Amelia Valentine
How does he know what how I feel about his band? Amelia hadn't told anyone except Emerson and Corette; she was sure that Em hadn't told Draco. Stupid girl; she would be better off as one of those creepy Ellen girls. She shrugged at Draco; a noncommittal movement. Amelia froze, her hand on his door knob when he mentioned her twin. She turned back towards him.
"We are twins; what do you expect? Twins are always closer then normal siblings."
Not the entire true, in Amelia's book. But hey, like Draco said, it wasn't any of his business who Amelia spent her free time with, or more importantly how. It's not like they were together, or anything. She shook her head, at his offer of the MJ.
"I don't do that stuff; its for losers."
Amelia smiled at the irony. There was an old saying at SCS that if you couldn't suck it, you snorted it. She banged the well traveled case against her legs nervously; Amelia knew cases and she knew that this one would protect the 1699 fiddle well enough to be banged.
"Listen, Em and I and a couple of other friends are going to watch a movie tonight, in the indoor commons; you wanna come? There'll be pizza and pretty girls."

Invictus Draconius Kalsidius VI Draco contemplated the idea. Pretty girls, pizza, Amelia. Emerson, eh? Why not.
"Only cause you'll be there." Draco chuckled as he pressed a button and on a remote on his nightstand and two fans turned on. It would suck out the smoke right out to the smoke stacks of the cafeteria.
"See you later Valentine." Draco lit up the bong and took a massive hit, set the bong down and walked over to the upright. He was still holding the smoke in when he started playing. It was slow, smooth jazz line. Finally he let the smoke out, two streams from his nose.

Amelia Valentine
Only because of me? Whatever. Amelia gave Draco a little wave and a small smile; it felt good to know that she was wanted. All girls loved to be wanted, like that.
"Bye. Thank you again, for the fiddle."
She turned and left, closing Draco's door behind her, just as the jazz line started. She didn't meet anyone in the hall (to which Amelia was thankful), until she got to the "living room" type lobby at the bottom of the dorm building; luckily, it wasn't anyone she knew personally. The boys didn't even stop their conversation; girls weren't that rare of an occurrence. Outside, Emerson was awaiting his twin; he frowned, seeing the fiddle case in Amelia's hand.
"What's that, Amelia? Another violin? What do you need another violin for? You already have that one Father bought you. The Strad?"
Amelia read through Emerson's words, and tone to the true meaning. He's jealous. Great. When Em got jealous, he became...untenable. She sighed, and decided to answer the actual questions, instead of the innuendo.
"I love to play, Em, just like you love to play football; you know that. Listen, I invited Draco to our party tonight, so play nice with him."
"I wouldn't dream of doing otherwise.
"Liar. I need to go study."
Amelia gave Emerson a chaste kiss and a hug before hurrying off across campus, back to her dorm room. He watched her until she turned the corner behind a building and disappeared from sight. He made a mental note to confront Draco that night about Amelia; he didn't want her to get hurt.

Invictus Draconius Kalsidius VI Draco left his room, the fans working overtime to vent the massive amount of smoke that he had created smoking the entire bowl. His stereo thrummed out the music he had just recorded. The first person he ran into, unfortunately was Emerson Valentine. ******** my life.
"I think your sister is sweet on me, just thought you'd like to know." Draco chuckled lightly as he stalked past the other Valentine, ready for the retort to come from the clearly jealous brother. Bring it Emerson, you can't win in a battle of the minds.

Emerson Valentine
What did he just say? Emerson stopped in his tracks, and turned back towards Draco. He forced a smile onto his face, acting like the Goody-Goody he normally was. Calm. He's trying to goad you; do not fall for it. Emerson figured out long ago that when you play acted long enough, it was no longer a play.
"You've got your wires crossed, Draco; Amelia doesn't swing that way. When was the last time you heard her going on a date? Our freshman year? Earlier?"
It was true, although not necessarily because of how Emerson was painting it. He did not like Amelia to date; hell he didn't even like it when she went off campus with a group of her girlfriends. Guys had tried to go steady with Amelia, only to be shot down, time and time again; Emerson could count the number of dates his sister had been on with boys from Steering on one hand, with plenty of fingers left over. For some reason, Amelia had not found them up to snuff for a repeat date.

