Sheagorath_The_MadGod Perssonaly youre not providing facts youre providing opinions, the only things you stated in that post that was a fact was that archeologists and historians use the bible to discover sites, they would not use the bible as a cultural or historical record sense the bible is jaded and has a huge christain twist to it, for eevry city that fell, god was behind it, for every religion that faded away, go was purging the world of evil and so on
I can see how some of the points can be misunderstood as "Opinion" But they all do carry weight of truth behind them. I'm not just posting these points as a, 'this is what I believe the Bible has done.' But there are many who would rise up to the contrary. And if this really does break down to just a matter of opinion, what would then make yours more reliable than mine? Since opinion holds no weight, your comments would be no more right or wrong on the matter than my own, yet because I have ended with a different conclusion from my studies than you, it is automatically wrong and hence has no weight.
Bottom line is I new I was going to get comments back like this. I will say no more on the matter, but it seems to me that you are quick to fling out a, "Just an opinion" label without truly coming up with solid, valid arguments to overturn these points. Points which have been concluded by very intelligent people, with PHD's, who have spent a lifetime of study on the subject.
I mean no disrespect, and am not angry, but I do feel a little insulted by how your bigotry towards christians, in general clouds your judgment. And how you still clump us all together into one stereotype and attack that stereotype over the points we make.

1 - The KJ version of the bible has been modified in several ways. The first one I ever learned about was the commendment "Thou shalt not kill" ... I soon learned that the original text reads "Thou shalt not murder". Yes, there is a difference between killing and murder. There are many other alterations, but I will let you do some research (assuming you know how... your post doesn't show much hope for this assumption though)
** The bible says to remember the sabath day and to keep it holy... Too bad for christians, the sabath day is Saturday not Sunday.
2- Satanism is NOT devil worship. Satanism is the religion (or "cult" depending on how you view it) of self-worship. Do not EVER speak illy of a religion you do not understand. Do some research, talk to people of other faiths, don't make broad assumptions that were handed down to you from other ignorant people. I was raised to believe this, but one of my friend's is satanic and she has told me all of the misconceptions and stereotypes christians have made up
3- Gays are wrong? This is just moronic. Your God MADE them that way. Since you believe all people are creations of God, a gift from above, blah blah... We are "made in God's image" so if he made gay people then well, God must be a little gay himself. Or you can go with the other approach of You're a god-damned christian so do your christian duty and stop judging these people. Just because they're homosexual does not give you the right to judge them. Last time I checked, being gay wasn't against neither the ten commandments nor the seven deadly sins... however, judging people is.
4- The bible is real - yes, I will give you that much. There are thousands of copies owned in churches, bookstores, homes etc... And, the bible is one of the BEST pieces of Fiction I have ever read. It deals with Incest, murder, sacrificing animals, sacrificing first borns, people invoking the wrath of an imaginary diety, I could go on for days about all the amazing things in it... but that doesn't mean it actually happened. Look at things logically. It takes sperm and egg to make a baby. Either Mary and Joseph had sex and didn't want to tell anyone, or Mary was a whore. Either way, she could not have possibly had a baby without sperm.
5- Celtics Trinity Symbol - I will admit, I do not know anything about the celtic ways. I don't know what their symbol stands for, nor what it means to those people or what they believe in. However, I do know that Christianity has "borrowed" a lot of holidays, and that the "evil" pentacle of the wicca religion was once utilized by Christians.
6- Witches - Actually, "witches" as you call them, are a lot less evil than your religion. Your religion speaks of a god who is tempermental and ridden with the PMS. When he gets mad, he floods the world, he sends plagues on egypt, destroys Sodom and Gomorrah with brimstone and fire, refuses produce offerings and accepts animal offerings thus raging Caine and causing him to kill Able. Oh, and lets not forget that he sent his own damn son to be murdered. =/
On the flip side, "Witches" believe in harming nothing. Believe what you do comes back on you three fold (the law of three)... They believe in trying to live harmoniously with Nature and Earth. Their beliefs are peaceful. Again, don't down talk a religion unless you have studied that religion.
Personally, I believe that Christians have a fierce deity that seems very man-made with a lot of errors and flaw to his word. He contradicts himself, does horrible things, expects people to do exactly as he wishes, though he gives you free choice... but if you utilize your free choice and go against him, you get cast into hell along with everyone who did not follow in the light of God. As well as you will be "tortured" by Lucifer, Satan, The Devil, Beelzebub, Great Dragon, Old Serpent, whatever you like to call him.
Riddle me this Batman, why is it that Lucifer will torture you for going against his enemy? Christians believe if you do not walk with God, you walk with Satan... So why would Satan turn on his people? If anything, he would treat them well and build his army for the great war that is doomed to happen if the bible's tale is real.
Along that, Two of the most peaceful men ever born on this earth are sitting in hell right next to Lucifer, according to Christian doctrine. Gandhi and Buddha. They are in hell according to the doctrines of the christian religion, because they were not christian, they did not accept the christian faith, they did not accept jesus christ as their lord and savior and they did not believe he died for their sins... so they are in hell, despite the amazing lives they lived.
I would much rather live my life well, happy, honest, and peaceful without a god, than admit that an egotistical ghost is real and that the son he sent to be murdered died for me when I hadn't been anywhere near born at that time.
You cannot see how we disbelieve in your God right? most Christians will argue til they're blue in the face that non-christians must be blind to not believe in something that is so obvious to the christians. Well, let's put it this way.
Do you believe in the Greek gods/goddesses? What about the roman's? Wiccan? well, when you come to understand why you disbelieve in those deities, you will understand why many do not believe in yours.
My final note. Everyone is free to believe in whatever they want to believe in. Everyone needs religion of some sort. Even Atheists need Christianity so they can disbelieve. Religion gives everyone explanation and reason to things that they cannot understand or explain. It is a security blanket that gives us comfort in knowing there's a reason for our existence. It doesn't matter what that religion is, they all believe in something.
The bad thing about Christianity is that even Christians cannot agree on a "proper" way to worship, so you have segregated yourselves into denominations instead of working together to worship together.
Do not EVER say this or that about a religion unless you have participated in that religion or studied it thoroughly. It is so offensive to the people you're talking down on, and it makes you look very stupid, and you're leaving a bad impression of your fellow believers.
Many Christians are not brainwashed, many of them are very tolerant, many of them are very open and accepting of others who are of a different faith or lifestyle. These poor people are generalized with ignorant morons like the OP of this thread.
Christianity is about Toleration and Acceptance. You're taught to love your neighbor... sadly, many cannot and do not follow their bibles thoroughly.

