"Well since noone else wants to play I'll teach you how to play battle. Easy enough he both pull a card from the top of our deck." He produced two decks and handed one to Charles pleased that the corpse was wearing gloves so as not to damage them... Especially since those were trick cards that had slight markings on the back that Joshua had memorized. Shuffling his cards in a practiced way so he knew where all the high cards were he continued to explain the rules. "If my card is higher I get your card and my card back to put into my deck for the next round." Joshua went into a little more detail about the game before getting down to the part he loved best.
Leaning out the wagon to make sure that this time nobody would come in and interrupt. He spoke "Well since a game of cards is no fun without a wager... how would you feel about one hundred gold and the answer to any one question?" Had it been anyone else Joshua probably would have just gone with money bets but he was curious to know how this Entombed was different then the ones whom had tried to kill him.

Charles took the cards. "Simple enough, just place a card when it's the ample time to do so..." He held the cards carefully. He thought for a moment.
"I am afraid I do not follow," he started, "is it me who will be asking questions, or paying money?" He started to shuffle his deck.

"Depends on if you win! If you win I pay you and you get to ask a question and if I win you pay me and I get to ask a question." Joshua grinned at the man? "Simple" He thought staring at the back of Charles cards. "Let see a two three fours two Jacks and an ace." Joshua smiled the poor guy didn't have a chance.

"That would seem simple enough, but I have not a dime. People don't hire the deceased, but that's perfectly fine, as I don't need sustenance, or anything else."
(Joshua, was that a remark about the cards I didn't draw? Pretty sure you can't see through cards, here.)

OOC: In my last post he remarked about the cards being marked on the back so as long as he can see the back of your card he knows what your holding... but you havent drawn yet? Dang I just needed a post filler to make it longer
IC: "Well we don't need to gamble for money... how about a question and a favor than?" Joshua said. "Its no fun unless there is a wager..."

"I suppose that will settle it." Charles drew his hand and saw he was holding 2 4 4 4 J J A. Mm, and Ace... Might want to save that for a pinch, I will... He laid down a 4, grew a grin, and jested. "Beat that, sir."

To everyone else, it didn't seem to matter to them that a familiar person might be behind the whole thing. What ever happened to asking 'why' someone did a deed they might regret? What ever happened to trying to save a person's mind or soul when they've gone astray, and are obviously acting horridly out of character for themselves? Apparently, that kind of thought disappeared. There was only revenge in Alihi's mind after all.
Sue still told Andre to go forward. Even if no one else was looking, she would find Vika's reason, no matter what it took. "Of course..." she said out loud. "Who it is doesn't matter at all... what matters is defeating them..." And there it was, a lie. Sacaen nomads weren't supposed to lie, but to speak differently than them could get Sue sent back towards Eyris, leaving the only one with her mindset away from the party. Everyone here was in the mind to just go for the kill, she was sure.
But Vika... if it is you... a friend of FEF, I wll find the reason, no matter what.

Abel followed slightly behind Alihi. He didn't expect her to not be happy that he was there, with her. But it wouldn't be fair for her to go off, and... possibly not come back. He had already failed to keep Amara safe, Abel couldn't take the chance that something bad would happen to Alihi, especially when he had the capability of preventing it.
Maybe she was mad at him. After all, he was right there, and he couldn't do anything. She had full right to hate him. He wanted to walk up beside her, and just grab her, and hug her. He wanted to do something that would show her that he's sorry, and he would make up for it. ..But everything he thought of would have just made him look like more of a loser. For now... he figured he would just follow, and do his best, and try not to bother Alihi. The thought of just staying at Pentheus, when they got there, crossed his mind. But he would stay strong. He would protect her, even if she did hate him. Glancing back for a second, Deborah noticed that most of the group had chose to continue following them. There must have been around fifteen or so, now. ...That was larger than she wanted, but it would be okay. She also noticed that the river they had crossed must have now been way far behind them. She couldn't even see it anymore.
Turning back around, she understood why the river was no longer in site. Up ahead was the entrance to a large city. The smell of saltwater soon began to fill the air. The sounds of seagulls [shutup kurai] grew from simple faint echoes that traveled over the wind to nearby annoyances.
When the group reached the entrance, it was dark, and was only getting darker. Soon the only light aiding to sight would be the street lights. "We here." Deborah said, as she turned to the group. "Welcome teh Pentheus. Teh biggest port in Learania. We be spendin' deh night here." She pulled a small bag of gold coins from her pack. "I been provided wit deh means. Le's go."
She walked off to the biggest inn in the port city. She started talking to the innkeeper, and the man shook his head. Deborah set the bag of gold coins on the table. He was now nodding instead. A few moments later, she turned back to the group. "Dose wit mounts can keep dem in deh stable round back for deh night. Everyone bettah get a good amount o sleep. We leavin' early in deh mornin'. Tomorrow deh real mission begins."

