Upon hearing his friend's sleepy voice, Mikaril mentally cursed himself for not keeping his voice down and reached over to lay a hand on Kyil's shoulder. "It's alright; don't worry. I just woke up suddenly." He didn't want to give voice to even the slightest hint that they might be going back to that nightmarish city to be turned over to Haellara. His friend was calmer than he had seen him since they had set out to find help, and he was intending to make sure he stayed that way for as long as he could. He felt the wagon lurch beneath him as the wheels ground over some loose stones, and his tension mounted, knowing that Kyil would have surely felt it and realized now that they were moving, away from Eryndlyn and the home they had strived to make.

Turning back to Ssussun, he listened and winced as she mentioned Undrek'Thoz, giving voice to what he had hoped Kyil had been too tired to hear. He even felt a jab of anger at himself for even suggesting it to the female when apparently that wasn't the intended destination. True, Menzoberranzan was no rothe-grazing cavern, but even that seemed loads better than his own home city. He even felt a thought that tickled at the back of his mind behind all the uncertainty; the City of Spiders would be a wonderful place for one of his portals, and he HAD brought his treasures with him in the hopes of paying the healer when they had first arrived. But still.....how the Hell did this all happen??

Keeping his hand on Kyil's shoulder and his eyes fixed on Ssussun, Mikaril listened quietly, forcing himself to swallow the flood of questions that had threatened to erupt from his mouth. He felt a twinge of indignation at the thought of having been drugged along with his friend; some protector he was! Though he couldn't deny that it had provided them with sleep they both needed, and at least nothing bad had come from it except for him being jolted from his sleep by a touch that he had thought he would never experience; that of a female being gentle with him.

He couldn't help but wrinkle his nose at the thought of the shriveled old bat of a healer coming anywhere near his friend, but he couldn't very well deny what Ssussun was saying. They may be leaving the home they had wanted to have, but in sheer honesty, it had not been made into a real home yet. This wagon, though still not a home, would be undeniably safer, surrounded by drow who would unknowingly be protecting them, and a female who knowingly would be. There was no way he would risk traveling with Kyil into the Wilds to find their way back, and he had to admit, it didn't seem like such a bad offer for Kyil's sake. He would be kept safe, have warm meals and be kept off of his feet and as comfortable as he could be made. Of course, he had his own punishment in mind should the healer overstep her boundaries again; he knew how females favored their breasts, and he also knew that they were nothing but soft tissue, quite unable to stand up to a properly sharpened dagger.

Though something still bothered him, something that had gone unanswered in spite of the female's sharp and accurate analogy; the offer only seemed to benefit them. For the second time, she had neglected to mention a price or any form of compensation. He knew that he would do anything for his friend to remain safe, and he wanted desperately for him to have all that Ssussun had promised of them both. Without trying to sound the least bit ungrateful, he managed a small nod, trying his best to sound confident
. "It sounds like we have little choice, and I must admit it sounds infinitely more favorable than if we had tried to manage on our own. Can I ask what you would like in return? I'm certain that a female as clear-thinking as you weould not go through so much trouble for a pair of males unless you saw some sort of gain to be had from us. Name it and I'll do it; for the both of us, Kyil most of all."

Kyil glanced to Mikaril and calmed at his touch. he reached up as well to gently lay his hand over Mikarils own. It did not take much for him to realize that something had gone wrong. The movement of the wagon, coupled with the female firedancers words raised alarm in him. Though...it was marred by uncertainty. She was taking steps it seemed to...protect them? Kyil glanced at Mikaril for some sort of sign as to what this meant to him. "Mikaril?" He whispered softly, then waited for some sign from the other. Were they trapped now? Should he be prepareing to bolt? Were they once more trapped in a situation as they had been with Haellara?

Even as Kyil was looking to Mikaril for some sign and guidance, Ssussun was watching him as well. His acceptance of his situation..there was no sign of anger in his words. Surely a normal male would be seething at this situation? Of course, Ssussun had already determined that Mikaril was anything but a normal male. His actions concerning Kyil were proof of that. Ssu tilted her head and stepped forwards as Mikaril would speak. He at least was not throwing a fit. That made her feel better about this. She wasn't really prepared to get all mean and commanding with him. Not due to any weakness on her part of course. It was only because she did not want to have to with a male such as this.

