His smile widened even more as he nodded in anticipation. "Alright...I'll pick you up. Wear whatever you feel prettiest in..which if left up to me would be literally anything..." He had a slight blush playing on his cheek as he tried to cover up the awkwardness.

"...Thank you Kitty...I'll see you tommorrow..." His smile softened as he leaned forward, kissing her cheek ever so softly, ever so lightly before pulling back, bowing slightly like a gentleman, then tuning to leave.

Though what she also didn't know was how outside her shop, just down a bit, 'Nathan' was on the phone.

"...Yeah...so this isn't going to be as easy as I thought..." He sighed into the receiver as he made his way down the cold streets.
"Well Boss is getting impatient..." A gruff voice replied on the other end.
"Tell him I've found it, and I'll have it to him soon hopefully..."
"Hopefully isn't a legit answer 'Mr. Da'Rhodes'...If you've found the book, whats stopping us from going ahead and killing you now, and just taking the book with force?" The voice asked threateningly as Nathan furrowed his brow.

"Well first of all...Sure, you could do that. It does seem a hell of a lot easier... But as always you fail to see the consequences of your hasty action. If you kill me off, despite the universe losing its greatest thespian and lover, no one will really know nor notice I'm gone...except me of course..." Samson could hear the disgust in the other mans snicker in reply to his little comment. "But if you make a ruckus like you're planning to get this silly book...people will notice. If nay harm comes to this girl or this store, it will be brought to the public's eye believe me... And we both know thats something you and you're 'Boss' just cant affoard right now. So why dont you let me do what you paid me to do, and retrieve this book silently and skillfully. Hm?" He spoke confidently, though really felt a tad uneasy.

After a long, unbearable silence, the voice finally agreed. "Fine. You have 2 weeks max...Oh and 'Nathan'? ...Dont screw up...." Click.
The conversation ended as Samson let out a huge sigh. She rubbed the back of his head, stopping int the middle of the street to think. How was he going to pull this one off?.... He assured himself that just like the rest...it'd go without a hitch.

Samson, being a man of many connections, had a full night planned, full of glamor and sparkle to dazzle Kitty and hopefully get her to trust him a bit more so he could somehow get the book in a round about way since the forward approach didn't seem to be an option.

He came into the pretty empty bookstore, wearing a sharp suit, though it looked more recreational than business. Like he wanted to make a statement instead of close a business deal.

Though once he caught sight of Kitty, he stopped short, thought caught himself. "...Wow..." Was all he could really say, taking her in with a soft smile on his face before he shook it off. "Y-you look....wow..." He breathed, and chuckled awkwardly, his cheeks pink.

He straightened up a bit, acting the part of a true gentleman. "The night is ours...Now let us hurry, the limo is waiting..." He winked holding out his elbow to her.

Really she was very stunning, though Samson knew he had to keep his cool. He had to make sure it was Nathan out in the fore an not himself.

The next morning, Jess had awoken in Alex's arms, a strange sensation surging through her as she simply watched him sleep for a moment. It was familiar yet completely unfamiliar at the same time.

Though she knew she couldn't lie there all day, despite how badly she wanted to.

It was rather early, and she knew she had to be on her way to meet with Kitty and see if she could stay with her. But she didnt want to wake Alex.

So easing herself out of his loving hold, she gathered her purse and shoes, though left him a sweet note thanking him for letting her stay, and telling him he should just relax and she'd call him later, and even make it up to him for letting her stay.

She also put on a little lip gloss and left him a sweet, pink kiss on his cheek for him to find when he awoke.


after that it was hardly any time at all before Jess was entering the bookstore, dragging a bit since she hadnt changed or fixed herself up from awaking in Alex's apartment. She did however manage to grab a breakfast bagel and give Kitty a heads up before coming all the way down there.


"Kitty? you here?" She called with a tired but pleasant smile as she attempted to not look like a mess, hair all crazy and a half eaten bagel balanced with her purse and another bag or three.

It was very different form the usual Jess, and she felt good about it.

She laughed a little, flipping her hair back out of her face as she set her things down for a second.

"Yes I'm fine in a way..." She sighed with a chuckle. "And you did now? I'm going to need details." She winked. "Though for the moment...I need a place to stay?" She winced as she looked to her friend with tired eyes.

"We had a mini family fall out at home bout various things... and in short I just need a place to stay long enough for me to find my own...And since you're like one of my only really good and amazing friends..." She hated just dumping this on her, though she did need a place to stay.

"Um, yes and no..." She sighed with a smile. "He was brought up, but I assured them I was 22 years old, old enough to decide who i date nad what I do with my time. It was really a matter of schooling to be honest...He just came up because dad think he's a distraction..."

She knew Kitty must have connected herself to all of this. It wasnt her fault though, not in the least bit.
"But its all fine I promise...I just need to shop around and find a small place...I've been saving up some of my own money so...." She shrugged.
"It wont be permanent I promise." She added wit ha smile. "I could even pay you for letting me stay here..." She made sure to note.

Jess sat her bags down with a thump, smiling and nodding, looking around. "Its absolutely lovely! Kitty you're just wonderful you know that?" She gave her friend a hug, knowing none of her other 'friends' would let her crash at their places. which was fine with her. She was starting to pull away form the party scene thanks to Alex , so staying with them might not help at all.

"I've seen how you do things for the sot part...I think with just a pointer or two i could jump in and get working." She smiled , pulling back from the hug.
"I've just got one more bag in the speeder, and I've got to get cleaned up a bit..." She combed through her tussled hair with her fingers, grimacing. "But then I'll be right and ready to help!" She smiled, actually feeling pretty good about all this.

She was getting the chance to be independent for the first time. She didn't really know why she had waited so long to do so... well actually she did, but her subconscious wouldn't allow her to know.
