Kaoru quickly pulled Dae-hyun into his small home before shutting the door behind, murmuring a quick "It's okay". He listened intently on every word Dae-hyun had to say. When Dae-hyun apologized, Kaoru quickly murmured, "It's fine…" He sighed at the mention of his own work. "Eh… I'm glad I don't have to face these people… They're sometimes just so... So stupid, its not funny! How hard is it to push a few buttons?" Kaoru pursed his lips in slight annoyance, crossing his arms. "Other than.. Stupid people, it was fine. A slow day today, thankfully. " Kaoru never was the best at holding a proper conversation, but he was trying his best. He still would rather listen to the soothing voice of his soon-to-be lover than his own, however. Kaoru, though, thought to himself before adding a extra piece of information.

"If.. If it wasn't for my accident… I'd be able to chose to not work with people; I could just be an operator and send them to the tech help and such… But I was told I have to deal with people." The man's voice held a solemn tone, unsure if he should have shared that with Dae , at all. "I don't mean to be so depressing…" He apologized, rubbing his arm. His fingers slid down the welts that littered his discoloured arm underneath the bandaging. As if on cue, he heard Dae-hyun as him about his arm.

"My arm feels so much better, now… Still a little sore. As long as I don't fall on it like earlier, it should be fine," The young man mumbled in an embarrassed tone.

Looking up, Kaoru chewed on his lip piercing as Dae-hyun rambled about something. Trying to get the just of what he was trying to say, Kaoru tilted his head. "So… I look.. Good?" He asked, smiling a little. "Hm.. Same with tattoos… But promise me, don't ever get a.. 'tramp stamp'. At the least nothing with rays because it'll just look like a tentacle monster when you get older." He commented, hoping Dae-hyun will take the joke.

The mention of food made Kaoru beam a little. He hadn't eaten in what, two days? Usually the man would just ignore it or forget, never meaning to just not eat. "Chinese sounds great! I love chow mein and stir-fry." Kaoru was a little surprised to be asked if he was a vegetarian, it wasn't something he was ever asked. Then again, he's lived at least half his life anti-socially. "No, I'm not vegetarian.. But I don't mind vegetables or fruits. But I refuse to eat sweet peas! I pick them out of everything." He mentioned, stubbornly.

Kaoru secretly wondered how many others Dae-hyun knew that were as he described. Being in a band, he was sure Dae had gotten around. "I… I've been told I was scary, but.. I'm usually scared of everything else around me…" Kaoru replied. He ran his fingers through a few strands of hair to his side, suddenly feeling shy. "Spiders, dark, cars.. Stupid little little things..." He shivered and bit his lips. "Clowns…!" He added wrathfully. "God, they're… they're just... So. Damn. Happy!" Sighing, Kaoru crossed his arms. Changing the subject back to food, Kaoru said, "Uhm.. Chinese... Do you want me to order for us? I don't mind." He'll wait until after their meal together to carry out his plot.

+Where's the door again...?+

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Noticing Kaoru was even more nervous and agitated than usual, Dae hyun wondered if it was still a good time to hang out. He hated being around people in a bad mood, and having seen how bad Kaoru could get on a normal day, he began weighing his options. Unfortunately, he was equally afraid of being alone with this guy and leaving him alone. Resigning himself to the company, he gave a forced smile and said, "I know what you mean. Being a manager, I have to personally deal with those kinds of customers every day, even though we train all of the employees to handle complaints themselves."

Hearing Kaoru's complaint, Dae hyun couldn't be sure which accident he was referring to, but felt it best not to ask. Instead, he thought deeply for a moment. Crossing his arms, closing his eyes, and furrowing his brow for a moment, he said, "While I understand where they're coming from in trying to help you, I don't think forcing you to interact so impersonally with people you don't know or even like will help much. It seems like that would just make things worse." Glancing at his host, Dae hyun said, "Ah, sorry. Was that too much? I didn't mean to get nosy."

Smiling with genuine gentility, Dae hyun couldn't help but soften up a little when Kaoru apologized for being a downer. "Hey, don't worry about it, okay? Unlike a lot of people, you don't complain without a reason. I'm just happy you feel comfortable enough with me to talk about that kind of stuff. It's...a nice complement." Realizing that something like that probably sounded strange coming from a guy, Dae hyun scratched the back of his neck uncomfortably.