"Your quiet foolish." She commented with a small shake of her head. "To agree so quickly to a price not yet named. However, I suppose you are in a position that would make your co-operation better for you. Very well then." Ssussun knelt beside the bed and reached a hand out to strangely grab at Mikaril's chin with her fingers. "You will help around the circus as part of your payment. Help with the watchs, help with the set up when we reach the city... Things like that. When we get there you can help work the crowds in whatever way you can for the street performers." She paused then for a pair of seconds, then leaned forwards to attempt and press her lips to Mikarils in a rather soft and closed mouth kiss.

Smiling at Kyil's whisper, Mikaril turned his head just a little so that he could look at Kyil with one eye. "Don't worry Kyil; it'll be alright. It may not be the way I would have reached this conclusion, but you have to admit, it's better than what we could have done alone. Imagine sleeping like you just did from now until you're no longer with child, and making sure that you have teh right foods and medical attention." He lowered his voice even more and gave Kyil a wink. "If it has to be that healer, she'll learn the real meaning of violation if she so much as thinks of doing that to you again." He gave Kyil's shoulder a small squeeze. "It will be alright, I promise."

He turned his attention back fully to Ssussun, smiling a little at her words. "Maybe I am. Goodness knows I've felt foolish many times in my life. But it's not foolish to cherish and protect the things that one considers valuable and important, and in my life, that's Kyil. And yes.....I might as well cooperate if you're to keep your word, right?" As he saw her reach out, he suddenly wondered if he might have gone a bit too far, and he thought so even more as he found his chin being grabbed by her. He felt his entire body stiffen, preparing for anything she might do to him for his forwardness; a slap or a nice grab somewhere soft with her nails. The shoulder he knew was particularly effective for that sort of thing.

As she stated the payment, all he could manage to do was nod; he didn't dare speak, knowing that right know the female was in charge and his position called for listening, not speaking. Though her demands seemed reasonable, his mind was still processing all of these events. Her demands seemed.....TOO reasonable. Setting up, keeping watch, drawing crowds; yes it seemed like a lot of work, though he was certain it wasn't anything he couldn't handle, but these were things that any street urchin could help do just for the promise of a crust of bread and a cup of water. Surely she wasn't helping them just for their value as potential circus helpers!

He suddenly saw her moving even closer and before he even had time to think, he found her lips pressing against his. Too shocked to even move, he just stood there, rigid, feeling as though he had just had a paralyzation spell put upon him, and he felt almost as frightened as though that were true. He knew what tended to follow kisses; females couldn't resist it. They would become suddenly violent; biting one of the lips or pinching an ear hard enough to draw blood. He remembered the lesson well; kissing was always followed by blood. He remembered when Haellara had played such games with him, letting him know what was in store for him should a female divert her attention towards him. Just like what she did, only the one who's attention he would get would be able to have a much firmer grasp upon him. It all became suddenly clear. THIS was why Ssussun wanted to keep them here! He could feel himself beginning to tremble, and he closed his eyes, if only to shut in their sudden wetness.

Kyil was slowly relaxing. It seemed like this would be a good deal. A trade of goods and services...Mikaril could definatly do this. However, as Ssussun would give him a kiss Kyil's eyes would widen nearly twice in size. His lips parted in his shock and he shifted a bit to tighten his hand upon Mikaril's shoulder. What should he do? His eyes flickered between Mikaril and the female, uncertainty writ across his features. Mikaril had agreed to this...so he should not interfer. All the same though, he disliked the sight of his teacher and mentor being...accosted.

There was no missing the tenseing of Mikaril's entier body. It was clear he was scared. It was also clear that he did not like this. That did not stop Ssussun however. As Mikaril had not pulled away from her, she lifted her other hand and moved to gently pet her fingers down the back of his head. She had closed her eyes at this point so she could focus on this kiss. Though it should have been brief, she found herself relculant to pull her lips away yet. Ssu rubbed them gently over Mikarils own. They felt so tight, so scared...and she did not find that enjoyable in the least. She wanted them open and accepting...she wanted some sort of sign that in some way this male found her kiss enjoyable. She gently pressed the tip of her tongue to his bottom lip and ran it over the soft flesh there. Though as his trembling became more apparent...she finally pulled away. Ssussun blinked her red eyes at Mikaril while ignoreing the stricken and frightened look upon Kyils face. "And that....that will be payment enough for now."

