((>.< No there isnt. lol ^^ *snugs kudo* My son is teh shmex.))
It was just a bit later when the ambulance came and the paramedics eyes widened at the site of the injuries on Klonoa, Hikaro and Zaner... they seemed to not realize for a moment the children were different. I suppose the Hououza had become so repopulated that their species was not odd to the other humans who knew not of them. Although.... one of the paramedics did have cat ears so I'm not sure if you could call her human. She gently checked Zan's pulse as she hung limp in Kudo's arm, she asked if he already realized. It was with a grimace and a nod that Kudo answered and they took her body to a body bag and shut her away to be taken care of after the others. Kudo retreated back to his room teary eyed, he wasn't sure what he would tell his lover but that's a story for another roleplay, not this one.
Klonoa sighed as the paramedics forced him into the ambulance because he was wounded but could walk... that and they only had one stretcher. They took one mere look at Hikaro and brought it in and told him to lie down. Klonoa looked to his lover with a bit of sadness, he had caused his once golden friend this pain... someday he would make it up... someday.
Meanwhile Junpei went to the other rooms to inform the children, whom all gathered in the pet room because they needed something fuzzy to hug. A smile played on the mute's lips as he watched the fuzzies comfort them... it was all he could do not to cry.

Hikaro never had been in a stretcher before. Heck, he'd never been in an ambulance, or to a hospital either! In truth, being strapped down to a rolling table was more frightening than facing Mirabelle was. He would have preferred to lie on his stomach, but the injury to his chest prevented that. The golden phoenix groaned quietly, but eventually was silent.
Once they both were inside, Hikaro wiggled one of his arms free to reach out for Klonoa. His fingertips lightly grazed at the hem of his shirt before he grasped onto Klonoa's hand. His young lover was so hurt emotionally. He wanted to bring that smooth hand and kiss at the knuckles, and try to smooth out the rough edges with his lips. Sadly all he could do was smile. Kisses were for another day.
"What can I do for your smile?" He asked, wanting to see Klonoa smile once again.

The paramedics started the car, only one of the two remaining in the back, as was the tradition. She, the cat paramedic, sat politely letting them talk and saying nothing so it seemed as if they were alone.
Klonoa curled his fingers with Hikaros, looking up at his lover and best friend. He tried to give a very small smile but it merely feel from his lips. Even his hair seemed to be dead upon his marble stature. "This... is my fault... you're hurt so badly because of me... I can't smile until I know you're okay..." His violet eyes wavered and watered as he brought his hand, which was entwined with Hikaro's, to his cheek and nuzzled it lightly.
They were soon approaching the hospital. The paramedics eyes strayed to the body bag they had laid next to the stretcher. Her cat ears pressed gently against her curly hair and she looked up at the two phoenix's wishing she had chosen a different job.

Hikaro lightly twisted his fingers free of Klonoa's hand to lightly cup the marble face with fondness. He'd see that smile soon enough, and thanks to the fact Klonoa's plan had worked, they had much more time to wait. "I'll be alright, you'll see." Hikaro said, offering up his own smile for Klonoa. He knew he must look a mess, covered in scars and crusted over burns...
Letting his eyes roam around the ambulance, Hikaro could not find any sort of indication to where they were going. There was no window in the back, and he couldn't lift his head high enough to see out the windshield. Hell, he couldn't even tell how much time had passed since they started driving. He let his head fall back completely and stared at the white ceiling, knowing that in the hospital it surely must look the same. His nose curled up slightly at the smell of plastic inside the ambulance.
Soon enough the driver stopped at the enterance, though the rumbling of the engine never ceased. He'd be off soon, off to find another wounded person to bring back here, where only 80% of the people who went in emerged again. The back doors clicked and swung open, and two more paramedics reached in to pull out the stretcher. Hikaro watched one of them cringe slightly as he looked over his wound as they pulled him free from the truck.

