Rounding the base of a low lying hill, Ren stumbled upon a grievous sight. The source of the weeping had not come from a distant farmhouse, but from a group of mourners gathered around an open grave. Ten or so surrounded the hole, the dead already lowered.

The cemetery hugged the curve of the road, only a small picket fence separating them. Grass trimmed and a mixed green, each grave marker was brushed clean and well tended if not a bit utilitarian. A white washed sign just a little further up the road dubbed the area,"Weeping Willows Memorial."

Trying to be as unobtrusive as possible, a figure with waist length skunk striped hair was leaning against the hip high picket fence. Facing the mourners, the figure watches the procession with crossed arms, a shovel propped to its side.

"How original," Ren muttered to herself referring to the name. Ren walked a little further down so she was still outside the cemetery. If she needed to she could get a clean get a away. For now Ren was a very distant cousin of on of the girls, if she had to that is. Ren walked up to the fence leaning on the other side of the fence. "Who passed away," she asked the boy with the striped hair. Ren though the hair was rather unusual herself as she asked the boy, but when she needed information she would do anything.

Ace looks at Skye giving a frown "Unfortunatly I cannot give you information on why this place is so dangerouse but don't worry I mean who would be stupid enough to attack the military especially a Brigadier General." ACe says laughing as he looks around for a newsppaper "Skye while I read the news for clues go find out where the church is located if you could please."

Without looking at who spoke, the boy tucked a strand of his hair behind an ear, his eyes fixated on the mourners. One woman collapsed at the lip of the grave, her hands flailing as she dropped flowers in and cried how she would always love her dear husband. A young man helped her to her feet and made sure she didn't teeter back. Each mourner took turns then, dropping flowers and murmuring farewells.

"Mr. James Rockwell. He passed on just yesterday of natural causes. Some say heart attack, while others think there was fowl play. No ones really knows cause the family is keeping it hush hush," he explained in a distantly monotone voice. Like a parrot repeating lines its heard many times. One eye turned slightly to catch a glimpse of the girl who spoke.

"You just passing through?" he asked turning his eye back to the people who cried and wailed incessantly. No expression of displeasure, or discomfort graced his relaxed frame. In fact, he looked rather board to be there. He even rose one foot to scratch his shin like he wasn't even aware of the anguish not ten yards away.

User Image"Oh that poor thing. His family sure does seem to be taking his loss hard." Ren said leaning on the fence. She faked the sadness in her voice terrifically. She barely picked up on the boy's boredness as she watch the people. When asked the question Ren didn't even have to take a second to think. "No my cousin passed away last week. She wanted to be buried by her mother. It seems I'm the fist one to arrive for the funeral though. Ren made her voice crack ever so slightly, and put on a face that said she didn't want to talk about it much for fear of breaking down again.

"He was a prominent figure in the town. A baker," he informed her as he watched the mourners slowly make their way up to a building that served for memorial services and grounds keeping.

"Ah," he said as if he just figured out something. Turning his face to look at the girl more directly, he smiled. It could have passed for sincere, if only the smile reached his eyes, but it wasn't so it didn't. His expression should have looked sympathetic, but somehow it didn't quite make it like he wasn't used to showing emotion with his face. His eyes, which lacked pigment, sparkled in the sunlight which made them appear golden.

"You must be related to Mary Graybell. Funny, you don't look related," he added with a single chuckle. "Then again if everyone looked like all their relatives, we wouldn't be able to tell each other apart." Normally, when people made jokes like this one they would laugh, sometimes nervously, at themselves and their own cleverness. The boy, however did nothing. He stayed silent and stared at the girl intently as if waiting for her reaction, his face staying neutral.