Snapping his attention back to Kaoru, Dae hyun repeated, "You fell down earlier?" wanting to believe him completely yet unable to quell his doubt. Maybe he'd just heard that excuse one too many times before, but it made him even more worried about Kaoru's health. "I hope it wasn't too serious...maybe you should take it easy until it's completely healed?" he suggested, hoping he wasn't getting nosy again.

"It's fine, I've got the number right here." Remembering what Kaoru had said as he dialed the take-out number on his phone, Dae hyun commented, "Well, everyone has some things they don't like. I won't eat cooked carrots, for instance." With a shrug, Dae hyun turned away sightly when the restaurant picked up. Placing their order for delivery, he checked briefly with Kaoru for the right house number. Once that was done, he dropped the phone back into his pocket and said, "It shouldn't take too long. The store's close and they didn't sound very busy." With his hectic lifestyle, Dae hyun had gotten good at estimating take-out delivery times.

"Well, none of those are unreasonable," Dae hyun said, hoping it would make Kaoru feel better about himself. "There are things like the brown recluse spider that are really dangerous, and anything can happen in the dark, you know?" he asked, remembering all the street lights around the neighborhood. "Thousands of people die in car crashes every day...and after watching a documentary on John Wayne Gacy Jr., I could never look at clowns the same way again. So all those make more sense than people who are afraid of long words or something harmless like that. Me personally, I'm afraid of big dogs. Anything taller than a beagle freaks me out." Pausing for a moment of consideration, he added, "I got bit by a real nasty German shepherd when I was a kid. Maybe that's why I like snakes so much. Their nice and short when they're lying down."

            (( Its okay, I have it too ;.; So short T.T ))

Kaoru smiled happily when Dae took his intimacy as a compliment. This man was getting to be more and more magnificient to him by the second. Although, his smile was short-lived. Yes, being forced to work with people like he was didn't seem like the best idea. He was already incredibly sensitive to certain things through his head trauma. But if that car hadn't hit him so long ago, Kaoru would never have stayed in the small town and would have never met the beautiful creature now. "Its okay. I think you're right... It just makes me so... Aggitated, I guess, being forced to work with people..." Shrugging casually, he noticed his lover-to-be's concern.

"I-I'm just a klutz, is all! I always fall and stuff... But thanks for bandaging it the other day." Kaoru didn't want Dae to feel so closed. "I don't think you're nosy at all." Fingers twitching, Kaoru chewed on his lip ring as Dae-hyun called the restaraunt. He looked to his door, excited already. Ignoring the factor of take-out, he turned to Dae-hyun just as he explained his own fears. The thought of car crashes just made the young man fidgit. "Eh... I never was much of a pet person, let alone dogs." Taking his mind off all these fears, he turned back to his room.

"I found a swallowtail butterfly earlier!" Kaoru exclaimed, taking Dae-hyun's hand. "I still have it in the jar, come look!" Kaoru tugged at Dae's hand, before taking off onto his room. "Shut the door behind you, please?" he called. He took the jar, holding it dearly, waiting for Dae to cone along. Checking the drawer again, he buried the key deeper.

Everything coming in place, he couldn't wait! He wanted to keep the young man all to himself. He will have him in any way possible.

+Where's the door again...?+

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

"Yeah, I guess some people are just like that. I don't particularly like having to deal with stupid people at work, but...if I didn't have anyone to interact with at all, I think I'd go crazy," Dae hyun said, seriously considering what it might be like if he had to live that way himself. "I guess it's just a matter of personal preference." Scratching the back of his neck, he tried to push it out of his mind for the moment, prefering to keep his attention on Kaoru. After all, that was the whole reason he was there, to keep the man company.

Seeing Kaoru try to convince him, Dae hyun just sighed. Who was he to suggest different if Kaoru was telling him something about himself? They hadn't known each other for very long, and Dae hyun hated himself for not trusting people more. "It's fine. You can't really help it if it's just how you are. I just want you to be more careful is all. The last thing you need is to seriously hurt yourself while I'm not around. Speaking of which, if I ever call, be sure to answer, okay? I'll worry if you don't." Although he was about to appologize again for being intrusive, it didn't seem to bother Kaoru, so he let it drop. Something didn't seem right to him, but again he tried to convince himself to stop being so suspicious. It wasn't as though Kaoru had purposefully done anything to hurt him yet, so it seemed stupid to worry so much.

