Dee and Pika looked at each other then smiled. They replied as one, "Fine with us. Just as long as we can make it to Pewter City."

It didn't take the group much longer after that to reach Pewter City. And the city was in chaos to say the least. The most noticable was the Pokemon Lab that often could resurrect old Amber. Rock type Pokemon were everywhere! They were like police officers under heavy guard.

Understandably they were guarding a gym treasure, the worth of which was high priced. Dee figured that's why Team Rocket was with them, but she also figured, since it was those particular three, they deserved a break.

Pika looked to Dee and asked, "Okay, now what do we do? There are so many!"

Chuckling, Dee replied, "Its a wonder why you met Brock, Pika. Or have learned something along your journeys. Rock Pokemon are weakest against grass, water, and steel. That means, its my time to shine. I will use my leaf blades and have them all surrender to me. Simple and effective. Plus, it will help them snap out of whatever spell they are under. I see with our Pokemon Ranger friend here, he can be of assistance too. Goku is a fighting type Pokemon that has Brick Break. He could handle the gym like right now while the rest of us handle the other Pokemon and the buildings also. Team Rocket, since you want to prove your worth to us, why don't the three of you check out the lab? Meowth, you are best with communications so, I want you to see if anyone is hurt in there. If there are, Jessie, I want you to summon your very own Chansey. I know you can do it. As for you James, you are awesome at finding unique antiquities. Scope out for any loose supplies that may be lying around. The rest of you...Kona, Ekans, Saya, Pika, you are all following me. Do we all know what we are to do?"

Saya nodded and followed Dee to the Gym.

Kona nodded even though he wasn't probably listening to Dee but looking at the egg instead. Kona followed Saya by her side looking at the egg.

Agreeing to the terms set out by the Sceptile, Meowth, James, and Jessie all went to work.

Meowth entered the busted up laboratory and immediately spotted a few workers that were heavily damaged. He said, "Jessie over here. I found a bunch of them workers. Maybe we can heal them for a small price?"

Jessie walked over to the workers, and then whacked Meowth. She said, "We are not here for profitable gain right now, Meowth. We have to play this smart. Besides, I am sure that Sceptile will reward us handsomely if we do what she says. She may be a Pokemon right now, but if you are right and she is indeed an Empress, she has loads of cash to spare. Perhaps working on the side of good and working for her would be better than working for our old boss. Plus, think of all the connections she has."

Meowth put his claw to his lip in thought. He replied, "You make a good point there, Jessie. Okay, no fee. Chansey do your stuff."

Chansey nodded and replied, "Right."

The Chansey healed the workers and said to them, "For now, please flee to Viridian City to the Pokemon Center. They will give you more comfortable lodgings until we can clean up this mess, Okay?"

The workers didn't need to be asked twice. They fled because they feared the talking Chansey.

It has the ability to foretell natural disasters. It has a life-span of 100 years.

Absol peered down at Pewter City from the safety of Mt. Moon. She could feel something happening down there, something with the potential to become dangerous. Her instincts told her to appear to the people of Pewter City and try to warn them about it, but her experience made her wary of entering the place. Absols were notorious for showing up right before disasters to try and warn the humans of danger, but were instead treated as harbingers of doom and attacked. The last time she had gone down there, about 9 years ago, the current Pokemon League champion had been there and tried to catch her. With a Beedrill hot on her heels, she had fled, knowing her weakness against Bug-types, and narrowly escaped. Not long after, a landslide cause by a migration of Diglett and Dugtrio in the surrounding mountains engulfed the northwestern quarter of town.

She leapt carefully down the side of Mt. Moon, using all her skill to leave no more trace of her passage than a wisp of wind. She felt sure nobody had spotted her as she landed at the base of Mt. Moon, far from the entrance most hikers and trainers used to go through the mountain to Cerulean City. She began to move closer to Pewter City in order to find out more about the commotion.

