In another section of the Lustien Master Commander Vincent Kast was preping his marine officers on the situation...
"Alright men, there is a chance will be getting off this ship. Now our ship will begin the assault with the fly boys and the main cannons. After that, our friendlies will launch Marines on the surface of the planet. If things get to hot for them, will be going in to save their sorry asses. Any questions?" No one asked a question, they knew what they had to do."Go prep your men, and hopefully these freaks will be fighting will actually put up a fight!" Everyone chukled as they left and the Master Commander was left there pondering the situation.

"Ammo supplies throughout the fleet are at 43%. I'd say we have enough for another major engagement, but... It won't last at all. Hell, I'd say we call up the home fleet and ask for them to start churning out RFMEC 200s for the Hrothgyrs. I hate to say it, but I think we're going into energy weapons, unless we find an uninhabitated world." The captain remarked to the Admiral.
"Yeah, that would be a problem if the Hrothgyrs ran out in the middle of a fighter swarm, wouldm't?"
"Yeh got that right. We could restock on ammo if we were allowed to drop the mining facility onto the surface but no... no prefab structures unless its a tent or a landing pad."
"Yeah, I know. I hate to think that our ground-pounders are sitting there without any sort of base to rest in."