Surprised by Kaoru's sudden burst of energy, Dae hyun had to force himself not to pull back instinctively. He didn't want to give Kaoru the wrong idea by pulling away, but he was so used to getting tugged at that it had become second nature. "Oh, really?" he asked with slight hesitation, not really knowing much about butterflies himself. However, from Kaoru's excitement, he could only assume swallowtails were either rare or gorgeous, both of which made him curious. Having worked with animals for so long, Dae hyun could never pass up a chance to see one he'd never encountered before.

Glancing at the room's door dubiously, Dae hyun said, "Ah...so it won't get out?" trying to figure out why they would need the door closed. With his hand clasped around the handle, Dae hyun stood still for a moment. While he wanted to trust Kaoru and hated the thought of insulting him by showing his distrust, there was still something in the back of his mind screaming at him not to close that door. Still, he sighed and closed it before turning back around to face Kaoru. Walking over, he looked into the jar the other man was holding, looking the butterfly over completely. "Oh, wow. I think I've seen these around here before, but never this close-up. It's actually really pretty." Able to see all of the tiny scales covering the bug's wings, he asked, "These things are really fragile, right? It must be hard not to damage their wings when you handle them."

((That's okay. For moments of intense action or emotion, it can sometimes be better because it allows for focusing on more reactionary details and keeping a good, quick flow going. It can also help make things feel choppy and disjointed when you're going for a feeling of confusion from the characters' perspectives.))

Kaoru smiled, holding the jar containing the yellow insect. He looked to Dae-hyun, watching him, examining his expressions. He smiled, grinned more or less. Slowly unscrewing the jar, he thought there needed to be just a little more distraction. Everything then suddenly felt slow. The man's heart pounded incredibly hard; how could the other not hear it? He licked his lips as his dark eyes peered to Dae, the butterfly fluttering out from the glass to crawl on the rim. Sweat accumilated on his hands and the hair on his neck prickled. In a terrible, wonderful way. Carefully, Kaoru set the jar down, the butterfly disrupt and fluttered chaotically about. Kaoru took his chance. The build of adrenaline was too much. With one ragged breath, he slammed his hand against the door, beside Dae-hyun.

The height difference barely phased Kaoru as his free hand tightly wringed Dae-hyun's neck. He stood on his toes, his face so incredibly close to Dae's. He hesitated before slipping his first hand around the gorgeous man's neck, savouring a long second before gently applying a kiss to those lips. A small touch, with hardly any pressure. He loosened his grip around that soft-skinned neck, moving his hands up. He savoured the soft skin, every conture, those cheekbones, pierced ears he gently rubbed, and that hair... Kaoru could easilly get himself off from just the feel of all this, let alone...

Kaoru let watchful eyes stare into those beautiful orbs. He controlled his breathing, stepping back, prying his eyes away from the godly entity. How he came to worship this living Eros... He glance to the side before lunging at Dae-hyun, shoving him harshly, aiming at the floor. He scrambled to take one of the neckerchieves he had, attempting to take a grasp at that lovely neck again. This beautiful specimen will not escape him!

+Where's the door again...?+

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Watching as Kaoru opened the jar, Dae hyun was certain they had closed the door to keep it in the room. Watching it flutter around free was even more beautiful than seeing it trapped in the jar, and it made him smile to know it was having another moment of freedom. "I can see why you love these things so much...they're really pretty. Almost hypnotic, huh?" he asked before looking back to his host. Just as he was about to continue, Dae hyun felt himself forced back against the door, hitting his head and knocking the wind out of him.

Eyes full of anger, confusion, and fear, he glared at Kaoru who was now only inches from his face, prepared to scream at him until he backed off. Before he could make another sound, however, he felt a hand around his neck, and his knees began to feel weak. Choking yet trying to control his breathing, Dae hyun reached up to pull Kaoru's hands away with little luck. Although the man was shorter than him by a noticable bit, he had a powerful grip. The kiss only adding insult to injury, Dae hyun cursed himself for letting down his gaurd when he'd known things could get dangerous. Up to then he had been too kind to Kaoru, and this was what he got.