The cat paramedic hopped out of the back first in a dignified graceful and effortful manner, as if stating, 'I am completely in control of this situation.' In truth her eyes were worrisome and her tail didn't move, it just hung and dragged along the ground, she spoke very breifly with the other paramedics explaining the situation. They nodded and muttered inaudible things as one of them began to take Hikaro inside and into a room immediately because he had some bad burns. Klonoa was also escorted inside with mild difficulty because of his previous head concussion. The cat paramedic looked to the driver who was solemn but his eyes overflowed with the knowledge and words he would never speak but knew the cat could forever hear. Soon there was another set of paramedics taking the body into the hospital so it could properly been taken care of, with that the cat woman hopped back into the ambulance which was bestowed with another job. It drove out of sight never to be seen again.
Klonoa was vaguely aware of being taken to a room different from Hikaro's, he caused a huge fuss saying he wanted to stay with Hikaro and he only injured himself by doing this, up to the point where he passed out. Eventually they put him into the bed next to Hikaro's and there were two nurses and one doctor examining Hikaro and prodding him with sticks and ointments and bandages of the sort. Klonoa was met by two well-learned nurses who took care of his own wounds and told him to rest. His eyes looked upon Hikaro, whom he could see for the screen was pulled back. The doctor seemed to be explaining the condition and healing time of his injuries. Klonoa's eyes seemed to droop as he nodded off.
After another ten minutes a tiger-featured woman with butterfly wings flashed down the hallway and burst into Hikaro and Klonoa's room, she shuffled past the nurses and doctors and awoke Klonoa gently, "Where's Zan? Tell me Klonoa, where's my little sister?" Her voice was desperate, her eyes red from crying. She had been told Zan was dead and she wasn't going to accept it.
Klonoa blinked awake, staring at her... he shook his head. "...She's... gone Auntie Lola..."
The woman's eyes widened and she took a step back, "No no ... no..." She grew hysterical and one of the nurses bustled in and put her arms around the woman hushing her and telling her to sit in a chair. The kind nurse ushered the butterfly tiger into a chair and then gave her some calming medication and ran off but not before giving her a warm smile. The woman grew into a daze and Klonoa watched her sadly, then he looked upon Hikaro whose wounds were still being taken care of by the nurses.

Several weeks had passed since Zan's untimely death and their defeat of Mirabelle's demented plot for world destruction. Hikaro was healing quite nicely. His wings sported a fluffy layer of down, the pin feathers only beginning to emerge. He no longer wore bandages on them, but covered up a lot more. Despite the way he aquired them, Hikaro found himself extremely self concious of his scars.
Still he never broke his word to Klonoa, and though he had to leave for work daily, He returned to ensure his young friend was well. The marble colored Hououza was growing to be a strapping teenager, and somehow Hikaro managed not to give away his affections too much, though he'd fallen hard for that shy and sensitive phoenix.
Sitting on the windowsill, Hikaro was curled up on a beanbag placed on the corner, a notebook propped up on his leg and nursing a mug of tea. It was still snowing lightly outside, and frost collected on the window, illuminating the steam from the teacup lightly.
Hikaro was wearing a red fleecy turtleneck and simple denim jeans, but was barefoot as usual. The mug to his nose, Hikaro's golden eyes scanned the notes he made on the paper.

((I'll put myself on a limb and say you're in my house still... or somewhere where Klonoa can pop in...))
The 'strapping teenager' walked with an uppy aloof step into the room. The last few weeks he didn't understand why Hikaro was acting weird, he had known that Hikaro had passed out before his love confession but he was also positive that the way Klonoa had been acting as of late had given it away that he was in love with the golden phoenix of the sun. His mussy violet hair fell cutely into his eyes as his marble body strutted over lightly to the adult. He knelt next to him and smile kindly. None of his worries seemed to exist at this point, not when he was with Hikaro, and not after everything he'd gone through. His loving smile watched as Hikaro was scanning the paper and gently his grey marble woven hands reached out to touch Hikaro's own. "Karo..." His fond and sweet voice looked up at the one whom he loved so much. He longed to place his own lips on the male's but he would not do so. And his promise not to smile had quickly vanished when Hikaro had healed some, and when Hikaro visited him each day Klonoa had felt that they were even closer. If this was the case though, then why would Hikaro not say the words Klonoa wanted so badly to hear from his childhood friend, from the man he wanted as his lover.