Somehow beyond the blood hammering in his own ears, Mikaril could feel the reassuring feel of Kyil's hand on his shoulder. It helped to anchor him somewhat, prevent him from completely going off the deep end as he could feel Ssussun's touch, running her fingers along the back of his head, hovering all to near to that certain spot that Haellara had loved to stroke when she had discovered that it could involuntarily calm him. He wanted so badly to pull away, to whimper, and squeeze his eyes shut the way he had done before, but he clenched his fists slightly and reminded himself that he was doing this for Kyil, so his friend could stay and be cared for. He would put up with this female's advances, but he couldn't help the feeling it gave him, like he was still in the past, being tormented and handled the way he had been.

It seemed like she would never pull away, but when she did, Mikaril could see the hint of disappointment on her face. He felt ashamed in spite of himself; if this was what she wanted, he needed to do this better; he needed to make her WANT to keep him around. And to her credit, as with the touch with the bedsheet, she had been surprisingly gentle. Why, she hadn't even broken the skin when she kissed him. Just to be certain, he slowly reached up and felt the skin on his lips, feeling no sudden sting or wetness other than the typical after-kiss wet that was already evaporating. He looked at Ssu again, trying to banish the last of his acidic fear and willing his heartbeat to slow again. He felt as though he ought to say something; that her kiss had been adequate and he was the one who had problems, but nothing he could think of seemed quite the right thing to say. All he could do was nod, trying at least to look relieved that it had been only a kiss and not a passionate attack. Apparently this arrangement would still be hard for both him and Kyil, but he would strive to make sure that it would still stand.

He was positively terrified. At least that is what Ssussun assumed as she looked at him. He had shaken as she kissed him. He was looking at her as if she were a abyss serpent baring fangs and ready to strike. Obviously the female that had kept him before had been harsh. He probably had nothing but unpleasent encounters when it came to the intimacy of a lover. Well, not that such a thing was uncommon. Ssu was positive every male had been forced to perform in circumstances not to their liking or choosing. Well...she was not about to be one of those women... Inwardly Ssu shook her head. Whether it was at herself or Mikaril though she was not certain.

"Well then." She finally spoke as it seemed Mikaril was incapable, and Kyil appeared to be too stunned to speak himself right now. Ssu rose to her feet and moved to the door of the wagon. "I'll let the ringleader know the two of you will be traveling with us for some months. Stay here until I get back." Ssu cast a glance over her shoulder and flicked the lock off the door. She did not wait for a response from the two males, as she did not want to ruin the potential of this new arrangement. Being a female in charge would be..fun! Ssu opened the door and slipped out into the darkness. With a flutter of her white ribbons behind her, she turned and snapped the door closed, a brilliant and pleased smile revealed her perfect white teeth. All she needed was a few weeks..then things would settle down and the two males would learn what they needed concerning her. Then...well...then she'd see what happened. This was so exciteing!

Kyil remained quiet and stiff as the female kissed Mikaril. He was not certain what to do! Honestly, it was a bit shocking that she was showing such interest in Mikaril rather then him. For a moment he wondered if he was perhaps jealouse? He was the more physically desierable of the two wasn't he? He was pretty and unique with his pink eyes. He was certainly showing enough of his torso to draw interest...

No. His thoughts were not ones of jealousy...but rather concern. Mikaril was tense..he had shaken...Kyil had felt it under his hand. He was scared and... "We should leave." He spoke in a tight voice the moment the female closed the door. "We can't be too far from the city. We can make it back in a few hours. We should go while she is gone." Kyil shifted on the bed and gave Mikaril a gentle nudge as he tried to slip off the bed around him.

Mikaril was finally beginning to regain his breath when Ssu made the motions of leaving. It wasn't as though he was finding her horribly frightening, at least not any more than any female he usually came across, but her leaving meant that she was through trying to entice him for now. It would allow him time to calm down and think on just how he was going to cope with this sudden alarming turn of events. He nodded again as she intructed them not to leave the wagon, and he watched her leave with increasing relief. He and Kyil could have some time to themselves now, to talk things out.

