I've been contemplating the news of Voltaire's upcoming release for a few days now, and I'm not entirely thrilled at the aspect.
Early information released on the new album seemed promising, and Voltaire's business approach to the release (secret development, his face isn't on the album art, etc.) shows a certain maturity I've found lacking in his work recently.
However, as more information on the album was released and I heard a few songs, I'm really luke-warm to the release. It sounds like he's doing "Ooky Spooky"-style covers of songs cut from "Devil's Bris", which leaves it of low-potential in my mind.

God Thinks is especially great because he doesn't insult any religions or political parties in particular. Not that I don't believe in free speech, but it's something I respect.

I found out about Voltaire not long ago. I really love his style. My favorite song is "Vampire club". I wish i would see him live but he would never come to Egypt.

I've heard more from "Bottom of the Sea", and I must say-
Yeah, it sucks almost as bad as "Ooky Spooky".

I wouldn't use that phrase specifically, but I would go so far as to say that he appears to be in the middle of a mid-life crisis. His music, visual arts, and behaviors (as reflected online, at least) seem to scream "I'm not old! Look at how not old I am! Listen to how not old my music sounds!".

I feel pretty lame saying that my favorite song is the vampire club. anyway, I listened to more. I like the uncut version of "cantina" it's shockingly hilarious. I listened to some tracks from "to the bottom of the sea", It's not that good or that bad, but I liked "Death, Death".

As discussed on previous pages, a number of Voltaire songs are mislabeled on P2P services. You may want to be more discerning of your sources, just for safety's sake.

I love Cantina, and all of his Star Trek songs. I'm a dork, and they make me happy. I also adore Vampire Club, and anything on his CD Almost Human.
