A soft giggle escaped her smiling lips. She still was embarrassed, but she was so inexperienced in the matter. Hell, she didn’t even consider she might be as special as all the girls he’d met before her. “You… y’know, I… no, really, I…” she stuttered. God, how old was she, 13? There she went, fiddling some more.
Quick, say something smarter than that. “L-let’s sit down now, shall we?” she asked, already walking towards the nearest table. She clearly hadn’t expected to be approached by someone the minute she walked in. Actually, her plans for the evening went more along the lines of “dancing, being a wallflower, dancing some more”.

-The place was a lot cheerier than she'd imagined, having come, like many expecting a bunch of mopey downers. And while she herself.. probably fit that description, most of the guests did not. The sound of cordial and friendly chatter was comforting and pleasant, the smells of food wafting from the kitchen delightful, and the movement and swirl of colorful attire dancing, walking, filling the room changed her force smile to something of an actual one.
Having gotten herself a drink from the bar, she sipped at it with ladylike precision before her eyes caught something. There were some figures she'd thought that looked loosely familar. People she must have seen around Crystal or just around town. But as she watched one boy retreat to the wall, she realized she knew exactly who he was. Marlo.
Pondering for the briefest moment, she made her way towards the wall, silk and lace swishing about her knees. When she was finally close enough her voice drew out softly, trying to grab his attention and.. not be too freaking awkward.- "Mmmm... It's been a very long time. Here without your brother?" -Probably a good thing actually. The other one had seemed more like the fire starter of the two.. even if this had tricked her momentarily with his teasings about Hillsworth.-

Waiters started moving up the stairs towards the fondue pots. It was time for those who were interested in the meal to start their way up the stairs for cheese, bread, and various fruits and vegetables that could be dipped in the plate.
The servers remained near the table after they had started the fondue so that they could explain anything to people who had never eaten it before.

"Much the same," Grayson admitted, enjoying himself with the dance; and it wasn't even in spite of himself. Imogen knew what she was doing as well, and he was reminded that while he didn't generally prefer couple's dancing, he still enjoyed it.
They finished out the number with a pleasant conversation, Grayson thanking her for the dance, and were just in time to see the waiters begin moving up the stairs. Never a man who would refuse food, and actually feeling a spark of his usual appetite, Grayson peered around for Elke. He didn't see her immediately, but who he did see was Ingacio.
Surprised, he strode over, one hand resting casually on his hip as he did. He hadn't been aware that Ignacio was going to the event too! If he had, he wouldn't have felt so awkward about it.
"Ignacio. Hey." He blinked, looked over his shoulder, and back to his friend. "It looks like they're getting ready for the food."
Though they hadn't spoken much recently, even Ignacio would be able to notice that Grayson seemed lighter, happier than he had when they'd passed one another in the house. Perhaps it really was as easy as simply distracting him.
For a time, anyway.

Azzo was looking around for a bit, a little too late didn't he notice Aurora. However, when he saw who she was headed over to he almost chuckled. So she knew Marlo to it seemed.
It wasn't till a few seconds later that he noticed Melody. His smiled faltered for a second before he swallowed the bad feeling again before walking over to her and gave a swift bow. "Melody." He said softly.
"I half expected that I'd be the late one. Grams took her sweet time getting ready for Bingo." He said apologetically. He was still wondering what the propose of the party was. It seemed everyone had almost naturally paired off or something. He was curious as the last actual party he went to was a few years ago.

Melody felt sort of out of place, she found, as she saw others pairing off for dances and such while looking for Azzo. For a Single's Awareness party it certainly seemed more like a Valentine's Day dance. She shook her head and let out a sigh. That was quickly interrupted as she heard Azzo behind her and she turned with blinking brown eyes. Her blonde hair, pulled up into a high ponytail and curled, bounced about her shoulders from the action - something she wasn't sure how much she liked the feeling of. Darn her mother for dressing her up like this! The dress she wore was cute but conservative, her mother having picked it out and it was the nicest out of the others, and was paired off with a pair of white strapped heels. She gave him a smile, curtsied a bit, then smoothed down the skirt of her dress. "A-ah yes... Well..." A blush of embarrassment, she felt bad about being late when she had invited him. "My mother seemed to think it was best if I showed up "fashionably" late... Sorry."