He turned to Kyil in surprise at his words, and as he felt Kyil shifting to get up from the bed, he reached out and very gently put his hand on Kyil's chest, stopping him.
"Hold on; we're not leaving just yet." Before his friend could repeat himself, he hurried on. "It doesn't take a great distance to make traveling in the Wilds dangerous. Feel those jolts? We're hitting too much loose rock to be on a road as well-traveled as a main road to the city, and I'm not taking you out there; if you were to get sick again, it would attract anything and everything, and we would be finished. Besides that, if we went out of the wagon adn tried to get away, we would surely be spotted by the watch around the caravan and could just as easily be mistaken for thieves. I don't like to think of it as such, but it looks like we're really stuck here."

Mikaril lowered his hand and shifted so that he was sitting more comfortably beside Kyil. "And really, is it that bad? You heard what she said; you would get cared for properly here. You'd be resting up, which I know you really need, and I'll always be close by. As for that healer, if she so much as looks at you funny, I'm going to make sure she wishes her mother never took her father." Knowing what was also vexing his friend, he managed a small smile. "Don't worry Kyil; I'll manage on my end. I just......felt really uncomfortable; having lived with me for so long, you know just how often I come in contact with females, let alone being selected by one. But I suppose, given the circumstances, it could be a lot worse. At least she didn't draw blood." He chuckled nervously, then looked at Kyil with a more serious expression. "This may not be the most comfortable situation for the both of us, but I really do think the pros outweigh the cons here. Hey, if worse comes to worse, we can escape into Menzoberranzan and find passage home on another caravan, but I say we give this a try. This female does seem to genuinely want to help, and she could have done nothing from the beginning. I still don't trust her entirely, but she seems a lot more together than most females I've seen. I honestly think that if she doesn't want us harmed, it won't happen."

He reached out and put a hand on his shoulder. "Just try to relax until then. How was your sleep, before I so thoughtlessly woke you?"
PostPosted: Fri Feb 05, 2010 6:23 pm

Kyil's movements came to a pause as Mikaril placed his hand upon his chest. Without looking down at the hand, he peered with furrowed brows at Mikaril. "We are not?" Kyil questioned him and his words in a echo even as Mikaril pushed on with his explanation. Kyil helplessly gestured towards the unguarded door even as Mikaril explained to him their situation. He...did not like this. The reasons seemed more like an excuse. Surely they could make it back... "I will not be sick, I promise." He tried to weakly cut in.

Even as Mikaril started to brush off his own situation, Kyil shook his head back and forth. "It is though...it is bad. I can not let you suject yourself to her whims. We only escaped a situation like this Mikaril. I can not be the cause of you being trapped again. I can't!" Despite his normal control, Kyil's voice rose with the wave of emotions. It was his fault Mikaril had been caught by Haellara. Now it was his fault again that some other female was going to abuse him. It was..unlike him to feel such a wave of emotion this strong. Kyil's eyes held a slight glaze over them as he looked at Mikaril as if he would burst into tears any moment.

"I just... Please Mikaril. I can't stand to have you hurting because of me again. I'll be fine. I swear..." His words sounded utterly hollow in his own ears. Fine indeed. All Kyil needed was a moment of calm to realize that his emotions...usually so well controlled, were high strung. He was not fine. He felt queazy, though that could have something to do with the fact he was allowing himself tog et worked up. He felt warm...hot really. The wine had to have changed him a bit in order to make him capable of carrying a child. Perhaps like a partial transformation spell. How quickly was it supposed to work? Kyil pressed his fingers over his hot cheeks and eyes with his head bowing forwards slightly. He willed his anxiety to fade and for the feverish heat of his face to fade. Yet his mind continued to dwell on his failing. Yet again he had led Mikaril into this sort of trap. Another female was going to hurt him, all because of his failing. "Haellara was right...I never should have come with you."

Words couldn't describe just what Mikaril was feeling right at that moment. He was still a little shaken from Ssu's advances, touched and alarmed that Kyil cared enough about him to go running through the Wilds pregnant, and anxious about his friend's apparent distress about this whole thing. He listened with growing unease at how Kyil's voice and obvious stress became higher, and he tried to keep his voice level in turn as he reassured his friend, and inwardly himself. "It may look the same, but it's not the same situation, believe me. If she had wanted to be rough, she would have just gone ahead and done it; you know how much freedom the average female has, and there was nobody there to stop her. She didn't so much as join in when that healer......you may not have noticed it, and I don't blame you, but I saw part of her expression when that old hag was doing that. She did NOT look happy at all. I don't know, it could be something else entirely, but it gives me cause to give her the benefit of a doubt."