Forced to the floor, Dae hyun once again felt all of the air rush out of his lungs, and laid motionless for a moment, dazed by the impact. Finally coming around a bit, he noticed Kaoru's momentary distraction and shoved him as hard as he could, pushing the man off balance and scrambling out from underneath him. Trying the door briefly, he cursed as he remembered it was locked and ran to the other side of the room. Prying at the window, it only took him a moment to find the latch. Glancing over his shoulder frantically, Dae hyun swung himself out and into the bushes as quickly as possible.

Without thinking, he dashed across the street like a wild animal and slammed into the front door of his own house, digging through his pockets to find his keys. Finally getting the door open, he closed and locked it behind him, sliding to the floor out of exaustion. Sitting there for a few moments catching his breath, he tried to sort through what had just happened to him. Everything had seemed like it was going so well between the two of them, at least to Dae hyun. When he remember how Kaoru had kissed him, though, he couldn't help but wipe his lips in distaste. Something disgusting had overcome Kaoru, and Dae hyun was only sorry he'd let himself get dragged that far in before realizing it.

Trying to plan his next step, he stood up shakily and wandered over to the couch, where he collapsed on the soft cushions and took a moment to think. Calling the police wasn't likely to do any good. He and Kaoru were way outside the kind of demographic law enforcement really cared about, and he didn't want to get too involved with any cops. Although he'd never been arrested, he'd learned to avoid law enforcement early on when he'd realized how prejudiced they were. Groaning, he realized there was really only one other person he could think of calling. Even in a moment of crisis like this, he didn't want to damage his image in front of his band mates or friends, but it wouldn't matter to someone who already disliked him.

Pulling his phone out of his pocket tiredly, he hit the speed dial and listened through what seemed like hundreds of rings before it went to voice mail. Frustrated, he hung up and dialed again. Trying the same number four more times before he got a response, the last thing he needed was the irretated "What!?" from the other end of the line. Taking a deep breath, Dae hyun composed himself before saying, "Would you...mind staying over tonight?" When nothing but silence answered him, he quickly began to add, "Something happened and I don't think I'm safe alone. You're the only one I could call, so..." His voice trailed off a he began to wonder whether or not someone was actually still listening.

After a few seconds of bitter silence, however, there was a quiet, "Yeah, okay. I'll be over quick," before the click of the call ending. Sighing with relief and setting his phone down on the coffee table, Dae hyun looked at the white flower finally unfolding its petals. With a grimace, he took it into the kitchen and dumped the water out in the sink before tossing the blossom into the trashcan, not wanting to be reminded of what had just happened. Glancing at the clock every minute, Dae hyun began to feel nervous as he wondered what might happen if Kaoru got there first.

((Not too satisfied with this post... But meh >> ))

Kaoru felt his mind a blur as he was suddey shoved over. He tried to cling to the man, but in vain he had to let him go. Kaoru was about to go out the window himsel, he might have even caught up, but his fears took over. He stared out the window before slamming it shut. How dare he leave?! The man he endeared so much left him! Full of hurt and rage, Kaoru let out a terrified scream, banging on his own window. He screamed until he couldn't distinguish any other sound, until his throat became raw, and screamed still. With the incoherent sound of his cries, he held himself against the wall, sliding down to the floor. Coughing heavily, Kaoru began to take anything close at hand to throw. He felt tears burn his eyes, and a sound erupted in the air. He hadn't even realize the irritable sound was his own voice, again.

"I love you! Dae-hyun! I love you!" he screeched, slamming into the wall multiple times. He banged his fist agaist the cold façade, not caring of the sudden pain he felt, or the snapping of sensitive marrow in his hand. "Dae-hyun..." he choked pathetically, curling up in the floor. "Dont leave me alone..." he whispered, sniffling as he attempted to lift his aching body from the floor with barely any succession. Hiccupping uncontrolably, Kaoru wiped his eyes. He bolted to the door, but before wanting to kick it down he remembered Dae-hyun was the one who put it up. He searched for the key in the drawer and quickly unlocked the door, breaking the small piece of metal. He ran to his front door and quickly opened it. Whimpering as he stood stiff in one place, he took a deep breath before running towards the street. He stopped at the pavement, several times trying to just step unto it. Finally, the strange man ran back inside, and bolted across the street to the other side.

