Ellandra was about to say something more, when the main subject of their discussion rushed into the room and skidded to a stop in front of her parents. "Mama! Faolan! Come see, come see! Sibling-Ziazan and I got the swing all set up! Come see! Come see!"
Rhian was just baqrely remembering to keep her voice down for the sake of the babies, she was so excited - in that naive, childlike manner she still sported so much of the time. Hopefully maturity would come at some point, however.

"Rhian, not so loud," Faolan said, but already Sam had started crying, his little ears more sensitive to noises around him. "Great. Elle, let me have him and you can go see the swing. I'll be out when I get him laid down for his nap, too."

Ellandra nodded softly, handing the upset baby over to his father, even as little Bel was disturbed by her brother's crying and woke up, beginning to wail in tandem with her brother. Rhian's antennae drooped and she mumbled a dejected, "Sorry..." before taking her Mama's hand and leading her outside to where the swing was hanging.

Zia, completely unaware of the twins' upset, was enjoying itself on the swing, leaving trails of cards and feathers as it went back and forth. Spotting Ellandra, it came to a stop and ran toward her, wrapping its thin arms about her in a hug. "Where's Fao, Mama?"

"Trying to calm the twins down," Ellandra said hugging Ziazan back and stroking the small alter's hair. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Rhian wince and walk away, antennae drooping. The flutterby felt more than a little guilty for upsetting the babies - she hadn't meant to bother them, she'd just gotten so excited...

"It's part of parenting, I guess," Zia said. "Fao's accent tends to be more soothing to them, I think. It's probably why he wanted to get them back to resting." It looked over at its sister. "Don't worry, Rhian. Babies get upset easily. They'll be alright."

Ellandra smiled a bit at Ziazan. "Oh, I know. I can already tell they're going to be a daddy's boy and girl." Which was perhaps a little sad, but as long as they were healthy and happy, which parent the children favored wasn't really a problem.
Rhian looked over at Ziazan and Ellandra from where she'd sat down, playing with some leaves that had fallen to the ground. "Still, I made them upset, that's not helpful at all. . . I thought I'd grow up when I grew, but I guess I haven't. . ."

"Can't be helpful all the time," Zia replied, shrugging. "Besides, you never been around babies. How were you to know they're so easy to upset?" It looked up at Elle. "They won't always be his, but they'll have his accent if you let him always do the talking."

"I talk to them too," Ellandra said, shrugging. "My voice just isn't as soothing as Faolan's, that's all."
Rhian didn't answer, choosing instead to tear a leaf to shreds in her fingers. After a moment, she got up. "Come on, we were gonna show Mama the swing, right?"

"Sure it is," Zia answered. "It's the one they heard for nine months." It followed after Rhian to show off the swing.

Ellandra shook her head, following after the two Essentics. It was good to see them enjoying themselves. Already, though, her arms ached to hold one of her little babies again.

Zia ran about the swing, picking up lost feathers and cards, not really noticing the new ones it was leaving behind. "Fao will like pushing you on the swing, I bet, Mama."

Ellandra blinked. "Hmm? I don't think the swing's for me to use, Ziazan."
Rhian followed Ziazan, picking up the feathers and cards it left as it was picking up the others, though itwas basically a futile effort. "It's fifty-two pickup that never ends!" the flutterby cheered, giggling and in a good mood once more.

"Huh?" Zia looked behind it and sighed. "Oh, hell." It laughed and looked up at Ellandra. "I don't see why you couldn't use it. It's strong enough to hold you."

Rhian just giggled again, peering at her finds. "Sibling-Ziazan, do I have a pretty card in your deck like everybody else does?"
Ellandra blinked. "I didn't mean it wasn't possible . . . just that I don't think it was meant for me."
