Ooh, that's a good question. You might be a bit better at that process, coming up with decent enemies to test, but I need practice. I guess I could give it a shot, with a some guidance from you since this IS just testing out stuff.

I guess I gotta be a giantess too, heh... Unless we're gonna come up with some kinda system for scientists, though I imagine we should take things one step at a time.

Okay, here's my first bit of attempt at a character:

Well, I'd assume they'd have a bit of a setup like this:

How about we'll just run the game as is, and see where it takes us? I'll GM, until we run into major hindrances, and then balance out from there? Also, while we're running the monster stuff, i can work out some systems on the scientists part, thereby killing three birds with one stone. I'll see if there's balancing issues, people can join in as they want, and I can test out the scenario generation. If and when I get the latter half up and running, you can either stay with your monster, or change to a scientist.

I'll also be whipping up a patch sheet and a true formalized "Core book" that can be used with the rest of the game.

Wow you've been busy! Just read through that guidebook, and that is one smexy guidebook I must say. Only thing I found slightly confusing was the size bonus/penalty thing. I assume grapple bonus is applied to damage dealt. I get that it's not the monster's actual sizes, but the DIFFERENCE in sizes that determines bonuses, but the table should probably made to reflect that for clarity, instead of listing the bonuses beside each size category, so it'd read:

Grapple bonus is something i haven't attempted to do yet, but basically, the grapple bonus is "how well you can grab and hold onto your opponent". You basically take a -5 to your attack roll (melee, obviously), and it does no damage. Obviously, you can't grapple anything more than one size larger than yourself.

Successful grapples reduce a monster maiden's attack roll by -2 until broken free.


And yes, i stole mine out of the book. but i'll rework it to something like yours though.


What do you think about my idea though? I'll gm, you guys can work on perfecting the monsters? Meanwhile, I'll continue test balancing some concepts with handlers.

Ah, okay. That makes sense, then, with grappling, and now I wonder why I thought it was damage-related.

Also, I'm pretty much loving everything I see here. I'm kinda guessing that the GM will set things like difficulty in stealing specific pieces of information on a case-by-case basis.

I'm also guessing that you'd only have to DC for operating vehicles until you get a successful roll, since you're not likely to suddenly forget how to drive that tank you just hijacked the other day. I suppose each scientist will have a mastered vehicles/mounts list or something.

You can pick any kind of skill, but different 'classes' of handlers receive different amounts to the skills they can learn.

Like a scientist may learn a bunch of skills, but only a few feats. A soldier, conversely, is better with feats, than actual skills.

In a way, skills are more like out of combat details, while feats will be gearing towards in combat capacities.

And talents... they'll be like "buffs", of sorts.



AS for DC checks, you're right. Gathering info about porn will be like a DC 5, versus the top secret plans to the new anti-monster missile, which is DC 25. Or disabling security at area 51, DC 40...

And lastly, for the tank thing, there is a branch of things called "knowledge-military", which you can use a knowledge check against military vehicles to lower piloting difficulties. Driving a tank is a DC 10, but that's driving. To learn how to fire the weapon or something, that'll be harder. It's easier to just drive a vehicle than it is to fully operate, so there's a difference in things. but i digress.

Honestly, I think things are looking pretty golden thus far. Seriously, I get more impressed with what you've done, even if a lot of it is taken from books, with every update.

Ironically, the handlers have a lot more to focus on than monster maidens. But to me, it seems all the better because during fights, the handlers won't have much to do unless they're actively involved. Though, i'm almost feeling sympathetic towards the monster maidens now...

But eh. I'll start setting up the subforum as we speak, so you can come up with your character and whatnot.
