Mia looked at Lore for a moment, she supposed if one wanted to be out in the middle of nowhere it was fine, but she wasn't sure if Cindy wanted to look after a child. A child who didn't fully understand the concept of family.

"It's worth a try," Lore told Mia, "Even if it's just looking after him and not a formal adoption."

Besides there were enough things out in the Borderlands that maybe there was a place for the little boy to expend his energies.

"Alright then, I'll talk to Cindy about it."

Vergil clapped his hands together. "Great!" he beamed up at the two, though there was a glint in his eyes. "Now that that's settled, would anyone like to tell me what you're talking about or what's going on? Am I being sent somewhere where there's a family for me? Nice, open space ... ?"

He wasn't fond of the fact that they were talking as if he weren't there, it made him feel very small ... never mind the fact that he was indeed small.

Lore decided perhaps he should explain since really he knew more than Mia did about the whole thing.

"This place is another world, some of our family members visit from time to time. Cinderella, or Cindy for short is currently living in the Borderlands to study the plant life. It is out in the middle of nowhere, with only a few houses for the families that live there. If you don't mind living with another family and that your own would technically just consist of a mother."

If Vergil understood that concept of just a mother.

Vergil didn't care about the other world anymore ... yes he wanted to go there, more desperately than ever, but what had caught his attention wasn't the idea of the open space or anything like that ... it was the idea of having a mother. He had always been looking for brothers, but the one figure he had always wanted the most desperately ... was a mother.

"A mother?" he squeaked, his eyes wide with hope and eagerness. "Really? A mother for ... for me?"

It was amazing how the little boy was looking like a little boy more and more by the minute. In which he better hope and pray that Cindy would say yes to this idea.

"Yes, Cindy would be the one looking after you so that would make her your mother."

Of sorts, he knew the family had a long history of adopting so he hoped that would still be the case.

Mia who realized what Lore would be worried about shrugged it off, "It'll be fine, Cindy will be thrilled."

Vergil literally jumped for joy, pumping his fists into the air. "Yes!" he cheered. "Yes! I'm going to have a family! A mother! I'm going to have a mother for a family!"

He hopped off the table and groveled at Lore's feet, his head bowed so low his forehead touched the ground. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

Lore resisted the urge to sigh, he really wouldn't trust Mia to take Vergil to the Borderlands. It looked like he would have to, which meant time out from work, but the sooner this was settle the better.

"Mia can I trust you to not do anything drastic while I go take Vergil to the Borderlands?" Lore inquired.

"Now what gives you the idea I would do something drastic?" Mia replied back innocently.

Bending down to pick the little boy up Lore replied back, "Because knowing you something could happen. I won't be long."

Hopefully.

Vergil patted at his side for a moment to make sure Yamato was safely sheathed there, and then he held his hands up to Lore to be picked up. Once he was safely in Lore's arms, he snuggled in, a happy grin on his face.

"Bye, Mia!" he grinned at her. "I'm off to have a mother!"

Lore smiled wistfully hoping everything would turn out well, or at least Cindy would be able to handle Vergil's bouts of temper. He carried Vergil off back the way he came to get back to the manor in order to get to the portal itself.

All the while Mia waved back, a bit bemused by the whole situation. It was most certainly unusual to say the least.
