Two new items from the Elders! Awesome XD Make sure to log in to get the items! I'll be updating the event post with it.
Please realize though that only members who joined before the 15th got this item, and it will most likely not be given out another way; however, I'm sure there will be a special item just for members who joined after the 15th :3 Afterall, they said a special gift to say welcome and a special gift to their oldbies, didn't they?

Miscellaneous updates [02/22/06 06:40:01 PM]
- Fixed polls so Whuddlebeans earned through the polls count towards citizenship (and referrals)
- Snowball messages will always display names now
- Patched a couple areas of the registration process, including updating the 'lost password' process to display the security question as it should be.
- Other miscellaneous internal updates.
**NOTE**
As a result of this update, people who haven't been getting credit for referrals should have credit for their referrals tomorrow morning, after a nightly task is run tonight, so check your referral history in the morning.

Well, referals are now more or less fixed =D So yay!
In another note, please do not talk about Quest stuff here, talk about them in the Quest forum. Remember, you have to buy subforums and I'm nooot rich XD So I'd like to see it being used.
We did get a new hint today however, which you can get to by clicking the World Map Whuddleville fountain ^^

Quick Overview of Citizenship [02/25/06 06:05:46 PM]
Citizenship will basically recognize and reward well-behaved, respectful Citizens of WhuddleWorld. There's really not a lot more to it than that. We know that sounds rather "stuffy", especially when WhuddleWorld is supposed to be about fun! But every community, whether on the Internet or in real life, has to have some guidelines and rules in order to keep things from turning into a big mess. Follow the rules (TOS), be respectful of others in the community and generally just have fun and you'll be on your way to enjoying all the benefits being a Citizen of WhuddleWorld has to offer.
Some of the features will include:
1) Activation of the 'Citizenship Meter' inside each Omnibus, where you can see what level of Citizenship you have earned and how close you are to reaching the next level.
Levels:
Bronze
Silver
Gold
Platinum
2) Different features on WhuddleWorld will require certain levels of Citizenship to access. This will include: Blah-Blah-Blah Boards (including topic level access), the BabbleBoard and the upcoming Clubs
3) Reaching certain levels of Citizenship will provide access to many special benefits such as: Special Topics on the BBB Boards, new moderation tools, ability to apply for a Guide position, special titles and much more!
4) Earning Citizenship will be fairly simple - log in frequently, make Whuddle friends, refer others to WhuddleWorld, participate in contests and events, let us know when you find bugs or problems, help each other out, donating...are just a few examples.
The Citizenship System will be launched along with Clubs sometime between the middle and the end of March.

New Event? Looks like it! I'll be working on an event post ASAP.
Happy One Year Anniversary...
...to WhuddleWorld and all it's citizens. That's right! WhuddleWorld's portal first appeared on the net just one year ago! Wow - how time flies! In honor of the occasion, a few of WhuddleWorld's earliest citizens and founding members will be wandering about WhuddleWorld today. If you see one of them as you explore WhuddleWorld - be sure to say "Hi!" (Click on them). I'm sure they'll be glad to share their thoughts with you. (And maybe some goodies too!)

Big Changes
Greetings everyone,
With very little ado, I'm posting to let you all know that there will be some big changes coming up on WhuddleWorld early next week.
1. WhuddleWorld will be effectively closing its doors to new registrations entirely as of Wednesday, March 8th. In addition, logins to the whuddleworld.com web site itself will be disabled.
2. WhuddleWorld will be moving to a closed beta environment for a period of 3 mos. - some of you will be receiving individual emails inviting you to be a part of this period of beta development.
I know this may come as startling news to some of you - and we want to assure you that WhuddleWorld has no plans to "GO AWAY" permanently. We will explain more over the weekend and on Monday.
In the meantime, the WoWS quest has been put on hold and the Topic will be locked.

Since Rini isn't online right now, and earlier, she said it was ok for anyone to post announcement, I decided I would do it today =]
So...WhuddleWorld will only be "open" for people to log on and sign up until March 8th, when it closes down for 3 months while the elders/staff members are working on the site.

More details on the Closed Beta [03/03/06 11:29:35 PM]
As mentioned in the previous post, WhuddleWorld will be moving to 'Closed Beta Development' as of midnight on Wednesday (March 8th).
Here are some additional specifics on what that will mean:
1. Logins will be disabled as of midnight on Wed., March 8th, and logins will not be re-enabled until our Grand Re-Opening in June.
(A specific date in June has not yet been determined)
2. The Snowball event will end when the site is closed up on Wednesday, and the winners will be declared and given their awards when the site is re-opened for logins in June.
3. We have selected approximately 500 of our currently registered citizens to participate in the closed beta development - those of you who were selected should be receiving an email from us sometime between now and Monday, March 6th.
4. As we get closer to June and the Grand Re-opening of WhuddleWorld, we will send out an email to all of our currently registered Citizens to let them know the specifics and the date.
And again, while we realize this is a bit unexpected - we're looking forward to what this will mean for WhuddleWorld overall. June should be VERY EXCITING here in WhuddleWorld and we hope that you'll all stick around for the Grand Re-Opening!

Well, WhuddleWorld is now closed until Monday, March 13th, 2006 at 6PM EST (3PM PST, 4PM MST, 5PM CST, 1AM GMT) so to all beta testers, I'll hope to see you there :3
