"You sure?" he questioned glancing to his own legs. "I was never that short. I'm pretty sure they're just stubby." The king flicked his tail before resting it upon his hat, the added weight would asure that Shari's attempts to make it topple from his head failed.
"You have a point with the hiding comment though...What if it's in an open area?"

Shari grumbled and rolled her eyes. "Yes, I'm sure." She stuck her tongue out at Willy, and grinned slightly. "Are you sure you weren't just really tall when you were a cub?" She replied smugly, trying even moreso to bat the hat off of his head now that his tail was there.
She blinked, and shrugged. "Then you crouch down really... reeeally low. Like this." She dropped to her stomach and tensed her legs. "And then when whatever it is is close enough, you... pounce!" When she said pounce, her hindlegs pushed her forward, and she pounced Willy, giggling. "See!"

The king gave Shari's response some thought, tliting his head upwards slightly. "I do belive I might have been. Then again I was never a short." He gave a nod, making sure to keep his tail placed hevily upon his black, red and deep blue top hat.
Blue orbs watched the red cub lower onto her stomach, soon leaping up and pouncing. Willy rolled over onto his side, making it seem as though Shari had pushed him over with her powerful pounce. "Oh." the king laughed, his hat toppling off his head and rolling about on the ground. He'd place it back upon his head afterwards. "Quite a strong cub I see. Then you'd have no problem taking down a wilderbeast or any other prey animal." Why exactly the king was being so nice to the cub couldn't be sure. For all Willy knew was that he wasn't very fond of cubs, yet he had his moments where he was overly nice about it.

She rolled her eyes and grumbled. "Just 'cause I'm short doesn't mean you weren't once upon a time ago. I mean, you couldn't've always been that big, could'cha?" She eyed the lion suspiciously, frowning curiously.
She grinned triumphantly at the compliment. Even if he was pulling her leg, it brushed her pride very nicely. She seemed to lift completely at the comment, and grinned. "Of course I can. If it's as big as me, anyway." She made a face. "Otherwise it might squish me. Bein' I'm stubby an' all." Shari gave him a pointed look, but couldn't quite get rid of the cheeky grin on her face.

"I was never as short as you." the king spoke quite childlike. This height conversation seemed to be getting no where, like an evenly matched tug-of-war game. "I always wore a hat." he gave a nod, rolling over onto his back before rolling over onto his other side. Pressing down upon the earth, he pushed himself up off the ground and gave his pelt a shake. His maroon jacket still covered in bits of dirt. He'd have to get to that later.
Flicking his tail under his hat which still remained upon the ground, he tossed it up in the air. Moving his head so that the top hat would land upon it perfectly. "Don't let those complements get to your head Stubby."

"Pfff." She stuck her tongue out and grinned, shaking her head. "Well fine then. You were tall 'cause you wore a hat." She nodded. "But what if someone stole your hat? Then where would you be?" Shari tried to swipe the hat again, grinning.
"Shari. Shar-ee. Say it with me now. Shar-eeeee." She stuck her tongue out. "Not Stubby. I'm not stubby." Shari grumbled and eyed her legs absently. "I'm just young." She smirked at him. "And I don't have a hat, so I can't be tall like you."

Tall because of his hat? Perhaps that was why, but why on earth would be agree to that fact? No, that wouldn't be any fun at all. Instead of coming up with another remake the king kept his mouth shut about the subject, not that he couldn't come up with a remark...Just that he didn't want to.
Lifting a purple paw he placed it gently upon the cub's head, temped to say that she couldn't get to his hat now if she tried.
Stubby? Did he call her that? Willy never was good with names, or he simply didn't quite care. "Shari." he smiled warmly, before wrapping his tail around his hind leg. "That's a shame. A hat would look good on you."

Shari grinned at the King, and tried to wiggle out from under the purple paw. "Gah!" She grumbled and tried to move away from him, shaking her head in an attempt to get the paw off her. "Leggo!" She giggled quietly and shook her head again.
The red cub looked up at him and grinned. "I think I would, too. But I don't got a hat, sooo." She wiggled. "I just hafta make due." She nodded sagely, and then shook her head again, grinning.

The king couldn't help, but laugh. It was amusing watching Shari attempting to break free from his large purple paw. "You're going to mess up your hair that if you keep that up." he spoke with a grin upon his maw. If she had a hat of her own however, well then there wouldn't be a problem with messy hair.
"I'd lend you my hat, but it's much to large." he paused, perhaps he shouldn't have said that. "And I'm still using it of course."

Shari giggled at the king's laugh, and wiggled still, grinning up at him childishly. "Your paw's gonna crush me!" She tried to wiggle free, giggling. Then Shari blinked curiously, and grumbled, sitting still. "You're gonna crush me with your big ol' paw." She pouted at him.
She blinked curiously, and frowned, eying the hat. "Where'd you get your hat, anyhow? 'Cause maybe I could get one too." She nodded sagely. Stealing his was out of the question with a giant paw on her head, so she'd have to find one of her own... Maybe.

Willy smiled gently lifting his paw from the cub's head. "I doubt my paw could crush you, even if you are stubby." His ears flicked, rotating backwards causing the flakes that sprouted from them to dance. Get her own hat? Oh no, not ever. Not when he was the only one with a beautiful hat. "What was that?" he questioned. "I think you're mumbling."

She grumbled and stuck her tongue out at him again. "I'm not stubby." She replied simply, rolling her gold eyes at him. "Don't be mean." Shari grinned at Willy anyway. Then she stuck her tongue out, "I wasn't mumbling." She replied simply, stretching slightly and trying to glance around. "Where're we goin' anyway?"

"You just keep telling yourself that." Willy laughed. Did he always tease cubs? Oh yes, that's right he did. "I'm not being mean," the male snorted "I'm simply preparing you for the world." Not that ever lion the cub would come across would be rude, but you never know.
He paused giving thought to her comment about mumbling. She wasn't? Was she sure? He could have sworn she had been. "No I really think you were." he spoke with a sage like nod. "Where are we going?" he repeated. "Do the densite, of course." he needed some rest and back there he could just let the females handle all of Shari's questions.

Shari nodded slightly, and made a face. "The world's not all that bad." She replied simply, shrugging with both shoulders and looking up at him with a coy smirk. "I think you just like to be mean to cubbies until they're big enough to pounce ya." She nodded sagely.
".... Pfff." Shari rolled her eyes at Willy, then grinned. "Then let's go to the densite." She wiggled and grinned at him, before looking around again. "Where is the densite, anyhow?"

"You've oviously never been to the woods..." he muttered unter his breth. Soon the male gave Shari a shocked look. "Me? Be mean to cubs? No never." he chuckled, flicking his tail back and forth. Now what would be the reason for that? Oh right, most of them were spoiled. Hard to find a good kid anymore. So far Shari seemed good enough...For a kid.
Willy lifted a large purple paw, poiting it to the north. "The densite is just north from here. It's right by a large dead tree." He paused, that didn't sound to appealing, did it? "Dispite the fact that the tree is dead, it does provide some nice shelter. Roots stick out of the ground and underneath it has been hollowed out. Nice place really." There that sounded much better then some old dead tree. "Not to far from it is a stream."