Tate was not misled, mostly because she was trying to fight off the green-eyed monster. It took conscious thought to pay attention to Howl when her best male friend was over at the bar, talking to some little redheaded tart--
Deep calming breath. She smiled at Howl, directing her eyes back to his. "Thank you," she said, "you look very nice, too." Still no mention of the unicorn comment. It was a normal Howl conversation, it seemed, for which she was relieved, and her smile was a little larger and more natural than normal for it. "I'm sorry," she said, "I'm distracted this evening."
Distracted was such a tame word for it. Every few minutes, she would glance up and over at someone else--Ladon--and then hurriedly look back to Howl. And it was slowly becoming obvious to her how clear it had to be to others, with her blush spreading across her collarbone. Height differences nothing, she'd rather dance with Ladon--it hurt her to think that he might think she didn't care for him, or had dragged him here as part of an elaborate joke.
She sighed. "Do you want to go sit?"
Looking around, Elke saw Azzo. She saw Melody, too, and watched Grayson twirl around the floor prettily with Imogen. This was good, she felt, watching the pair; Imogen dancing with Grayson was a lot more appropriate than him dancing with Ignacio. She sighed and rolled her eyes, then ran down the stairs to grab onto Imogen--gently of course, but she felt like she'd known the redhead for ever so long.
"Imo! It's been so long! Hey, do you want to sit with me? Please sit with me! I feel like we should sit together."

Ignacio wasn't exactly a good dancer. Most of his dancing consisted of him shaking his a** towards the sun and grinning like an idiot. Once he got into his moves, it was hard to get him out as he swirled around the floor, completely ignoring that it was almost time for food. He had forgotten that he had come down to the dance floor to bother Grayson once he was done dancing with that girl... Imogen, right? until Grayson came over and commented to him himself.
"Gray!" exclaimed Ignacio, happily, turning around to catch sight of the man that he had been distracted by in the first place. "Didn't expect to see you here. Dani dragged you off somewhere and I was bored, so I came here since there was nothing better to do anyway, and I still don't feel comfortable inviting people over to your house to hang out--they're serving food?"
Ignacio was rambling, but this was typical of him. Still, despite how far he seemed to be into himself, he did notice that Grayson seemed, at least, less melancholy than usual. That was enough to make Ignacio grin. "Yeah, let's get some food. Maybe we can dance after we eat?" Maybe it was the dancing that had made Grayson happy. Didn't he used to dance with beautiful flames? When was the last time Grayson had danced with beautiful flames?
The freckled boy, after all, hadn't seen him in the auditorium for a while.

"I believe it far better for you to be late than me." He chuckled slightly nervously. "I mean after all, if I late then you could be mad at me." His eyes wondered around as he placed his hands behind his back.
His eyes flicked over faces, few he felt like he should remember, like Elke... But he didn't remember them. Then there was faces like Grayson and Nacio. "You're brother's here too." He said softly before glancing towards where there were apparently staff heading up stairs.
"I wonder what we missed." He muttered softly before flicking to the dance floor once again. He smiled, "So what do you want to do?" He asked softly, unsure if Melody was the type to dance or if she was interested in whatever dinner they might be offering when it was served.

She laughed, a soft and sweet noise. "No, Azzo. I wouldn't be mad at you, especially not with a good reason for it." Which he had given her regardless, it seemed valid enough to her.
At the mention of her brother, she perked just so and turned her gaze around the room. When she caught sight of him she smiled and made a note to go pester him later. Sadly, though, Azzo and Ignacio were the only people she knew. A few faces tugged at the memories she couldn't recall and she found herself feeling bad that she couldn't place any of them what so ever. It also made her wonder, did any of them know her? Would any of them talk to her?
"Actually, I was going to ask what you wanted to do... I'm not so good at such things and didn't know if you were much of a dancer." She knew a little of how to dance, but not much.

As the song ended, so did their dance. Gracefully, the teal-haired boy managed to fluidly maneuver the girl from being held in the basic waltz position to once more to a basic escorting position. As a gentleman should, he sincerely uttered "Thank you for the dance, my dear." He nodded his head gently, ever considerate of her words and situation.
"It is okay, Miss Tatiana. It would seem as if I should apologize for cutting in line for snatching up a dance with you."
Yes, Howl had noticed. As he guided the brunette away from the dance floor, he continued to smile kindly. Already, the wheels in his head were turning, and a partial plan was already formed. In a casual tone, he asked something which perhaps would embarrass his current companion slightly. He had been a bit curious about the subject, but for now, it was strictly a tool to momentarily blind the ever observant Miss Tatiana Konstantin of his work.
"I am quite curious as to where you came up with that pet name you gave me, Miss Tatiana?" He paused to let the girl fully pick up on her own which name he had meant. There had only been one pet name she'd ever dare to call him. After a long enough pause, he added "I found it to be a bit surprising, but it is a rather charming pet name." He glanced to the girl as he proceeded towards the bar area, hoping to bring his current companion to her current distraction without being caught.

