Alantha smiles at Cyn’gus as she moves slowly. "Thank you..." Once she was sre she was alone she sighs softly. After a moment she comes back to the camp site and slowly sits back down again. She lays back down in her bed, thankful that she didn't pass out from simply having to go to the bathroom. "Ow..."

Turning his attention back to Alantha, he observes her slowly sit back down. He couldn't help wincing too with every careful movement she made. He tried to think of something to take her mind off of the pain and then realized that they hadn’t exchanged names with each other. ”…I do not believe we received your name my Lady”

Ramayaga merely sat and watched. The drow were a curious race, some as evil and sharp as a blade, others as kind and caring as a cloud. It was a shame Ramayaga only saw every living thing around it as a bag of flesh. Except the demoness it had spoken with, she was different than the rest and seemed to get rather angry at Rama for no reason. Standing up it turned to it's hosts "We thank it for their time, it has given us much to consider." Rama turned to Silence "We hope you find what you seek." Then onto Cyn'gus "May the dark lady watch over you." Finally to the last of the group who he had yet to formally meet "Try to rest as much as possible, being over active won't help it's bones heal."

The sound of metal being tapped could be heard through the encampment before a lone figure wandered in. It was a female, that much was obvious. She had rather pale flesh and it was only because the tips of her ears could be seen that she could often be recognized as an elf. Long dark hair covered in dirt and broken leaves from the earlier seasons covered her back. Her clothing was dark but contrasted nicely with the dull silver that were two metal cuffs clinging to her wrists. In one dirt encrusted hand was a dagger, also dull but extremely sharp. The most noticeable thing about this girl, though, was the dark cloth that covered her eyes for that piece of material was a mere symbol of the darkness in which she lived.

'Fire.... Food... Cooked foods....' She sniffed the air quickly and tapped the dagger against the closest solid surface she came into contact with. 'A meeting place, but with no humans.... That is good.'

"Who is here?" The words that passed her lips were cold and cautious. The dagger in her grasp was tapped again as she waited for a response. "Well?"

Cyn’gus bowed slightly as the visitor departed to the edge of where the light from the fires illuminated. It was not long before his ears twitched at the sound of metal tapping on metal. He scanned the horizon near the tree line searching for the source of the sound as it became closer and more distinct. Thinking the campsite had attracted another visitor, Cyn’gus waited patiently for their arrival.

Soon, a lone figure appeared, a female he could tell right away and an elf. Only when she wandered closer was he able to make the distinction of the latter. He raised his hand in greeting, only to notice that her eyes were covered and that she used what looked like a dagger to feel around the area around her. As he was pondering, she spoke, asking who was there. Cyn’gus though for a moment trying to formulate a response and put away the questions forming in his head. Then she spoke again, from her tone he guessed he had waited to long to finally respond.

”We are friends, and you are welcome to come and have a rest with us… do you need any help?” Cyn’gus said, unsure if he had been rude with the question.

A harsh laugh was torn from her throat. "Oh, yes. I need help finding my eyes. Have you seen them?" Her words were dripping in sarcasm, a learned defense when around others, and yet there was a hint of curiosity in her tone as she spoke.

Tapping the blade again, she began moving closer. "You smell strange.... Not like a human, but like some of their areas..." She turned her head, a motion that could have been looking around the camp. "What's going on here? This place was empty when the world was hot."

"Alantha, a name I gave myself..it's more calming then the name my mother...Matron gave me when I was yonger." Alantha bows her head to him. "Now I don't believe I got your name my new friend."

The girl turned towards the voice that called itself Alantha. "You smell like blood...." She smirked before turning back around and tapping her blade on the surfaces nearby.

Alantha couchs softly and looks down. "I'm hurt, but not that badly." She places a hand on her side. "Who..are you?" It was odd to see someone that was blind. The drow would kill anyone if such a problem happened.

"I never said you smelled bloody," the girl replied as she continued to move. Tapping the blade on what sounded like a box, she let off a half-smile. "I am Roesor...." Reaching a dirty hand up, she scratched the pale flesh of her neck. "Which I think is rather amusing, actually."

"Alantha..." She really didn't know what to make of this woman. "And I am sorry, I am not used to the blind, my kin would kill those that are weak...including the blind, this is my first time meting someone like you."

Silence was sitting by the fire eating her stew when she heard the discussion up near Cyn'gus. Looking up, she noticed the girl standing by both Cyn'gus and Alantha. Standing up slowly, one hand on her belly, she walked over to the group. A quick frown crossed her face as the new visitor walked away from her, but she simply shook her head and turned her attention toward their first visitor. "Are you feeling better, Alantha?" she asked with a smile and some concern her voice. "You seem to be breathing a bit easier."

The girl tilted her head in amusement as the one called Alantha spoke. "Most aren't...." She turned the cuffs around her wrists and began moving towards the warmth from further in the area; holding both wrists out to keep from bumping into anything. Nearing the circle of flames, she dropped to the ground and held both hands in toward the heat.

“My name is Cyn’gus” he said with a polite bow, “…and I apologise for not introducing myself earlier.” Cyn’gus smiled and then turned his attention to the new visitor making her way to the camp.

He listened to her speak, and then to Alantha begin a conversation with her. He wished to invite her near the fires to sit, but he sensed that she was a bit apprehensive. Perhaps not only we were strangers, but that she could not see us. He continued listening, and at the comment that he and Alantha gave off particular odors, he looked around nervously and inhaled, not sure what was meant by the comment as he only noticed the smell of the fires and the stew pot.

He was also fascinated by Alantha’s account’s of society below Gaia. Surprised but also saddened. The only consolation that came from the feeling that overcame him was Alantha presence. Standing here in the camp was one who had escaped and made her way to this sanctuary, however small and spartan it was, it’s purpose was being fulfilled.

It was Silence’s voice that brought him back to the moment. He peered over his shoulder and watched as the expecting mother, whom he considered a dear friend, made her way over to check on Alantha. It was dark elves like Silence that made the Outpost possible. She had walked the long walk from the UnderGaia, in exile from her homeland. Her knowledge and experience was invaluable here.

”Silence, we have another visitor this evening. Shall we make another spot by the fire one more for a warm meal?”

Silence and Sorrow

PostPosted: Tue Dec 08, 2009 6:19 pm

Silence smiled and nodded over toward the fire where the new visitor was sitting. "If you're the one making the meal, I shall cook something else." She waved her arm inviting both Cyn'gus and Alantha back over to the warm area and began to laugh as soft flakes of white fell to the earth. "Cyn'gus... Is snow on land better than snow on water and can a fish live on solid earth if it is in snow?" The question was crazy and Silence knew it, but she could not resist asking in an attempt to lighten the mood.

Before too long, Silence had pulled out another pot from the supplies and filled it with water to be set in to the fire. This pot was not meant for food, despite the earlier comment made of Cyn'gus' ability to cook. This pot of water was for cleaning up. Hot water to clean would be welcome as the night was quickly turning colder.