There was no response from Marina. Seems like he had spoken for a good majority of the people here. The young lord sighed before walking past the former tactician. He had nothing more to say to her.
Time had passed. They had soon reached the port city of Pentheus just as the sky turned dark from the arrival of night. He had been here a few times over the course of the year, usually at the pub where he could get information from the barkeep. He was a nice bloke and usually had a good bit of intel, if you paid him some coin. Figures. Information was never cheap. But hey...whatever brought him one step closer to finding his father.
The dark-skinned woman had gone into an inn and paid for rooms for everyone. This was good news for the young lord. He wouldn't have to made any unnecessary expenditures. Roy reached out and took a room key from the woman and glanced at it. Room 106. Since everyone would have a roommate, he figured that he'd end up rooming with someone. As long as it was someone he knew, he'd be fine. The key was tossed in his bag and he nodded.
"I've got some business with a friend in town...so whoever I end up rooming with, if you're already asleep, I'll try not to wake you up when I get back." he said.
He tugged on his cloak once more, and he felt tiny feet on his shoulder. The little imp was awake now. The young lord smiled, glad that Darko was awake now, before he separated himself from the group and wandered alone down the street.

...Injured with pain and sadness, the you that cannot be healed Shoulder the burden of the past that cannot be erased; don't throw away your will to live...[ X ][ O ]Blossom[ O ][ X ] →Blossom drew her arms close to her body, shivering as nightfall came and the chill of moonlight cast over the group. She listened in silence as Deborah handled the business aspect of getting their rooms, adjusting the strap to her bag as she waited for the chocolate-skinned woman to finish.
Blue-grey eyes assessed the group. Various skills and personalities, all together to save Amara. Would they be enough? Would they be strong enough? Blossom shivered again and looked at her feet.
Where had Aidan said he would be traveling when he left? Did he even tell me? Blossom bit her lower lip, raising her eyes when Deborah instructed them to get some sleep. No... no, he didn't. Blossom nodded once, visibly straightening her spine and faking the sudden coldness with a yawn and by rubbing her right arm with her left hand, letting her eyes grow a little heavy. Blossom was silent as she collected a room key, silently thanking the innkeeper before trudging towards her room. Blossom's eyes were distant, body moving almost instinctively as she got inside her room and quietly let the latch click closed behind her.
Seeing the bed was enough to make the next yawn genuine as she carefully rested Vezra against the wall. Blossom's bag was placed down next to it, and at that point, she didn't even bother to take her boots off, much less her clothes. The little Hero merely curled up in her bed, letting the covers stay pulled up to the mattress' chin, and closed her eyes.
It was a twin bed, so even if Aidan was there, he wouldn't comfortably fit next to her. But still, Blossom curled up tightly around herself and tried to focus on rescuing Amara as her tired mind began to drift asleep. Be safe... everyone be safe, she thought, slowly relaxing. He would come home. Amara would come home. No one would die.
Blossom wouldn't know what to do if someone didn't return home.← You'd better forget everything. Remember. . . your different Life?XXX You'd better forget everything. Turned out the room given to Ephraim was a simple room that had two beds in the room. Boy, whoever he was rooming with he'd hope he or she was at least respective..not that it mattered. He sat himself down at the edge of the bed and placed his hat to his left. Ephraim for one was not that picky at all. It didn't seem he was worried about their trip..rather what he saw and what happened. Of all things..really? Ephraim didn't really quite understand it..and even though they had been walking for a good couple hours or so, he wasn't the bit tired at all.
His attention turned to the window which he was facing, trying to get himself to think about anything else other then that walk. "Ah!!" he gave up, Ephraim stood up, snatching his hat from the pillow and headed toward the door. Despite all the walking he already did, it was a bit surprising he didn't wanna kick off his boots and sleep. Whatever he brought with him was already in his room a small pouch with assorted items, spear included which sat alongside the wall.
Ephraim found himself leaning against the wall alongside the building, just outside of the entrance door. Not that he actually moved himself away from the inn. It didn't seem like anyone realized that he had been acting strange a few moments ago..then again, nobody was and whatever happened they assumed it to be as it is. He sighed, sitting himself down at the bench.

It wasn't that she was speechless. No one, not even a snooty noble, left Marina speechless. She had paused a moment, considering her words carefully. Despite the stories told around about Roy and his "legacy", this was not Elibe. However, about his father...that struck a nerve.
"Hm...h-hey, wait!" He'd already began to press past her, and she decided she'd corner him later. It was not worth the scene it was turning into. "My clothes are just fine, thanks," she said with a cough.
***
That done, she strode alongside the caravan in silence, not bothering to address anyone even if they decided to address her first. Not that it really mattered, her business was her own and she wouldn't divulge it to anyone anyway. When they got to their destination, Marina observed the individual members, looking specifically for Roy. He must have slipped out when she wasn't looking, though, so she instead focused her attention on the short girl, Blossom, who seemed to be distant as well. As hypocritical as it was, Marina didn't like that the girl was keeping to herself. (Her own personal justification was that Blossom seemed to be down on herself, while Marina herself was confident. So there.) She trailed Blossom on up to her room, rapped loudly on the door, and entered without much more warning. She smiled at Blossom, though it was hard to tell through the mask she wore over her mouth.
"Don't mind if I room here tonight, do you? I don't snore, promise." She threw her pack against the opposite wall and turned around. "I'm going to take a bath. Don't wait up."

