Rendo only shrugged meekly as Nuishan said. "Maybe, or maybe not. I was pretty hurt over it, but that hurt is gone." He said smiling at her as she jumped up. "I guess not. I'll move as fast as I can." He said smiling as he started limping gently.

She glanced at Rendo, sighing gently. "Maybe we should rest instead, you look pretty banged up." She sat down, tail flicking patiently as she waited for Rendo's answer. Her eyes narrowed as her head throbbed even harder, shaking her head quickly. Her head seemed to agree to that, lessening greatly.
'I need to stop getting in trouble with everything...'

"Thank you." He said haphazardly falling to her side. He was silent for a moment before resting his head on her back silently. "Probably best for us both. The night half over and besides being tired I think my legs would give out a qauter of the way." He said taking in her scent silently enjoying it. "Your warm." He said moving his head to her side and laid it their listening to her heartbeat before realizing his mistake and moving himself some giving her room.
"Sorry...had a moment." He said embarrassed as he laid his head on the sand.

Nuishan jumped when he settled beside her, however did not move away. She...felt warm inside when he laid close, listening to her heartbeat. She couldn't explain it, bit she had felt sad when he pulled away. She stared at Rendo, nodding quietly. She wanted to be close to another like that, more importantly, she wanted to be close to Rendo, if only for a second.
"Forgive me, it's cold." She lied through her teeth, wriggling closer to Rendo and resting her head on his shoulder, staying perfectly still to see if Rendo would yank away.

Rendo blinked in surprise at what she said. It was summer and in this tropical weather...idiot. He felt her move to his side for a moment and flinched from sudden pain from her touching him but he ignored it. He then went and moved his head and looked at her, he gave a gentle lick on the check and put his hands on her paws silently putting his head to her chest silently listening again.
"Know what? I'm glad my old mate left me." He said pushing his head deeper into her chest.

Nuishan was not normally a fox to blush, she was always the bold and outgoing one. However, at the lick she blushed slightly. She didn't move, but relaxed considerably, content. "Why are you happy?" She questioned him gently.

"Because...after meeting you I know she wasn't right for me." He said silently, he couldn't see her face but he could only guess. "I think she taught me how to love, but how to love someone else." He said quietly, he didn't want to say Nuishan. He didn't want to seem weird, he only knew her for barely a day. Then again her crazy brother nearly killed him. Thats not weird either by standards.

Nuishan blushed darker. "Can I ask...why it didn't work out? I mean, how it went wrong?" She had heard his tale earlier, but she wanted a longer explanation. She was curious. Rendo seemed to respond quietly when he spoke of her. It must have hurt, she could only imagine.

Rendo moved his head a little from Nuishan's chest and went silent for a moment before speaking. "Well I guess it wasn't going to work out since the beginning. We had puppy love as kits then as adults we started to drift apart. A few arguments and going to bed mad. Then I had to protect my sister from her tribe mates who had it out for her and one of her suns. I was gone for a while came back tired first thing I did when I saw was lick her and rub against her and said I love her. First thing she said..." he dirfted off for a moment still speaking silently.
"First things she said to me was she wanted to leave me. I was shocked even begged her not to. Next thing I find out she found another, a female. That hurt my pride for the longest. I don't know how the tribe took it. I started to shirk my duty as a scout to wallow in some crummy spot I found under a bush. I think what hurt me the most was how I saw her with her mate. I hated both, her for leaving me like that, not even time to lay it on softly. Her mate for trying to be my friend it and I thought she was rubbing it in. So I couldn't take it no more and left. That was so long ago. Still got a memento from her." He said motioning at the marking above his dragon. "You'll know who she is when you see this. Same spot." He said quietly his voice the emotion hard to depeict. He moved away from her a bit and laid his head on his paws his face looked blankly at the sea.

"Oh. You have matching markings?" She questioned, tail suddenly flicking as she felt a hot rush run through her. What was wrong with her? Was she...jealous? No, it couldn't be. She nuzzled Rendo, attempting to comfort him, before curling her body into a tight ball as he moved away, suddenly cold and quiet.
She didn't have a chance. Wait, a chance in what? Never mind, he had a matching mark... with her. He had truly loved that fox. No, this wasn't jealousy. It couldn't be and she wouldn't mother it. She was quiet, and didn't respond.

Rendo watched Nuishan for a moment. "Yep, guess I'm addicted to getting mementos of things." He said watching her curl up then spoke. "That marking had been love now it's just an scar I can look at. I could careless about her now. Heck I wish her the best with her mate." He said moving over and curling up around her.
"I can thank her for letting me go. If I was still with her I couldn't lo..." He trailed off realizing the word he was about to use.

Nuishan looked up as he curled around her, listening. She tensed slightly, ears perking up briefly when he stopped speaking. What had he been going to say? "Rendo?" She questioned. "Why were you going to say?"

Rendo felt her tense up and uncurled slightly then heard her question him. "That I...loved you. I know it's weird to say since I barely known you for a day..." He said uncurling thankful his face was red and hid his blush. "Sorry if I seem like a weird guy..." He said looking sideways at her.

Nuishan's eyes widened, shocked. He loved her? No, this was some sick joke, right? No one loved her, except her brother, but that was family. She was simple. Plain. Boring. Bland. She had a insane brother bent on killing her family and anyone that stood in the way. Not only was she boring, but she was a risk many would not take. How could he love her?
How did she feel, though? She had barely known him longer than a day, yet she felt like she knew him. She could remember stories of him from Shai, before she had joined Lunarie. She couldn't remember seeing him there though... So why did she want to say it back? This was weird, for her and in general. Yet...
"I-I...you're not a weird guy...well you are but not because of...oh...uhm...I-I l-love you too." She murmured. How degrading, such a bold and blunt vixen such as she reduced to a stuttering kit.

Rendo watched her silently as her face seemed to change with emotions. He tilted his head expecting to see her just run off but he just watched her. As he watched her he then looked her over taking in another look at her pelt.
As he listened to her speak he raised a brow as he listened to her stutter. He smiled as he heard her say she loved him. "I see." He said curling back against her resting his head on her back. "You know...I could always accidentally get us lost and take the long way back." He said smiling at her.
