Ugh I couldn't even finish reading the first review, i was so disgusted by this.
Yeah, Harry Potter is totally evil and satanic.*sarcastic voice* And ya know what? I wanna be evil and satanic too. Hey, who wants to come with me to murder puppies and use their life force to power our evil spells to raise demons from the underworld? Or, better yet, use the idiots who wrote the articles!
*sigh*
No, here's an example of idiocy concerning the morals of Harry Potter. My father actually BOUGHT OOTP for me. Then he complained about how all i ever did was sit around reading about a bunch of devil worshippers practicing magick. *rolls eyes*

laurastarzx Oh I have read this before. Serisouly, people, its a book. But because they think EVERYTHING magical is evil. That must mean that The story of "The Three Little Pigs" is EVIL!!!! Because pigs cant build houses and a wolf cant blow a house down. so no more reading that story to your kids!!!!!And so story of "Little Red Riding Hood" And because magic is evil you must not be able to read that to your children becuase A wolf cant dress up in clothes or talk. And he most certanly cant eat an old woman, have his stomach open to find her perfactly safe. So no more "little red riding hood" for your kids. Because Magic must be EVILLLLLLI just think people who right things about harry potter being evil are stupid. (aka Laura Malory) OMG!!!! AND CINDERELLA IS EVIL TOO! BECAUSE HER FAIRY GODMOTHER USED MAGICK TO GET EHR READY FOR THE BALL! *sigh* idiots. and beauty and the beast... and the 12 dancing princesses... and the gingerbreadman... hm lemme see what else is there... man, we just can't tell our kids fairie tales anymore, can we? OMG HOW DID I MISS THAT?! THEY'RE CALLED FAIRIE TALES!!! OF COURSE THEY'RE EVIL !!! OH, WHAT HAVE WE DONE?! WE'VE POSIONED THE MIND OF OUR CHILDREN!!!! I just mailed them my list of Harry Potter sunday school lessons. And at the end I put "Because unlike some people, I find the good in things."

Seriously. Polish up your sermons and leave my favorite series alone, I'll still be at church to listen to you, really!
I won't deny it. I'm an absolute Harry Potter fan. The books are so well-written. Yet, just because in the book Harry waves a wand around doesn't mean I'm going to declare myself a witch and start brewing potions myself.
I admit it. I'm a christian, and I do love these books. Actually, I'm Seventh Day Adventist (saturday churchgoer), which is basically considered a cult. So, I'm doomed either way, so I'll read Harry Potter if you like.
Seriously. Who was it thinking my religion is a cult? If anything, I'm confused at other religions and their teachings myself, but I'm not going to go preach to you and make up stories on you.
Same with Harry Potter. Just because someone decides to spend a good deal of their life writing books that make thousands, millions, of people happy every day doesn't mean we're all going to burn in HELL till the end of time. If anything, it's got to be the smartest thing in the world to do. Could YOU have written a book? It makes people all over read more, it gets them interested. And Jo's one lucky lady- isn't she like the richest woman in the world or something?
I might mail them, point out a few mistakes in their readings, explain myself. Polite hate-mail and all.
Seriously. WTF? They can't get their facts right, so why would I even listen to them?

And, I might remind them. Flamel is, indeed, 666 years of age. However, the book doesn't state the number. It specifically says, "...Flamel, who celebrated his six hundred sixty-fifth birthday last year". So yes, Flamel is 666, but it doesn't directly state this. Obviously.

I know... I don't even have an actual set religion. I'm a christian, but I don't agree with some of the things people interpret the Bible to say, such as, you know, its a sin to be gay and things like that. People in churches, and people such as the ones who wrote those reviews, make it seem like God would rather us be miserable adn do everything exactly as the church tells us too than to b ourselves and have fun. I'm sorry. I LOVE READING ABOUT WITCHES AND VAMPIRES AND ELVES AND OTHER MYTHICAL BEINGS! SO SUE ME! I swear... Ok, look at this. I love Buffy the Vampire Slayer. That doesnt mean i'm going to go around trying to drink peoples blood. I love Harry Potter. That doesnt mean I'm going to try and curse people who tick me off.
Plus, i noticed several times that they referred to the practice of witchcraft as 'Wiccanism' that's wrong. Wiccans are people who are devot to the pagan rituals of honoring the earth and the elements for their blessings. They consider the elements to be their 'gods' and do NOT recognize God or Jesus as the higher powers who created human kind. People who practice Satanism and Witchcraft believe the Bible, and they believe in God and Jesus. They just worship Satan rather than God. The two are completely different religions. It shows how uneducated these people really are that they referred to them as the same thing.
They should really get to know the things they are condemming before they shoot their mouths off.

Well, I am Catholic but I don't exactly see the bible as much as other people see it. I think that God just said, "Let there be life, now you people live your lives as you want, just don't forget about me!" Then people went on.
The people who wrote that article take the bible way too literally!

lol that's why when I was closing the message I sent them (which was very long and very well-written, if I do say so myself (my mother read it before I sent it... I think they'll be amazed they got a message that actually made a point and backed it up instead of just being all 'stfu i like harry potter and im not evil so XP'), I ended it with a verse from the Bible saying who are you to judge other people?

This really bothers me. With all due respect to anybody who believes this, the entire Harry Potter is series is devoted to friends. Protecting your friends, loving them, defending them. The OPPOSITE of satanic.

They complained about so many things... you know how I interpreted Harry Potter? The Holocaust. And Voldemort is Hitler. The series is a huge story of racism and prejudice and things of that nature, and guess what: The guys who are against the whole 'pureblood' thing? Yeah. They win. DUH!!!!
