He's supposed to be a lot more icy and vicious than some of the recent tour Phantoms.

I'm feeling incredibly stupid now.
What is the difference between seeing it on broadway, and on tour?
I've only seen one show live, and that was Cats ... on tour I guess.

The tour is a traveling production that goes to a different theatre in a different city every few months. Other than that? The casts are different and the special effects are a bit bigger on broadway.

I'm going to the show on the 16th, so only ten days away and I can hardly sit still in anticapation.

I don't think he was THAT icy... he seemed much more haughty though, especially toward Carlotta and Raoul. but OMG he was SO fabulous! When he came out on stage for the curtain call he got an instant Standing Ovation. His performance made me cry so hard. Luckily there was another girl behind us who cried just as hard as I did, so we were basket-cases together. The show was just phenomenal though. I would see it again in a heartbeat.
