Could it be possible that, like in many interviews, Dir en grey chose to joke around with the interviewer and lie sarcastically? I mean... Die really couldn't say that he hates Gothic fashion seeing as... well, it seemed to be an influence in Diru's style for quite a while...

I find it ridiculous you guys are getting so worked up over what some guy thinks.
YES, he's just some guy. It doesn't matter HOW famous he is or what band he's in -- he's still just another guy you don't need the approval of.
Especially since there's not a big chance of most of you meeting him.
Do what you like. Not what you think some rockstar would like.
I'm going to wear exactly what I want to. I like lolita, and I'm going to wear it, regardless of what ANY guy says about it. Even Die. I don't dress to impress guys, and what Die supposedly said isn't going to change that.
I mean, unless you're a bandgirl. If that's your only reason for wearing lolita in the first place, care all you want.

i personally don't care much for goth lolis.
the whole concept of dressing like a giant 12 year old from victorian england isn't appealing.
and i know a girl who wore a horrible loli outfit to a prom she shouldn't have even gone to.
but hey, poeple are gonna say what they want, when they want, and no one is gonna stop them.

so i think he's just referring to the style. we can't blame him for disliking a dress sense. and he says 'personally', emphasising that he's only stating an opinion
