"Mm." Althenna nodded distractedly, "That's what I wanted to talk to you about. Me and Kayn are going to execute the heads of Semane and Netura. Would you like to join us? I can't promise any pay but I'm a very good hunter -- as I've already said -- so food won't be too much of a problem." as they passed a street vendor selling human meat, she added, "I don't mind if you prefer human meat, either. But I'll not cook it." she said firmly.
Fingering the hilt of her mother's blade, she questioned, "What are your talents?" she drew the blade and spun it in her hand, "Besides light fingers?"

Val almost stopped in her tracks. "Your joking right?" she said, thinking for a moment before letting out a snicker. Although she'd love to slaughter all the leaders - it surely was only a dream.
As Althenna mentioned food, Valora had to kinda laugh. "Don't worry, I eat what you would call 'normal human food'," she smelled the human meat as they passed the stand. "Although, I'd lie if I said I've never craved human meat before."
Valora grinned at her comment of "light fingers". "Like I said, my father trained us hard and I've been a mercernary for 5 years. I've done all kinda jobs imaginable - well, at least offered them. But without sounding too egotistic, I can use this Claymore on my back fairly well." She swiftly slid the sword out of its sheath and swung it in her hand, mimicing Althenna's movements on a larger scale. "It was the main weapon I was taught with." Valora ran her hand down her fathers blade. "I am also rather capable in hand to hand combat." she threw the blade in the air as she spoke, only moving a bit to the side to catch it in the sheath. "My father believed you needed to know how to win a fight when your weapon is lost aswell."

Althenna decided she very much liked this girl and grinned at her displays.
"It is no joke. I have been to the Castle of King Henry and the Four Palaces of the Four Lords and I believe it is possible. We simply need the right people." She sheaved her blade and took a moment to look cocky as she tossed a few black locks over her shoulder, "And humans are eaten by just about everything -- even other humans -- so I must assume we are quite tasty."
As they entered the tavern, Althenna admited, "I think I would have liked your father. He reminds me of my mother, may the winds carry her home." she added in a mutter, "Your skills are something we will need. And your sword is a fine one, so we won't have to worry about getting you equipment. I would advise armor... though" she looked down at herself, "I'm one to talk." she said sarcastically.

As the half-breed entered the tavern filled with aromas of cookery, her stomach began to roar again. Val continued to listen to the human and heard her mutter something about her mother. Being a half-breed still gave her more heightened senses, meaning her hearing was fairly strong too - although Kayn's full-blooded senses would be even stronger.
Even though she heard the remark, the fact that Althenna whispered it showed a want of secrecy. Val won't ask any further about her mothers whereabouts.
"Your skills are something we will need. And your sword is a fine one, so we won't have to worry about getting you equipment. I would advise armor... though" Althenna looked down at herself, "I'm one to talk." she said sarcastically.
"Yes, you must have rather cold winters." Val laughed quietly. "Though yes, it would seem more wise to most. But I like to move fast and with as less weight as possible. The blows against me maybe fatal, but they'll have to land a blow first." She couldn't help but slyly grin after that.
Valora wasn't sure whether she was more impressed with Althennas handwork or the fact that she had been in all the royal buildings.
"You have been in all the royal buildings" Val said now interested as she sat in her chair and leant on the table. "I must ask, exactly what position are you and your family if they are able to enter such places?"

Althenna chuckled at Valora's comment about "cold winters".
"I will agree with you on the armor. My agility has kept me alive where others have perished. Of course, I'm sure my strength will become my weakness someday and be the death of me. It is only fitting." She cast a sidelong glance at Valora and smirked, "Though I doubt my speed and agility is anything compared to yours."
Althenna took her seat and sat at easy at the table, despite being in a room full to brimming with demons in various stages of drunkenness.
"My mother was Leader of Hannah -- a nomadic amazon warrior tribe -- and friend of King William. Though they often fought, the two were loyal to each other. I was taken to the castle during winters to train to become the personal guard of William's first child. As for my entering the demon houses... " an irritated look passed over her face as she spoke, "I did a lot of climbing." she said wryly.

"Though I doubt my speed and agility is anything compared to yours."
Valora snorted a laugh. "Please, my pride is big enough! Especially when there's nothing to boast about when you haven't eaten in a week or 2." she crookedly smiled. "Besides, you handle yourself alot better than most humans do. Although..." Val leant forward a bit and placed her hand flat and beside her mouth. "I think if Kayn didn't kill us with her demonic strength, she most definately would with her glare! " she whispered loudly knowing it would be pointless to try to voice something and keep it from the demon.
Upon hearing her mothers connection with the former King of Netura, Val was in awe "That's incredible!" she voiced. "As for the..." Val paused as some of the other demons filling the place began to give intrigued glances. "...other places, you really must have a death wish." Val didn't know whether to be impressed with the survival or worried about the stupidity of entering a place on your own - demon, elf or human!

"I think if Kayn didn't kill us with her demonic strength, she most definitely would with her glare! " she whispered loudly knowing it would be pointless to try to voice something and keep it from the demon.
Althenna giggled at that.
"As for the..." Val paused as some of the other demons filling the place began to give intrigued glances. "...other places, you really must have a death wish."
"You know, I get that a lot." The leaned back in her chair and said, "I'm patient to a point. Past that point, I'm impatient and bullheaded. I've reached the latter part with this stupid war."
Althenna frowned, "I would like to think just hte three of us could take on the task at hand, but the part of me that factors in reality has pointed out that it would be impossible. We have a long road a head of us, Valora, will you stay 'til the end?" she asked critically.

