[[I don't know, I rather liked that post!]]

From the moment Felincia saw the mansion she was never relaxed. So close! She was truly with a werewolf! And, she realized, she had no methods of conducting this information to the Keepers. She also realized, with a jolt that would have made her human self feel awful (but cats are too proud to be worried for long) that none of the Keepers really knew that she was out. She had told Jesute she was going to practice being a cat, but being given a tour of Werewolf Mansion hadn't been part of her plans.
Still, this was a very welcome opportunity and she intended on making the best of it. Her catty self was very happy to be entering somewhere warm, and the bowl of milk she was given tasted delicious. Her human self was extremely happy to observe all exits and entrances, the doors, the rooms, and the residents. And this girl said she was the leader! How incredible! But, remembering that her instincts told her this girl was hundreds of years old in age and experience, it made sense. So did the comment about the "little miss" her tracking device had caught. ('Wish I had a tracking device now...')
Jerry interrupted her thoughts.
"Did you hear? Tests on us cats? How could they hope to make us any more perfect than we are?"
"Not on us,"
Felincia corrected. "With us. They're turning mice into cats."
"Waste of a good meal,"
Jerry commented, licking one paw and using it to wash his ears.
For some reason, Felincia didn't want Jerry to know that she was a Keeper, so - trusting instinct again - she said nothing else.
She instead jumped onto the girl's lap and kneaded her paws on the girl's tights, hoping that the girl would mention what was the "something better" she thought the Keepers could come up with was.

Abby felt the paw a her tights. "I've been up for nights trying to figure it out. I've been living in here lately," she set the binder back on the desk. "Luckily kids have a lot of energy. Otherwise I'd be a very tired adult," she began to pet the new cat. Abby yawned and covered her mouth with a hand.

"Do you have any ideas?" she asked the cat. "They probably want to combine themselves with tigers or lions," she thought mildly. She really hoped that they did not do that. It would make fighting them a lot tougher.

Abby took out a little leather book. It was old and sat in the drawer to her left. It had a string to keep it closed, but the string was old and thin. She opened it up a page, like many others, that was yellowed with age. It had a detailed drawing of a majestic looking wolf. Beside the wolf was a man with a long beard that that was tied with a cord and who wore clothing of a nobleman. A scar ran down his cheek.

"That's my papa," she told the cat on her lap. "He was killed when I really was nine. That was a long time ago, but the last thing he did was turn me. I don't remember if it was Keepers or Vampires that killed him, but he died," she told them in whisper-like voice. She never really talked about her father with any of the people in the pack. Most of them had a better memory of her father than she did.

She continued to pet the cat. "What do you think Jerry?" she looked at the brown tabby. "This kitty still needs a name." She put the book back in the drawer after tying the string back around it.

Felincia giggled inside herself. 'How ironic it would be if she named me "Felincia"!' But, reasoning with herself, she didn't want that. It might make the werewolf suspicious about the cat currently sitting on her knees.
As Felincia curled up the girl's knees and began purring louder. She couldn't help it; these wolves just looked so much like humans when they were - well, human. But she reminded herself, these were barbaric animals. Dangerous to human kind. We need to protect the humans from these bloodthirsty savages. Sayings like these had practically been her bedtime prayers Felincia's whole life.
Felincia also giggled at the thought of combining humans with wildcats. 'If only we had the resources!' But she knew that tampering with dangerous beasts like that would involve other departments of the Keepers - departments no one truly liked at all. Still, maybe if she could pull a few strings... Cats are pretty good at pulling strings...
And despite purring so much, Felincia's human mind was uneasy. It had just occurred to her - if this was the werewolf leader, it was quite likely that she had been the one leading the raid in the lab, and therefore was the one Felincia had shot her weapons at. Crap, Felincia had watched her tear a Keeper's throat out. Even if that had been some subordinate captain and not the leader herself, it was still likely that that particular werewolf was here, with her, in this mansion. A fact that made her uneasy.
One last thing grabbed her concentration. The girl's father. Obviously the previous leader of the werewolves. She couldn't remember whether it was humans or vampires who had killed him. She'd have to look that up as soon as she got home.
That's when she remembered. She didn't know how she was going to get home.

"She wants to name you," Jerry said, as though she hadn't heard.
"How am I supposed to tell her what my name is?" Felincia asked, still purring under the girl's stroking hand.
"Try staring her down with those gorgeous eyes of yours," Jerry said in a flirtatious manner. ('Tomcats,' Felincia thought.) "Maybe something will hit her."
Felincia did as he suggested. She turned her face upwards and blinked lovingly at the girl, showing her eyes clearly before closing them with pleasure. Perhaps it was being an animal half the time herself that made the little leader such a good cat-petter.

"I think you would like a more human name," Abby told the cat. She kept looking at the cat. the more she did the less cat-like it seemed. "Maybe you are what the keepers are trying to do. Maybe they are going to turn themselves into cats," she said. The idea hit her like cold water. That made sense. "But you still need a name," she told the cat becoming worried now.

Suddenly the binders made more sense for being so early. The idea changed sometime along the way. Abby picked up her fountain pen, a relic of days much farther back, and wrote a note to herself on a pad of paper.

