Nico was glad to see he still hadn't lost his touch, smirking as he seemed to realign with the world. With a puff of breath, she blew her bangs from her eyes, straightening up a little as she saw him fall still. "Oh just the intro. Thats all. Shall we get serious?" She asked, almost seeming to bow to him, straightening up as she fell still herself, tilting her head a little.
Ignoring the spectators, it was just her and him in her mind. Some part of her mind reminded her that if her blood was drawn, the staff would emerge, but that was not important now. The important thing was trying to figure out what he would do. And if he did nothing, what would she do?

Jane smiled. "Serious? When is fighting ever serious?" He joked, bowing lightly towards her, all the while armed and ready. Once he straightened, he stayed still, and grinned wildly. It was nothing new for him to stand still and wait to catch his breath during a match, but this time it appeared that he was plotting something in his stillness. "Ladies first."

Pausing, she touched her finger to her lips, as if to think over what he said. She honestly didn't like this, not really wanting to run into things head first. "oh...? You do have a point." She mused, sighing lightly. She did dart forward, but only feigned a blow, staying back since she wasn't sure what he was thinking of. Circling, she strafed and observed, her senses on high alert. Yet her movements remained fluid instead of tensing up, feigning another jab before moving back. What was he planning?

Jane watched the faux blows go by him, grinning coyly. He turned around, putting her back to himself. Still watching her out of the corner of his eye, he awaited her next move.

Why do I get the feeling I'm about to get hit? Nico grimaced, but she now tensed. Suddenly she dropped down and aimed a sweeping kick to his ankles, stabbing upward before seeming to dance backwards, aiming another slash. She refused to lose the sparring match, but she did realize what a formidable opponent he was. No one on the team was something to reckon with. Least from the ones she knew. Gabriel she wasn't so sure of, but she was probably soon to learn once this match was decided.

Jane dodged Nico's attack by spinning, going around to her back while she was distracted. Finishing his movement quickly, he stuck his rapier against her back, gently touching it as he waited for her to react. "Anything else?" He asked sweetly, even with the weapon against her back.

It was lucky she had barely dodged a strike, seeming to come to a pause. Nico simply tilted her head, feeling the tip of the rapier against her back. "No blood has been drawn my friend. The match isn't over." She murmured, spinning with a step forward, bringing her blade up around her body to knock away his blow. As she spun on her heel, she leaped forward once facing him, lunging with the tip pointed at his throat. She thought she may have pricked skin, but perhaps she had been wrong. Jumping back, she stood ready, now waiting on him if she hadn't pricked his neck. "Ladies first." She smirked, though she was a little troubled how close that had been. She had known it was a trap, at the very least she could be glad to have identified it as such.
(( Wasn't sure if he was just pointing at her back or he struck it. Hence the vagueness at the beginning of my post. >.< ))

"Of course not, it was too early to end the match." Jane grinned, cracking his neck. Nico hadn't quite pricked his skin, and he was glad for it. Sticking out his tongue for a moment, he swiveled on one foot to twist back to being shoulder to shoulder to her. Laughing gently, he continued to use a disarming move while standing right there.

Damn. She had been too lenient. It would be quite easy to tell if he drew her blood considering her staff would pop out. She wasn't about to let that happen. It was annoying enough to get pricked, but her staff coming out was just painful. Twisting her wrist, she tossed her sword up, catching it with her other hand, slashing downward to force him back unless he wanted to run the risk of something slipping and cutting him.
Expecting him to parry, she side-stepped to his back, turning herself as she struck so she seemed to spin. She stood a few feet away from him, remaining as fluid as water.

Jane moved away from Nico, though instead of parrying, he stepped back, examining her stance. A bright smile was across his face as he circled around her at a distance. Getting around to her back, he ran forward, taking a slash at her ankles, close enough that he might have just hit the vein. "Your Achilles' heel." He said as he swung past the ankle, feeling some toughness, but that may not have been her actual ankle.

Nico spun around and dodged, her rapier the toughness that he felt. No, her ankle was instead a few centimeters away. Flicking her sword up as she knocked his blade away, she made a disarming move of her own, aiming to not only disarm him but to, at the very least, nick his hand or finger or something in the process.

Jane noticed Nico's block just as she managed to disarm him, the rapier flying up into the air. Luckily, she hadn't managed to nick him at all in the process. He stepped back to catch the handle, thrown off balance for a moment. This threw his thinking process completely off, and his thoughts ended up going back to searching for past events.
His eyes glazed over and he struck up his rapier, stepping forward toward her. There was evidence that Jane yet again was lost in searching his memory and had resorted to subconscious movements. He had it simply in a block movement.

Once he lost balance, she moved in a careful strafe around him, giving the occasional stab. It felt a little odd to attack while he was vulnerable, but she was going to take advantage of this. Stabbing once to distract him, she moved around to his back now attempting to press her point a bit hard to his back. Certainly hard enough to penetrate skin. But if that weren't enough, she danced around him again, seeming rather close to him.

Nico did penetrate skin on Jane's back, though she missed his vein entirely. No blood flowed from the cut, and his confused mind turned his body about quickly. A quick movement, he was on her right side. Her left. Her front. Her back. A stab. Where was he at this point? Her side. Which side? Not sure. Hm. Movement to get even closer, brushing against her. Attempt to dig rapier into her leg. Should have pierced skin. Her rapier had been in opposite arm. Nothing to block.