I said that Bast was an egyptian godess I NEVER said that she was greek, i did say that she had a name that the greeks gave her later on (most of the gods and godess of egypt had there names changed by diffrent cultures)
And once agin im not stupid, my religion worships cats to so it was no suprise that i found a fasination with Bast also bast did not used to be the whole itty thingy she is today, she actually used to be like the other half human half feline godess or so ive been told
Of course they cant, there probably pure blooded humans and so they would have no chance at doing that, even for a full non human that would be impossible, as to you talking to youre gods and godess, that i can believe sense humans have the ability to use magic that has its source at a diety and communicate with certain gods and godess

kagomefox The Bible is the word of God and our "Sword" with which to fight against the enemy however has anyone noticed and felt that there bibles have well been watered down or seeming to not connect you to God as much? or is it just me? well i believe i have the why if you have apparently over the last 20-50 years organizations have been slowly changing the bible by cutting, or taking out, or replacing and adding to the bible all types like (NIV,NKJ, new translation, one world , etc ...except for the king james) no i am not one of those oh my KJ is the only correct version people and this isn't a scam either i was watching a seminar on New AGE and well the woman doing the dvd showed how all versions were missing scripture except the king james why i don't know but it is true for example all other versions had this: "No man shall live by bread alone" how ever the actual scripture is: "No man shall live by bread alone but threw the word that is God" Serieouly i had NKJ and i checked every scripture this woman said and it is getting worse one of my scriptures even reffered to Jesus Christ as Sir...Sir this is horrible they are demoting Jesus Christ and they are even taking out Christ just saying Jesus that is it they are also changing words which change meanings. and adding things like instead of Jesus just Him who is him they are making it more tolerent. the bible is not tolerent...it is really bad so check your Bibles go for KJ for it hasn't a been changed yet. this group also uses symbols like this http://okaycity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10001/celtic_trinity.JPGi know it was suppost to mean trinity well if you look at each circle thing it is a 6 just look at it you will see it it is the unholy trinity and well it is all getting worse just be careful they are attacking the word our only offensive weapon they are dulling it down and it is getting worse. As for the bible it has been translated and some words changed yes but they mean the same thing. In revalations it says that if any many trys to add or take away from this book that they will be punished. I od not elive that God would allow this to happen to us because he said he wouldn't? You may ask well how do you know that that wasn't added, this simple fact says it all to me, I trust the Lord my God and know he would not let his lambs go through this he would keep it clean and if it where changed in a dramatic sense her would tell us in our hearts. Thats my opinion and we are all entitled to our own. And this is my opinion as yours is yours so if you disagree with me and post about how this is stupid or I am stupid, I really don't care because I know in my heart what is right!
belief isn't saying you think something is real even when it's not there.
Believing is knowing something is real when it's not there. If you truly believe you have no doubt. Talk to God and ask him about the bible and let him talk to you. That is the best advice I can give. Just talk to the Lord.
