I'm watching it on youtube, and am somewhat underwhelmed. The faces are all similar, the backgrounds are blah and barely detailed from what I see, and despite Cullen, the voices aren't doing it for me. For instance, Starscream's voice actor has been in so much lately (three voices in Ben 10 alone) that he is now the 'generic' voice to me. He's flippin everywhere.
I still withhold final judgment for now, but thus far, seen better.
EDIT: Okay, I have now seen the first two parts of the event. My earlier comments still stand, but my interest is piqued. I do like the relationship established between Megs and Prime this go-around. Welker seems to have learned to resume the classic voice better this time, as he no longer sounds like a hoarse man screaming. No, now he sounds far more in control, and Magni likes.
First blush on the human girl seems accurate. She is Sari 2.0 complete with the same personality traits, and annoying habits. If she turns into a cyborg, I call foul. Raph hasn't had enough face time to really shine or stink up the place yet. The male lead, Jack, seems . . . dare I say it, Spike-ish. He isn't overly annoying, and yet smart enough to back the slag off when needed. Better than I had hoped. Let's just say he isn't Rad from Energon/Armada.
Kinda miss Bulkhead's voice from Animated, but having the Question voice Ratchet was a nice touch. Oh, and spoiler: The Rock evidently wasn't in this for the long haul. I won't say more than that.
Still undecided, but willing to keep giving it a try.

who is the rock? if he was cliff jumper thas to damn funny. i liked the darkness in the show, and how it like a combo of all the good bits of, gen 1, animated, and even the movies. i even like like the 3 years in on earth so we skip the government getting involved and they just let the transformers work. so far the pet humans arent overly annoying, and i kinda like the spazyness of Sari 2.0. the fights are good and switching between 3rd person and 1st person view is a bold move, gives the feel of playing a game. i wish there were more Cons only 3 and bunch of drones makes me sad.

Well, I had my doubts about TF: Prime but it actually turned out a lot better than I was expecting (strangely flat faces that in same way seemed appropriate for a species of giant alain robots but where still rather boring to look at and annoying little asain school girls aside) and am rather looking forward to the new series which is supposed to be coming out in 2011. One thing is for sure, as soon as the toy line for Prime comes out, I am getting me a model of Starscream. Them legs people! THEM LEGS! (and those dominatrix hooker heels).

Seriously, have no idea why the humans are in there besides to totally annoy Ratchet.
Just saying.

Raf? No excuse for his inclusion. Miko? She is playing to the punk culture, trying to take a different angle on the feminine role for girls. Personally, I like that there is some variety in female roles for a change instead of the stereotypical "girl that is very smart and always picks up with the idiot boys lack." As for Jack, I hold that he is an actual believable character. He doesn't want any part of the danger, and is not anything other than concerned with the major robots.
I am still not sold on the facial modeling of the transformers in general, but it is livable. I still laugh at how the Rock joined in . . . for 8 minutes. After that his character was dead. Arcee is also a great role this time around. Being the feminine bot without being insistent on the empowered female. She is a fighter, and a good one. Her 'gender' is secondary to her personality. Bumblebee is also acceptable in his speech. Not quite Bayformer 'talking through the radio,' but close.
I also have to say, I am mildly approving of Soundwave. He has a personality by choosing how to handle things and what to say- but not totally his own voice since he repeats everything. Still, there is that tone to his voice that is typical 'Wave. I've heard a lot of complaints about Cullen's performance. That every statement he makes sounds like a sound byte or quote. Personally, I think he is doing alright. If anything, it was a boon to hear the old voices again. Megs has the right balance of evil and hoarseness, not full-on screaming, yet sounding like ol G1. Ratchet I am not sold on yet . . .
The show has not sold me to this point, but I will admit that I'll keep giving it tries. Zombies didn't sell me on it. Sorry. Still, the toys might be interesting . . .

the whole zombie thing didint really feel right not for starting of the show at least, i could have seen it as maybe a season ender but not a jumping point. bringing all the dead on cybertron to live kinda farfetched even for transformers.

It's actually from the game isn't it? The whole Dark Energon thing?

WfC did indeed revolve around Dark Energon, but in there it seemed to be an unstable and infectious version of power. In Prime, it is more of an anti-life substance to them- fills a living body with the ability to hear "Unicron's Thoughts" and a corpse with the ability to move, but not think.
As previously stated, this is like Bayformers Animated. Take established terms, and reapply liberally.

Wasn't around for the "previously stated" part, but I'm noticing the more I think about the show the more it irks me.

BogiePop Dark Energon was also in exodus but its was the end game kinda thing Dark Energon is odd... it came from Unicron and Exodus is sort of before Unicron attacked Cybertron so I don't really understand how it came about unless I misinterpreted their plot. In Prime it made more sense.
