Kyoma smiled at Haruko, and at the sparrow named Rei. "Thanks so much, Haru-chan!" She looked to Rei, bowing in thanks, "I'll make sure to repay you." She then turned to the village, punching upward with her right fist, as if trying to hit the sky. "Let's go!"

Haruko nodded, "Yes, lets go then, I see you later Rei." She waved goodbye to her sparrow before making her way up the road to her village.

Death entered into the meadow, very late. He had been stopped by some construction workers on the way. They wanted to know how wide the new road systems should be and how far apart the buildings should be spaced. They asked more questions and even had Death help them do a little work. Now, Death finally got to where he wanted to be... sorta.

"Where is everybody?!" Death could obviously tell that no one was in the Meadow, yet he believed for some reason that if he looked through the grass, people might just pop out. He searched and called Kyoma's name.

"Woah! It talks?" Death was a bit surprised. He had seen companion animals before, but none that talked, that was usually just summon creatures. But perhaps this was a permanent summon, like Death's old friend, Flagenza. But they didn't talk... well, Puff talked. Whatever, Death was confusing himself now. "Thanks," he replied to the bird. "Why do I have the feeling this is going to take a while...?" Death walked back through the South Gate and headed for the library.

Kasai stopped, breathing hard, in the meadow. He had ran the whole way to get his Wakizashi and ran all the way here and seemed to still beat his senesi. Sitting down to catch his breath, Kasai finished strapping the Wakizashi and their sheaths to his legs and checked his ninja tool bag, taking note of the tools he had. Kasai was almost shaking with anxiety, so he decided to try to calm his thoughts.

Haruko and Rei flew after Kenji as quick as they can but because of his head start and the rope thing, they were now, very behind. Speeding over the village, they almost reached the gate when Haruko spotted Kenji's running figure in the distance. 'D***, seems he's already past the gate and into the meadow, that cheater.'

Flying over the gate, Haruko and Rei soon reached the area where Kenji and Kenshi were. Haruko spotted Kenji bent over and breathing heavily, most likely not paying attention to his surroundings so Haruko took this as the perfect opportunity for a comeback. Standing up, Haruko reached for her kusarigama with her right hand. Once she got her kusarigama in both hands, she jumped. Halfway down the fall, Haruko whipped one end of the chain around Kenji and prepared to kick him from behind as she fell.

Too busy panting to see much around him, Kenji was jsut about to lift his head up and look around for Haruko as he felt her chain wrap around him, the heavy pommel end slamming into his sternum just as Haruko kicked him from behind, pushing him down and landing on his back, burying his face into the high grass as he hit the dirt with a thump and an incredible amount of pain. All Kenji could do was remain motionless under Haruko's weight... not that she weighed that much, but the whole Kusarigama and kick to the back thing wasn't leaving him with much strength.

With his last bit of strength, Kenji angled his head up slightly, turning to Haruko with a strained smile as he spoke through the pain burning in his body and lungs. "I...won..." , was all he managed to say before his head fell to the ground again.

Kasai had watched the incident at first with amusement, but once Haruko-sensei had hit Kenji-sensei he became worried. Running over to them he stared at Kenji-sensei in shock, picturing himself in his place. The oncoming fight was not going to be fun. Haruko-sensei snapped him out of his trance, though. "Oh, right," he told Haruko-sensei, "Let's get started."
