephone said with a straight face. "Thus here I am."

"You went sailing on the sea on a rock," Jaci asked, confused. "Well no wonder your butt nearly got drowned!" She couldn't relate with the little brother thing. She would love to have someone to constantly trounce!
It was always a dilema with her. She knew what mates were and how all that worked. Jaci could never have a mate though, since she would always be in a kit body, even she did eventually mentally mature. So her mission was to find a Best Friend! That was platonic enough, right?

"precisely" persephone said and then was whacked on the back of the head by Horus's paw. "alright no, I slipped on the moss that was on the rock and then went falling straight into the rapids." Persephone stated smiling.