User ImageRen vaguely remembered the name from one of the name form one of the missing girls she had read up about. "Sadly there is no blood relation to us. Her aunt, my mother, adopted me because she could never have kids. Dear Mary loved me like a sister, but it seem time drew us apart. Alas though she is a better place with the angels I suppose." Ren wanted to laugh at herself, she really was getting better at this. But no as she spoke she looked at the ground, and barely made eye contact. No because she couldn't lie, but because then it would seem like a lie. She brought a hand up to her face to wipe away tear's that weren't there. Her hair block the view of her face as she waited a moment to 'calm down' before lifting her head again. "Excuse it was such a tragic loss you see."

Ren only had a few more minutes of this before she could ask the questions she wanted. If she didn't wait then her act would be for nothing. If she waited to long then she would loss her chance. She had chosen the bait, now she had the fish she had to be reel it in to fast or to slow and it would get away.

"If you say so," he replied in a monotone voice."Well then, if you're a day early, what brings you to the Weeping Willows?"

The last of the mourners had gone inside. A few minutes later a lone bell began to ring. It carried its sad message of passing to the town.

"'Bout time," he grumbled, pushing off the fence while grabbing his shovel.Taking the few steps over to the side of the grave, he swung his shovel around. With steady rhythm, he began to put dirt into the grave. His muscles bunched with each push of the shovel and his hair swung about him with each turn.

User ImageCrap. She hadn't expected that question, but she didn't let it break her. "Just looking around really. I came her once when I was younger thought I'd come back to see if anything had changed." Not a total lie after all some of her own family was buried in these parts. "So your the grave digger?" Ren asked hopping over the fence seeing it as some what safe. "So then I can assure that dear Mary will have a nice peaceful rest."

Ren was getting bored of this act, but she didn't falter."So how do you know my dear cousin. Did you know her personally or from work." Ren gave a weak smile at her own joke. Truthfully she was getting very bored, waiting wasn't her thing for what she wanted. Sure have the fun was playing the game. Ren's game how ever was beating the living daylights out of someone until she got what she wanted.

The boy continued his work at a quick pace, though no sweat beaded on his brow. He kept his eyes lowered so as to not give away his own amusement. Even from this distance he could tell she was lying, at least about her reason for being at the cemetery. He wondered silently how much else she was altering and assumed that all of it was equally false. By nature he was distrusting, so he wasn't alarmed to find neither was she, or care that she was putting on an act. Since he didn't care either way, he went on as he was, letting her play her game, but not buying any of it.

"That obvious, huh?" he replied when she questioned his occupation. Many would have stopped and smiled, looked embarrassed or even tried to take the chance to flirt, but he just kept filling the hole. However he wasn't completely without response, for he snorted at her comment about her cousin laying in peace. 'She hadn't died in peace,' he thought. 'Maybe in pieces.'

Stopping mid motion, he looked up at her then. A few crumbs of loose soil fell and bounced off his shoes. He made a quirk of a smile then. It seemed the girl had done something to peak his interest after all.

"You could say that," he purred, letting part of his face be shadowed by his hair. "Yes, something like that. I knew her personally and now I know her the way I know everyone."

Ren knew that tone oh so very well. It was the User Imagetone of voice she had heard on more then one occasion. The one that said loud, and clear get away NOW. So Ren smiled an idiot's smile, one that had not a care in the world. and hopped back over the fence. "Well Mr. Grave Digger I would love to ask you more about my dear cousin, but it seems I've kept you from your work, and I still have to check into my room for the evening. I will be seeing you soon though I suppose. Now you have a nice evening."

Ren let her facial expression's change as she spoke. The emotion's of despair when she talked about the funeral, then back to a mourner's fake happiness. Ren kept the same pace of walking as she headed back for the town. She kept the same facial expression. Nothing about her physical appearance, or mental changed. Her aura was kept in the same poker face it had been all along. Ren's mind screamed to break out in a full run, but she was acting as a farm girl in a way. Her cloths, and her personality told other wise.