She soon sat at the top of an overhanging cliff that gave her a clear, detailed view of Pewter City. A commotion seemed to be going on around the Pokemon Gym. People fled out and headed south, into Viridian Forest. Her danger senses tingled almost uncontrollably. Something was very wrong. She suddenly realized she was standing in a tense position, ready to spring down and rush to the Pokemon Gym, heedless of who she was seen by. She forced herself to sit back down and observe carefully.

As suspected, Brock had been bound by Onix who roared like the snake he was. Onix eyed Dee and asked her, "What is your business here, human?!"

Dee replied, "A darkness has invaded your soul, Onix. Look at what you have done to your friend."

Onix looked, but did not care. Then Dee offered, "How about this, you and I in an honest to goodness battle. If you faint, you release Brock and this town. If I faint, then... well, you can decide what happens."

The rock snake could not avert such an opportunity and replied, "Very well."

Onix started with Sandstorm and Dee used bullet seed. Onix's health went down to the yellow. Onix used growl, and Dee used Rock smash next. Onix's health went down to the red, and his defense fell. Onix used earthquake, bringing Dee's health to the yellow. Dee then used Rock Climb, which wasn't very effective. It did cause Onix to be confused, however.

Onix was going to use tackle, but hit itself and it fainted. Brock could hardly believe his eyes!

As soon as he was free, he pinned on the Boulder Badge treasure onto one of Dee's leaves. He pet Dee and said, "You earned this badge fair and square. Thank you for saving my life. If it wouldn't be too much trouble, could I accompany you? I have been itching for another adventure."

Dee nodded. She then led Brock to the outside and showed him the chaos. Brock let out a loud whistle for the rock pokemon to come into order and that everything was okay again.

The sceptile then spoke, "Pardon me if this frightens you Brock, but I am not a real sceptile. I have been turned into this by some dark magic. Not that I am complaining. I am so getting used to this form. Anyway, my friends and I are going to be headed to Cerulean City next. I am getting the feeling that Misty and her sisters are also in grave danger due to this same magic."

Brock nodded and said, "All right, well, the best way there is through Mount Moon. Are you certain that Team Rocket isn't behind all this?"

Dee replied, "Positive. In fact, I have them helping us. And if I must say, they are doing a fine job at it. They aren't stealing Pokemon, so relax. They wanted to change their ways to see if a life of honest work was better than a life of crime."

Brock then asked, "Where do you think this chaos actually started?"

Dee put one leaf to her mouth in thought, then replied, "I am pretty sure we will find our answers in the Sinnoh Region, but, as you know, its a long ways there. Pika here is missing Ash like crazy, so we are also on the search for Ash."

"That is very sensible," Brock said next, "So, what are we waiting for?"

"We are waiting until everyone is gathered back here. Oh, and I can sense an Absol nearby. The absol is friendly, and is watching over us like a legendary."

Absol jerked in surprise when the Pokemon came out of the Gym followed by Brock, the Gym Leader. He seemed to be talking to them. Focusing a little harder, she was shocked to find that the Sceptile was not really a true Pokemon. The aura around it seemed to be of a human, oddly enough. She frowned in puzzlement. What could cause a Pokemon to have a human's aura? Were there others? Her curiosity to investigate almost overcame her good sense to stay put.

At least her danger senses weren't tingling anymore. She was glad her nerves had calmed some. Absols were, by nature, jumpy and shy Pokemon. Years of persecution by humans only served to reinforce those tendencies. She laid down, crossing her forepaws. If only Absols knew how to speak the human language. She couldn't, and knew of only one Pokemon who could. It was the infamous Meowth, legendary for his willing cooperation with Team Rocket. An involuntary snarl lifted her lips as she thought about Team Rocket. They were one of the few criminal organizations that were an Absol's worst nightmare. They thought nothing of harming people and Pokemon, either directly or indirectly. They often caused many natural disasters with their activities, endangering many habitats. Just being near them would drive any Absol nearly mad with danger sense.

