Liam smiled slightly and snerked, sensing Lenore's reaction. Cute. Kinda creepy, but cute.
"What the...?
It took Liam a moment to recognize the crushed instrument in Crow's hand. Awesome...he wasn't alone.
"Here, luv," he smiled and unbuttoned his uniform before pulling off his normal shirt. He flipped open the cover to his control panel and removed a strange metallic pill from a slot beneath.
"I dunno if ye can understand me, but take this," he held the pill out to her as his system began glitching at the removal, "Emergency stash. I can't speak anythin' but Bregan." For good measure, he removed another pill and swallowed it. The advanced technology of Mei-Vaar worked to his benefit sometimes.
"Should last long enough ter get ye another...whatever it is ye call the translators."
"Leem!"
"Hm?"
"Turn 'round!"
Liam did as he was told and turned to Lenore and Ike, still shirtless.
"See? Metal."
Liam grinned broadly and quite exaggeratedly and pulled his shirt back on over his head.

"He's...he's like me, kinda-sorta..." Lenore breathed in astonishment.
She'd felt like a freak every now and then because of her razor feathers - seeing another person who was half-metal was a deeply pleasing thing. She blushed slightly and hastily turned what started as a faint giggle into a cough.
The English sounded warped and unfamiliar to Crow. Taking the pill-thing with a bit of forboding, she tried to match what he said to what she remembered about the foreign language.
Well, okay. Do I swallow it or stick in my ear...? What th' hell do I do with it? she wondered. Raising it to her lips, she gave a faint shrug.
Well, here's hoping.
She swallowed the pill. Bursting into a coughing fit as her body tried to reject it, she tried to clamp her jaws shut as she choked.
"Ga'alshat MAH! Deldaga mesht yal-amn that f*cking HURTS!"
Cringing in embarrassment and clapping a hand to her mouth as her cursing translated into English, she hunched her shoulders and coughed again.
"Uh....thanks."

Liam winked at Lenore and spun around on one foot, turning back to Crow and chuckling slightly.
"Any time, luv. Really. Anyone 'o can malfunction is a friend 'o mine."
Rabid, although relieved at the falling action, felt kind of off-to-the-side and unwanted.
"What was it you were saying before?"
"Leeeeeen," Ike giggled and rolled his eyes at his friend.
Clematis squinted, trying to get a better look at the obvious necromancer before them. Just shadows. Darn. Now she wanted to see his face!

Tearing her unwitting stare from Liam in sudden embarrassment, Lenore gave a scoff and crossed her arms, looking away coolly.
"What?"
Brushing the charred remains of her LTJ off her hands, Crow gave a weak self-conscious laugh.
"Uh, yeah."
Blushing again as she remembered calling him Nahalthes, she was supremely grateful he didn't pry about it.
"Um...just, yanno, this an' that," she said evasively in reply to Rabid, cursing her Ourobat-addled pleas for forgiveness and offerings of cattle as apology-gifts.
Cripes, I was out of it. What did I do? she thought anxiously, looking around to make sure there weren't any glass-impaled bodies lying around.
"Sorry for th' freak-out. Hasn't happened in awhile."

"Well," Liam arched a pierced eyebrow, "Why don't we make sure it dun'n't 'appen again, eh? Hug an' make up, or I'll do it for ye..." These mood swings of Rabids were going to kill him, one way or another.
Rabid crossed her arms and gave Crow a slight, sad look. She wasn't going to make the first move. Being impaled on your best friend's claws was not quite as pleasurable as it sounded.
"You know what," Ike giggled again, and then whispered, "but Ike no tell nobody."

Feeling blood creep into her face, Lenore gave a shrug and crossed her arms, examining her nails with what she hoped was cool indifference.
"Pfft. Whatever, Bah. Dunno what you're talking about," she said mildly, hoping he didn't pick up on the fact that she was blushing.
Way to make the situation even more awkward, dude.
Crow directed the thought at Liam, wishing he could hear it. Sure, it would have been easy to apologize after getting survivor's guilt and depression out of her system over a cup of tea and a long discussion with Rabid, but no, she'd had to have an episode of violently uncontrolled psychokinesis and burn out her LTJ.
She had the strangest nagging feeling she'd been a little over-emotional.
"Um."
She hesitated, scuffing the floor with her boots and looking up at the ceiling, embarrassed.
"M'sorry. I don't hate you."
She said it quickly, but she meant it.
"Friends?" she asked, holding out her hand awkwardly and still looking up at the ceiling.