She thought for a moment. "What about the name Felicia?" she asked. She personally did not like the name particularly, but it was a pretty good fit. 'Felicia,' Abby thought to herself. She had heard a similar name recently, but could not place where.

Abby's thoughts began to trail off. She got down from the chair, dislodging the cats, and went over to the leather couch. when she was just in front of it, she changed her form into the large lack wolf with the white chest. She curled up on the sofa and looked at the cats. "Can you understand me?" she asked them. She had never tried speaking to cats as a wolf before.

'She did NOT!'
Felincia could not stifle the equivalent of a laugh. It sounded like "Mrrrrrrrrt!" but had the same pleasurable effect. The werewolf had just labeled her by her human name! It was just too perfect! It also seemed to make the werewolf suspicious, but Felincia hoped that she would just assume she had been thinking about the binders for too long. Her name was inside each of the binders several times, anyway. Especially the last one she had given the werewolves.
Besides, there was no resemblance between her has a human and her now. In her cat form, she lived with the DNA of the cat she had obtained it from. That meant she looked, smelled, and generally behaved like that cat (except for human thinking, thankfully).
Then the girl turned into a wolf. Felincia's cat self was unimpressed.
"So that's why she smells like dogs," said Jerry. He thought about it for a minute, then said, "Still, she's a good sort."
'Good sort, indeed.' Felincia ignored her ignorant friend and yawned openly at the werewolf as it transformed. No dog would bother this cat.
Her human mind took over for a minute to send her a flash newscast: this was the werewolf from her lab! The leader of the werewolves, THE top dog, had personally led a raid on her lab!
'Is my chemistry that effective? Wow...'
She couldn't help being honored. But at the same time, she was a little scared of facing this beast again.
So she let her cat-self take over.
"Can you understand me?" the wolf asked, curled on the sofa.
Felincia waited to see what Jerry would do. He stepped toward the cat and meowed loudly.
"Of course we can, you silly creature, but you can't understand us!" He looked back at Felincia. "Will the others" - meaning non-cats - "ever understand that? We cats are the things of deities! We are perfect. We rule all in our distant way. 'Can you understand me', indeed." He then began purring and rubbing his head against the wolf's front paws. Felincia swiftly followed his example.

"Your hardly a deity yourself Jerry," Abby replied with the older wolf voice. She gave a much more regal presence as a wolf than as a human. "If i remember correctly, I first found you trapped in a trash can. Hardly a deity indeed," she recounted. Cats sometimes needed to be put in their place. with Jerry, it was all in love.

"And what do you mean I smell of dog? I'm no dog! Wolves are wild! I would never dream of doing the things I do in this body with my other one. It makes me sick to think about it," she said looking down at the cats as she crossed her paws. Her wolf body was large and took up most of the couch.

Felincia fell off the couch when she heard the wolf respond to Jerry. "Fang and blood!" she swore in cat-speak. Werewolves can understand cat! This was going to make things more difficult. She had to get out of here and tell the Keepers... at her leisure, of course, her cat-self said.
Then she giggled, making her "Mrrrrrt" sound.
"Did she really capture you in a trash can, Jerry?"
Jerry scowled, laid his ears back, and attacked viciously at the werewolf's paws. Well, not viciously, more like playfully.
Felincia turned her attention to the wolf herself.
"You said you would never dream of doing things you do with this body with your other one. What do you mean, mistress? What things?" When the wolf appeared hesitant to answer, Felincia rubbed her muzzle and rolled luxuriously on the little space that was left of the sofa. "Only curiosity, mistress. And gratitude for the delicious bowl of milk. Tell me how I can help you."
"Or 'on't,"
Jerry said, his voice muffled by the huge paws he was trying to chew to pieces. "'Oesn't ma'er 'o us."

"I did not capture him, I rescued him," she told Felicia. She remembered how scrawny and little Jerry was. His eyes looked huge and he was soaked in water. His fur was flung up like a mohawk.

"I...I've killed people. I can rip out their throats with my teeth," she said. "The paws that Jerry is trying to gnaw off can rip open many big iron locks in a swipe," she explained.

She lifted the paw that Jerry was not occupied with. The pads on the bottom were thick and the nails were long and sharp. Th long fur that draped down from her leg added a bit of an elegant look. She was a dangerous killing machine as long as she was a wolf. Her human form could kill too, but that form regarded life more highly than her wolf one did.

It was how she was raised though. She had never really been a human. She had always lived with werewolves. When she was first turned, they took her hunting and taught her how to kill. She could never turn back right away however. The raw meat never sat right.

Felincia paused for a moment to clean under her tail, but when her human mind realized what she was doing she stopped. Sitting straight, she stared at the wolf with the clouded eyes of a cat - eyes deep with knowledge but clouded over with smugness. "Then why kill if it upsets you? Who is such a threat to you? Why do they threaten you? Cats live a very special way: we claim a bit of land for our own, which we defend to the last. But only foolish or ambitious cats tread paws on claimed land when they have no cause to tread there. That is the greatest threat: a sign of attempted conquest. But you seem to tread repeatedly upon other's turf - why? What do you expect to gain?"
Jerry nodded, agreeing with her. Felincia was shocked at how easily the cat within was taking over, but the words seemed to have done the trick.