Getting a bit tired of waiting, Dee said to Brock, "When everyone else gets to where you are, let me know. I want to meet and greet the Absol that has been eyeing us for some time now."

Walking towards the mountain, Dee made her way up to where the absol was. She made sure to put on her friendly aroma and used her secret Sweet Scent to prevent Absol from running away.

Sweet scent was a common move amongst grass types and its highly effective when it came to training. For it lowers a Pokemon's evasiveness and if it is hiding anywhere, one will automatically be drawn to the one doing the training.

When the Sceptile began moving to where Absol sat, she immediately grew suspicious. An Absol was nearly impossible to detect when it chose not to reveal itself, despite its unusual appearance. All Absols had the ability to completely still their movement, becoming as immobile as a boulder. She wondered why this Sceptile seemed to be heading straight toward her.

Her muscles were tensed to run when all of a sudden, a sweet, enticing aroma filled the air. It reminded Absol of her mother's scent, back when she was just a little cub playing with her siblings. The aroma teased her delicate sense of smell, relaxing her muscles, assuring her that everything was alright, that there was no danger here. She began following the scent to its source, oblivious to other surroundings. When she looked up, she nearly attacked in surprise. The Sceptile loomed over her, looking very intimidating. Compared to her own 4 feet of height, the Sceptile was an impressive 5.5 feet. Surprisingly, it only outweighed her by 10-15 pounds. She backed up, snarling, activating her special Pressure ability. It caused other Pokemon to think twice before attacking, and end up using more of their power as a result.

"What do you want with me, half-breed?" She spat out her words in the language of the Absols.

Dee smiled and replied, "No need to be alarmed, Absol. I am friendly. I figured, since you had been watching over my friends and I that you might want to join us on a little adventure. Yes, I am a half breed, well... sort of. I am half tuffle, half saiyan. My Tuffle blood, along with some criminal activity going on in this world caused me to fuse with my sceptile. My intelligence is like that of a legendary Pokemon. I can speak human as well as any Pokemon language there is. Lately, there has been more than just one Pokemon that can speak human. Yes, I am sure you have heard of the infamous talking Meowth. You know, if that Meowth opened up his own Pokemon language academy, he could really teach these Pokemon to speak the language of the humans. But, I digress, I am on a mission also. My friends and I are looking for the criminal syndicate behind the mysterious behavior of other beings fusing with their Pokemon, I have already confirmed it isn't Team Rocket, though they seemed the most likely. Jessie, James, and yes, even the Meowth are a part of our travelling companions. They desire to become good for once. Those three anyway. I doubt Giovanni would be so...well, I don't even want to think of that loser. So, what do you say, do you wish to join us? We are also looking for Ash Ketchum as we travel. That poor Pikachu named Pika has lost his trainer, and yet I feel that through each section we pass, we are not that far off from where he is."

Kona walked outside. "ummmm is anyone out here." A Clefairy looked at Kona. Kona stopped. "Who are you?" he asked the Clefairy. "Can't you tell this is a dream, Cyndaquil boy," Kona looked at the Clefairy. "Come and meet me on Mount Moon." The Clefairy disappeared. Kona woke up. "I guess I fell asleep again."

Pika fired a thunderbolt at Kona and said, "Come on! Dee's ready to go. And we have a real treat! Brock the Gym leader has joined us on this journey!"

Kona got shocked. "ow." He said looking at Pika. "Sorry I guess I must've dosed off. " he looked at Brock. "So you are a gym leader huh?" He asked him

Brock nodded, "I am. So, you're a Cyndaquil huh? Ash had one of them too, but since everything's been all crazy lately, nobody except that Sceptile up on Mount Moon knows anything over what is going on. She has somewhat of a commanding, but generous nature about her. And yet, for some reason, the way she handles everyone, its like... she's a new Criminal Syndicate leader."

Kona looked at both Brock and Pika. "Mount moon. Are we going to climb it," he said looking at the mountain. "What time do the Clefairies come out?" he asked.