Panting heavily, he wiped his tearful eyes before running up to the door. Knocking frantically, he leaned against it. Rapping his fingers gently, he spoke softly, or as softly as he could with his now raspy voice. "Dae-hyun... I love you... Please, don't leave me...Don't leave me again!!" Kaoru's voice wouldn't be able to take much more of his screaming. He backed away from the door, but flinched back into it as a truck passed by. Pressing against the house, he began to be more aware of his surroundings. Not only was he outside, he crossed the street away from his home! Fear replaced all his anger and fluster. He was terrified. He couldn't cross that road of death again! Kaoru's breathing quickened as he whined.

"Dae-hyun, Dae-hyun, Dae-hyun! Dae... Dae, I love you!" Now he only wanted to go home. What must the neighbours think of this scene? Kaoru wanted only to beg for this man's love, but if he was not given it, he would just take it from him. The man so nice to him, why did he now run away? Kaoru, in all honesty, had no idea.

+Where's the door again...?+

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

As he waited, Dae hyun paced the floor a bit, but soon dropped back onto the couch in exaustion. OUt of nowhere, he heard a piercing cry from across the street and jumped up. Even if he couldn't make out what Kaoru was saying, the sound he made was enough to convince Dae hyun to pick up the phone again. This time, he forced himself to call the police, frightened of what would happen not only to him, but also to Kaoru. Almost laughing at himself for still caring about the guy, he explained to the police in a panic that there had been a domestic disturbance, that there was screaming and banging, and that he was afraid for his life. As he gave the cops his address, he heard a soft rapping at the front door. Freezing, he wondered who could be knocking when he suddenly heard Kaoru's voice again.

"s**t..." he whispered, barely keeping the phone in his shaking hand and staring at the door. A question from the phone snapped him back to reality. "He followed me here. The guy, he's at my door." The officer told him to keep the doors and windows locked and not to let anyone inside until they had arrived. Once the line had hung up, Dae hyun stuffed the phone back into one of his pockets and walked into the kitchen. In all his life, he'd never wanted to have a gun in the house, even if it would only be used for protection. So instead, he grabbed the largest kitchen knife he had and stood by the sink, heart racing. Listening to Kaoru's pathetic whimpers, he closed his eyes tightly and tried to block out the sound of the man's voice.

Just as he was about to hide upstairs, Dae hyun heard a car pull into his driveway and froze again. "Oh no, no, no, no..." he whispered as he pulled out his phone again frantically. Speed dialing, he hoped he would get an answer before the two met outside his house. When the phone picked up, he immediately heard, "Who's this weirdo at your door?" Still holding his breath, Dae hyun asked, "Are you still in the car? Doors locked." After a pause, the answer was yes, and Dae hyun could feel himself begin to breathe again. "Stay in the car. I'm really sorry, I didn't think he would acutally follow me outside. Do you have anything to protect yourself?" A scoff and a bit of rustling from the other side answered his question. "The cops are coming, just don't let them see you with it," he warned, hoping that reinforcements would be there soon.

In no time, there was a car outside the house, lights flashing and siren dying down. Looking out one of the second-story windows, Dae hyun saw two cops step out, one pointing his gun at Kaoru, the other at the car in the driveway. "Freeze!" was all he heard before he rushed down the stairs, carefully putting the kitchen knife back where it belonged, and stepping out through the garage with his hands up, wanting to explain the situation. By then the officer had already spoken to the woman from the car and was writing something down on a pad of paper. "Officer," Dae hyun said, putting his hands down and making brief eye contact with the girl. After giving a few brief details, he glanced over to see what had happened to Kaoru in the mean time.

((That's okay, kinda works out for meh ;D))

Kaoru heard another car coming and tried to back away, crawling from the door. He was so worried now. All sounds began to meld and before he knew it he tried to bang of Dae's door. "Dae-hyun!" he screamed, his voice starting to fail him. He scratched at the door, especially at the sudden sirens that seemed to close in. The flashing lights, the sudden noises, new cars and voices and people, it was driving him insane! Kaoru panicked, scrambling to pry open the door, splintering his fingers. He screamed loudly once more before seeing those metallic barrels pointing at him, being yelled at by the pair of strangers. His eyes widened and his heart raced; frightened beyond all limits, Kaoru couldn't take this anymore. He lept from the stairway, wanting to just hide away. He ran into the street, hearing one loud shot. Before he knew it, he was thrown the pavement from an incredible force to his side, his head slamming into the black ground. Not a sound emitted from him.

