Nanaki listened to Yury and he could tell by her tone as well as her body language that she was feeling guilty over his injuries. He gently nudged her cheek with his nose. "Stop fussing over me, I've had far worse injuries before. Can't you tell?" he chuckled then and motioned to his missing eye with a paw. "Besides, I would've found some other way to get hurt if it wasn't by protecting you, I always manage to find some sort of trouble." he smiled at her and hoped that he could alleviate some of her worry and guilt by showing her that he really didn't care that he was hurt.
"I do agree with you about the slower pace though, infected wounds will be hard to treat if there are no plants around to use as medicines."

Yury blushes a bit as he nuzzles her. "i know you been is worst i just don't want you to get hurt over me." she said as she looked down a little. " Well even if you got hurt from somewheres else i would still be here ti look after your wounds" She add with a smile and blush.
"Plants to use as medicines? What kind of plats are those? Is there any around?" Yury asked in a wonder as she looked around looking at all the plants.

Nanaki sighed and shook his head realizing that he was going to lose an argument with her if he started one anyway and so he just smiled at her "Thank you." was all he said before he continued searching the area around them.
"I haven't seen any that I recognize as medicinal... no. But I'm sure there will be some around this place somewhere... after all, they grow almost everywhere else, why not in a desert? Especially this close to water?" he slowly began walking, studying all the plants as he went. "Specifically I'm looking for Goldenrod. It's a taller plant... with yellow flowers." he mumbled as he looked, pink, blue, white... every color except yellow, wonderful.

Yury just trotted next to smiling, knowing she won this time. "Any time" She add as they walked in the night.
"Well i will be sure to keep my eyes open for them" She spoke as she looked around her. "It would help more if i was light out or if the moon wasn't covered by the clouds." she mumbled as she looked into the sky. "it looks like it's going to rain too." She stated as she quickly looked at Nanaki's tail "what will happen to your tail if it rains" she add in worry.

Nanaki pondered for a few minutes over what to tell her about his tail. He knew that she would probably start fussing even more but he didn't want to lie to her. Maybe... if he just told her the minimal answer? "If it's raining it may steam but it won't go out unless I get it completely submerged, that's why I look odd when I swim." he laughed then, trying to distract her from asking any deeper questions on the matter like, what happens if it does go out.
As they continued to walk though he scanned the flowers around them and sighed. Quite a few times he thought he had seen a yellow flower and upon closer inspection it was white. It was starting to look as if the goldenrod plant didn't grow in this area and he was becoming quite discouraged.
Then, just to make things worse, it started to rain, very lightly, but still, it was rain, and Nanaki glared up at the sky as if by raining it was offending him personally.

As is started to rain, Yury could see the steam raise from Nanaki's tail when ever rain fail upon it. "Nanaki does it hurt when the rain hits it?" She ask while look at his rain. Yury didn't mind the rain, in fact she enjoyed it. She loved to be in the water and around it but still she was worried about his flame. "What will happen if you flam goes to." She finally asked. Yury was worried about it but didn't want to ask for the longest time but when it started to rain she grew enough courage to.

Nanaki swished his tail from side to side, a sure sign of his irritation with the rain. When Yury spoke he looked at her out of the corner of his eye and grinned. "No, it doesn't hurt, it's just annoying." As they continued walking he prayed that she wouldn't ask the question he knew was coming after the last.
Ah, yes, there it was, the one question he hadn't wanted to answer, but he couldn't lie. Looking down at his paws, he couldn't look at her when he told her the answer, he could already see her reaction in his mind and he didn't think he would be able to handle seeing her beautiful face with that expression upon it. "If... if it ever goes out... I will get very ill, and perhaps even become unconcious... it has only ever happened twice so you have no need to worry about me, I'll be just fine." he forced as much reassurance into his words as he could and he hoped it would be enough.

"What!!!" she said a bit shaken up. Her eyes grew big as she pictured Nanaki laying in the rain unconscious and helpless. Worry is colored all over Yury's face but she couldn't help it. She slowly started to pace back and forth just thinking about it and even her paws started to shake. A tear ran down her face that was disguise by the rain but it's salty tasted still lingered.
She finally got to enough control of her voice to say "Maybe we should stop somewhere and wait for the rain to stop." She franticly started to look around for a barrow in higher grounds.Her ears where all the way down and getting drenched by the rain. She finally let out a whimper of defeat and worry.