Seemingly satisfied that Kyil wasn't going to leap up and try to leave, Mikaril lowered his hand and moved carefully to sit close to him on the bed. "Haellara loves to tell lies, especially when they contain a grain of truth. But she can't possibly understand our situation enough to give a good opinion about it. You should know better than even me how much experience she had with real love. She would see you as a burden if it were her taking you through the Wilds; she can't understand that you're much more to me than just another set of eyes or ears or hands." He reached out to take Kyil by the hand with the intent to hold it firmly. "I love you, and your safety means more to me than anything. I would gladly return to Hael if it meant that you would be safe, but I know that couldn't be because of how you worry." He smiled reassuringly. "And remember, this place makes frequent stops. Anytime things start turning sour, we can leave. But for now we're both a lot better off than we could be, and I think we should take advantage of it."

He paused for a moment, looking steadily at Kyil. "You're giving off a good heat; are you hot? I can find you a drink if you like, and I'll make sure it's safe. I'll make sure everything is safe for you, and I'll stive to make you as comfortable as possible throughout this whole thing. Nothing will be too much for you to ask, and I mean nothing. But....I would like a little help from you as well. You see......you have experience with females that I haven't had, and if I'm to keep this female from losing patience with me, I might need a little help in deciphering just what it is that she wants from me, especially since it's beginning to look more and more like she doesn't want what the average female would normally take anyway." He stopped to fix Kyil with the most serious gaze he can. "I'll promise you this, on my own life; if this female starts to hurt me the way Hael did, I swear on the very Glimmersea that we shall get away from this place the very first chance we get. Will you take my word? And will you rest some more? You can lay your head on my lap if you want; I could stroke your head. It would relax you, and you'll need as much relaxing as you can get in the coming months."
PostPosted: Tue Feb 09, 2010 11:28 am

Kyil dropped his hands from his face and looked back up at Mikaril. He wanted to be encouraged. He wanted to be calmed and soothed by his Masters words. But that horrible guilty feeling clung to him. This was his fault. Somehow he had failed in some way and he had once again led Mikaril into a terrible situation. Now he had to take care of him. Kyil did not pull his hand away from Mikaril's own. In truth, having him hold his hand so firmly was rather calming. Or at the very least it was reassuring that his friend held no ill feelings towards him.

"I love you...I love you too Mikaril. That is why this hurts so much. I feel like I...I have messed things up for you again. I really have been nothing but a source of misfortune for you. I am the reason Haellara caught you again. I should have acted more quickly to help you. I...I have done nothing but hinder you. And now this..." Kyil placed a hand upon his belly and lowered his eyes with a pained expression on his face. "All of your plans...the thief gang and our home. Now we are here with this female and I fear for you so much." Kyil's eyes remained downcast even as he considered Mikarils concerned words.

"I do feel very warm." He admitted with a unhappy note. Kyil gently laid himself back on the bed and tilted his head so he could keep his eyes on Mikaril as he laid there. He had not released Mikarils hand as of yet, and by the firmness of his grip, he has no intention of releaseing his hand anytime soon. "Stay...just stay near me. Where I may see you. I will be fine without a drink." He felt like he was begging shamelessly for something that was already given. He did not care though. He had to speak the words. He had to hold onto Mikaril, for he had this terrified sick feeling that if he did not something would come and swoop him away. Mikaril's promise and request for advice was hardly as comforting as they could have been. Kyil supposed then that he ought to be content that Mikaril would at least make the effort to promise so much. Wordlessly he shifted on the bed and laid his head in Mikaril's lap. With how small the bed was, he found himself curled into as small a ball as he could manage, but it was not uncomfortable. It actually felt a little snug. Perhaps it had something to so with the face the 'bed' itself was more like a shallow drawer stuffed with very soft cushioning and layered in rather warm and pleasent smelling blankets. He could not quiet place the scent he detected, nor could he figure out where it was comeing from other then the bed itself.