Kaoru was incredibly dazed, his skull in pain. Otherwise, he couldn't feel a thing. Everything was blurry, but moving so quickly. He heard his own heartbeat on top of all other muffled sounds. Something warm surrounded the side of his face. He saw partly red, then. A pair of shoes came close and he felt a set of hands carefully move him. This was so familiar... All of it. He couldn't move, but he was aware. Just barely. After that... He had to shut down.

Opening his eyes, Kaoru was blinded in white. A few phones rang in the background, kind voices, strange voices aswell. He was breathing such stale air. Coming into focus, he knew where he was. He only closed his eyes. It wasn't the same; that sparkly butterfly on that girl's shirt wasn't here to save him this time. He supposed he'd never see that beautiful young man again. To be honest, he doubted such existance of that gorgeous Dae-hyun. He knew medication could have very well made him dream it all. Right? Annoying machines... Annoying oxygen... Annoying tubes... His throat was incredibly sore. His head still hurt.

+Where's the door again...?+

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

The next morning, when Dae hyun finally woke up, he rolled over and stared at the clock for a minute, trying to figure out why it was so late in the day already. Sitting up in bed, he breathed in deeply and scratched his head, feeling a sore spot in the back. Looking over, he saw the grey-haired girl getting dressed. "Hey, why didn't my alarm go off? I'm late for work," he asked with a yawn, although he was in no hurry to get up.

Jumping slightly, the girl relaxed when she saw Dae hyun was awake. "I called into work for you and explained how you needed the day off. You'd better not complain, it was a pain trying to convince them." As she took off the shirt and sweat pants she had borrowed to sleep in, she continued, "You were so tired last night, you fell asleep on the couch. I moved you up here, you know. So you should take the day off." Although it seemed like she wanted to say more, she turned her back on him and started putting on the clothes she had worn there the day before.

Finally getting himself out of bed, Dae hyun thought about Kaoru. Despite what he had done, Dae hyun still worried about him for some reason. If nothing else, he was his neighbor. However, Dea hyun couldn't shake the feeling that forgiving him woudl just be asking fore more trouble. "So, did you want to go somewhere for breakfast? Or do you want to wait for dinner?" he asked, going through his closet and pulling out a decent outfit for the day. The two chatted for a while as they dressed before going downstairs for old ceral, toast, coffee, and anything else they felt like. Still, every now and then Kaoru snuck back into Dae hyun's mind, and he had to wonder where he had been taken.

Kaoru Masako

((For now; he'll probably be moved when he 'recovers'))

Kaoru stirred,  groaning as he felt fully awake. He tried taking a deep breath, but that stale air just made him cough, by which made his head hurt worse. The chain reaction even made his throat burn. A nurse came in, greeting him warmly, lightly touching his hand, shoulder, and finally his head. The first two for comfort but the last to test swelling. Kaoru crigned, whimpering and tried to bat her hand away. His arm was bound, the one he hurt. He breathed irregularly, looking to the woman fearfully.

"Mr. Masaki," she began. Kaoru glared; his name was Masako! "You'll have to stay here until your head injury recovers. The police would like to have a word with you, if that's alright." Kaoru  didn't bother with answering her. "Can I have a butterfly?" The nurse tilted her head and nodded. "I'll get you a pin or something-" "No!" Kaoru growled. "A real one..."

"I'll see what I can do..." With that said, the nurse set a glass of water on a stand, leaving out of the glass. Kaoru saw he was alone, but saw familar, uniformed men speaking to the woman. A suited man beside them. He saw them coming in, which only made him nervous. He squirmed but the suited man put up his hands. "Hey, hey... We're not here to hurt you. Just want to get to know you..." he said, slowly approaching the weary, bedridden man. "My name is Eric Setti. I'm a psychologist." Kaoru said nothing, staring at the man. "I understand, Mr. Masako, you're fond of butterflies...?"
Kaoru nodded and knew the next question. "Why would that be?"
Sighing, Kaoru gave him a solemn look.