The War. Being a mercernary meant you didn't really pay attention to the politics - you just did what you needed to do then retrieved the payment. In fact, being a half-breed just made life feel like a war but with everybody other than the family who accepted you. Val didn't know anything else
Althenna frowned, "I would like to think just the three of us could take on the task at hand, but the part of me that factors in reality has pointed out that it would be impossible. We have a long road a head of us, Valora, will you stay 'til the end?" she asked critically.
To be honest, Val couldn't care less about the people of this world. No matter what race they were, they never accepted her. The fact that they still fought gave her a reason be happy she was different. Well, that was until about an hour ago. Althenna may have changed her mind about the whole situation. Maybe there were more people out there who were understanding - more people like her father, Althenna and by the sounds of things, her mother Helena too.
Valora was silent. If she went along with this, she would be entering a world she seemed to be denying after her fathers death. A life with goals, companionship and friendship. A life with more vulnerabilities and weaknesses...
The half-breed finally killed the silence as she rose from her seat and stuck out her hand firmly. "As long as there's a meal every night... I'm sold" her stern thinking glance faded as she smirked at her new accepted friend.

Althenna stood in kind and excepted Valora's handshake, "Well, we have ourselves a deal." Waving to a barmaid, she said to Valora, "A warm meal to start things off sounds like a good idea to me." She grinned.
The demoness came reluctantly. She did not want to serve a human or a half-breed but money was money.
"What do you want?" She asked curtly.
"A meal minus the human." Althenna answered quickly, "And something light to drink. It's still mid-day, no use getting drunk this early."

Althenna returned a firm handshake. "Well, we have ourselves a deal." Waving to a barmaid, she said to Valora, "A warm meal to start things off sounds like a good idea to me." She grinned.
"Definately!" Val felt like a kid getting their birthday present.
The barmaid didn't look happy, but again, Val was used to it. "A meal minus the human." Althenna answered quickly, "And something light to drink. It's still mid-day, no use getting drunk this early."
"The same for me. Although I'd like a pint of whiskey for the beverage." Valora grinned at her from across the table. "Don't worry, I don't get drunk easy."

Althenna gave a small smirk, "There are upsides to being a half-demon." Taking her seat, she turned to Kayn, "Anything for you? I'm paying."

By the time Anduril arived in Lothlorien was late afternoon and the council was about ajourn for the day."Sorry I'm late," he said as he dropped into the middle of the Council platform, at the top of the largest tree in the forest.Lothlorien was a city that was built in and around trees, and the Elves that lived there were also known as Giladhrim, the tree-people. "Anduril, I'm glad you're here, even if you are later than we had hoped. We have had news from one of our spys that a group of Deserters are atemting to make contact with a Human who is attempting to kill King Henry and the Demon Lords. If they fail then war will ensue between Netura and Setar. We cannot allow this to happen. The council want you to track this Human down and kill her and any one with her." "Nice to see you too, Dad," Anduril said."Any idea were the Human is?" "She was last seen at a village in Seman." The council member who had said this gave Anduril directions to the village. "Thanks," Anduril anwsered, before taking off and heading towards Semane.

So Althenna had managed to convince the half-breed to join them- which was more of a bittersweet accomplishment for Kayn. As they sat down in the tavern Althenna asked Kayn if she wanted anything to eat.
"Meat," she answered nonspecifically, staring at the table. Right now she didn't care anyways- she would eat sheep, pork, or human. "And something light to drink, too." She had recently downed some alcoholic drink made with human anyways.

Bulletbeard The Pirate By the time Anduril arived in Lothlorien was late afternoon and the council was about ajourn for the day."Sorry I'm late," he said as he dropped into the middle of the Council platform, at the top of the largest tree in the forest.Lothlorien was a city that was built in and around trees, and the Elves that lived there were also known as Giladhrim, the tree-people. "Thanks," Anduril anwsered, before taking off and heading towards Semane. The Merry Men of Pershna stepped around a platform, one ahead of the rest. He wore a dark yellow tunic and pants, armored in light chain mail and leather armor. He had a dark brown beard and a muscular, bearish frame. He held up a hand at Anduril and his father. "And why, might I inquire, is this human so deadly to your race that you cannot instead use her?" He smiled widely, his Avalonii longbow across his chest and his quarterstaff in his right hand. "Could not the death of Henry and the...replacement of the Demon Lords not work to your advantage? We've come to discuss with your Council just that."

Selce stirred in her seat next to her father. As a member of the council and she his only heir Selce was allowed to sit in except for the most important things. As another council member directed a just entered elf, Selce sat up straight in her seat. Another man entered into the midst of the council platform. She listened to what the man said. At the word's of the want to kill the leaders she was completly out of her seat to listen carefully to the words. "Father I must leave, I have business for the house to sort." He mumbled his agreement and she slipped out. She retrieved her gear, mainly her sword and light chainmail, and returned to a platform close to the Council's. She would wait until the elf or the group of men left, then she would join them. -------- Aisha's anger was well placed. She had been woken during the day, she was mostly a night person. Aisha had been ordered to learn about a claim of a trio stealing from a minor demon lord. She snorted in disgust that she had to investigate a claim of theft. What was worse it was a paltry amount to this lord. He was rich but believed since there was a demon and half-demon among the three that he had been targetted. Aisha had been able to search the area thoroughly and followed rumors and whispers to a tavern nearby. Aisha decided to take a peak inside. There were many trio's inside the tavern but only one had a half-demon with them. She decided to wait to 'ask' her questions until it was less crowded. Her lord may not want such a display to happen in public. She sat at a nearby table and eavesdropped as best she could.
