Ryu and Gastly continued walking through the forest until they came across a wild pidgey."Yeah. Its time to make a new friend." He said as he wild pidgey noticed them but didnt flee."Gastly, lets go." He said as Gastly floated forward and was about to fight the wild pidgey.

A gust of wind came across the battlefield as Gastly was about to square off against the wild pidgey."Gastly, Lick attack." Ryu commanded as Gastly moved forward and licked Pidgey. The wild pidgey came to its senses and quickly dashed forward tackling Gastly knocking him back just a bit."Are you ok?" Ryu asked as Gastly simply shook his head up and down telling him he's ok."Alright, time to end this. Gastly, hypnosis!" Ryu said as Gastly stared at the wild pidgey and within seconds, the wild pidgey was fast asleep. Ryu reached behind him and pulled out an empty pokeball pressing the small cicle enlargening it and threw it at the wild pidgey. The pokeball hit the wild pidgey on its head and was sucked into the pokeball. Ryu and Gastly stood there watching as the pokeball was moving from left to right flashing red until it soon made a beeping sound meaning Ryu had captured the wild pidgey. He walked over and picked up the pokeball and his new friend."Gastly, we did it." Ryu said as Gastly circled around Ryu.

Alexander walked along Route 2 and looked up at the front gate to Viridian City. A ranger near the entrance approached Alexander, at first he thought he was in trouble, but the ranger merely said
"It's a bit late for you to be wandering the woods young man, you'd better head back." Alexander merely smirked and continued to walk. "Hey! Don't ignore me! Come on out, Scyther!" The ranger threw his pokeball revealing quite an agile looking Scyther. The Scyther let out a shrill battle cry and blocked the entrance.
Alexander's expression turned serious, he sent out Fang. Fang let out a roar of his own, causing Scyther to hesitate a bit, but still stood its ground. "I'll battle you, if I win, that should prove that I'm strong enough to hold my own in these woods. If you win, then I'll head back until dawn." Alexander knew by the anger in the ranger's eyes that he'd accept the challenge.
"FINE! It's a deal! Scyther, use night slash!" The Scyther pulled back one of its blade-shaped arms and slashed at Fang. Fang was knocked backwards and had a small cut on his front right leg. Scyther spotted it immediately and started spinning and rubbing its blades together.
"Fang, watch out, that's sword dance!" Alexander knew better than to get close to a Scyther using sword dance, but this was his chance to get a move in. "Fang, use Fire blast!" Fang pulled his right front paw back and ducked his head down, he whipped his head back, then jerked it forward as a powerful flame emitted from his mouth, flying towards Scyther and driving Scyther to the ground, Scyther was able to get up again, and appeared much more fierce than before.

"Scyther, use X-Scissor!" The guard was surprised at Alexander's strength, but did not back down.
"Fang, use extremespeed to dodge, then hit Scyther!" Alexander watched as Fang quickly ducked to Scyther's right just as Scyther flew forward and crossed his blades. Scyther spotted Fang at his right and let one of his blades fly to his right and slash Fang's right leg again. Fang howled in pain, but still weakly hit extremespeed with enough force to drive Scyther into a tree. Scyther broke his fall by stabbing one of the blades into a tree and hanging from it before pulling the blade loose and flying towards Fang.
"Fang, are you alright?" Alexander didn't want ann injured pokemon on his hands, that could be bad for his gym battle. Fang merely nodded at Alexander to show that he could go on further. "Now Fang, use bite on Scyther!" Fang leapt at Scyther to bite him, but the guard's next command stopped that possibility abruptly.

"Scyther, use detect!" Scyther's eyes glowed brightly and it suddenly noticed Fang's battle patterns, everything seemed to slow down in Scyther's eyes. Fang tried to bite Scyther's core, but Scyther merely flew backwards, Fang targeted his left blade, but Scyther pulled back and flew upwards. Scyther had been blocking Fang's view, causing Fang to slam into a nearby tree.
"Now again Scyther, use night slash!" Scyther raised his right blade to the moon and Alexander watched as energy flowed into the blade, turning it a dark blue color. The attack punctured Fang's injured leg again and Fang collapsed to the ground. "Finish it with X-Scissor Scyther!" Scyther stood on top of Fang and crossed his blades over Fang's head in a guillotine-like fashion.

Alexander knew that he had to stop this, or the battle would be over, and not in his favor. Fang rolled over, exposing his belly to Scyther, but then let out a huge fire blast knocking Scyther into the night sky. Scyther flew down, his eyes closed. His wings were burned to badly for him to make a recovery, he merely prepared to hit the ground with an unbarable impact.
"Fang, now knock it out of the sky with extremespeed!" Fang ran straight into Scyther right as it was about to hit the ground. The guard's lips trembled. He'd caught that pokemon in the Safari Zone, he'd trained it to be more powerful than any opponent that crossed its path...but Fang was a bit too strong for it. "Scyther, return!" Right as Scyther was about to hit the ground, a red light consumed him and he flew into the pokeball quickly. (Plus 45 exp for Fang)
Alexander quickly threw a rock the guard's way, "Fang, use bite!" The rock flew towards the guard, but instead of hitting the guard, it hit the pokeball out of his hand. Fang quickly caught the ball in his mouth and thrusted his head back to throw Alexander the pokeball.
The guard ran at Alexander "Hey! That's my prized pokemon!" Alexander snatched the pokeball and called Fang back. "Fang, come back!" He brought Fang back into his pokeball, then called out Belle. Belle appeared in front of the guard, the guard became so frightened that he fell to the ground. Belle giggled, grabbed Alexander and flew off through the woods swiftly. The guard sat on the ground pounding his fists in the dirt with frustration, he'd been outsmarted by some kid, to this day he no longer stops anyone at the front of the woods.

Heading into route 2 with his pokedex in his left hand & Mankey out of the pokeball, Tim was keeping his eye out for pokemon, trying to figure out what kinds were in the area, deciding what should he use for his party. He already knew what his crippled brother was using a pidgey as his flier, so he knew about that & spearow, keeping an eye out for those 2, heading into the grass.
He then saw from quite a distance an uncommon spearow (female) in the grass, searching for some food.
"If I weaken it, I might kill it or it'll flee. I do need one for my team though." He mumbles, Mankey messing around with his hair, removing his hairband & loosening his hair.

(I hope this Spearow capture is allowed. I know the spearows show up in route 22 & past pewter, but I did not want to confuse myself or others, so I figured screw it.)
Reaching for his berry pouch after being blinded by his own loose hair temorarily, Tim reaches for a handful of berries, setting up some bait for the female spearow, maneuvering his hair away from his face, trying to push Mankey away from him playfully as he makes the trap.
"This one's going to adore me for doing this for her." He laughs, using his know-how as a healer at the Viridian poke centre, placing a handful of berries in a pile, heading further away from the spearow, handing Mankey some grapes.