"I saw a butterfly when I woke up..." he whispered. The interrogation continued, and the man, Eric, wrote down many notes. Kaoru wanted to know what was going on. "From my expertise, Kaoru. Can I call you that? Well, Kaoru, it seems to me... You have something called Dependant Borderline-"
"Personality Disorder." Kaoru knew his flaw, but was told he was legally fine to stay on his own. "Due to your outburst, you're required a few months of therapy and aparantly this isn't your first strike. It's also required to send you into an insitution." Kaoru said nothing, only glared. He hated hospitals, but even more mental ones where they force you into cages, tight behavioral jackets, human muzzles, and forceful interactions. He felt welts of tears form in his eyes. "I love him..." He whispered. Eric sighed, shaking his head. He stood, patting Kaoru's shoulder, which made the man jump, and left. The officers followed and they spoke outside of the glass before parting. Kaoru sulked, sitting back as he stared at the light. Nothing, not even a Queen Alexandria or Tiger Swallowtail could be as beautiful as that man.

+Where's the door again...?+

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

For the next year, Dae hyun rarely ever saw Kaoru nad had no plans to reconnect with him. After what had happened, Dae hyun had heard of Kaoru being sent to an institution and then being placed under house arrest. Every now and then when he left to get groceries or to eat out, he would see Kaoru working in his garden and had to do his best to avoid eye contact. From what the police had told him, Kaoru couldn't approach him without his consent, and he took full advantage of that to keep the space between them wide. Every so often he might hear a shriek at night coming from Kaoru's home, and these outbursts wracked his nerves to the point of driving him mad as well.

Dae hyun had also been receiving gifts of flowers from Kaoru, but he never really kept them. It seemed like a shame every time he threw them away, knowing that the flowers had been cut only for him to enjoy them, yet he couldn't bring himself to leave something like that out in he open in his home. He had been continuing on with the rest of his life as if the incident between him an Kaoru had never even happened, failing to mention it to his friends or band mates. The woman who had been there that night still visited infrequently, usually after concerts. Once or twice she'd stayed over night, but never long enough to draw too much attention.

One day, just after getting home from work, Dae hyun sat on the couch with nothing but the sound of silence around him. It had been a while since he'd last spoken to Kaoru, not since that night. However, the shrieks he had been hearing had gotten less frequent, and it had actually been a good while since he'd last heard one. Getting up to look out the window, a pit formed in Dae hyun's heart as he stared at the house across the street. As the two sides of his brain commenced a tug-of-war, he stood motionless and dead-eyed.

Finally, he went outside and looked both ways down the street before crossing. Walking over to the other house, he stood at the door for a good minute, still tring to convince himself to decide one way or the other. With one last, deep breath, he knocked on the door and waited, looking around nervously and wondering what it would be like for them to speak after such a long time.

Kaoru Masako

...Within the мση†ħ of ₳prїℓ, Love is §мéℓℓїηġ §ωéé†ℓy...

Kairu knew well his actions were wrong, now. He was sent away to a different hospital where medication of sorts were fed to him. He never swallowed them all, and after a long time, he was able to finally go home. The trecherous place of white and drugs would finally be able to be left behind. Kaoru, however, was not as thrilled as he thought he would be. Without Dae, he... He just couldn't go on! Or so his mind told him so. In order to keep under check, he was still in house arrest, and had a therapist visit often to help with what the others dubbed a 'problem'. Kaoru did not object, he couldn't object. He didn't care, he only wanted to see that beautiful face. The woman told him it was all only a part of his dependancy, but he knew he loved that man. She would force him outside on certain days of crappy weather or sometimes try to get the guy into a car, let him turn on the engine. Slowly, Kaoru was becoming less. His emotions could be under control, his urges put to the test. He was able to keep still without fidgitting and awkward stiffness. It changed him, so dramatically...

He would go out to tend to his flowers, always finding the most beautiful and meaningful to send to his wonderful neighbour. He wondered if they were ever awknowledged. His butterfly obsession still continued; he held a sentimental connection to the insects but no longer was he allowed to keep real ones inside. He was given a necklace instead to compensate, but nothing could compare to the real one. Nothing could compare to even him. Kaoru, however, was beginning to let the thought of ever coming close to his beloved fade.