((Oi, that's what I intended, sorry if I was unclear.))
As much as Hikaro spent staring at Klonoa, he was convinced the love and fondness so readily apparent in those violet eyes was toward him as a brother and a protector, never once believing that Klonoa thought of him as a lover, that the shy marble phoenix might carry the terrible sin of being gay.
Hikaro took a sip of the hot tea gratefully, almost humming to himself. It was very good tea, just as good as hot chocolate for warming on a cold day like this. Out of the corner of his eye Hikaro spotted Klonoa approaching and crouching beside him- perhaps to drag Hikaro off to play a game.
"Karo..."
The sunshine phoenix blinked and looked to Klonoa, at that gentle beaming smile, his hand interlocking with the one that held the pencil. Letting it fall from his hand, Hikaro reached out and brushed the violet hair back, enjoying the way it felt threaded through his fingers. He let his hand draw around to lightly cup Klonoa's chin, internally maddened with his desire to lift that purple head and lay a kiss upon his smiling lips. "Oh...Klonoa..."
His whisper of Klonoa's name obviously held the same confession he had made the day he passed out, but heavy with tragedy as Hikaro was still unconvinced his feelings were returned by the shy youth. "Do you need something?" He asked, using his knees to fold the notebook and letting it drop to the floor. He was tired of studying it, anyway.

Klonoa's lashes swept his cheeks as he closed his eyes at the other's touch. Then a moment later he opened them leaned closer to Hikaro. He longed to say so many things but he was scared, it was a feeling of nervousness that rose in his chest. His distraught manner shone in his violet eyes for a moment and then they vanished. He needed to say it, he wanted to believe if he said the words then Hikaro would return them. And perhaps Klonoa could stay in his arms as he wanted so badly to do. Klonoa seated himself indian style, simply staring at Hikaro a moment before taking the hand that had caressed his face into his own hands. His voice was a soft and gentle whisper, "Karo.... I need you." It was a begging request. Not for sex. Just for his love. "Hikaro... don't ... don't you .... don't you realize? I love you." Klonoa's eyes locked with Hikaro's, and the teen couldn't move. It was as if he was frozen in time, waiting for his lover's lips to move and tell him that the love was returned.
((....terrible sin of being gay... X3 that's not a sin silly goose XD
It's fine, I'm a good guesser.))

"Karo...I need you."
Hikaro was confused for a brief moment. Usually when Klonoa needed him, it was to reach something really high, or to assist making food, nothing this...Oh. Oh gods...
Hikaro's hand was held in Klonoa's hand against his cheek, holding it there as he was stared up at with those gorgeous violet eyes. A heat rose in his chest, and suddenly he was warm all over. Klonoa loved him? As in, not brotherly love, but genuine love. He was still so young to have fallen for Hikaro, who was more than old enough to be his father, for phoenix's sake. Hikaro was one of the first to manifest.
But he could never leave Klonoa.
"Klonoa...I love you, I have always, always loved you."
And with that, Hikaro lifted Klonoa's chin up, leaned down, and consumated the action he longed to do for months. The first kiss was sweat as tender lips met tender lips in a shy union.

Those words.
'I have always, always loved you.'
A flame lit in his entire being and his reaction was a passionately happy one. Finally the words he longed to hear had been said and finally the kiss he had longed for was on his lips. Gently he leaned closer to return the kiss. He didn't want this to end, he didn't want to ever leave Hikaro again. He didn't want five seconds to go by without him by his side, he knew it was impossible because Hikaro had a job but every other second of his free time Klonoa wanted to be with him.
Eventually, Klonoa broke the kiss gently and looked into the sunshine phoenix's eyes. "Karo." His voice was soft, childish. "I've.... wanted.... please just hold me?" It was a bold request from one so shy, but he was growing up and it should've been expected. The violet marble child reached out to wrap his arms around Hikaro hoping he wouldn't be refused by his newfound lover.