Invictus Draconius Kalsidius VI Draco chuckled at how easy it had been to ruffle Emerson's feathers. He was easy to read now. They had been rivals in the classroom for all four years. Trying for top honors at every class. Draco had never noticed the quiet sister next to him, always passing her off as an Effort. Now though, she was quite interesting. He realized she was in many classes with him, since Draco was in many classes as Emerson. She was actually just four rows in front of him in Orchestra, and seeing as he could change to any instrument at will in that class, he could very well sit next to her with little to no effort on his part. Draco realized she could have been on his little effort list all this time.
"Maybe if you let off leash once and a while she would date more often. Stop babying her Emerson. Everyone around here thinks I'm a hedonistic punk who indulges in every whim and has had his d**k in every girl." This was mostly true funnily enough.
"Maybe I want to find someone to just hang out with, someone with the same interest as me. That is probably gonna be your Sister. Seeing as I can supply you with your nasty habit, for half the cost. See you at the movie Brother." Draco put emphasis on the Brother part and walked away. He had to meet a buyer before the move. He had ten grams of Mud in his pocket and he was about to get a hefty bonus.

Emerson Valentine
Emerson stared after Draco, a queer expression on his face. Draco's little speech had not endeared the football star to him in the slightest. Emerson made a note in his mind to speak to his twin that night, to get her alone for a couple of minutes. He hurried off to his room to get ready for that night. That included a shower and a fresh uniform. When he got down to the commons room that night, nearly everyone was already there, including his sister. Emerson smiled and ducked off towards the sidebar to score them a couple of drinks.
"Fancy seeing you here tonight, stranger."
He was standing just behind Amelia now, cups in hand. She turned, a smile already on her lips; without asking, she took one of the plastic cups and turned back to the group. The group was busy acknowledging Emerson's existence and like wise, freeing Amelia of the need for chit-chat for a few precious moments.
"Em, have you seen Draco? I wanna ask him something."
"Later, Xie Xie."

Invictus Draconius Kalsidius VI Draco sidled in and heads turned, whispers followed him and Draco smiled. He loved the gossip he could create. A guy, who was obviously part of the group, cause Draco sure wasn't.
"This is for friends only. We don't need your ilk here." Draco shoved past the kid chuckling.
"I've been invited kid, so pull your panties out of that bunch and wash the sand out of your p***y." Gasps of outrage, didn't stop Draco, he had found Amelia.
"Ai prieteni sint chinezii, ne intrebam ce s-a gandit daca stiau ca n-ai impuscat pana." Draco pulled a hip flask out and knocked back a hit of the whiskey inside.

Amelia Valentine
Amelia took a sip of her drink; she was surprised to find that it was simply apple cider. There wasn't even a mouthful of alcohol. How strange. She couldn't remember the last time she hadn't had cider straight. Amelia took another drink and turned to Draco, ignoring Emerson's small chat with the others. She recognized enough of the words to know the language, but not enough to speak it. She gave him a small smile.
"I didn't know you spoke Romanian. What else do you speak?"
Beside her, she could feel Emerson tense up. Amelia knew that he didn't much like Draco, but then, Emerson was good at hiding his emotions. It was surprising that he'd let another effect him so. What's up with them? Amelia shifted on her feet, moving ever so slightly closer to Emerson; gradually, he began to relax again. Good.
"The movie's going to start in a few. Save me a seat on the floor? I need to go powder my nose."

Invictus Draconius Kalsidius VI "Mandarin, Cantonese, Siberian, Mongolian, Latin, German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese. On top of Binary. No one talks like that so, just those others." Draco was sure she spoke French, hell most everyone spoke the damned language.
"Quel dialectes ne votre oh jaloux frère parler, ou toute que vous parlez qu'il ne fonctionne pas ? Être tellement gentil à vous parler sans lui écoutes." As he said this he sniffed the contents of a cup someone passed him. It didn't have the tang of liquor radiating off it so he dropped a measure of whiskey from his flask straight into the cider before drinking from the cup. Again he switched languages to keep Emerson guessing, something he might know, but not expecting.
"Wenn er nicht weiß, dass jede Sprache ich spreche, kann ich immer passieren Sie Noten. Ich werde verschlüsseln, etwas einfaches, aber abwegig." Some French linguist looked around at his talking to her, more rumors made a journey around the room. He was sure it was something to the effect of Draco and Emerson fighting for Amelia's affection. Then the German caught others again, more rumors flared up, this time about Draco and Amelia making plans for a late night rendezvous. To bad German translated to English so badly.