It was about a whole year already. No contact, no drugs, no butterflies... He changed so much. His hair had grown and was cut very normally, back to it's original dark colour. Most of his piercings had closed and he was given a set of glasses, not that he ever used them. He put away his makeup and most of his strange clothes, wearing nicer things. His therapist noticed his change of speech, much more formal and unbroken. In the back of his mind, he was still dependant borderline. That would never change.

That one day, a magical knock came to his door. Kaoru groaned, not wanting to see that woman so soon. Standing from his couch he moved to the door and turned the handle with ease, something he used to never be able to accomplish. Opening the door he looked up and who he saw was not expected. He stood, dumbfounded, staring at the alien before him. His fingers twitched but he tightened his hands to keep them from doing so further. His mouth was agape and his heart pounded like then. He had a strong urge to just jump to the man, squeeze the life out if him with whispered apologies and loving words- but of course he couldn't he stood his ground, taking a step back.

"Dae-hyun," he finally said. A loss of words took over; his therapist may have trained him to keep down in exciting occasions, but this... This was pure gala; enough happiness for a series if heart attacks to poor Kaoru. He remembered to breath, letting out a breath before touching his chest against his heart to still the rapid flutter.

"What... Are you doing here?" he asked with a slight tilt of his head. Without needing any answer he let a quiet whisper leave him. "I... I'm so sorry." 'Astounded' was an understatement. He tightly crossed his arms, hiding his fidgitty fingers. His body wanted to just leap at Dae-hyun, cling to him and a million times say 'i love you's and appologieButhelezi could scream, he could cry, he could run, he could hide, he could hug, he could hurt, attack, or love the person in front of him. He didn't; he couldn't. Not now, as his record was thus far in the clear. He fought it. And it was damn hard.

            "How are you...?"

+Where's the door again...?+

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

When the door finally opened, Dae hyun was surprised to see someone he didn't recognize. After only a few seconds, however, it hit him that he was looking at a reformed Kaoru. Not only did he look different, he seemed to be acting a bit different as well, which put him more at ease. Staring for a moment without anything to say, he finally tried to explain, "Well, it's been a while since...the last time I saw you." Scratching the back of his neck, he hoped he wouldn't hurt the man's feelings by bringing that night up right away. "Umm...I'd just...I've seen you out in the garden every now and then, but I guess I never got a good look at you. You look like you've changed a lot," he said, looking over Kaoru once more. Now that he was a little more subdued, something about him seemed almost cute. Perhaps it was the feeling that he was now more exposed to the world's eyes, but Dae hyun couldn't help but feel completely different about the guy. It was much easier on the eyes.

"I guess I just wanted to see how you were doing after all this time," he said in a slight daze, not really thinking about what he was saying. Kaoru's new look was even more distracting than his old one, at least to Dae hyun. When he heard a soft apology, he shifted his weight uneasily, not sure what to say. "It's...it's in the past now," he settled on, not wanting to minimize the importance of the memory yet not wanting to put Kaoru on a guilt trip. If he had found the strength to change like that, he obviously felt guilty about what had happened, and he seemed much calmer now. "Ah, I've been busy with work, you know?" he said with an uncomfortable smile, trying to think of what to talk about. "I've still been performing at concerts and working at the clothing shop as usual, so...things have been pretty much the same for me as they always have. The band's been getting a little more popular lately, though, so I'm thinking we might actually be going somewhere."

"...How are you?" he asked after an uncomfortable pause, not wanting to be rude. After all, Kaoru must have also gone through a lot in the mean time. Although no one had been willing to speak to him much about it after the incident, Dae hyun knew Kaoru had gone for therapy rather than being put in prison, which was probably just as well. When he thought about the way the man used to act and how he seemed now, it was as though he had been completely re-socialized and properly outfitted for a normal life. "Are you still working with the customer service?" he asked, remembering Kaoru's complaints about the people he had to deal with in his job. It was hard for him to believe that a year had already passed without them really seeing each other. While he knew Kaoru had sent all of those flowers, it didn't give him the same sense of anxiety when he looked at the man before him and realized how domesticated he had become. Or at least, that's how he looked. Dae hyun cautioned himself mentally not to take anything at face value, and he had to wonder if Kaoru had changed as much on the inside as he had on the outside.