User Image(did you just shiver? I know me too. He was way creepy in my last post, even to me. And I wrote it. >.<)

He watched her back away, like a mouse that stumbled upon a sleeping cat. Back away slowly and hope those eyes don't open. It made him want to snarl, just to see if she jumped. As it was, he looked at her with a slightly confused expression. Anyone who might look at their interactions might think the girl was odd, and sympathize with the boy. He was after all, only a simple gravedigger answering a few questions from a passersby. It wasn't his fault her grief was playing with her reality.

"Awe I scared the bunny away," he said when she disappeared around the bend, though no inflections made the whine incomplete. "She'll be back. Hopefully with that General." Then he smiled.

Of course he knew who she was, the timing couldn't have been more perfect. No one came to this place ahead of schedule unless they were really poking around. Only the state ever poked at times like these. Anyone else would have been too lost in their grief to accidentally find the cemetery, let alone come here on purpose. The living are uncomfortable being near the dead accept when saying farewell. Treachery snorted again, this time in irritation.

"Damn state dogs. Thinking their so clever." He finished the last few scoops of dirt, patting it down with the back of the shovel. Throwing his head and shoulders back, his hair flying all around, he stretched to relieve the tension between his shoulders. "But they'll have to do better."

User ImageRen had made it back to town with in minutes. Of course she had started running when she knew she was far enough away. Now safe in the inn's lobby she sunk into a sofa trying to replay everything. Every little detail making sure she had it perfectly. Ren wasn't a scared girl, she feared almost nothing. But when you have seen people kill in front of you. You know when to run for you life. 'Just shut up, and run.' How many time's had she heard that since she joined the military.

She had been looking for a meaning to her life, now she was just trying to keep herself alive. She had found the killer, he had her face, and she pounded her head with her hands. A stupid mistake, is what she had made. One she knew better than, her uncle had warned her. 'I need to listen to him better,' she told herself mentally. Taking a deep breath Ren let the ice fill her again. Yes ice kept the Flame Alchemist's nice very safe. He himself taught her not to play with fire, fire burned after all. Ice was forgiving to her, it calmed her, hide her emotion's and mostly kept her sane.

Treachery watched the people leave, his face devoid of emotion. He counted how many he had seen over the course of the last few weeks. Six had shown the last three, two four and one five times. Either he was picking off one persons' family, or his victims were more interconnected than he thought. Even though he had no hand in this one, it was interesting to note none the less.

Sitting at the gate, his shovel propped against his shoulder, he shook hands with the grounds keeper and the men who had been in charge of the service. Some even thanked him as they passed. They didn't know their thanks fell on indifferent ears, being blinded by their grief.

She frowned then. "When you tell me to not worry, it makes me think otherwise." And they're not supposed to know we're military; that's the whole point of this. We were attacked on the train, remember? So what difference does it make that we're military? Again, Skye kept her thoughts to herself, turning her heel and heading off through the town, in search of the church Ace apparently wanted for some reason. He'd better tell me what's going on here, and soon. Wandering through the town, she soon came to the outskirts and upon the cemetery. Taking a look, she noticed a church-like building within the fence, giving off the mournful sounds of the people inside. She also noted a familiar brunette chatting it up with a boy. Sighing, she leaned against a nearby tree, not daring to venture further. Sure, she wanted to give Ren a good piece of her mind, but from the looks of it, now wasn't a good time to do so.

Seeing Ren head back to the town, Skye decided she would follow after checking the place to see if it was indeed a church. Squaring her shoulders, she got off of the tree. Dusting her skirt, she began to make her way to the cemetery. Just need to take a closer look, then I can go back. She thought to herself, her face grimacing at the sight of the tombstones. Cemeteries had always given her the willies, and they still did to a certain extent. Trying to hide her discomfort, she stopped at the fence, trying to judge whether or not it was the place she'd been looking for. Glancing around, she saw the boy Ren had just been talking with. "Do you know if that's a church?" Skye asked him before she thought better of it, the words escaping her mind and thoughts.
