"Does it really bother you?" Rory asked in all seriousness. "I mean, I'll stop teasin' you like tha' if you really donnae like it." Figures, he thought, here he was making her mad again when he'd thought she'd been enjoying it. He got up. "W' should gae see Keagan before he hands out all th' good jobs."

Feeling the need to explain herself, she shook her head and looked down. "It's just... what if other people see?" Saying it out loud was even worse than just thinking it, and she held a hand up to hide her face. Suddenly feeling silly for mentioning it, she bit her lip, grabbing Rory's hand and pulling him toward the door. "Eh, never mind, let's just go."

"Well, I donnae think many others will be lookin' as much as me," Rory said, voice a little flat since he wasn't sure how to cheer her up. He was pretty sure she was mad at him now. The whole morning had been something of a rollercoaster with more downs than ups. "Yeah. W' can gae." He moved past her out the door, waiting for her to leave before pulling it shut and walking off in the direction of Keagan's home, hands in his pockets and shoulders hunched.

His words had actually done the trick; she was actually significantly less self conscious when she realized that. She didn't care if Rory looked, and so as long as no one else bothered, she was happy. But it had become clear that she'd upset him. Frowning, she caught up to the boy, linking her arm in his and looking at him as they walked. They seemed to be developing a pattern; she is embarrassed by something he says, he is upset for embarrassing her, and she tries to cheer him up. "I'll bend over for you if you smile..." she whispered, smiling as playfully as she could, though more concerned than anything. She hadn't meant to make him sad.

Rory smirked, looking at her sidelong. "You bend o'er, lass, an' we're likely t' be arrested fae sex in public." He stopped and looked off a moment, frowning and muttering something in the didikai language.

Trying to hold back a fit of embarrassed giggles, Lee was relieved to see him teasing again. Her laughter died down quickly, however, at Rory's reaction to... well, she didn't know what he was looking at. "Hm? What is it?"

Rory looked down at her, blinking. "Hm? Oh, it's nothin'. I thought I saw somethin' but just me eyes playin' tricks on me, I think." He smiled reassuringly at her. "Keagan's vardo's just up ahead."

Looking off, Lee pouted a bit, thinking perhaps the boy was lying again. Was it another ghost? She wouldn't ask him. She wanted to keep things friendly for now, seeing as they'd already gone through several ups and downs just this morning.

Rory knocked on Keagan's door when they approached, his other hand taking hold of Lee's. It didn't take long for the door to open and the large older man to appear. He looked at Rory then Lee and then finally at their joined hands. "Well, lad, it's about bloody time you find yourself a lass. Come in, both o' you."

Lee lifted a hand to her face as she held back chuckles at Rory's misfortune. Squeezing Rory's hand tighter, Keagan didn't seem so intimidating this time around for some reason, and she followed the man inside. Did he even remember her? The question flitted through her mind for just a second before she disregarded it, looking back up at Rory and then to the man again. "We just came by because... well, I need a job. Is there still something open working the ticket booth?" She shuffled her feet nervously, realizing that this probably wasn't how you were to go about getting work.

Keagan sat down in his favorite chair, nodding to her. "Took your sweet time gettin' o'er here t' ask, daughter. Should tell Rory t' keep it in his pants more so you both can do your jobs around here." He looked at Rory. "W' work before w' play, lad."
"Yes, sir," Rory replied, nodding. "But is tha' job still open?"
"Why? You want it?" Keagan chuckled. "Lad, gae outside an' do somethin' tha' donae involve Lee fae a bit."
Rory nodded again and headed back out after a quick kiss to the top of Lee's head. Once he was gone, Keagan leaned forward, elbows on the table.
"Well, lass, how're you likin' life in th' clan? Been all this time an' you didnae come t' see me," Keagan said, pouting a bit. "You annulled your marriage t' my idiot son, but as far as th' clan cares, you're also me adopted daughter now. Yes, th' job's still around. You can thank your brother later fae askin' me t' hold it fae you." He grinned. "Now, how in th' hell did you end up wi' th' one boy no one else in th' clan seems t' want?"

The "keep it in his pants" statement caused Lee's cheeks to burn red, the girl blinking rapidly with embarrassment. Looking back and forth between Rory and Keagan before the boy left, she stood, blinking at the man's words. Faolan had done what now? And who was who's daughter? Wait, he actually remembered her!? A grin formed on her lips, Lee still shocked by everything that she hardly heard his last question. While she could have responded to everything, and actually really wanted to, she decided to stick to answering his question. "Umm... I dunno. Dun see why no one else wants him, though..." She shrugged, thinking to herself that, at one time, she'd been the girl that no one else wanted. Perhaps that was why they were together.

"It's th' boy's eyes. He wis just unlucky in tha', I guess. He's a good lad, just no one e'er seemed t' gi' him a chance afore," Keagan said, shrugging. "Figured we'd hae t' eventually find him a wife from a matchmaker. You are a superbly better option, though, daughter." He reached over to get something from the counter, then held it out to her. "Here be your schedule fae work. You start tomorrow. Donnae be late, eh?"

Lee took Keagan's words as a compliment, though she shouldn't have, considering that marrying for love would always be a better option than marrying for the sake of being married. Nodding and taking the sheet of paper from the man, Lee's smile brightened further, barely looking it over before looking back up at him. "Thank you, Keagan. Um... I'll try to visit more often. I just... didn't think you remembered me." She laughed uncomfortably, biting her lip and looking at the schedule in her hands once more.

"I remember all th' clan members, especially me kids, Lee," Keagan said, standing up. He patted her gently on the head then pressed a soft leather pouch into her hand. "Here. Think o' this as a housewarmin' gift t' see you through till you get your first pay." He ushered her towards the door. "An' remember, you can call me Da. Now, gae find your lad an' see if he'll get you some breakfast."
