For Eos:

"Can it, sister," said the tailor, laughing. "Give me a kiss on the cheek and I'll tell you about the real fairy. I'm not interested in your metal crap. 'Everything you know' -- you're not too swift at this haggling business, are you? Least you started high. Everything I know? Be my slave forever, and at the end of a hundred years I'll tell you everything I know. Pucker up."

A raven had settled nearby. It was watching Eos with its beady eyes. Cautiously?

"I'll crow three times in warning," it said.

Eos could buy (or barter, considering the price), tell the seller something, or ask it a question.

The guard:

The Knife of Pure-heart was handed over to Rosalind, brought out of some pouch that surely could not have held it before. It was a beautiful pearl-handled knife in a silver scabbard, with the scabbard adorned with engravings of apple-blossom inlaid with moonstone. It was very light to carry.

Rosalind was given another clinking pouch which ostensibly held the silver coins.

"The real fairy looks like the real fairy," said the guard to Azzo, and his impatience seemed to be wearing thin. "There. I'm not interested in un's mortal trinkets. You've lost a mess of things -- but you e'nt lost them here. The real fairy looks like the real fairy! Bugger off!"

For Selenite:

The wares of the alchemists' were varied in colours, scents and textures. The fire-skinned men took little notice of her, discussing something in a low, discordant language that was independent of her presence and could have been about anything. Hundreds of beakers in different materials glistened in racks, and evil-smelling potions bubbled behind them. Rolls of maps with alchemical symbols peeped out at her -- recipes? -- and there were hundreds of different powders, with a roll of paper next to it so that you could buy a twist wrapped up.

Selenite could buy, tell the sellers something, or ask them a question.

...

Selenite, Grendel, Aphrodite and Eos are at the East side of the market. Azzo, Rosalind and Scheelite are at the Mouth.

For the East:
The sweet seller, alchemy sellers, cauldron man and tailor are here. One might examine a stall, tell a seller something, or ask one a question.

For the Mouth:
The guard is here.

The Straggling Marketplace consists of the mouth, the east stalls and the west stalls. You are at the east. You may go in two directions.

"Oh, thank you so much," Rosalind chimed while gingerly taking the adorned knife in hand. It was lovely-- feminine, floral, opalescent, stunning-- some of her favorite things, but deadly! "You don't know how much this will help," she told the guard after taking the pouch of jingling coins. She wondered if it was an enchanted pouch like the one the knife had come from, and tried to put her newly-gained knife in with the coins.

To her chagrin, it wasn't, and the handle awkwardly hung out on top. Rosalind tied the sack's strings onto the golden strap that ran along the bottom of her bodice and slipped the knife alongside it. She felt like a warrior princess.

With her coins, that were just burning a giant hole in her pocket, Rosalind wanted to pay the guard to divulge further information on this 'real' fairy. He seemed cranky, though, and besides-- she had seen enough of his nasty eye. She wondered, though, what exactly was a 'real' fairy? Were all the creatures around her not fairy enough? Obviously, this 'real' fairy had something to do with the Hunt she had heard mentioned earlier. If she were to win this Hunt, maybe she would be granted a wish?

Rosalind now had a goal.

"Scheelite, stay. Here." Her commanding tone was accompanied by an icy stare as she waltzed off to the east and away from any humans who may have been watching her. Rosalind pondered how to make a real fairy appear, and suddenly remembered one of her favorite stories-- Peter Pan. Almost instantly, she recalled her favorite scene, the one in which Peter beckoned everyone to clap for the dying Tinkerbell, and to chant "I do believe!"

Rosalind looked left-- no Scheelite, no Eos-- Rosalind looked right-- no Azzo, no Guard-- and then clapped her hands together whilst shouting, "I do believe in fairies! I do!" Rosalind waited for the true fairy to show up and tell her what to do, but at that moment she caught whiff of something much more important-- sweets. Shuffling over to the stall from which the scent wafted, Rosalind inspected the myriad of containers that were full of colorful treats.

"Hello, how are you?" Rosalind asked the beautiful green woman, "are you ready for the Hunt?"

Oh great, Rosalind had a weapon now! A pointy one from the looks of the shiny (really...really shiny) scabbard it was in. Schee (still sulking away) bit his lip in an attempt to hold in a grumble. It didn't work well. He got flowers and a screwed up voice, and Rosalind got a friggin knife and got to keep her rather annoying voice. How was -that- fair?

UGH.

