I thought Athena was one of the last to go down, though. She had to protect Athens while they put Hera under or something, right? Maybe I ought to read the backstory you posted again...
And yeah, figured they'd be around Greece, Crete, and so on. I suppose we could BS some explanation, though razz

It's actually in athena's backstory. Not in the main ones. Athena was brought down first as part of her plan; she manipulated the mortals into taking her down first. This was a strategic gamble though, as she wasn't sure how things would be handled.
It was designed for two reasons: 1) it would give a major confidence boost to the mortals, while simultaneously removing her from battle, which in turn would mean she wouldn't have to answer for her attempts to lose the fight. Without a strategist, hera would act recklessly and impulsively, and hopefully be brought down due to incompetance.
2) If the ultimate plan were to fail, she would know that it was impossible for mortals to challenge gods without divine help, and ultimately she would have to purposefully take Hera down and set up the regime in her name, something she was unsure she had the capacity to do at the time, no matter how much the mortals were suffering.
Plus, poseidon could help defend athens, which as revealed later, he did in memory of his wife. The Athenians were ironically neutral during the conflict, and when attacked, Poseidon was killed, while simultaneously tiring one of the goddesses (i never decided) to the point the mortals could subdue her. Athens was turned into the major capital of greece due to this, however, as they were the ones who effectively 'won' the war.

No biggie. This is kind of a story I have in mind. A lot of backstory, not so much plot for the present day. Kind of bookish if I did do the backstuff. Im not very good at writing things though.

Ironically, I was considering whether or not a goddess could grow larger and more powerful in this age if she's hit with the proper element...
Lightning for hera, obviously, but the idea pittered out with the concept of the more abstract things.

Yeah, that would be kinda odd. I mean, what would Athena's be? Olives?
And God forbid if Hera found a nuclear power plant or something... And yes, I realize the irony in saying "God forbid" in that statement razz

no, energy of that sort wouldn't change things. Athena's would be the earth; or a microchip of data.. earth worked because of poseidon's ability, but that was too easily tappable. the microchip seemed cheesy: eat microsoft, get a size boost... Eat a network center, absorb the info, win...
but something like aphrodite, goddess of love? What works there? an adult shop with porn toys? Or artemis, the hunt and moon?