Hikaro was right, Klonoa did love him. By the way he leaned up to him, returning his kiss, by the way he gazed into his eyes when it was over, by just the way he was Hikaro knew. It was so obvious now.
Reaching down, Hikaro embraced Klonoa. Sliding into his arms, he felt like he was really home. He'd hugged Klonoa many times before, but it never felt this way, as it was wanted, welcome and reciprocated. He lifted Klonoa to nestle in his lap in the windowsill, glad Zan's house was rural. It offered a lovely view of the backyard wooded area, powdered over with icy fluff. Deer tracks barely marred the snowy carpeting, and a cardinal chirped on a tree branch. Hikaro tangled his arms around his violet beloved, nuzzling into the crook between neck and shoulder.

Klonoa, frankly, didn't care about anything else. All he cared about at this moment was Hikaro, was the one he loved. He tangled his own arms around Hikaro's and snuggled up to the adult. His eyes had closed, the violet lashes caressing his soft marble face. So this was it? This was the feeling he'd waited so long to feel... this kind of love... this kind of touch... everything about Hikaro was something else for Klonoa to love. The phoenix had risked his life for him and it hadn't even mattered that Klonoa had been unimportant. To Hikaro, he was something, he was someone. He knew it, and he knew now more then ever that the man who's arms he lay in was the one he wanted to stay with. Forever and eternity. "I love you... Karo... forever... I promise."

Hikaro wanted to believe that, he wanted to believe it so hard it hurt. As he held Klonoa to himself, Hikaro had to tell himself it was because Klonoa was young, and Hikaro saved his life. Idol worship, or something. He would have to wait until Klonoa was older to see if he'd grow out of his infatuation or not, but for now, clinging to that little hope was all he had.
The blonde phoenix smiled as he could feel Klonoa's shy breaths against him, wondering at how they managed to get so wrapped up with one another, him entwined in Klonoa's destiny in a way he could never have fortold. What was to come next? Was the adventure over? With Mirabelle's defeat, were the trials overcome, or were they merely beginning?
Klonoa needed an education, and he'd likely get a job of his own. Hikaro was hesitant to even mention moving out until Klonoa was an adult. He didn't want them rushing into anything. Would they ever have kids of their own? Would they adopt? Hikaro blinked suddenly, realizing he'd been fantasizing about things that were yet to come, if they were to come at all. Embarressed and beside himself if Klonoa knew went on in his head he reached up to pat his lover's light hair. "I love you Klonoa, and will stand beside you forever. I promise."

Klonoa, eyes closed, leaning close to Hikaro, wondered perhaps if this was a fantasy that he would get pulled from. Maybe he was not allowed this happiness? He prayed in the deepest part of his heart that he would be allowed this reprieve. After all he had done, he had changed fate, rewritten destiny, saved his sister.... after all he had gone through, watched Zan die, watched Hikaro get injured... after all of that he could not forget that day when his life had first began on this earth. The day he came forth from his tomb of a feather he had met Hikaro. He had known him all his life and he had no one else whom he was moderately close to... in fact Klonoa had no other friends of the sort. A teen now, half of his life seemed to have disappeared, and yet here he was... still so young, in the arms of someone so much older then he. When Klonoa had been a child, Hikaro had still been an adult... and yet... this did not matter to the marble boy. His lashes lifted and his violet eyes peered at Hikaro, "My family... is broken now... but I have you, don't I? You've always told me you'd stay by my side.... if I lost you... if I ever lost you Hikaro..." The voice was soft, still so childish, "What would be left for me? A broken house where my sister is gone and my mother has died?" Although the voice was small, the words and thoughts were obviously mature behind his gorgeous eyes. He looked up at Hikaro, wondering what he could say next, but found himself entranced in his lovers eyes. He had always loved those eyes, they felt so warm and loving that it was easy to loose one's self in them.