"So long as you promise..you swear." He spoke while closeing his eyes briefly. "If anything happens we must leave...we must. I can not forgive myself for how I have failed you. I can not handle being cause of more pain." The words slipped from his lips and he regretted speaking them as each one came. How far he had fallen from his training! He should have been reassuring Mikaril he was fine, that nothing was wrong. That all that mattered was how Mikaril himself felt. Instead he felt as if he had been a dusty object and now someone had come and flicked his protective grey coating off, to let the little dust motes sparkle and fly away and leaving him strangely naked. Kyil inhaled deeply, and pulled his thoughts back to something previously spoken of by mikaril.

"What sort of advice is it you seek? How can I help you? I am afraid I was not thinking too clearly when it was she began to kiss you. What makes it seem so different?"

"Oh Kyil," Mikaril had to smile a tired smile and close his eyes at his poor friend's voiced troubles. "We've been over this before. I've insisted that I brought misfortune upon you, and in spite all you have shown me; saving my life, showing me friendship, empowering my armor and weapons and helping me to sever ties between my house, you insist that you have brought me nothing but trouble. Perhaps this would best be solved by concluding that in bringing the other all of that, we compliment each other perfectly." He looked earnestly into his friend's eyes, willing him to hold his gaze. "Our plans are not lost. We both still have many decades ahead of us; this is just a detour, and if we seize the new opportunities here, we could even advance the plans along. Remember how we said we should go to different cities and set up portals? That's just what we can do here. I have the spells with me in the bag I took to pay the healer with; we can still dream here, and nobody but us has to know."

He shifted himself a bit so that Kyil would have as much room as possible when he settled his head onto his lap. He hunched over Kyil a little and gently stroked his head. "I do swear; if it gets out of hand, if it seems as though things will get bad with me and this female, we will be away, no matter where we are. But please don't think bad of me for thinking that somehow things WILL be alright between me and this female, if only for the sake of both you and I having a safe place. After all, we haven't taken into consideration that Haellara might still try to look for us. She won't be looking for us in a circus caravan, so there is one reason to remain here for as long as we are able." He moved his fingers carefully down the back of Kyil's neck and moved to his shoulders, gently rubbing them for a little bit before returning to his head. "Try not to blame yourself anymore. You've done nothing wrong, and you musn't burden yourself with guilt that you don't deserve. What you need to do now is rest. And I promise that if it will set your mind at ease, I will happily tell you everything that happened at the end of the day, since Ssussun mentioned my doing chores and things during the daytime."

As Kyil would ask how Ssu's advances were different, Mikaril forced himself to recall the moment when she had kissed him; at least it lacked the sting that came with any memory of him and Haellara. "Well......you know how most females have a sort of....hunger when they show their intentions; it's why they do things like bite and hurt when they make love. But.....it was like that part was gone. Like she wanted me to respond in kind instead of do the proper male thing and cower or shy away so that she can pull me back and do it all again. I know how to cringe and pull away, but to one that doesn't hurt you, one that just seems to want me to love her back.......how do you respond to a female like that? Have you had such a female before in your past experiences? What are they like?"

It really was a conversation they both had been involved in before. These words were not new. They were not unknown to each other. Still they hung on him, as he was certain that they hung on Mikaril as well. Both felt guilt, both felt somehow they had harmed the other. Neither could easily see the good they had done for each other. Neither could believe without a doubt that they would never hurt each other again. They feared it.

Somehow though this made Kyil love Mikaril all the more fiercely. Even if they were two different types of males, Mikaril had something in common with him. They both felt for each other so strongly. Kyil shifted his head a little as Mikaril attempted to make the best of this situation. The safety of travel with the large group as they went from city to city. Thus allowing them to use the magical portal scrolls they had purchased for future plans. The fact that this may indeed prove to be the safest choice. haellara would surely not just let Mikaril slip away forever. She had to know now that Mikaril would never return to that city. She would have to hunt him now rather then playing the part of a spider in a web. And what about him? Kyil opened his eyes and stared across the unfamilar wagon while feeling Mikaril's hand stroking in a comforting manner over his head. Surely Haellara would be furious beyond words with him. She would wish him dead for the insult he had dealt. And his anger in thetorture room...what he had done with her own magic... it was unforgiveable. Kyil closed his eyes and exhaled a slow deep breath.

"I will not speak of this anymore. I will do as you wish and keep from blaming myself for these events. They are in the past now. I will work harder to better serve you now and be a better student." Kyil promised Mikaril in a hushed voice. "So long as it is you keep to your promises too. I still will admitt I feel uneasy about taking shelter with this female. There is little to be done about it now though I guess."