Amelia Valentine
Amelia sipped at her cider again and had a sudden yearning for a nice, long smoke outside. But alas, there was no smoking on campus, not even for the Seniors; they'd lost that privilege during Amelia's junior year when the admins had caught a bunch of Freshies lighting up faggots given to them via Seniors. Suffice it to say, the Brass had not been happy. Her smoke would have to wait, at least until she returned to a dorm room.
"Eindrucksvolle Liste. Man könnte sogar mit meinen eigenen konkurrieren."
Amelia heard something of the rumors (and really, at Steering you'd have to be Helen Keller not to hear of a rumor) and smiled into her cup. The plebs don't even know the half of it, but they chatter away like cuckoos. When she spoke again, Amelia kept to German.
"Emerson spricht fast alles, was ich zu tun, außer Deutsch, und ich spreche kein Griechisch, wie er tut. Er ist wirklich ganz erstaunlich, der Kerl, mein Bruder ist, auch wenn er nicht zu sehr eifersüchtig auf Zeit."
Feeling Emerson tense up again beside her, she switched abruptly back to English; he did not like to be kept out of the loop. Everyone around them however, gave Amelia a strange look; it was probably the most words they'd ever heard her say in public, even if it wasn't in English.
"But what do we have to hide from him, hm?"

Invictus Draconius Kalsidius VI "Nothing I just like to see him squirm." Draco laughed softly as someone up front tried to the get the gatherings attention. Draco wasn't sure how this worked, but from the twenty or so people he assumed this was it, and was now wondering what movie they were going to watch.
"What is the film selection for the evening? New, old, classic, horror, comedy? Romance?" Emerson looked over at the word romance and Draco winked at him.
"I might cut out early anyway, I need a smoke, haven't had one all day." Draco was now twirling a cigarette between his fingers.

"Do you have another one of those?"
Of course he smokes, too. Who doesn't now a days? Something that was bad for you, it would feel wrong, wouldn't it? Despite herself, Amelia glanced at Emerson; she pushed such thoughts from her mind. Now is so not the time, Amelia. Later. She turned to where Draco was looking and shrugged.
"Je ne sais pas. I didn't plan the evening."
"It's a horror movie. A couple of them, actually. Cloverfield and one of the Saws, although I can't be sure which one. We all voted, and that was the only genre we could come to any sort of conclusion. Seems like a couple blokes wanted a cheap date."
Emerson grinned. Yeah, like you've never done that. Amelia shook her head, and passed her barely touched drink off to Emerson, to watch. As his was already empty, Emerson took a sip.
"I'm going to the WC. I'll be back in five."
The words were tossed over her shoulder in passing, as she was already walking away. She spent more then five minutes in the water closet of course, as it was physically impossible for a girl to spend less then five in there, for even so simple a task as reappling lip gloss. Not that Amelia was wearing the cursed stuff, but still. She fixed herself in the mirror, taking her time to do a quick line of Coke one of her friends offered. When Amelia came back out, everyone had settled around the set, watching one of the movies. By the screams, she thought it was Saw.
She worked her way through the tangle of legs and arms and settled on the ground near Draco with her back to the couch; beside her, Emerson was sitting on the couch, his arm stretched out the length of the couch's spin, around some girl, of course. Amelia leaned her head against the side of Emerson's knee, and resolved to enjoy the movie. Within fifteen minutes, she felt like she was going to throw up. How could anyone enjoy this?

Invictus Draconius Kalsidius VI Draco kept chuckling through the movie, and people kept glaring back to which they were greeted with a smile and a middle finger. Eventually they ignored him and the movie ended. Draco wasn't about to watch a second film with the insufferable people in here. The lights flicked on and most everybody stood stretching out cramped muscles and refilling their cups and plates.
"You said you wanted one. I have the keys to the roof." Draco withdrew another cigarette from the pack and jingled a set of keys. It was actually a full set to every door on campus. Cost him nearly twelve hundred dollars to get them.
"Teachers never look up, and they don't expect students on the roof of the dorms." Draco handed her the cigarette and walked away. He wasn't going to wait to see if she followed.

Amelia Valentine
Amelia didn't need to be offered twice; she tugged the cigarette behind her ear and followed Draco to the roof access with a few murmured words to Emerson as to her new location. When she got up there, Draco was leaning against a wall, blowing a stream of blue-gray smoke up into the air; Amelia joined him. She recovered her cigarette from its holding place behind her ear, and put in into her mouth.
"Got a light? Mine's at home."
