A fire pig, a grass snake, and an otter. What goes through Nintendos head today... The fire pig alone is a horrible idea. Pigs don't shoot fire, i'd be best if they stuck to a ground pig or maybe a water pig, but fire.. Ugh... The grass snake seems like the only acceptable one because he looks the best...

Ugh... Maybe they were at a lou out and thought "Hey! That's be a great idea for a Pokemon!"... though to be honest with you, any fire type starter that isn't partially Fighting-type is a welcoming sight in my view. The fact that it's a Pig (that would most likely evolve into some mad crazy looking boar) is just a bonus. pirate

The starters are usually what they use to attract even more attention. Zoroak looks awesome, so keeping the thrill alive, the starters should have done the same. Hopefully the evolutions make up for it. And.... The rest of the Gen5 pokemon better be something spectacular.

I think it is safe to say that the Fire Pig is going to evolve into a Fire Boar and be mostly physical brutality. Hopfully it has decent defences, which is what Fire-types need more of.
The "Snake" (which is obviously a lizard -_-) is going to be speedy like Sceptile was. The Otter, which I am not suprized they made one of, will most likely have some Buff HP.
Of course these are all theories, and there is no telling what else is going to be revealed.

Lets just hope they don't go overboard on the legendaries, again. stare
There are a few things that are a given: There will be a Dragon, like Dragonite, Tyranitar (Not a dragon, but still in the same class), Salamance, and Garchomp. Every region has had one. There will also be intro pokemon, one of which being a flyer. Pidgy & Ratatta, Hoothoot & Sentret, Swellow & Zigzangoon, Starly & Bidoof.
Every type will also have a number of new entries, and some will even have new parts of an existing chain. Not to mention all the other pokemon to fill in the gaps.
So, since they have already gotten a lot of chains and additions out of the way with Gen 4, I think it is safe to say that Gen 5 will be a whole new experience.

xXSpirit KnightXx Water Pychic will be awesome. But honestly, i was praying for a Water/Flying type, whitch i cant seem to find. We have a forgotten friend called Slowbro for the Water/Psychic. And as Kyrenx said, Gyarados and Mantine for Water/Flying. Pig'll probably be Fire/Ground. If it's Fire/Fighting again, I will personally strangle the game creators. Loving the Grass reptile. Best of the three in my current opinion. Subject to change once the evos are revealed.

I just hope gen 5 won't be a repeat of gen 4, which seemed like half of the entire Sinnoh dex was pre/evolutions instead of new families.
That's probably an exaggeration but still...

Oh When i mean Water/Flying I want a water/flying type that can actually know the move Fly, and such. As i recall Gyrados only learns 1-3 flying moves that are decent. and Mantine just seems to weak lol.

Matine has 140 base SpDef, 80 base SpAtk, 70 base Defence, and 65 base HP. It is not a weak pokemon. Just a very underestimated pokemon. It is just unfortunate that most of the good moves he can learn are Physical, which his Physical abilities are nothing to boast about. It also has Water Absorb ability, which allows it to heal when it is hit with a water-type attack.
Gyarados is self-explainitory.

heck, maybe the starters aren't the natural fire, water, and grass types? The bottom one looks like it could be a psychic type >.< the top left could be dark and the top right could be fighting >.<

hopefully their evolutions will make up for the horrible start.. Grass looks like it has over all potential. Fire looks like the evolution will have some potential but for some reason it doesnt seem to fit the usualy scheme of fire starters.. water.. it may have potential.. at a circus.. i cant give much more of a liabl opinion until the evos actually come out...

Hollow Revolution heck, maybe the starters aren't the natural fire, water, and grass types? The bottom one looks like it could be a psychic type >.< the top left could be dark and the top right could be fighting >.< You've got one stretching imagination. They are Fire/Water/Grass, and that is a factt of Pokemon which shall never change. Ans as much as I hate explaining it, Psychic/Fighting/Dark isn't a true type triangle.