Ike snickered at Lenore, but made no further comments. She was quite obviously embarassed, and he didn't want to further that feeling.
Liam snerked, hearing her thought quite well.
Rabid thought for a moment before grabbing the sides of Crow's face and pulling her head down straight.
"Friends," she smiled and gave Crow a quick squeeze, although not as big of one as she would have liked to.
Well, it worked, didn't it? Liam thought to Crow.
"You need to come over some time soon, alright? We really need to talk."

To her credit, though she nearly jumped out of her skin, Crow bit back the curse of surprise as she heard Liam's unspoken reply.
Oh, for the love of Pete. Isn't there anyone in the world that doesn't have some kind of freaky super-power?!
Looking at Rabid after only a second's hesitation, she hugged her friend again, releasing her after a minute looking embarrassed again.
"I'm not doing anything anytime soon - we can go back to my room and have a long, quite possibly mentally damaging conversation," she said as lightly as she could.
Lenore gave Malachi a wary expression and pressed a twiggy finger to her lips before trotting back to the grown-ups, who thankfully weren't trying to kill each other.
"Everything alright now?"

Of course! Rabid's can't d--wait...
"I think so, Lenore," Liam smiled down at the girl.
"Y'mean now? I have some stuff I have to get done by the end of today. Soon, though. Soon." Rabid said truthfully, which also explained her random traveling of the HQ grounds. She both did and did not want to talk to Crow, but there was never a better time than...later. Much later, "C'mon, kids. We've gotta go."
She gave Crow another quick hug before motioning for the children to follow her.
"C'mon," Ike said and tugged Clematis gently by the wrist, "I'll show you my room. C'mon, Skelly."
"Okay," Clematis smiled and followed close behind.
"Bye. See you again soon," Skelly wriggled from Sadako's grip and ran off behind Malachi.

Grateful that Rabid had given her some time to collect herself before the Talk, Crow waved goodbye and took off in the opposite direction, intent on going back outside.
"Bye, guys. Stay away from the windows, just in case," she said, joking a bit weakly.
And don't surprise anyone else with the telepathy, Liam - you almost gave me a heart attack!
Lenore watched them go regretfully, waving shyly again to Liam.
"Bye!"
Sadako toyed with her flower and giggled hoarsely, fluttering her eyelashes.
"Maybe we go kill someone tomorrow!" she called after Skelly cheerfully.

"Are you sure you don't need me here?"
Julian rolled his eyes tolerantly, grinning in slight exasperation.
"I'm sure - I was sure five minutes ago when you asked, and three minutes before that. I'm fine - go on to work, do the scientist thing."
Crow fidgeted with sincere misgivings before relenting, kissing Julian's forehead.
"Alright. Just... I dunno, just don't do anything."
Julian quirked an eyebrow in mock confusion.
"Does that include breathing?"
Crow gave him a good natured whack on the arm and shook her head, muttering nonsensically.
"Just try not to overwhelm yourself, alright? I'll be back around six."
Julian waved his sister off as she left. Wondering what to do with himself, he looked around aimlessly.
"Huh. Now what?"

Rabid walked slowly down the hall, half-dancing and singing something nonsensical. She would have felt like a total idiot, had she cared at all.
Ike sat upon Mummy's shoulders, giggling happily and swishing his tail. He was enjoying Mummy's new and seemingly completely random good mood.
Peering down the hallway at a figure going down the stairs, Rabid sighed. Crow'd left already? Damn.
Ah well!

In the middle of wondering whether he should go back to the room or see what there was to do around in town, Julian's ears caught the sound of singing. Looking around in curiosity, he brightened as he saw Rabid and Malachi. Feeling a bit awkward for reasons he couldn't really fathom, he went towards them and waved a little shyly.
"Um. Good morning," he said, wondering if Rabid had told Malachi about what had happened the other day.

Rabid stopped dancing abruptly and grinned to Julian.
"JU-LEEN!" Ike yelped and leaped off Mummy's shoulders, bounding over to Julian and hugging him as best he could.
"Oh, yeah," Rabid laughed nervously, "He's back, Ike. Hey...are you feeling better? It's nice to not see you, you know, huddled in a pool of blood on my floor..."

"Hey, Ike," Julian said affectionately, ruffling Malachi's hair. Lokoing up to grin shyly at Rabid, he blushed faintly.
"Heh, yeah... s'nice to see you too."
There was a comfortably awkward pause, and Julian cracked his knuckles in slight embarrassment.
"So. Uh. Anything new hapening?"
Provided you just saw her yesterday, I doubt anything's new, you dip. Reeeeeal smooth.