Eve Summers was late.
She was honestly quite excited about the singles ball; it could be fun! It wasn't as if she had any boyfriend to spend the day with, and Eve never really celebrated Valentine's Day, unless you counted her sending flowers to practically everyone she knew and racking her brain to make sure she didn't leave out anyone. It wouldn't be nice if she did, and so far, she was satisfied that she hadn't forgotten anyone.
She wasn't sure if she should ask Rea along... was Rea still upset about Charys leaving their team? She seemed to be, and Eve settled for placing the invitation on her bed in a very obvious manner so her roommate would see it, and proceeded to dress up.
Soon, the blonde girl entered the hall with a bright smile, wearing a pretty pink dress, immediately going over to give a little apology to the hostess for being late. She quickly scanned the room to see if there was anyone she knew, and surprise, surprise! Her prom date, Marlo Xanis, was here, but there was no sign of his brother.
And Eve had a suspicion as to why.
With a soft sigh, she made her way over to Marlo, waving at him to catch his attention as she did so. "I got your carnations." She told him once she reached where he was. "Elzo was right when he said you're the type to shower a girl with flowers." She teased lightly, giving a brief nod towards Aurora. She was the girl that had told her and Rea about Charys being in hospital, and a senshi too. Still, upon knowing her secret identity, Eve hadn't really been close to her. Ah well.

It had been a while since he and Ignacio had talked, and their last few encounters had been less than casual, anyway. Grayson was happy to see him being more himself, and it showed in his grin as he ran his hand down the length of his tie, straightening it. That was the problem with Grayson in a tie -- he seemed to always want to mess with it.
"Sure, I'd like to dance." He was beginning to feel more like his old self, and with the realization, his smile dropped a fraction. There he was again, starting to feel guilty for feeling good; it was a vicious, never-ending cycle that he found himself in. Grief was... a strange thing.
But distraction had worked so far. He would just continue to keep a good face until he got home, and if he needed to, he could feel as guilty as he liked out of the view of anyone else.
"Come on." He touched Ignacio's elbow lightly, nudging him to come along. His smile was back, and he started leading his friend toward the stairs. "We can probably sit together, I think. I don't see why not. Maybe you and Elke can even talk for a bit."
He knew they didn't get along. He knew why, on Elke's part, and he understood that Ignacio was frustrated because he didn't know why, but Elke was his sister and Ignacio was his good friend. Probably his best friend at this point, all things considered. He really wished they could get along.

Calintha had flip flopped on whether or not to go to the singles awareness night since she had started getting ready. When shampooing, she had herself convinced that it was ridiculous, and she was just going to shower and go to bed. However, when Calintha took a steady hand to her eyelashes she was thinking maybe it wasn't a terrible idea.
Sitting down on her bed, Calintha slipped on her low white heels, glancing casually at the clock. The hands had already passed the 8pm mark by a few minutes. This was it, it was now or never. With a determined look Calintha grabbed her coat and the invitation and headed out the door.
It only took her a few minutes to reach the address on the invitation, thankfully her apartment was relatively close by. Entering the establishment timidly, she tugged on the bottom of her dress nervously. She dressed fairly simple for the night, a deep red dress that fell to her knees with a few pearls sewn into birds at the shoulders. Her traditional head band was upgraded to a different white one, this time made of lace. Calintha was nervous as she stepped forward to the host, hesitantly shoving her invitation forward. "Am I too late to join?"

Azzo grinned, "Good. Still. It's more polite for ladies to be late." He was probably going to get smacked with a handbag or newspaper for that one. Whichever was in reach.
He chuckled slightly, "Ugh... I hate faces I should know but don't." He muttered. Again there were a few that he felt he should known, though perhaps Mel shared that sentiment.
Azzo however, didn't hover long on that branch of converstation. He blinked and looked around. "Ohhh... I smell something good cooking." He said softly taking Melody by the hand, and softly nudged her side with his elbow. "Come on, lets see what's upstairs."
He started to escort her up the stairs to where the sent of food was wafting from. Granted most people probably couldn't even smell the food yet, he blamed his grandmother for this talent. It's how he woke up in the morning.
