Rhaim watched Tenmas hands as she explained that she wasn't very good and went to conduct the same actions that he had done previously. He wanted to stop her and say which ones she was supposed to grab but he wasn't sure if maybe she knew something about the game or the nature of the string that he didn't. After all he had only learned the game from her and mere thirty seconds prior. Once she reformed the design of the strings he looked it over to see if it was the same as before. And of course it was. The boy cocked his head as he inspected it visually to make sure that his previous calculations were correct.
"At least you knew how to do it. It doesn't matter if someone is better at something if they don't know what the end result is supposed to be. At least that's what mom says about cooking."
Rhaim closed his eyes in an attempt to make the task a bit more of a challenge for his short term memory recall and depth perception. He was fairly certain that if he watched his hands move that he would easily get the 'box' set up correctly. However if he could remember where his hands were supposed to go and get it done without looking then he'd at least be able to say that he wasn't completely wasting Tenmas time.

Damn…Rhiam was going at this without eyes. Then again, if he needed a greater challenge then all the better for him. However, Tenma needed to make sure her well hidden competitive side was concealed and that she didn’t attempt something so daring in an attempt to match him. Then again, it was a comforting feeling, working with someone of a higher caliber than you. That way, if one was to become confused or if they were to hit a slight rut in the metaphorical road of the shinobi, said person could assist in making that speed bump far less significant. With this in mind Tenma set aside any hesitations she might have had and made her move which, to her contentment, was a perfect success as the string settled in its formation between her fanned out hands. Rhaim opened his eyes to find that he had done the deed to standard and held it back towards Tenma who also seemed to have no challenge with the device. More than likely she had failed the first attempt on purpose in order to make him feel better in case he ended up not being good at it at all. Or she could have been trying to gauge his reaction to see if he would try and exploit her weakness to win. Then again the boy still didn't know how one was supposed to win at the game they were playing. As far as he could tell it was simply a feat of driving yourself to a hand cramp!
Once he looked over the string in her hands again he closed his eyes and sank his own hands back into the thread. "So what do you think of the family? I told you they were easily exciteable."

It was nice to see that Rhiam was having no problems with the task at hand. Then again, it really shouldn’t be that difficult for an above average shinobi. However, it did seem that Tenma was having quite a deal of difficulty with the training. Once more as the girl made an attempt at gripping the x’s. After they were relinquished from Rhiam’s hands a limp loop of string encompassed the girl’s wrists yet again and she was, yet again, put to reforming the box. As she slipped the various sections of string around her fingers, Tenma heard Rhiam and looked up to acknowledge his conversation. “Yes, they are quite excitable, which is quite odd for me. But, to be honest, I adore your family. Your sisters are full of energy and they are very kind. Your mother, I do not know what to say about her…she is such an openly loving woman, more so than I have ever experienced. Though they pick on you, favor has been shown to you and your family.” With a slight reassuring nod Tenma gave Rhiam another smile. It was true, less than an hour with them and she was infatuated with the energy that they carried about themselves. Cat's Cradle Everyone should know this classic game played with a piece of string. Rhaim had found that by opening his eyes in between each new try was still making the task much too easy. The way that the strings had to be held and pulled never changed. Which meant that the only challenging task left was to find those strings in the first place. With that in mind Rhaim decided not to open his eyes at all anymore. He would simply try and rely on remembering how far out from her body Tenma usually held the string and at what height. When it sounded like the string had stopped sliding against itself he reached his hands out towards where he believed the 'cradle' to be.
"Yeah they love girls. If you were a boy we probably would have eaten leftovers and you might have met mom. Maybe. My sisters only bring boyfriends that they don't like home. They don't date them for much longer after that."

Now Rhiam wasn’t even bothering to look. Oh well, he apparently had this figured out and that wasn’t exactly difficult enough for him. With a slight change in thought pattern, Tenma began to appreciate the fact that he was so intent on making any training difficult for himself. She normally wouldn’t have expected such self-motivation from a Nara; then again, he had practically, literally, trained himself through the academy. All of this traversed through her mind as she absently looked at the string and looped her selected x’s around the edges. With a successful cradle complete Tenma held it out for Rhiam’s turn, though not moving it from where it had been on his previous attempts. “Well, I supposed they at least have an effective method that they can go to and that is quite comforting to know.” There was a slight chuckle as she thought of what horrors might have befallen her if she was indeed a male. No, it was too much to fathom. “Have you heard anything about the ceremonies tomorrow? I am a little uneasy not having heard anything.” Cat's Cradle Everyone should know this classic game played with a piece of string. You have to grab the X's to make the next cradle. Rhaim waited for Tenma to finish speaking before he went to try and grab the string again. His eyes were still shut and his head had begun to dip downward. Though he was certain that it didn't take much time for her to reset it everytime, he didn't want to take the chance that she could be moving it while speaking and hit her in the face or something. From what little he could tell both of them were making good progress on the game. However he still couldn't understand how it would ever become the activity of choice on a lazy day. A nap would easily be ten times as good.
"I think we go to the Meadows like usual. Then I guess that Zephyr guy will do the ceremony. It must not be a big deal. I think only two of my sisters had real ceremonies where family came and clapped and stuff. The rest were just 'here you go, good job' events. I think that's what we're getting."