"This was my father's land," Abby snarled. "He was here before any of the humans that are here now. I've been here for over five hundred years myself. All of my pack lives here with me on this land that was ours when kings, so old humans have so little recorded of them they have a name at best, gave it to us. My father was a noble, titled, and has more claim to this land than any person off the street could hold against him. Being the only heir, that right is now mine," she explained angrily.

Abby was fuming by now and leaped from the sofa, landing on human feet. She stormed over to the desk, her long straight black hair trailed behind her. She had abnormal speed right now and seemed much less human than before. She grabbed her fountain pen and forced herself to write. Writing anything helped calm her down.

It was one of the things that upset her about being a werewolf. Whenever she got truly angry her wolf self told her to destroy. Her human self told her not to destroy. It was a tear in her personality. It was harder to maintain control. She forced herself to put the pen to the paper and write more, as meaningless as the words she wrote were. Her hand shook whenever it left the paper.

Felincia decided it was way past time to be getting home. She leapt off the bed and darted toward a corner, her tail kept low and her ears kept back. Even Jerry kept his distance, letting the females in the room regain their composure.
Felincia paused to think. So the werewolves were given this land by kings? She would have to check Keeper records about that one.
The girl wrote on her paper long into the night. Finally, Felincia couldn't stand it any more. Firstly, she needed to get home before the Keepers attacked the mansion trying to find her. And more importantly, she needed to make dirt.
Cats insist on making dirt on dirt, and in private.
Felincia sat at the study door and meowed.
Jerry was the first to look at her.
"You want out?"
Felincia almost nodded, then caught herself ('Cats never nod!'). "If you get a chance to speak with her before I do, will you tell her I'm sorry?" Again, her accursed weakness for other's feelings.
Jerry blinked his eyes at her in agreement. Felincia pawed the door and meowed again.

Abby looked up with angry eyes for a moment. Then she realized what was going on. She got up and looked at the clock. It was getting close to midnight now. "Sorry," she told the cats as she opened the door. She led them to the front and opened the main door. "Here you go," she said and let them out. Jerry nudged her boot before darting off.

Abby closed the door and went up to her room. She was tired and wanted to sleep. Maybe she would feel better in the morning. Being with the cats had dug up emotions that she had kept away for a long time.

In truth that she learned,
or the times that he cried

Evangeline hobbled her way into the lab. They were still repairing it from the raid. If she had been there and never been injured, she would have been able to help. Chances were that she would never have set foot into the lab if it were not for her injury though.

Evangeline was still quite bitter. "Move that rubble," she told one of the trainees. Her voice was not harsh, but rather soft in comparison to her personality. The trainee moved the bit that was blocking her path. She had become good at maneuvering herself on her crutches. She managed to slip through people with relative agility.

"Have I been granted onto the project I asked for?" she asked the supervisor when she reached him. He was a family friend of hers and knew ow much she generally disliked not being able to fight.

He looked at her for a moment. It still gave him a shock to see Evangeline on her crutches. "Yes, you have. I'm not sure where Felincia is though," he replied. "She should be here somewhere though."

"Excellent," Evangeline said. As long as she was going to be trapped in a lab for forever, did not mean that she had to be completely unhappy.

Felincia looked momentarily at the door the werewolf had just closed, thinking. Then she turned to Jerry. "Thank you, my friend. I must go. Before I do, I would like to see you again, and her. Is there somewhere I could meet you?"
Jerry narrowed his eyes at her lovingly. "I'm always at the feeding hills you found me at today. I'll be waiting there, gorgeous."
'He calls the dumpster the feeding hills? Ugh!'
Felincia flicked an ear in recognition, then batted his ear viciously with her sheathed claws. She flicked the end of her tail flirtatiously as she left, then ran into a bush. It was time to make dirt.
Getting back to the lab, she snuck back in by the window, transformed, changed into her clothes, and ran out to the secretary desk. "Hey Jesute, sorry about that. I was practicing being a cat, and you'll never believe what happened!" She pulled short, seeing that Jesute was in the midst of assisting someone she recognized. "Hey!" she said pleasantly. "Eve, what're you doin' here?"

"P.T. said I could have a life again. I immediately thought of you," Evangeline joke. It was a bit of a joke among Keepers that the lab technicians had no life. "Since I can't go back to my old work," she gestured as she leaned heavily on one of her crutches, "I'm here from now on."

Eve looked around the room. "So what exactly did I miss here?" she asked. "I know there was a werewolf raid, but not precisely what happened," she told Felincia. Eve had heard a few different versions, but most of the keepers had been locked out until the very last bit. That part was heavily agreed upon. Werewolves got slaughtered.

"I also want to know what you are doing with this project they were so keen on getting. Must be pretty important," she was curious about what was happening. The hospital had kept her in physical therapy trying to get her to walk again. The most she could do was get around on her crutches. They were the kind that had the ring near her elbow so that she could lean on them and have a free hand.