Nanaki tried not to do it, he really did, but Yury was quickly getting hysterical and that was something he could not allow. Rounding on her he growled "Yury! Listen to me! What did I say about rain?" he hadn't wanted to sound so cruel but he thought it was probably the only way to get her to listen to him.
He sat down and watched her worried scampering and searching with what appeared to be half amusement and half concern. Why did females always overreact? Well... he couldn't say that, males overreacted too at times, but this was certainly not one of them. He continued to watch her and recognized a small spark of irritation within himself that he quickly put out. It wasn't her fault she was worried, everyone had treated him this way, if they got close enough to even care, and so there was no reason for him to treat her any differently that he had treated them. He would just let her worry run it's course and then continue moving.

When Nanaki yelled at her, Yury's eyes widen. She knew she started to become a bother to him and she hated herself for that. She slowly dropped her eyes and looked down at her paws. "Sorry" She mumbled. She then signed and looked up and started walking going a bit ahead if Nanaki. She made sure her face didn't show no painful, worry or sadden expression.
Yury didn't wont to become a bother to him anymore and decided just to keep all her worry and feelings locked up inside of her. Last thing she want to do was make him angry so she figured this would of been the best way to go about with it. As they walked he placed a smile on her face but inside she was still crying and filled with worry for Nanaki. Yury did find it odd though, she never cared this much over someone. Why only him?

Nanaki growled quietly when the little voice he thought he'd been rid of chimed in "You've upset her. Go make her feel better you fool, you're chasing her off!" Still grumbling he rose to his paws and moved after her quickly. "Yury, wait! I'm sorry! Please wait!" he called, he knew she wouldn't want him to see her, she was probably all sorts of upset and it would show in her eyes, but he had to get her to stop, something inside him didn't feel right when she was upset.
When he caught up to her and was walking beside her, even though he couldn't see her face, he began trying to apologize properly. "Yury, I'm very sorry, I didn't mean to snap at you. I just... it bothers me when people fuss over me, especially because of my tail, I've been getting fussed over my whole life and I left my home because of that, I was hoping to get away from all of that here." he paused, trying to see how well his apology was being recieved before he continued on.

"It is ok Nanaki, you have no reason to apologized. I am the one you shouldn't have over reacted." Yury spoke softly. Her head still hanged low along with her eyes. Tears where starting to well up in her eyes and she didn't want him to see it. Her ears did perk up though as they listen to every word he spoke.
"You know Nanaki, your luck you have family and friends that worry about you. I can understand that it can bother you but some Shakaiyo's don't have the luxury . Most live there whole lives by themselves with out anyone to care. And everyone fuss over it because they love and care about you. It just shows how much you truly are loved." she spoke and she looked over to him. One tear fell down along her check as she smiled at him.

Nanaki's eyes widened as he stared at her, he could smell it, the salt, she was going to cry, and it was his fault. Wonderful job Nanaki, some gentleman you are! he berated himself before nudging her cheek with his nose gently. "Please don't cry Yury. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings."''
As a teardrop struck his nose he flinched away as if stung, "I don't like being babied, I am capable of taking care of myself you know? It gets to be a bother when there is always someone trying to protect you from everything."
After that was said he began trying to think of ways to take her mind off of the current conversation, all it was doing was upsetting her and that wasn't what he wanted at all.

"Nanaki i am sorry, i didn't mean to over react. It's not everyday you meet someone with a flaming tail, you know? I do feel better now after the words have full sunken in. I didn't mean for my tears to trouble you either. And you don't have to worry about me over reacting about your tail anymore. It isn't like you can die from it , right?" Yury spoke to him. She walked next to him and nuzzled his check to reinforce everything she said was true and she was no longer worried.
"So how far are we going to go tonight" Yury asked trying to lighten the mood a bit from there gloomier one earlier.

Nanaki turned to smile reassuringly, though he wasn't entirely sure he was telling her the truth, that he couldn't die just from his flame going out, and nodded "I understand, I am sorry I overreacted, you didn't know that it bothered me so much when people acted that way over my tail. " as they travelled in comfortable silence once again he reflected on everything that had happened so far and he felt as though there was something guiding his actions that he could not see, nor feel, he just knew it was there, and outside force of some sort.
Yury's voice brought him out of his thoughts and he turned to look at her, grinning like a fool "Um... I'm sorry... what did you say? I was thinking about something." if he could have blushed, he would have, how embarrassing it was to be caught without any idea of what his companion had just said.