Kyil closed his eyes as he listened to Mikaril struggle to explain how this kiss had been different then what he expected. Her actions must have seemed so odd to Mikaril..but for Kyil who was very well familar with such intimacies he found himself thinking perhaps he knew what it was she was seeking. "Back in the Pleasure House, I would often times be purchased by individuals who were not interested in useing me harshly. She sounds like she may not have the interest in bedding a unwilling partner. Perhaps it is a matter of pride, or just her preference. Some females and males do not want the partner they are with to be crying out in pain, but to enjoy their company as much as they are enjoying the other. Perhaps Ssussun's kiss was a test. To see what your response would be before making her choice. Her words..she said 'For now' right? So...perhaps her interest in you remains, but because of your lack of response she was not going to force herself on you. Personally Master...I have always found females like that to be far more enjoyable to take company with. You do not have to worry about being hurt, and often times they would stop if I made a unpleasent sound. As I said...pride or preference. She may not be inclined to force herself on you right away."

If their seemingly endless disagreement on who brought more misfortune on their best friend only feuled Kyil's love for Mikaril, the drow in question was feeling no less of a surge of love for the other. Mikaril still found it so hard to believe that a drow could care so much about someone other than himself to put himself through the Hell that his friend Kyil had gone through, just to make sure his friend was safe and happy, even if it meant putting himself in harm's way. He found himself once again hoping that he would never go tired of such devotion and see it as less than the miracle it truly was.

"That's right," Mikaril said in a quiet, soothing voice. "It's all behind us now. We both need to look to the future, to what the world has in store for us. We can't ignore the past if it comes around, but we'll worry about that when it happens. Right now we'll both get rested and stronger, for whatever comes our way. And you know what? I'm not afraid of what will happen, so long as we'll face it together. I can't possibly be afraid when I know you're there to watch over me, and I hope I can do the same for you, especially now." He couldn't help but spare a glance at his friend's stomach, currently still featureless. Would he be able to compose himself if his friend started experiencing complications? He knew better than to mess with anything should it come to that, but would he be able to stand it, not being able to do anything while his friend was in pain or discomfort? He could only hope that his being there, really the only thing he could offer, would be enough.

He listened intently to Kyil's reply, hardly believing what he was hearing. All his life Haellara had told him just what would be in store for him the day he caught a female's eye, and yet here was Kyil saying that there actually were females out there who didn't think it worth their while to see just how much blood they could draw from their new plaything and still have them strong enough to perform in the bedroom. But if it was a test, then how had he done? He flinched yes, but he could have done loads worse; at least he hadn't cried out or tried to hide anywhere. But he couldn't deny the relief he felt with the possibility that this female may actually want to keep him intact, much like the way he nurtured his roses.
"Yes.....I would be very grateful to not have to worry about being hurt, and hopefully if she is indeed one of those females, it might put your mind at ease also about my....predicament." He chuckled a little and looked down at Kyil as he continued to stroke his head. "Thank you Kyil; you've really given me something to think about. Now try and get some rest, and don't worry; I'll be right here with you. Always."

His soothing voice and quiet words had a effect on Kyil. His body relaxed more against Mikaril's own. Even though he had slept so soundly, he still felt as if he could sleep for days on end right now. Perhaps the magic of the potion had that effect. His body was undergoing a dramatic transformation, a new life was being cradled within a body not designed to nurture and provide for it. He supposed that alone would be taxing. Kyil tightened his hand upon Mikaril's own and on impulse pulled it up so he could gently kiss his knuckles. "I love you... I love you so much Mikaril. I know you will keep me safe...I know you will do what you can to take care of me..of...of us." He spoke in a hushed voice.

Kyil shifted his body a little so he could peer upwards at Mikaril beneath the stray strands of hair flopped over his face. "Regardless of how she may seem now...there is no telling if she will remain as thoughtful as she has. We do not know what her temperament is like. She may have more patience then many females..but that does not mean she will remain such. She could grow frustrated or angry...be careful with her. Please." He murmured softly. As he had spoken his words had grown softer and more faint. Kyil shifted his head against Mikaril's knee and sighed softly as sleep crept into his mind.