...Injured with pain and sadness, the you that cannot be healed Shoulder the burden of the past that cannot be erased; don't throw away your will to live...[ X ][ O ]Blossom[ O ][ X ] →Blossom actually ended up falling asleep at some point shortly after getting in bed, and her chest was rising and lowering slowly as her body relaxed. Her curled position slowly unwound, her spine grew less tense, and eventually at least a semi-peaceful look came across Blossom's sleeping face.
However, as she heard someone knocking on her door, she stirred and pushed herself upright. She held her body up with one arm while using her other hand to rub at her eyes, and... hey, look who it is. Suddenly she wasn't quite as sleepy anymore. Or had she just cheered up a little? It was hard to tell.
Blossom watched as Piers entered, offering a tentative smile. Was that a smile he gave back? The mask, um, made it difficult to tell. It seemed to shift like there was a smile there, so... that was good enough, maybe?
"Uh, n-no, not at all!" Blossom shook her head and smiled a little wider. She looked over to the side. Oh. There was another bed in here. How had she not noticed that? You are losing it. Blossom looked back at Piers, nodding once. 'U-Uh-huh. All right. I'll... um, see you in the morning, then, probably."
She paused. Piers had already left and... all of a sudden, she didn't feel like huddling in her room alone. She knew who she would want to be with at the moment, but he wasn't here, so... what to do?
Blossom picked up her room key again and left, closing the door quietly behind her. "I should... probably get some food," she decided, hearing her stomach growl loudly. "Never ate dinner..." Blossom hurried that way, skirt rippling along behind her.← You'd better forget everything. Remember. . . your different Life?XXX You'd better forget everything. It had grown darker now as the young lord made his way back to the inn. By now, everyone must have gone inside and were resting. They had a big day tomorrow, since they were going to cover more ground and try to get as close as they could to the border of Sentria. Trying to cross the desert at night was insane. Going during the day would be hot, sure. But at night? Freezing cold. And the sandstorms...those would be hell. If Soren had come along, the wind magic that man could produce could probably blow the storms away.
His friend wasn't all that helpful. No news concerning about his father's whereabouts. He was back at square one...again! Either the barkeeper was useless, or maybe his father wasn't in this country at all. To make the trip worthwhile, he had a drink and left the barkeep a small tip. He sighed as he looked up at the night sky. The stars were hidden, thanks to the street lights. He glanced over at Darko and reached into his bag to pull out some of the cake he had brought along. He tossed the chocolate into the hungry imp's mouth (after he had to make the little guy stop chewing on his hair). Darko's reaction was spectacular. The moment the chocolate was eaten, the imp was off his shoulder and orbiting around his head, like he was the earth and the creature was the moon. Except the moon was chirping loudly and doing barrel rolls. Roy broke a grin and laughed softly.
"You sure are one interesting creature, Darko." he said.
They soon made it to the inn. Everyone had already gone inside, so he was the last of the group still outside. Roy flashed the key at the innkeeper to let him know that he was, in fact, rooming here and not a bum trying to sleep somewhere warm. The young lord wandered over to his room before he noticed Ephraim sitting on a bench next to the door. He gave the prince a small greeting before knocking on the door. He then opened it and peeked in before he strolled into the room. The bag was tossed onto the bed and the cloak was removed. The young lord then noticed a lance in the room. So his roommate was the prince of Renais. That was fine. At least it was someone he knew. A bath sounded nice right about now, considering the amount of travel they had done today. So he grabbed a towel before he headed out.

Now I'm stuck here But I don't belong here ~Ninian~Ninian smiled at Akihi before returning her gaze to the floor of the wagon. They lapsed into a silence broken only by the card game being played between the corpse man and another man with red hair. As night began to fall, Ninian's thoughts kept returning to the very thing she least wanted to think about. After a while, she wrapped her arms around her legs, resting her head on her knees.
The dreams are bad enough, she thought, but suddenly seeing him . . . Why now? Am I--am I finally going mad?
She tried without success to think of other things, but the strain of the past thirty-six hours or so had taken its toll on her, both mentally and physically. By the time they reached the city called Pentheus, Ninian was very nearly asleep.
Half stumbling out of the wagon, Ninian followed everyone inside the inn and received her room key. Checking the numbers with the keys the others had obtained, the dancer found that she had been paired with Alihi. Smiling sleepily at the tactician as they made their way to their room, Ninian told her, "If it's alright with you, Alihi, I would like to wash off the dust from travelling, and then retire for the night. Unless you would like the bath first?"
She feared her tiredness was causing her not to make sense, but it was rather late. She hadn't even noticed Roy leave, though that may have been in part due to her impaired sight. I wanna be where you are Maybe I'm not so far from home