The blonde frowned heavily at the command to stay put. Uhh, he wasn't a dog, and he most certainly wasn't going to sit here all day waiting for something to happen.
"Check yes Juliet I'll be waiting, wishing wanting..."
He trailed off, because he was not telling Rosalind he'd be 'hers for the taking'. Just no. He was pretty sure his boyfriend would not appreciate that, and neither would he. Rosalind was....well she was a girl. A bossy pain in the a** GIRL. So no. Definitely no.

Screw waiting. He had told Rosalind he'd stay put, but he had his fingers crossed while saying so. It wasn't a lie that way right? Right! So once Rosalind was well on her way to the east stalls, Scheelite got to his feet, cast one glance to Azzo, and quietly followed Rosalind towards the east. Along the way he was treated to a rather hilarious show of Rosalind trying to call upon all the powers of Peter Pan to...do whatever it was she was trying to do. The boy gave a quiet snicker and followed on, though really he shouldn't be laughing considering his own little display at the weapon's stall. He just wouldn't speak of that again (not that he could even if he wanted to).

Maybe he should have checked out the west? But with how hard it seemingly was to communicate that could have proven disasterous. Likewise the idea of going to the cauldron which seemed to have no visitors yet. No, instead Scheelite slipped up beside Rosalind at the sweets stand and whispered in her ear.
"You can fly you can fly you can fly you can flyyyy!!"

Azzo gave a disgruntled look at the guard before walking off. He didn't even notice Schee's glance, by now there probably was a rain cloud over his head drenching him. When he noticed everyone hovering over by the east stalls his nose wrinkled.

"Fine, I don't need anything that I lost from you anyways." He muttered as he left the guard, he had wasted his time even trying, he should've known better. He could've been well on his way through the east looking to see what he could find, but not to trust his eyes the raven said.

He might as well have been the outcast, he was the only human after all. He shook his head, "Stupid... everything I always do..." He muttered while walking over to have a look at the West stalls. Just to see what was there, while he knew the guard said east he didn't really feel like being around everyone else. Plus who knew what was over there, everyone probably picked the stalls clean on the East anyways.

So not touching anything he walked around and stood in the middle looking around at the stalls to see what was there. It's not like anyone would miss him anyways.

Oh...okay. Despite his childlike appearance, this kid seemed to know his stuff - perhaps she'd been a little naive to think that children were really children in this strange nightmare world. He only wanted a kiss on the cheek, though, which was doable. And he wanted her to give it to him? Well, surely that was safer, since that way she could pull away if anything strange happened! She made as if she was thinking the process through, not wanting to just give in - that wasn't smart. She wanted him to think this wasn't the sort of thing she did often, that he was getting a treat. Which he was, really.

"Okay," she replied with a sweet smile, giving a glance sideways to the raven. Warning? What would it need to warn her of? Needless to say, she wasn't going to ignore the advice, giving a grateful smile and nod to the crow before turning back to the tailor, crouching down to his height.

"Ready?" she asked with a wide smile, before leaning in to place a kiss on his cheek.

Selenite looked slightly put out that the men? behind the stall didn't seem to notice her. That was bad business, not to mention incredibly rude. Her eyes flicked over the various wares spread across the table; it meant very little to her, as it all seemed to be related to alchemy and magic. Not really a subject taught at Crystal Academy.

Putting on her best helplessly confused face, Selenite coughed to draw their attention. "Excuse me," she asked the sellers, "What do you sell here?"

Grendel paused to observe his surroundings for just a moment, curling his lip at the bawdy tailor before choosing to head towards the []bcauldron man. His strides were careful, if deliberate, and he paused to peer at whatever it was the man was brewing.

"What is that you are making?" He asked politely, though wondered if he would be wasting his time on investigating some crackpot concoction.

Despite having tagged along after Grendel, Aphrodite strayed to the side, ending up beside the ever-somber looking Selenite, who'd wandered off earlier as everyone had gathered around the instrument seller. But her attention was on the foul-smelling potions in front of them, rather than the girl, and attempting to be practical about the situation, shel asked the seller a question.

"Would any of this assist us on the Hunt?"

"Blah blah blah juliet wishing blah blah blah stupid stupid stupid!!"

That's what Rosalind heard from behind. And she didn't like it. Hadn't she told that buffoon to wait back with the treeman? Hadn't she?! Rosalind felt like a mother with an awful, horrendous son who needed Adderall every morning.

Her lips pursed and nostrils began to flare up as she turned around to face the Negaverser. "Scheelite!!!! I've heard enough," she spat, "why are you even following me?!"

Rosalind arched her eyebrows so high, it almost looked like she didn't have any. "Please, disregard this wacko," she told the nymph, "he's insane, I apologize. He's a real burden on everyone."

She turned back around and added, "if you pretend like he is not there, maybe he'll go away." This comment was said under her breath.