Another success for Rhiam was nice to see, but Tenma was getting sick and tired of messing up. Again she had managed to grab the wrong side of the x’s and there was a loop of string encasing her wrists, which was just a touch frustrating. However, she was having a difficult time understanding that, unlike her grandmother used to, Rhiam wasn’t turning and twisting the form in order to make her mess up. Yes, good old grandmother Fujiko was always good for a trick if not a meal. “I see.” Her eyebrows furrowed slightly as she got the string caught around one of her fingers, though it didn’t take long for her to right things out. “I have never attended any of these ceremonies, so this will be a new experience for me. I assume you have attended for your sisters, which would also explain why you know the happenings, yes?” Cat's Cradle Everyone should know this classic game played with a piece of string. Rhaim had his hands caught in the string for a moment as Tenma tucked in incorrectly again. He simply held his hands out and waited for her to fix the issue and then sat still while she set the box again. He nodded his head slightly at her question.
"Just the two that had ceremonies. Which would be the one just younger than me. And the... um... mature... one."
His face twisted about awkwardly as he searched for the way to describe his rather well endowed sister. He wasn't awkward about her or her chest per say, but it was still kind of awkward to try and explain that to Tenma. At any rate he shook his head of the thoughts and reached his hands in towards the string to try and make the cradle again.

Completely intent on her task, Tenma practically glared at the strings as she tried to remind herself that Rhiam wasn’t there to trick her. With an uneasy confidence the girl gripped the x’s and claimed the string as her own. With the shape pulled taunt on her fingers another smile slipped onto her face as she held it for Rhiam. It was amazing how patient he was being with her, then again, maybe that was what “families” did. “Oh, you mean the one with the spikes, yes? So her and the eldest…I believe it was the eldest that was telling me to “hurry up and become an ANBU so that we could ‘hang out’.” Tenma couldn’t help but giggle slightly at how difficult it was for Rhiam to describe his sister. The child understood why, but it was still amusing to watch. Cat's Cradle Everyone should know this classic game played with a piece of string. You have to grab the X's to make the next cradle. Rhaim was rather confident that he had the idea of the game down well enough that he could teach his youngest sister how to do it. Then again she was at least just as smart as he was, if not smarter. The boy opened his eyes and looked down at the device and placed his hands through the strings in position to pull on them. He then cocked his head slightly and switched his hands around so that his leftwas doing what his right was supposed to do and vice versa.
"Yeah she does wear alot of weird stuff. But she finds the best deals on clothes. The two oldest are ANBU and the next one is going through a probationary period to join. That's kind of where we all end up I guess. Dad was there, so was mom, and all the girls seem to want to be there. Dunno why."

At this point Tenma had noticed that, not only had he completed his portion of the task, but he was also doing extras. Now she was just holding him back, then again he had yet to mess up. However, the girl wasn’t far behind because, with the string now formed between her hands, she only had to complete her half two more times. It was far easier than with her grandmother because she didn’t have to worry about it suddenly shifting to an incorrect hold while her grandfather temporarily distracted her – they had made a spectacular team, her grandparents that is. “Well, I supposed her style if more unique than it is weird; I have heard of people dressing like that before.” When Rhiam began talking about how all of them became ANBU it made her pause and wonder if it was really her place to ask. He was, more or less, her teammate and it wasn’t like she would be pushing him one way or another, she was just curious. “Is that what you want, to become an ANBU? Or does your interest lie elsewhere?” Cat's Cradle Everyone should know this classic game played with a piece of string. You have to grab the X's to make the next cradle. Rhaim was content that his little experiment was a success and he really didn't feel like continuing to find more weird ways to do the game. So instead he simply slid his hands into the string and pull it through normally so as to set it up for Tenma to try again. Even though the game was easy and he didn't quite understand the point of it, it somehow made just sitting and talking with her much easier. He didn't have to think about how he should be sitting or what he should be doing with his hands. They both were concentrated on the string and therefore had a common ground of sorts. The boy shrugged at her question.
"I dunno. I guess it's what I'll do. Why, what do you want to do?"

Tenma listened, slightly perplexed, as the boy casually explained his situation. Why would someone simply succumb to the conformities of their family just like the person before them? If they did then they would never learn who they really were or follow their own path. It was practically tragic what was happening in this community, but it wasn’t her place to say and, even though she was just a child, Tenma understood that delicate balance of being a guest and a pest. However, as this tumbled around in her head, Tenma managed to grip the x’s incorrectly and had to wind them back around her fingers in the appropriate manner so that Rhiam could have yet another try at it. “I am not sure what I would like to do, but I will know it when I see it. One must always keep their opinions open. So, if your family was not a factor in your decision, what would you do with your life?” It was odd being so comfortable with a person that these questions just flowed. Who would have known that she would run into a friend so early on in her “solo” endeavor. Cat's Cradle Everyone should know this classic game played with a piece of string. Rhaim watched as Tenma turned the string into a sloppy mess and then took it from him to reset it once again. He wondered why she kept holding it up for him to do as well instead of just making him hold it until she got it down. He didn't bother thinking about it too much since she obviously knew more about the game than he did. Her question caught him off gaurd and he tipped his head to the side again as he made another attempt at the box of string. He shrugged his shoulders once again as he set it up in his own hands.
"I dunno. I never thought about not having a family. I guess I'd do whatever someone needed me to do."
